Chapter twenty eight,

moments before disaster

EVERYONE HAD EASILY AGREED to just spending the entire night at the carpenter's household for simple safety precautions, also just in case Ghostface decides to make another call, or surprise visit.

It was how Jasmine was occupying the bathroom and had been using her boyfriends comfortable sweatpants, "I'll talk to you in the morning, Aunt Gale. I love you." She softly told her Aunt, hanging up the phone.

   Opening the bathroom door only to jump when she was faced with Jodie, "Shit don't do that, Jodie." Jasmine had her hand placed on her heart.

   Jodie chuckled, ". . . I'm sorry, I just came here to wash my hands, I was helping Tara in the kitchen." She felt her cheeks redden before she turned serious, "You really need to cut her some slack, she's been through so much." She calmly said.

   Jasmine raised her own eyebrow at the girls simple remark into gaslighting her, "And what I haven't?" She didn't want to be too loud, yet she had captured her cousins attention, "You're defending the girl who hasn't noticed you until you had given her advil two nights ago." She had deadpanned.

Jodie who frowned, "You've kept a secret from her, you didn't tell her that your dad had escaped prison. . ." She had shook her head in simple disproval, "You lied to everyone, and are possibly now risking everyone's life with your psycho dad who's out on the loose." She whispered harshly.

Jasmine who didn't know how to respond with, so she let her instinct get the best of her, slapping her in the face cheek, a gasp escaped Jodie's lips, "Listen, Jodie don't you ever come to my fucking face, calling my dad a psycho. . ." She had gritted through her own teeth as she harshly whispered in her ear, "Or. . . I'll —"

   Jodie who hurt glared down at her, "You'll kill me?" She had to refrain herself from killing Jasmine, as it wasn't fucking time yet. The girl will soon fucking pay for what her father did to her Aunt in the early two thousands.

   Anika decided to intervene after she heard Jodie commented, "I think that's enough of you being near her, stay away. Please?" She sternly  told the girl.

   Jasmine had ultimately allowed Anika to just pull her away only for the glare she had fixated on her friend not leave, "It's fucking tempting, Jodie. And, you know I would. . ." She harshly snapped, "Fucking bitch!" She had flicked her off.

Anika easily soothing her arms, "You need to calm down, Minnie. You're working yourself up so much, lately." Her eyes were just laced with so much concern, "Do you want me to call Gale or Santiago to pick you up, I don't want Tara or Jodie stressing you out." She m pulled her arm away in quick search to grab her phone only for her cousin to stop her actions.

Jasmine shook her head, "I'm fine — I'm going to go to the kitchen, uhm. . ." She quickly defended her actions before instantly walking towards the kitchen, eyes just glancing at Chad who smiled at her, "Tell them that you liked the name that I've given us!" He pointed at at his girlfriend.

   Jasmine in a very joking way just to tease him, "I mean. . . It's an alright nickname, buddy," She slowly approached her boyfriend who wrapped his arms around her entire body, he had just playfully scoffed and had felt a little kick from their baby, "I know Autumn likes the name — But, you know I would actually like a little more respect and support from my fellow forever five members —" He had argued only to get interrupted by Anika who was speaking in a very panic tone.

"Guys! What the hell!"

It had instantly made everyone quickly gather around the living room, as their eyes focused onto the television, all while Anika had raised the volume a bit louder.

"We're hearing sources from the inside Homicide devision that prime suspects are none other than Samantha Carpenter and Jasmine Altieri. Two of the survivors of the Woodsboro killings in 2022 — seen here is Sam just attacking a woman on the street, and Jasmine simply threatening her. She along her mother were found murdered last night. In the wait of the Woodsboro tragedy last year, rumors sprout up here online that Carpenter and Altieri were both actually responsible for the killings, and both blaming their crimes on the Carpenter's late boyfriend Richard Kirsch, and Altieri's late ex boyfriend Dean Carter and Amber Free—"

   Samantha had turned the television off, and just walking away to just sit down in the dining room in just frustration, all while Tara followed after her sister.

