Chapter 1. Where Aphrodite Doesn't Agree With Her
Location :- Mount Olympus
Aphrodite's POV :-
"So, you're saying that she didn't get hit by your arrow ?" I ask Eros. I sent him to Earth, to that girl so that he can use his arrow and she would fall in love. As a result, I would win the challenge.
"Yes." Eros said.
"How is this even possible ?" I ask as I try to grasp the fact that Eros's arrow couldn't do my work.
"You see, for my powers to work, I carry two kinds of arrows, or darts, one with a sharp golden point, and the other with a blunt tip of lead. A person wounded by the golden arrow is filled with uncontrollable desire, but the one struck by the lead feels aversion and desires only to flee. I fired the right arrow in right direction but, it just vanished before touching her." He explained why my first attempt failed.
"I will have to find another way." I wondered aloud and my brain started functioning about what is to be done in the next step because there is no way, I was going to loose a challenge to a mortal.

Location :- Art Museum (Where Addilyn's best friend, Reese was holding a weeding)
Addilyn's POV :-
"You couldn't find a better place for this wedding ?" I ask Reese, who dragged me here for her second wedding plan. My restaurant was going to do the catering service here.
"What can I do in this ? The client was so grateful to the Gods for this wedding that they wanted a historical environment." She replied as she stepped back to watch the decorated altar from a distance.
"And thus, you decided what better place than that of an art museum of God's... " I ask raising my left eyebrow.
I completely don't understand why people really try to settle down with their love-of-life, when they could still enjoy both love and freedom with being single.
"You can say so. I thought this will be the perfect solution to everyone's problems. The couple will get all the God's blessings at one place and the guests will be able to enjoy the scenery the museum has to provide." Reese replied turning to my direction with her notepad.
She works as a wedding planner and this is her second event. I will have to say that she did a good job with the scenery here. A simple, yet beautiful design. The white chairs were filled up at the backside of the museum and in the centre lay a beautiful white altar. Small paper lanterns were hanging above the paths making it look like some kind of fairytale.
Rows of statues of different Gods and Goddesses filled the lawn and in the centre lay this altar. Reese was right. There was no better way of getting blessed than this.
I look at my left and see the statue of Aphrodite. Looks like I will not be that bored in this wedding than I thought I would be.
"Well, hello there. I know you are a Goddess of love. And I really wanted to know that don't you feel you got the wrong department in the God's line ? I mean, people nowadays don't even know the spelling of love. Your work is completely outdated."
Throughout the wedding, my constant support was this statue, to whom I kept on talking and rambling. I could hear the wedding vows. They were pretty cheesy, if you ask me. But then again, this whole wedding is cheesy according to me.
A relative went to the stage to address his words for the couple.
"There is no better feeling than standing at your wedding in front of your best friend-your soulmate, your spouse-to-be, the love of your life. If you can beat the nerves, your wedding vows will enhance this special feeling, and share the love you feel with your new husband or wife, and all the friends and family who have gathered to celebrate your marriage. The best way to feel confident reading your wedding vows is to be prepared."
You can't be serious ??!!
They say that wedding is the best moment of one's life, but, I highly doubt it. It's assumed that everyone grows up fantasizing about meeting their soulmate and dreaming up the perfect wedding day before riding off into the sunset of lifetime marital bliss. Newsflash: marriage isn't for everyone. Whether you simply don't think it's crucial to your happiness, don't want to spend the money, or straight-up don't believe in it (for whatever reason), deciding not to get married is perfectly okay. Why can't others understand that ?
People don't really need to fall in love and get married. They can enjoy the life, as it is. When most people decide to get married, they have a very specific reason in mind-most commonly that they want to legalize their love for their partner. That doesn't mean everyone feels the same way, though. If you don't have a reason for wanting to tie the knot, don't feel like you have to. It's not a requirement of living a happy, fulfilled life, even if your friends make it seem that way.
Basically every romantic comedy ever revolves around someone finding the person who makes them feel whole. (You can thank Tom Cruise in Jerry Maguire for the iconic "you complete me" quote.) The hopeless romantics of the world want nothing more than to share their life with their soulmate, but if you don't feel like you need someone to complete you to be happy and satisfied with your life as it is, don't feel like something is wrong with you. It's totally okay to be your own soulmate.
I turn to Aphrodite's statue and ask if I am correct. I don't know why but the weather suddenly changed a little. The clear blue sky turned in a little darker shade and I could feel that Aphrodite doesn't agree with my idea of marriage and love.
I just smirked to myself.

Aphrodite's POV :-
"You need to calm down. There are other people there, who really want this wedding to go beautifully. We can't ruin it." Eros's words calm me a little, but, I am still not relieved.
How could she even think like that ?
And her audacity !! Speaking those words right before me !
"I will make you fall in love. Just wait for me. " I say as I touch the crystal ball which shows me the present world.
"I am going to meet Hera."
Eros looks at me for a long time before nodding.
I will not loose to you, Addilyn Fleur. Never.
