Lilith stood in front of a candle in the backyard of the Black residence while the pack stood around her, watching intently. She isn't sure how she exactly came to agreeing to this stupid idea, but, there she was, doing it anyway and she's cursing her every decision leading up to it.

"Are you ready to do this?" Embry asked her, slightly nervous for what was to come.

"No." Lilith answered truthfully. In fact, she was terrified, mainly because of what she knew would immediately follow, but, she needed to be somewhat brave for the rest of the back and not let them know she was one small move away from just dropping everything and running home. And while she hated running, she hated this idea even more, "Do I look ready?" She asked, her face faltering a little as she let a look of terror slip past her barrier.

"It'll be fine, just try not to set the entire forrest on fire." Jared said supportively as he held his thumbs up towards her.

Lilith didn't think she would be able to set alight the candle in front of her, let alone the whole forrest, but, his sarcastic comment really wasn't helping at that moment—it would any other time, it would make her laugh, but, it was stressing her out instead, "I'll try not to, but, you're not doing a very good job in convincing me to not set you on fire instead." Lilith sang as she rocked on her feet and Jared's smile dropped along with his hands while Paul chuckled.

"Maybe you can set Jake on fire instead of Jared." Paul suggested, "Like, why does he get to nap while we're out here helping you? Isn't this what he wanted?" Jake had requested at least an hour nap before they began to try to help Lilith, the pack could tell he was exhausted as he was picking up patrol shifts every night just so he could slip passed Bella's to speak with her. After the hour, he said he would come out and help, but, the pack couldn't wait that long.

"Maybe because he was on patrol last night and you weren't." Embry pointed out, "And don't act like you don't want Lilith's magic back either. Think about all the cool stuff she'll be able to do when she does."

"Even with all that magic, she still won't be able to get you a girlfriend." Jared snickered to Embry, and the boy whacked him in the stomach immediately, causing him to double over due to being winded by the hit.

"You boys aren't helping." Sam interrupted them, his tone completely serious. Sam had decided to watch and be there to supervise in case anything went wrong and he was glad he was there because if he wasn't, he could see how badly it would've turned out if he wasn't there to pull the boys in line, "Let her concentrate."

Lilith shot over an appreciative look to Sam before looking at the candle once again and taking in a deep breath. The girl slowly raised her hand, keeping her eye on the candle wick as she tried to concentrate on that and only that, clearing her mind of any other thoughts and doubts she had swirling in there.

She opened her mouth, about to speak, when Jared stepped in front of her line of view in a panic. "Stop!" He yelled and the girl blinked before dropping her stance.

"What now?" Paul snapped at him, running a hand over his face at how dumb Jared was for jumping in front of her line of fire when she was about to literally set what was in front of her on fire.

"It just doesn't feel right!" Jared exclaimed, trying to defend his decision on why he decided to stop them, "Like shouldn't the setting be a lot more different than this? Like why are we doing this in the middle of the day and shouldn't we have a hunch of herbs and gems spread around the area? The vibe just isn't right."

"I'm trying to light a candle, not place a hex on someone." Lilith said to him, incredulously. Lighting a candle was fairly simple when she had magic, and it didn't take much effort at all. It was only larger spells that required the works—like the moonlight, the candles, the stones and gems, the herbs and anything else it might need depending on the spell. She had no idea what kind of things Jared had been reading up on and where it said witches would need all of that to just light a candle.

"Jared, get out of the way." Sam groaned and the boy pouted as he moved back to his previous spot next to Embry, "Try again, Lil."

Any confidence she might of had previously was now gone, it was a spur of the moment 'let's do it!' sort of thing, but, reality had kicked in and she no longer wanted to do it anymore. The pain was too much and she would rather pass on feeling that way again. Lilith bit her lip and she shook her head, "I can't." She whispered and the boys let out a disappointed sigh.

"It's okay, we'll try again another day." Sam said as he patted her on the shoulder and began to walk back towards the house.

"Idiot." Paul grumbled as he lightly shoved Jared to the side. They would've made progress that day if it weren't for him jumping in front of her and opening his mouth.

"What's going on?" Lilith heard and her head snapped around to see her parents standing nearby, her eyes widened as she wasn't expecting them to be there at all that day.

Both Oliver and Sierra looked confused as to what was happening and why the pack boys were all standing around Lilith and a singular candle in Jacob Black's backyard. They had been having meetings with Sam regularly ever since Lilith befriended the pack, she believed it was going on long before they had ever met, but, they were happening more frequently nowadays. But, they weren't supposed to be there today—and she had no idea why it had been moved to Jake's place.

