chapter 19 - A Curious Thing
Flashback - One Year Ago
Enchanted Forest
Day - Road
Dragon!Saphira and Dragon!Mathias were flying Belle, Tori, Alcina, Freya, Jefferson, Grace and Lisa through the forest at top speed.

Dark Palace
Regina, Emma, Snow and David were waiting for them, having an argument, with Aurora and Philip present.
"You've gathered the entire kingdom for this?" Emma asked. "There's two wicked witches out there, just waiting to pounce, and pretending otherwise would be dangerous."
"There's nothing dangerous about rallying our people," David told them.
"You're announcing you're pregnant," Regina told them. "It's not like you invented the wheel."
The Matthews, Hatters, Alcina and Belle walked in.
"What's this?" David asked.
Snow sighed in relief to see them, going over to hug her best friend. "Freya."
"Are you okay?" Emma asked. "When you and Neal disappeared, we feared the worst."
"We went off to see if we could revive the Dark One," Mathias explained.
"What happened?" Regina asked.
"Neal was able to resurrected him," Alcina answered sadly. "At the cost of his own life."
Regina was pleased. "Rumple's alive."
Snow was shocked. "Neal is dead?"
"I think so," Lisa answered.
"To which?" David asked.
"Both," Lisa answered. "You see, when Rumple saw that Neal as dying, he absorbed him."
"Zelena and Faye got hold of the dagger," Grace explained. "Now, they control Grandpa."
Aurora gave Philip a worried look. "Maybe now isn't the time to announce the pregnancy. Regina and Emma are right. It's too dangerous."
"No, if we don't, we give into fear," Snow told them. "But if we do, we give the kingdom what they need. Hope."
"We don't even know what these witches want," David told them.
"Actually, we do," Aurora told them. "They want your baby."
"They came to us when you were gone, threatened us and our unborn child, unless we told her when you arrived in our land," Philip explained.
"They think your baby could be important," Aurora told them. "I'm so sorry. They said they'd hurt us."
Startled by a gush of wind, they turned around. Dragon!Faye flew in with Zelena, returning to human form with a swirl of blue/green smoke.
Zelena looked at Aurora and Philip. "And we make good on our promises."
Aurora and Philip backed away in fear, but Zelena engulfed both of them in green smoke, transforming them into flying monkeys. They both shrieked and flew away.
"What do you want with the baby?" Jefferson asked.
"Calm down, Jefferson," Faye told him. "You don't want your madness to send Snow into early labor."
When Freya, Regina, Lisa, Grace, Jefferson, Saphira, Mathias and Alcina prepared to use magic to fight back, Zelena used the dagger to call forth Rumplestiltskin and make him freeze them in place, and Snow.
"Papa..." Freya trailed off.
"Stay away from them," Saphira told them.
Faye smirked. "Oh, someone's testy."
"Enough," Tori told them. "This is between you two and our families."
Zelena walked up to Snow. "Now, let's see if this was all worth it. Yes, yes, it was. This child will do quite nicely. So, take good care of it for us. Don't forget to eat well. We will be back for your happy day, and what's yours will be ours."
Faye chuckled as she let Rumplestiltskin free them.

Eight Months Later
Day - Dark Palace - Council Room
The group was gathered, with Belle, Derek, Robin, Granny, and Grumpy.
"Lisa?" Mathias asked. "Tell us you found something."
"I've been to Blue, Tink, all the fairies," Lisa explained. "They've been scouring the forest for enchanted items to destroy them, but they got zilch. They say they're just too powerful."
Snow was terrified. "It's happening again. I'm about to give birth, and two evil sorceresses are threatening the future of my child."
"To be fair, I'm not the one that threatened you when you had kids or was going to," Alcina told her.
"And the first time, I was threatening you," Regina added. "Everyone else just became collateral damage."
"Remind me again why we forgave them," Grumpy told them.
