October Addams generally had an easier time making friends, before people realize he's the brother of that 'weirdo' and promptly loses them because they find out that he's a freak with an even freakier twin sister.

Of course people turned to look at the weirdoes who walk through a school hall together and people parted like they were Moses and the student body was the red sea.

Even the teachers seemed like they didn't like them to much.

So, it was pretty obviously when Wednesday spotted a crowd of jocks laughing at something while there was a weird tapping noise coming from inside of their younger brother, Pugsley's, defaced locker.

The bell rang and everyone started heading to class.

Wednesday opened the locker and a bounded Pugsley came tumbling out. It looked like he had an apple shoved in his mouth.

Wednesday removed the apple and said, "I want names."

"I don't know who they were," Pugsley said. "Honest. It happened so fast."

October busied himself with trying to untie Pugsley.

"Pugsley, emotion equals weakness," Wednesday explained. "Pull yourself together." She tried to grab the rope from October, then promptly threw her head back, like she was being possessed, which honestly would've been cool. It would be amazing if she broke her neck throwing it back like that.

However, she was having a vision. She had started having visions that just come up without warning. Sometimes if she touches something, they show up.

It was how she found out who had given October a black-eye two weeks ago when she poked his bruised eye wanting to know who had given it to him.

The result was that guy pissing himself and transferring schools.

October still didn't know what his sister had done.

After all...only she was allowed to torture him and Pugsley.

Pugsley looked surprised when Wednesday finally had gotten through with the vision. He asked, "You okay?"

The school warning bell went off.

"Leave this to me," Wednesday replied, before getting up to walk away.

"Wednesday," Pugsley said. "What are you going to do?"

"What I do best," Wednesday stated before walking away.

October went to untie Pugsley.

Pugsley, looking slightly horrifed, asked, "What is she going to do?"

"I don't know," October said. He didn't want to know.

It was at least a serious maiming when one guy lost a testicle, or in the police officers words 'attempted homicide' and Wednesday needed, in a judge's words, 'court-ordered therapy sessions'

So, with another expulsion under Wednesday's belt, October was tacked on there because no one else wanted to deal with the 'attempted murderer's brothers' so he and Pugsley, too, needed a new school, especially with the vengeful swimming team who would likely take their frustration out on October and Pugsley.

So, when he heard something about sending Wednesday to Nevermore Academy, October said that he'll go too.

They were packed in the car, driven by Lurch with Pugsley in the passenger. Wednesday and October were in the seat opposite their parents, who were singing to each other.

It was disgusting, but they were in love.

There was a tiny part of October who wanted to find somebody to love him like how his parents love each other.

It was just weird seeing other marriages outside of his parents. He knew that those parents had to love each other, but sometimes it just seems like they barely tolerated each other.

He looked away from his parents who started kissing and looked out the window. He heard thumps from the front. He guessed some birds hit the window, it sounded like three birds. It was a nice day outside, because it was getting cloudy. If it started raining, then it would be a beautiful day.

Gomez sighed and Morticia asked, "Darling, how long do you intend on giving us the cold shoulder?"

"Lurch, please remind my parents I'm no longer speaking to them," Wednesday told Lurch.

Lurch grunted.

Morticia hummed.

"October, please remind our parents that I'm no longer speaking to them," Wednesday told October.

"She's no longer speaking to you," October reminded his parents.

Gomez leaned forward to speak to his daughter, "I promise, my little viper, you will love Nevermore." He looked at his wife, "Won't she, Tish?"

"Of course," Morticia said. "It's the perfect school for her."

"Why?" Wednesday asked, "Because it was the perfect for you? I have no interest in following in your footsteps; becoming captain of the fencing team, Queen of the Dark Prom, President of the Sรฉance Society which October wants to be."

"I merely meant that finally you will be among peers who understand you," Mortrcia state. "Maybe you two will even make some friends."

"Nevermore is like no other boarding school," Gomez added. "It's a magical place. It's where I met your mother. And we fell in love." They locked eyes and made some yearning sigh at each other.

It looked like they were going to start kissing again.

"You guys are making me nauseous," Wednesday interrupted. Their parents looked at her, "And not in a good way."

"Darling, we aren't the ones who got you expelled," Morticia said. "That boy's family was going to file attempted murder charges. How would that have looked on your record?"

"Terrible," Wednesday said. "Everyone would know I failed to get the job done, just like how they know that I'm failing to get the job done with October." She gave her brother a death glare just because he was still alive.

Morticia hummed again.

When they were younger, Wednesday decided that 'there could be only one of us' and started to try and kill him. It started with her trying to smother him in his sleep, so October decided to try and electrocute her by making an electric chair. She retaliated by water boarding him.

October looked out the window at a black pick-up truck that had some kind of logo on it. He made out the name "Martha's" on it.

It looked like it was getting cloudy, which was perfect weather.

