Paloma Diego-Castillo and Kitty Song Covey had been best friends for as long as they could remember. One rainy afternoon while rummaging through Kitty's attic, Paloma stumbled upon an old, dusty box filled with photographs. They were pictures of Kitty's mom and Paloma's mom together, smiling brightly in school uniforms with the words Korean Independent School of Seoul (KISS) emblazoned in the background. What if they followed in their mothers' footsteps and went to KISS themselves? Not just for the experience, but for the stories, the romance, the adventure. Kitty had already been doing long-distance with her boyfriend Dae, who lived in Seoul, and the thought of finally seeing him in person more often was thrilling. However, their dream required a plan—and most importantly, permission. Kitty and Paloma knew they couldn't just pack up and leave for Seoul without a formal proposal to their families. The next step was carefully crafting a convincing case to present to their loved ones. Together, they created a detailed presentation, complete with emotional appeals, historical connections to their moms, and, of course, the educational benefits of attending KISS.

First, they presented their idea to Kitty's dad, Dr. Covey, and Trina. Kitty passionately explained how meaningful it would be for her to learn more about her mother's past and strengthen her relationship with Dae. Paloma chimed in, sharing how their moms' bond at KISS had clearly shaped their lives and how this experience could give them the same life-changing friendships and stories. Dr. Covey was hesitant at first but eventually warmed up to the idea after seeing how much it meant to Kitty. Trina, always supportive, was on board as long as they promised to stay focused on schoolwork too.

Next was Paloma's turn. Since their parents were no longer around, Paloma had to convince her older sister, who had taken on a parental role in her life. Her sister was protective and cautious, so Paloma knew she had to tread carefully. She emphasized how safe the school was, how much Kitty's family supported the idea, and how it was a rare chance to explore their family history. Though reluctant, her sister eventually gave in, realizing how important this journey was for Paloma's growth and happiness.

With the green light from both families, it was official—they were going to KISS. The excitement was overwhelming. Kitty was practically bouncing with joy at the thought of seeing Dae more often and deepening their relationship beyond just texts and video calls. Paloma, on the other hand, felt a mix of nervousness and hope. She had always been the romantic dreamer of the two, and now she was determined to turn her fantasies into reality. Maybe, just maybe, Seoul would be the place where she found the love story she had always dreamed of.

The plane tickets were booked, bags packed, and goodbyes said. Kitty and Paloma were ready for the next chapter of their friendship—one filled with adventure, self-discovery, and the magic of KISS.