"Because we're helping," Alcina answered. Robin chuckled. "Snow, David, you had a head start to defeat Regina last time. How?"
"We were warned," David answered. "By Lisa. And Rumplestiltskin."
"Maybe Papa can warn us again," Freya told them.
"Wait," Jefferson told her. "You wanna sneak into Rumple's castle? Where he's held captive by Fatale and the Wicked Witch? Cilla, I know you're hurting. But there's desperate and then there's suicide."
Freya sighed. "Jefferson..."
"You're right, Papa," Grace told him. "It is crazy. But for the baby... We'll do whatever it takes."
"Heartwarming," Saphira told them. "He's trapped in his own castle. Mama, Aunt Belle, you were prisoner there. Freya, you used to live there."
"Yes," Tori agreed. "But breaking in? I would have no idea how."
"Then who does?" Mathias asked.
"Luckily, I do," Freya told them. "I used to live there. I figured out ways to sneak in and out without Papa noticing."
'How about without the Wicked Witch or Fatale noticing?" Mathias asked.
"We can help," Robin answered. "Me and Derek. We're thieves, after all. Breaking in is what we do."
Emma scoffed. "Why are we even listening to them? Like he said, they're thieves, which means they're not to be trusted. What are you two even still doing here?"
"What we're doing here is saving your asses," Derek answered. "Not only has Priscilla lived in that castle, but so have Robin and I. The castle has traps, and deadly ones."
"Not more deadly than my magic," Regina told them.
"They are if you don't see them coming," Derek told them.
"Maybe I'm okay with taking my chances," Alcina told them.
Freya stopped the bickering. "All right. You may be, but we're not. They're coming."

Storybrooke
Day One
Morning - Matthews House - Saphira's Room
Saphira and Derek were making out, pulling away.
"What do you see in a pirate?" Saphira asked.
"Hopefully the same thing you see in a thief," Derek replied. "A second chance. And you're quite a good kisser."
Saphira chuckled. "I should get going. They're all waiting for me at the Hatter House."
Derek nodded in understanding. "Wait." He smiled, pulling her back for one last kiss. "Good luck."
Saphira smiled, biting her lip contently, walking off.
ღ
Hatter House - Foyer
Emma was hiding in another room, while Henry walked toward the front door to leave, just as Regina walked in.
Regina smiled. "Henry. Good morning."
Henry was still unable to recognize her. "Morning. Um, excuse me, Madame Mayor."
Stunned, Regina watched Henry walk out of the house.
Emma walked toward Regina. "Are you all right?"
"No, Emma, I'm not all right," Regina answered. "But they're waiting for us. We should go."
Emma nodded in agreement.
ღ
Living Room
Regina, Emma and Saphira walked in to join everyone, but Killian was not there yet. Saphira was smiling, much to the surprise of others.
"Saphira, if I didn't know any better, I'd say you look smitten," Snow told her.
Saphira chuckled. "If I didn't know any better, I'd say Haagen-Dasz is smitten with your stomach."
"Can we get started?" Freya asked.
"We were waiting for Hook," Ella told them.
Jefferson waved a hand. "We don't have time to wait for the handless wonder. We have to figure out how to stop Faye and Zelena."
"I agree with Jefferson," David told them. "Stopping their plan is the priority."
"There's something about this plan that doesn't fit," Ella told them. "Tori, Saphira, Mathias, Alcina and Regina."
"They're the point of it," Grace told her. "So they could take their lives for themselves."
"Faye was in trouble with Zelena because she went out of their way to spend an entire day with her family posing as Ariel," Lisa pointed out. "She may not be on our side. But I don't think she's completely on Zelena's, either."
"Yeah," Rose agreed. "And why bring you back to Storybrooke? Why bring any of us?"
"Well, no one's every succeeded at traveling through time," Tori told them. "Perhaps something from this world makes it possible. But what's almost as troubling is that they were able to cast the Curse to bring us all here in the first place."