They finally came through the school gates of Nevermore Academy and it started raining.

Morticia sighed, "At least it's turning into a beautiful day."

It sounded like some bells were tolling and thunder rumbled.

They came onto the school property.

"Wednesday and October are certainly unique names," Principal Weems stated.

October didn't think his month name was that unique, considering he meet a girl with the name October. She was the most colorful girl that he had ever seen. He was sure that he was allergic to her, because she gave him hives just for touching him. "I'm guessing it was the month and the day you were born?"

"We were born on Friday the Thirteenth," Wednesday stated.

"Wednesday's name comes from a line from my favorite nursery rhyme: Wednesday's child is full of woe," Morticia stated. "And October's name comes from the month that has my favorite holiday, Halloween."

"You always had a unique perspective on the world, Morticia," Principal Weems replied. To the teens, she asked, "Did your mother tell you that we were roommates back in the day?"

"And you graduated with your sanity intact?" Wednesday replied, "Impressive."

The principal elected to ignore that in favor of looking over some paperwork. "You two certainly had a very interesting educational journey. Eight schools in five years."

"They haven't built a school strong enough to hold me," Wednesday stated. "They just tack October onto me, even though I'm trying to get rid of him. He just follows me. I bet this place wouldn't be any different."

"I believe what our daughter is trying to say is that she greatly appreciates the opportunity," Gomez said.

"Nevermore doesn't usually accept students mid-term, but given your kids perfect grades and your family's long history with the school, I've spoken with the board and we've an exception," Principal Weems explained.

Morticia explained, "Larissa, what about Wednesday's um...therapy sessions? The court ordered them."

"The school has a relationship with a therapist in Jericho. She can meet twice a week," Principalp Weems stated.

"Did you hear that, my little storm cloud? You're in excellent hands," Gomez told Wednesday.

"We'll see if she survives the first session," Wednesday stated.

"I've assigned you both to your parents' old dorms," Principal Weems stated. "Wednesday, you're in Ophelia Hall and October, you're in Aleister Hall."

Morticia gasped in an excited way.

"Refresh my memory," Wednesday said. "Ophelia's the one who kills herself after being driven mad by her family, correct?"

Morticia nodded.

October looked at his dad, "Aleister as in Aleister Crowley the occultist, as in Mr. Crowley by Ozzy Osbourne?"

Gomez nodded with a proud smile, "That's the one."

Principal Weems smiled, "Should we go meet your new roommates?"

Wednesday is the first person to get dropped off first.

There was a stained glass window and the room looked...vivid.

Wednesday looked shocked, like the time when their parents said that they were twins when they were four. At that moment, Wednesday knew that there could only be one and October wasn't it, so she started planning on how to kill him.

Most would think that they had a sibling rivalry, but October knew differently.

"It's so...vivid," Gomez said.

Wednesday's roommate was a girl with shoulder length blonde hair. One side looked to be dyed pink and the other was dyed blue.

She walked over, with a large smile. She inhaled deeply looking at Wednesday, "Howdy roomie."

"Wednesday and October, this is Enid Sinclair," Principal Weems stated.

Enid looked a little concerned, "Are you feeling okay? You look a little...pale."

"Wednesday always looks half-dead," Gomez clarified.

"Oh," Enid replied. "Welcome to Ophelia Hall." She went to hug Wednesday, who backed away. "Not a hugger. Got it."

"Please excuse Wednesday, she's allergic to color," Morticia explained.

"Oh, wow," Enid muttered. "What happens to you?"

Wednesday spoke flatly, "I break out into hives and then the flesh peels off my bones."

"Luckily, we've special ordered you and your brother a uniform," Principal Weems explained with a chuckle. "Enid, please take Wednesday to the registrar's office to pick it up along with a copy of her schedule and give her a tour along the way."

Wednesday turned to give her parents and October a death glare, before leaving the room with Enid skipping after her. It was actually cute.

October's roommate was messy, judging from the clothes and other assorted junk scattered everywhere, but at least it didn't look like a rainbow threw up in there.

His roommate wore a gray beanie and he looked like he was stoned, just without the red eyes.

"October, this is Ajax Petropolus," Principal Weems stated.

October was incredulous, "Ajax? Like the dish soap?"

In the same incredulous tone, Ajax replied, "October? Like the name of the month."

The uniform was awful. Indigo and black striped blazer, blue tie, black dress pants...

"This is hell," October stated.

Ajax looked like he didn't know what to say to that, besides, "You look like you're in black-and-white, like a walking Instagram filter."

What the fuck was an Instagram filter? He heard people talking about Instagram back at regular schools, but he didn't know what it was.

Principal Weems said, "Ajax, please take October to the registrar's office to pick up his uniform and a copy of his schedule and give him a tour while you're at it."

Ajax nodded and motioned for October to follow him. October glared at his parents, before following after the stoner.

