Marisol Cervantes, once a cheerful and kind-hearted girl, saw a drastic change after her sister Sophie took her own life during their 7th-grade year. Overwhelmed by grief, Marisol withdrew from her closest friends, Eli Moskowitz and Demetri Alexoplous. The tragedy strained her parents' relationship, leading to a tumultuous divorce. Marisol's father gained full custody of her and her younger sister, Mila, and she lost contact with her mother, who was later revealed to be struggling with substance abuse.

A year later, Marisol's father married Natasha Kotov, who has proven to be an exceptional stepmother. Marisol deeply appreciates and prefers Natasha's caring nature over her strained relationship with her biological mother, Katherine. Natasha has become the supportive and nurturing figure Marisol never experienced with her mom.

In eighth grade, Marisol and Sam LaRusso became friends, forging a connection that blossomed into a meaningful relationship. They supported each other through tough times, sharing their first kisses and embarking on their initial romantic journey together.

During the summer of Sophomore Year, Sam abruptly ended their relationship with a hurtful text, stating, "We're over. You tried to make me gay, and I'm not gay." Marisol was left heartbroken by the sudden and callous breakup.

Seeking solace, she made her way to the first place that came to mind—Eli's. Though hesitant as she knocked on the door, Marisol found no regrets. Eli and Demetri welcomed her with forgiveness and comfort, easing the weight on her shoulders.

Resisting the urge to reach out to Sam proved challenging for Marisol; despite her persistent desire to text, Demetri intervened by taking away her phone. In moments of distress, Eli stepped in, providing comfort and solace as Marisol shed tears.

As school resumed, Eli and Demetri remained steadfast by Marisol's side, ensuring she didn't attempt to reach out to Sam. During this time, a new student, Miguel Diaz, joined their group and started sitting with them at lunch.

His interest in Sam was evident, fueling Marisol's jealousy. However, she lacked the courage to confess that Sam was her ex, having to intervene and stop Demetri from revealing the connection.

Upon discovering Miguel dating Sam, Marisol's anger erupted as she confronted him, pouring out her feelings before storming off to Eli's house in tears. It was there, amid emotional turmoil, that Marisol and Eli shared their first kiss, prompting her to realize her burgeoning feelings for him.

Will she choose Eli or Sam in the end?