"Why is that?" Ella asked.
"To do it, you have to give up the thing you love most," Mathias answered. "From what we gather, Zelena and Faye don't love much. Besides each other, I mean."
"Faye and Zelena are smart," Alcina told them. "Strategic. Perhaps we discovered something in the missing year to stop them."
Freya pointed at Alcina, nodding. "And then, the only way to stop us from interfering was to bring us back here and wipe our memories. So if we get our memories back, we might already know how to defeat them."
"We just need to break this Curse," David told them.
"Well, thank goodness we have the Savior, Protector and Light Bringer," Snow told them.
"We would love to, but there's one problem," Emma told them. "Last time, all it took was Ella believing in magic and kissing Henry and Rose. On top of Freya, Lisa, Jefferson, Tori and Saphira facing down a Dragon to get Lisa's wand back because her power was used to create that Curse."
"But Lisa's power wasn't used for this Curse, was it?" Ella asked. "I mean, she's had her wand this entire time. All she needed from me was true love's kiss to create magic to make it work again."
"It's the belief," Jefferson realized. "Henry. He needs to believe. In this new life, he doesn't. We have to get him to believe again."
"So what?" Rose asked. "We put on a magic show?"
"Ella?" Regina asked. "Emma? How did you believe?"
Emma shrugged. "The book. Lisa's storybook."
"That's what started me on getting my memories back," Lisa told them. "On me getting Henry and Rose to believe."
"It got you three started on your original path," Tori finished. "And what got Emma and Ella to believe."
Grace got excited. "It's the key. In him believing. In him remembering. Remembering everything."
"That's not necessarily a gift," Mathias told them. "He's been through a lot of tough stuff."
"And some good stuff," Saphira added. "Either way? It's our best bet."
Snow nodded in agreement. "They're right."
"I know," Rose told them. "Let's find it."

Flashback - Four Months Ago
Enchanted Forest
Night - Dark Palace
The group made their way into the castle. Regina walked up to a door, intending to open it.
"Regina, I wouldn't," Freya told her.
Derek quickly shot an arrow at the door. The impact disarmed a trap the door was provided with.
Regina gasped. "That arrow almost took off my head."
"Well, that door almost took off your arm," Derek replied. "Where I come from, a simple thank you would suffice."
Regina replied in a scorning tone. "Where you come from, people bathe in the river and use pine cones for money."
Tori rolled her eyes. "Come on. Let's go."
They made their way into a room where Rumplestiltskin spent his time spinning.
"Rumplestiltskin?" Saphira asked.
Rumplestiltskin giggled. "Rumple, bumple isn't here. Rumple, bumble gone, my dear."
"What's wrong with him?" David asked.
"He's lost his mind," Emma told them.
"On the contrary," Mathias answered. "Now he has two. Two minds."
Rumplestiltskin spoke in a rhyme. "Two minds, mining time, digging deeper in the grime."
"What are they doing to him?" Belle asked in horror.
"Nothing that can't be undone," Alcina answered. "Rumple, we need your help. How do we stop Zelena and Faye?"
"Round and round, the circle of time, racing towards the fishing line," Rumplestiltskin recited.
Tori sighed. "This is pointless."
"Let me try," Belle told them, approaching Rumple's cage, speaking softly. "Hey. Hey, Rumple." She reached with one hand through the bars to touch him lightly. Startled, Rumple turned to face her. "Hey. Hey. I know you're in there. I know you can hear me. How do we stop Faye and Zelena?"
Rumplestiltskin whispered. "Light."
"What?" Freya asked. "Papa."
Grace stepped closer worriedly. "Grandpa? What?"
"Light magic," Rumplestiltskin answered. "The Good Witch of the South, Glinda."
"Glinda?" Snow repeated. "But south of what? Oz?"
"No, banished here," Rumplestiltskin answered. "The Good Witch of the South was banished north. North of the Dark Forest."