Ajax took him to the registrar's office and talked on the way there. It seemed like Ajax talked a lot to fill the silence, "When Weems told me I was getting a new roommate, I tried to find you online, but I couldn't."

"I don't like social media." October explained, "I think it's a way for a bunch of strangers to bully others into taking their own lives or for adults to exploit children into making money for them. It's a parasite where people look for social validation and get spit on when they make one little mistake. It's vile and cruel, and not in a good way."

Ajax nodded, even though he looked like he didn't get it, "Okay. That's totally your opinion, dude, and that's okay, man."

Great, he just won validation from a stoner.

As they walked, they kept getting stopped by other students who were talking about Enid's new roommate.

"I heard that she ate one of her victim's alive," a girl said.

"She killed someone and ate him afterwards," a boy told him.

"Oh, I should warn Enid," Ajax stated.

October wanted to say something but he was kind of curious to see Ajax's reaction.

"This is the quad," Ajax said.

"It's a pentagon," October told him. "It has five sides."

"Those are the Fangs, Furs, Stoners, and Scales," Ajax told him, pointing at each group.

"Alliteration, how joyful," October replied.

"The Fangs are vampires, the Furs are werewolves, the Stoners are gorgons like me," Ajax said.

The werewolves did a pitiful howl together.

"I'll assume the Scales are sirens," October told him, looking at the sirens hanging out by the fountain.

"Yeah," Ajax replied. "That girl is Bianca Barclay."

"More alliteration," October replied.

Ajax spotted Enid, "Oh, there's Enid." He went after her and October followed after him. "Yo, Enid. You're not going to believe the dirt this guy and I heard about your new roommate. She eats human flesh. Totally chowed down on that kid she murdered. You better watch your back."

Enid stepped to the side to reveal that Wednesday was standing behind her the whole time.

"Quite the contrary," Wednesday said. "I actually fillet the bodies of my victims then feed to them to my menagerie of pets and October's pet spiders."

Ajax looked between Wednesday and October. "That's so weird, his name is October. And you look a living Instagram filter too."

"She's my twin," October told him.

"Sadly," Wednesday added.

October noticed a guy who was painting a raven on a wall. He seemed kind of familiar but October couldn't place him. October looked at Enid. She was actually prettier up close.

"You both should really get on Insta, Snapchat, and TikTok," Enid told him.

"Snapchat sounds dirty," October stated.

"We both find social media to be a soul-sucking void of meaningless affirmation," Wednesday told her.

She turned and started walking away. October looked apologetically at Enid, before following after his sister.

After getting dressed in the uniform, dark grey with black stripes they meet their parents and Lurch who were still on the grounds. They had to wait a while apparently.

Gomez smiled, "Look at you both my little deathtrap and fire-starter."

There had been a strange fire that cropped up in a convenience store. Nobody got injured, sadly, but still. Gomez went to them.

"Seeing you both in these uniforms brings back so many terrible memories," Gomez said. He put one arm around each of their shoulders. "Doesn't it, Tish."

"Yes," Morticia smiled. "Why don't you boys wait in the car? Wednesday and I need a moment."

Gomez went to the stand by his wife while Pugsley walked forward.

He hugged Wednesday first.

"Pugsley," Wednesday stated. He let go of her, "You're soft and weak. You'll never survive without me. I give you two months, tops."

October looked at Pugsley.

"I'm gonna miss you, too, sis," Pugsley told her.

October was sure that Wednesday was going to miss Pugsley too. Deep down. Somewhere in that non-existent heart of hers, possibly.

October followed after Pugsley, ruffling his hair as he went. "I'll miss you, Pugs."

"Here," Gomez said, handing October a silver ring with a black chain wrapped around it. "Here, one day, October, you might even find your own Morticia, so I want you to give this to her." He paused, before adding, "Or you might even find you own Gomez if you want to take after your mother."

That was...a little creepy once his dad put it that way.

October said, "Uh, thanks, Father?"

He stood by the car as Lurch open the passenger door for Pugsley to get in. He looked at Lurch, "I think I'm going to miss you too, Lurch."

Luch grunted at him.

He was going to take that as Lurch saying he'll miss October too. He waited as Wednesday and Morticia talked.

"Lurch, the crystal balls please," Morticia said.

Lurch walked to her with two paper bags and handed them off to her.

"October, come over here, please," Morticia called to him.

October walked over to stand next to Wednesday.

"We can't talk to you the first week while you're both settling in, so we'll call you both next Sunday," Morticia said, handing one bag to October and the other to Wednesday.

"Okay," October said. For a moment it looked like his mother was going to hug them, but she didn't. "Bye, Mother," October told her.

"Bye, my dears," Morticia told them, before going to the car. She looked back at them before getting in.

They stood by and watched the car leave just as it started to sprinkle which was just perfect.