"Oh, we're just helping Lilith get her magic back." Jared responded truthfully, completely forgetting the part where they weren't supposed to tell her parents that she had lost her magic.

"What?" Both Oliver and Sierra questioned simultaneously, their heads turning to face Lilith in shock. She had lost her magic? And for how long?

"Idiot!" Paul snapped again, shoving Jared a little harder that time. Paul now knew to never trust Jared with a secret and realised how bad he was at keeping them.

"He's joking." Embry quickly interjected, trying to cover for Lilith so she could tell them on her own time, "We were just trying to see if Lilith could make one of us float."

"And you needed a singular candle for that?" Sierra asked as she pointed at the candle on the ground, not believing what any of them were saying for a second. The woman then shrugged, "Okay, then continue what you're doing. We'll watch." She said, trying to catch them in a lie.

"Um..." Lilith trailed, trying to think of what to say to get them out of this situation or figure out how to fake it to the point that her parents believed them even though there was barely anything that got passed them in the first place. Lilith was only ever able to hide the fact that she didn't have her magic anymore because she rarely ever used it in the first place, and they had assumed that the dying flora around them was her magic and they hadn't seen anything change for months because it was all dead and it looked like it was staying that way for a while.

"That's what we thought." Sierra pursed her lips as she looked at the pack boys, "Do you mind if he have a private chat with our daughter?"

Lilith felt like throwing up in that moment, she wasn't ready to tell them and now she was practically being thrown in the deep end about it. How the hell was she supposed to explain this? She had no idea why she had lost it and for how long it'll be gone for—if it'll ever come back in the first place. She couldn't explain any of it and she couldn't give them a solution on how she was trying to get it back.

"Sorry, Lil." Jared winced as he watched her follow her parents up to Jacob's home with a large frown on her face and her shoulders slumped.

She didn't know what she should expect as soon as they got some privacy from the wolves, but, she knew it could either go really good or really bad and she hoped it wasn't the latter. The girl felt like walking slower to prolong the inevitable and she could hear her heart beat thump louder and louder with every step she took towards the little red home. Lilith had wished she had taken Emily and Bella's advice to tell her parents earlier so she could have the upper hand in this conversation instead of the other way around.

When the family stepped inside, Billy Black gave them a confused look as to why the family had separated themselves from the pack, "I'm about to get yelled at." Lilith explained to the man, to which he bit back a chuckle.

"Well, don't be too loud. Jacob's still sleeping." He responded as he began to wheel himself away from the room to give them some privacy.

Oliver waited a moment before he believed that Billy was out of hearing range before turning to face his daughter who looked extremely nervous. The girl was rocking on her feet, keeping her eyes down at the floor as she fidgeted with her fingers.

All in all, she looked extremely guilty.

"You know..." Oliver started, causing Lilith to slightly jump at his voice and meet her brown eyes with his, "When we talk about this whole trust thing, we expect it to go both ways." With all the arguments that they had about himself and Sierra not telling Lilith about the wolves and the vampires in town, they had expected that Lilith would have the same courtesy and let them know about other things as well such as this.

     "Papa—"

Oliver held his hand up to stop her from talking, "How long has this been going on for?" He questioned. He didn't exactly want to hear excuses, he needed to know the issue down to the last detail so he could fix it before it got any worse.

"Ever since he left." The blonde girl answered quietly, "The things dying around me was out of my control, but, it was the only thing I could do after a short while. Now I can't even do that."

"Why didn't you tell us?" Sierra's eyes softened at her response.

"Because I was scared!" Lilith finally snapped, "I didn't want to admit it, but, I'm scared! This has never happened before and I didn't know what to do. It felt like it was my fault that my magic left, and it felt like my fault that Edward left, too! Everything is always my fault and I didn't want you to realise that and think of me as a disappointment."

"We could never think of you that way, monkey." Sierra shook her head, her eyes tearing up as she couldn't believe her own daughter could think so lowly of herself. Edward had definitely shattered the brightness that was Lilith and she hated it.

"I don't need you to coddle me right now." Lilith scoffed, "I'm going to find a way to fix this because I'm the one that got myself into this mess."

"Don't be stubborn, this is a serious matter. We're going to help you and I don't want to hear any complaints either. We'll get through this and we could never be disappointed in you ever." Oliver argued lightly, "You're our daughter, and we help each other. But, we can't help if we don't know what's happening."

"I tried to figure it out before I came to you about it." The blonde informed them as she ran a hand over her hair. "But, Magda disappeared right after she said she would help—and I actually had hope that would be able to figure it out with me. I've been lost ever since." Both Oliver and Sierra shared a worried look at the mention of Magda that went missed by Lilith as she looked in her own world of guilt and shame.