"How do we find her?" Jefferson asked. "Rumple. In the Dark Forest, how do we find her?"
Rumplestiltskin giggled. "Through the door, step inside, if pure of heart, then she won't hide."

Day - Hatter House - Living Room
Everyone was still gathered.
Tori hung up her phone. "Gold's was a dead end. That was Belle. No book in the shop."
"Lisa, you said the last place you saw it, it was in your room," David told her.
"Yes," Lisa answered. "But it's not there. Swept away by the last Curse."
"A book can't just disappear," David told them.
"But it can just appear," Freya told them. "The first Curse. It just showed up in my closet when Jefferson and I both got our memories back. When Lisa needed it."
"What do you mean?" Ella asked.
"She was going through a rough time," Jefferson answered. "She was in the foster system and believed no one loved her. She didn't feel like she had a real family because she didn't remember us."
"So she needed to believe in happy endings again," Grace realized. "That's what the book gave her."
"Well, now it's Henry who needs to believe again," Saphira told them. "In fact, I think we all do."
"Hey, Cilla," Alcina told her. "What do you think we go check your closet?"
Freya smirked.
ღ
Granny's Diner
Ella and Rose walked toward Henry to talk to him.
"Hey, kid," Ella told him. "We got to run. I got to check on a lead."
"I'm gonna hang out with some other friends," Rose told him. "You're okay to stay here longer? We'll call you later."
Henry watched Ella and Rose leave.
ღ
Outside
Henry followed Ella and Rose outside. "Where are you really going?"
They turned to face him.
"We told you," Rose told him. "Mom's following a lead. I'm hanging out with friends."
"Lisa and Grace?" Henry asked. "Non-Operation Dynamo stuff?" Rose nodded. "And what lead?"
"It's my job, it's complicated," Ella told him.
"Is this about the person who killed our dad?" Henry asked.
Ella nodded reluctantly. "Yes."
"Then tell us," Henry told her.
"It would just be easier once it's all solved, Henry," Ella told him.
"You've been lying to me ever since we got here," Henry told them. "I deserve to know everything."
"And you will, okay?" Rose asked. "Soon. We all will. So you just gonna have to deal with this for now, okay?"
Henry nodded. "Yeah, okay." Ella and Rose nodded, turning to leave. "Wait, Mom, I need your keys. I left mine in the room and if I'm gonna be a prisoner, I'd like to have my Game Boy."
Ella handed him the keys. Henry went through Granny's to the back to get to Ella's car, unlocking it.
Killian arrived behind him. "Where are you off to there, mate?"
Henry jumped, turning to face him. "Uh, nowhere."
"You're quite in the rush to go nowhere," Killian told him.
Henry sighed. "Fine, I'm following Mom and Rose to see what they've been lying to me about."
Killian chuckled. "So you've gone stalker."
Henry shrugged. "Whatever."
"So you're planning on driving to follow them?" Killian asked. "One lesson and you think you're ready for that? I'm afraid I can't let you do that. It's too dangerous."
Henry opened the car door. "I don't care what you think."
Killian closed the door. "Well, you should. And you're in my care for the day."
ღღ
Hatter House - Freya and Jefferson's Room
The group was going through Freya's closet to find the book.
David found shoe boxes. "Why do women keep their shoe boxes?"
Snow leaned slightly over to peer around the corner at David. "Because after true love, there is no more powerful magic than footwear. It has to be protected."
"Any sign of the book?" Emma asked.
Mathias closed a chest. "No. I don't think it's here."
"You don't know that," Lisa told him. She went through another box. "Maybe it's in this thing. Some winter coats. Some scarves. The book is not in here."
Saphira went through another box. "Let's check in here. Hang on." She was shocked when she found the book. "Found it."
"Can I see that?" Tori asked. Saphira gave the book to Tori. "I know there are chapters on Oz in here. I wanna know who's heart Zelena and Faye crushed to enact this Curse."
