The ringing of the school bell shook Judith Tozier out of her peaceful dream, her head shooting up from resting on her arms on the desk as the classroom lights flipped on, the students running out of the building excitedly. Jude gave herself and her eyes a moment to adjust to the bright lights before packing up her things and leaving her English classroom for the last time; until the next school year, of course.

She headed down the hall out of her classroom into the girls' bathroom, when she quickly regretted her choice, as she heard Greta Keene and her gang of goons messing with someone.

"... Do you have half the guys in the school with you, huh, slut?" Greta began as she kicked the door of a bathroom stall. Out of the corner of her eye she noticed Jude walk in, a wicked grin forming on her face. "Oh, hey Prude! You gonna join her in there? Maybe suck a dick in there while you're at it? I'm sure she wouldn't mind sharing, there's probably at least two guys in there with her."

Jude just rolled her eyes and ignored her as she walked over to the sink to wash her hands. Greta continued to mess with the girl in the stall, Jude noticing one of her goons grab a bag full of trash. Jude's eyes grew wide when she recognized the voice replying to Greta as Beverly Marsh.

"You're trash. We just wanted to remind you," Greta smirked. Suddenly Jude saw the girls lift the bag over Beverly's stall, watching through the mirror's reflection in shock as garbage poured into the stall.

"Well, at least now you'll smell better," Greta laughed. Just as she was about to walk out, Jude grabbed her by the arm, yanking her towards her. "What the hell, Prude?! Let go of me, you piece of shit!"

"Greta, I just wanted to remind you that the only one who's a piece of trash around here? Well, my dear, that'd be none other than you. I can smell your cheap drugstore perfume you probably bought at your father's pharmacy from across the hall, and that's not a compliment," Jude snickered. "Leave Beverly alone and go fuck yourself."

Greta scoffed as she pried her arm out of Jude's grip. She opened her mouth to reply, but before she could, her friends dragged her away, Jude feeling a bit victorious from mouthing off to Greta Keene without suffering the consequences.

"Hey, um, you good in there?" Jude asked as she gently knocked on Beverly's stall. "They're gone, by the way."

Beverly swung open the door, her backpack covered in wet garbage as she gave Jude a small nod. "I'm fine. I could care less about that shit Greta does, by the way, but thanks. You didn't have to do that."

"It was nothing, really. It actually felt pretty great telling Greta off," Jude replied as Beverly went up to the sink to wash her face. "Kinda wish I added that she's a bitch into that, though. I think she deserves to know what half the school thinks of her."

"So telling her to go fuck herself wasn't enough for you?" Beverly asked with a small laugh as she looked up from the sink and at Jude through the mirror's reflection. Jude laughed in reply, "I think it was satisfying for now, but there's so much more I'd love to say to her. But it's summer and I don't need to think or worry about Greta anymore."

"That's true, and a relief," Beverly grabbed a paper towel from the dispenser and wiped the water off her face.

"Um, by the way..." Jude began as Beverly turned around to face her, raising an eyebrow in question. "I'm sorry she always picks on you and spreads those nasty rumors... what I'm trying to say is, for what it's worth, I don't believe them."

"Good to know," Beverly's lips curled into a smile, one that caused Jude's heart to stop beating for a second, and she didn't know why. "Maybe I'll see you around." She then gave Jude a small wave before heading out of the bathroom, leaving Jude to wonder if Beverly even knew her name.