   Chad pulling his girlfriend in his arms, and wrapping his arms around her, "You're not a bad person, sweetheart." He had kissed the top of her head, reassuring her, "The news is just a bunch of complete bullshit, you're not what they say." He retorted.

   Mindy who had instantly nodded her head agreeing with her twin brother, "Exactly! You're not a bad person, or anything they claim to say, that is just complete bullshit. You're our Jasmine Altieri who simply makes us pancakes no matter what time it is, and hypes up Chad's nonsense shit." She pointed at her finger at her brother who felt offended.

Jasmine felt her lips tremble at their kind words, "You're also the most sweetest person to exist, Minnie. You're a good person, and will be the best mom to exist, I love you." Anika softly told her cousin.

All while, Jodie remained silent.

Ignoring her phone buzzing.

Jasmine sniffled, "Thanks guys, I love you too." She smiled at her cousin, all while Chad had interrupted, "What about me, Minnie?" He playfully pouted.

Jasmine playfully scoffed, "I love you!"

He grinned, "I love you more, sweetheart."

The five had instantly overheard what Samantha had said, and all slowly approaching her, "Hey, just a reminder not a single person in this room hates you," Chad had reassured the older Carpenter sister, "We have all been through some fucked up stuff, and we're coping differently." He easily pointed out.

Jasmine nodded her head at her boyfriends encouraging words, "Exactly. I've told you this once, and I'll remind you everyday, Sam." She slowly began, "You're not, Billy Loomis. You're Samantha Carpenter, a badass." She smiled at her.

Sam smiled despite a tear rolling down her eye, all while Tara felt a sense of jealousy just bubbling inside of her. Despised how Jasmine can easily relate with her sister, and both can easily bond.

Chad who was just looking at his girlfriend, Jasmine in simple pure adoration, speaking back up, "We all moved here together for one specific reason. . ." He had cautiously began speaking to them, "We're a team." He smiled at them.

Sam felt herself tearing up.

Mindy began speaking to them, a smile was just on her face, "We're the forever five. . ." Her fist was just in the air just waving it around, all while Chad had complimented his twin sister for agreeing with him, "I hate you!" She had laughed high-fiving her brother.

   Chad simply grinning at each and every one of them, and slightly getting up to give Jasmine a quick kiss on the lips before he had sat back down, "That's what I'm talking about. Forever Five!" He whistled.

   Jasmine had slowly turned around, eyes quickly focusing on her cousin who was just sitting alone, "I'll be right back."

   Cautiously approaching her cousin, Anika Kayoko, "You okay?" She had slowly sat right beside her.

   Anika smiling, "Yeah. Why wouldn't I be?"

   Jasmine began speaking to her in just pure honesty, "I just — I feel guilty you're at risk because you're related to me, and being related to me it means. . ." She paused not wanting to say it.

   Anika finished her cousins sentence, "Being related to Mickey Altieri in a way."She ended, as she had then taken her cousins hands into very own, "Getting to know you is the biggest blessing, and I wouldn't have it any other way. Like I've told you once before, I don't care who your dad is because you're all that truly matters to me." She kissed her cousins forehead.

   Jodie just eyed them in simple amusement as they aren't ready for tonight, "Lame." She had whispered mumbled to herself, eyes glancing at her phone buzzing.

   Suppressing her smile.

   Though, loud shouting had captured their attention as they all instantly ran towards the middle, Chad pulling Jasmine near him with one of his arms wrapped around her waist, and protecting her stomach, all while his other arm was gently gripping her arm.

   Silence was surfacing the room, all while Mindy ultimately said one word, "Run." It was then that Quinn's bedroom was kicked opened, and her body dropping and landing on top of Anika.

   Ghostface appearing in their view.

   Chad out of instinct tugged Jasmine with him, "Come on, Minnie." The both not even looking back, as they assumed everyone was right behind them. 

      Except, no one in the room was even aware that another figure was hidden in the shadows, and also in the middle of this chaos to protect his daughters friends.