"So do I," Alcina agreed. "Because if there's something they loved, that's their weakness."
"Come on," Mathias told them. "Let's go get Henry."
"Hook's watching him right now," Snow explained. "Won't be for long."
"Let's go," David told them. "We don't have much time."

Flashback
Enchanted Forest
Night - Dark Forest
The group walked through the woods.
David stopped to pick up a snowbell, giving it to Snow. "For luck."
Snow smiled, sniffing the flower, noticing the look she was getting from the others. "What?"
"We're at the edge of the Dark Forest, trying to find the one person who can stop our imminent doom and save your unborn child," Emma told them. "And you two stop to smell the roses?"
"Snow bells," Snow corrected.
Regina gave them an annoyed look. "I don't care if they are dancing daffodils." Lisa tilted her head with an amused, innocent look. "We need to destroy Faye and Zelena. And so do you."
They walked on.
Mathias sighed. "And if that babbling mad man sent us on a wild good chase? I swear I'll--"
They saw a doorway.
"What's that supposed to be?" Emma asked.
"Well, it appears to be a door," David answered in honest sarcasm. "That leads to nowhere."
David carefully approached the door, able to see that the path continued beyond it.
Alcina recalled what her father had said. "Through the door step inside. If pure of heart, then she won't hide."
"It's Grandpa's riddle," Grace told them. "It's Glinda."
Grace stepped through the portal.
Lisa, Freya and Jefferson followed worriedly. "Grace. Wait."
The others followed.
Regina scoffed. "A portal with a cheap cloaking spell."
Regina stepped through the door as well, but she was not allowed to use the portal, briskly walking back and forth, but stopped when she knew it wasn't going to work, closing the door behind her.
ღ
Glinda's Pocket Dimension
Snow was falling around the group.
"I thought she was supposed to be the Good Witch of the South," Saphira told them.
Glinda magically appeared. "I was, before I was banished here."
"Where's Regina?" Emma asked.
"I'm afraid your traveling companion has a heart heavy with vengeance," Glinda told them. "Only a good witch may pass through my door."
"Um, David, Mary Margaret, Jefferson and Tori aren't witches," Emma told her.
"We're--" Snow started.
"I know who you are," Glinda told them. "I've heard many tales of all of you. I sense powerful magic among you."
"That's why we're here," Lisa told her.
"We were told your light magic could help defeat the Wicked Witch and Fatale," David told her. "We've come to ask for your help."
Glinda shook her head. "I'm sorry, my magic is not powerful enough to defeat Zelena and Faye. It never has been."
"You know them?" Grace asked.
Glinda nodded. "We were friends long ago, when things were different. But they made their choice. They gave into their dark magic. I tried to stop them. I failed."
"There must be some way to defeat them," Jefferson told her.
"There is," Glinda answered. "They were both born with great power. Long ago, I gave them pendants to help focus it. Their magic has resided inside of them ever since."
"So, if we can remove them, they'll lose their power and we can defeat them?" Saphira asked.
Glinda nodded. "But only a purveyor of the strongest light magic will be able to accomplish such defeat."
"Light magic," Mathias repeated.
They all looked at Lisa, who raised her eyebrows.
"Well, Lisa's the Light Bringer," Tori told them.
"She has the strongest light magic to ever be used," Alcina agreed.
"If she is as pure and powerful as you say, then yes, she and only she can defeat Zelena and Faye," Glinda answered.
Lisa walked away, striking a match.
"What are you doing?" Jefferson asked. "Lisa?"
"Seeing if what she says is true," Lisa answered. "But..."
Lisa stopped when she saw a vision in the flames.
"What?" Emma asked.
"Ella and Rose and Henry," Lisa answered. "They're in danger in the other land."
"Zelena and Faye's men?" Snow asked worriedly.
Lisa nodded, just as worried.
"You can stop them," Glinda told them.
"But Ella, Henry and Rose aren't in this land," Grace explained. "And we can't get back to them to save them."