Oliver opened his mouth to respond when they heard a knocking sound at the door, the Bailey family snapping their heads towards it seeing Bella on the outside looking in. Billy went towards the door and opened it, "Bella." He greeted.

"I need to see him." Bella stated, shoving her hands in her pockets.

"He's not in." He lied, Jake hadn't told him that Bella would be stopping by and he didn't know if he wanted her to, so he thought it would be best to say that to save himself a possible bad situation with his ex girlfriend.

Bella paused for a moment before pushing her way in, walking right passed Billy, "Look, I'm sorry, I really need to see him." She insisted despite Billy's protests.

"Looks like she's finally figured it out." Lilith mumbled to herself.

Bella made her way through the house with intent, giving the Bailey family who stood in the kitchen frozen a ridicule face, "What are you guys doing here?" She asked her best friend and her family.

"Arguing." Lilith answered, "What are you doing here?"

"About to argue." She responded as she made her way to Jacob's room. She opened the door seeing Jake dead asleep, the girl sighing a little in disappointment as she was expecting him be awake to let him know she remembered the story and to yell at him for not telling her sooner. She then heard a wolf call and Bella's head snapped up to the window seeing four men walking back towards the house and the brunette's blood began to boil as she left through the back door and stormed her way towards them.

Billy looked at Lilith who looked slightly confused as to what was happening. The blonde girl quickly snapped out of her daze and quickly chased after her friend who was yelling out towards the pack boys, "What did you do?" She snapped. Sam didn't answer and Bella rushed forward to shove him, "What did you do to him?"

"Bella!" Lilith hissed, grabbing onto her friend's arm and away from the alpha when she saw the other pack members turn angry for her putting her hands on Sam.

"Easy." Sam commanded them, putting his arm up and holding them back.

"He didn't want this!" Bella continued.

"What did we do?" Paul questioned, getting into Bella's face, "What did he do, hmm? What'd he tell you? Because he definitely wants this now."

Sam pulled back Paul while Lilith pulled back Bella, knowing a human girl wouldn't hold up very well in a fight with a werewolf, "Both of you, calm down." He ordered.

"Nothing." She answered Paul, "He tells me nothing because he's scared of you." The pack began to laugh at what she had just said as if it was the funniest thing in the world, which Bella didn't like one bit, the girl swinging her arm back and Pail in the face causing Lilith gasp and cover her mouth in shock that her friend had actually just hit someone.

And that someone just had to be Paul.

"Out of all of them, that one was the one you chose to hit!?" Lilith squeaked in Bella's ear knowing Paul's anger issues were about to hit the roof. She then looked at the pack, "Someone do something!"

Paul back at Bella with rage, shaking as his eyes turned black, shoulders puffing as he bit out growls at her, "Too late now." Jared remarked.

"Bella, Lilith, get back!" Sam ordered and Lilith didn't hesitate yanking Bella back even further knowing what was going to happen next, "Paul! Calm down now, you can't hurt her. You know the rules!" He ordered as Paul began to growl deeper and further, his eyes stuck on Bella.

The wolf then snarled and his body lunges forward, hair growing from his skin and within seconds he turned into a fully grown wolf, the human girl cowering in fear from it as the wolf snapped at her and raised his paw. Lilith's eyes flared as she raised her arms trying to create a shield between them but instantly dropping it once more and wincing, "Nope, still can't do that." She said to herself, turning to her friend, "Bella, run!"

The girl didn't hesitate as she immediately turned the other direction and started to run as fast as she could towards the little red house. "Bella!" She heard Jacob call out as he hopped over the railing and started to run towards Paul and the pack.

"Run!" Bella said to her ex boyfriend. Jacob kept running towards them as Lilith followed after her friend, not particularly wanting to be around an angry werewolf, "Jake, run!"

Jake leaped over Bella and shifted mid air, his clothes tearing during the transformation, causing Bella to fall to the ground as Lilith stared in wonder, her head following Jacob as he landed on all fours and growled at Paul warningly. The two wolves growled at each other, psyching each other out before they pounced and the two began to bite, snap and scratch at each other, tumbling around while they tried to get their teeth around each other's throats.

"Paul!" The pack yelled at him, trying to get the both of them to stop as they continued to fight and tumble into the woods.

"Hey. Take Bella and Lilith back to Emily's place." Sam ordered the pack when he noticed Bella's fearful look at what she had just seen.

"Guess the wolf's finally out of the bag." Jared remarked as he followed Sam's order, running towards the car while Bella and Lilith followed, the girl texting her parents to go home and that she would be okay when she saw them watching from the window of inside the house with Billy.