"Actually, there is a way," Freya told them. "But there's a steep price."
Saphira looked at her in realization. "No, Freya. You can't mean..."
"Yes," Alcina answered. "If we wanna save Ella, Henry and Rose, we must enact the Dark Curse."
ღღ
Woods
The others met up with Regina.
"Are you out of your minds?" Regina asked. "I know Lisa's visions are never wrong, but to cast the Dark Curse, I'd have to destroy the heart of the thing I love most, which, for me, are both Henry and Rose."
"There has to be another way to enact it," Mathias told them.
"If there were, do you think Gina would have killed her own father, Mathias, who I believed was my real father all my life?" Alcina asked.
"What about a magic bean?" Tori asked. "If we had one, we could open a portal. Or Jefferson's hat?"
"There are no more portals, not or us," Regina told them. "Not for anyone the Curse brought back. When Lisa and I undid the first Curse to escape Pan to bring us here, it divided our realms, placed a wall between them."
"The Dark Curse is the only way to save Ella, Henry and Rose, Emma," David told her.
"Haven't you been listening?" Emma asked. "Regina can't cast it."
"But someone else can," Tori told them.
"Who?" Snow asked.
David knelt next to Snow. "You. It's the only way. You can use my heart to cast the Curse. We have to think of our children and grandchildren."
Snow shook her head worriedly. "Our children and grandchildren need you. I need you. We'll find another way. We always find another way."

Storybrooke
Day - Granny's Diner
The group walked in.
"They're gone," Ella told them.
"What do you mean?" Freya asked. "Gone?"
"We mean Henry's not in the room," Rose answered. "He's not in the parlor. And Mom's keys are gone. Her car keys."
"Hook probably took him to the docks," Ella told them. "That's what he normally does."
ღ
Docks
Killian was introducing Henry to Smee. "Henry, this is a friend of mine, Tori, Saphira and Mathias's. Mr. Smee."
"Like from Peter Pan?" Henry asked.
"You remember?" Smee asked.
Henry nodded. "I've seen the movie a million times."
Killian chuckled. "It's quite a common name in the seafaring world. As luck would have it, we're sailing out on the lake today and would be happy for the company."
"We are?" Smee asked. Killian gave him a look. "I mean, we are."
"Really?" Henry asked doubtfully. "Where is your ship?"
Smee turned around, noticing a small boat moored behind him. "There she is."
"You're stealing it, right?" Henry asked.
The distant sound of flapping wings gradually got louder.
"Captain?" Smee asked uneasily.
Killian realized flying monkeys were coming, worried. "Mr. Smee, we need to get the lad to the boat house."
"Why?" Henry asked. "What's going on?" Up in the cloudy sky, a flying monkey circled above them, and descending, the monkey attacked them. "Killian, what is that?"
"Now!" Killian told him.
Running, the three entered the boat house.
Smee locked the door behind him. "What now, Captain?"
Killian pointed in a direction. "Take the boy there, far exit. Find a new boat. I'll stay here to deal with our winged friends. Henry, go with Smee, don't stop, no matter what you here." Smee exited. Henry briefly stopped once, watching the flying monkey descending. "Henry, go!" Killian fired his pistol twice, killing two flying monkeys. Henry, while running, tripped over a coiled rope. A third monkey attacked Henry. "No!"
Aiming, Killian fired again, but the pistol magazine was empty. The rest of the group arrived. Freya, Regina, Lisa, Rose, Grace, Saphira, Mathias and Alcina used magic to counterattack the flying monkeys. Emma and Ella were still struggling to learn how to control their powers, doing the best they could. Jefferson and David used their swords/guns to fight them off.
Tori used her Siren Song to control some of them away. "I never liked pets."
Regina, Ella and Rose ran to Henry's side.
"Henry?" Regina asked.
They helped him up.
"Are you okay?" Ella asked.
"Yeah," Henry answered. "What were those things? Why do they have swords? How could they do those things? Is that Aunt Emma?"
"It's all gonna make sense in a minute," Ella told him. "I promise."
"What are you talking about?" Henry asked. "How is Aunt Emma here? Aunt Emma died."
"I'm sorry I was keeping things from you," Ella told him. "You were right. You deserve to know the truth."
Lisa showed Henry the storybook
"About fairy tales?" Henry asked. "I don't understand."
"Do you trust me?" Lisa asked.
"Yes, of course I do," Henry answered.
"Then I need you to believe," Lisa told him.
"Believe in what?" Henry asked.
"Believe in magic," Lisa answered.
"From a book?" Henry asked doubtfully.
"It's more than just a book," Lisa told him. "Do you believe in me?"
"Yes," Henry answered.
"Then take it," Lisa told him, handing it to him.
Henry took the book, and once he believed, he remembered everything, looking at her in shock. "Lisa." Lisa smiled. Henry looked around, smiling excitedly to see all of his family and friends. "Mom and Aunt Ally, Aunt Emma, Aunt Freya and Uncle Jefferson, Grace, Grandma and Grandpa. Saphira, Tori and Mathias."
Everyone looked at each other in relief as Henry went around and gave hugs to all of his friends and family.
"Do it, Mom," Rose told her. "Break the Curse."
When Ella leaned forward to kiss Rose on the head, she disappeared in a whirl of green smoke. Zelena and Faye had appeared.
Zelena was trapping Rose in her arms. "So sorry to interrupt. Now, who wants to say goodbye first? All you have to do to save Rose's life is give Lisa a kiss, Henry."
"What?" Jefferson asked.
"Who are you?" Henry asked.
"You can call my mother here Auntie Zelena," Faye told him. "I'm your cousin by adoption, Faye. You would have known that if Mama hadn't erased your memories."
Saphira rolled her eyes. "Enough of this."
Faye used the power of Gold to freeze everyone in place, knocking them down.
"Let her go," Grace told them. "She had nothing to do with this."
"Don't blame me," Zelena told them. "Henry failed me."
"Damn you, Zelena," Killian told her. "Let the girl go."
"What are you talking about?" Regina asked. "How did Henry fail you?"
Lisa easily broke free from the magical freeze, focusing her light magic to burn Zelena and Faye, making Zelena let go of Rose.
"Run!" Tori told her.
Rose ran toward them to hug Regina, Henry and Ella.
Faye smirked. "Enjoy this moment together because you don't have many left."
Zelena and Faye disappeared.
"Rose, are you okay?" Emma asked.
"Yeah," Rose answered. "Yeah."
Grace, Jefferson and Lisa noticed that Freya had been knocked out when Faye had used Gold's power, kneeling next to her worriedly.
"Mama?" Grace asked. "Mama! Mama!"
Jefferson gently shook her to try to wake her. "Freya! Cilla. Priscilla!"

Flashback - The Night They Cast the Curse
Enchanted Forest
Night - Dark Palace
Freya was setting up the Dark Curse.
Saphira sighed. "It's ready."
Snow shook her head. "No, there has to be another way to get to Ella, Rose and Henry."
"There isn't," Alcina answered.
Regina sighed. "You know if there were, I would have gone back to Henry and Rose by now."
"This is it," Mathias told them. "This sacrifice."
"Snow, we have to do this," David told her. "You have to do this."
Snow was close to crying. "I can't, I can't crush your heart, I can't lose you."
"You'll never lose me, but this is our only chance," David told her. "Think of saving Ella, Henry and Rose, think of Emma and our baby, think of being a mother."
"Our child will never know it's father," Snow told him.
"Of course it will, through you and Emma," David told her. Emma was close to crying as David took them both by the hand. "We've always shared one heart, and it'll only grow stronger when you look at that baby's face and see the love I have for you in its eyes."
Snow fully started to cry. "I've loved you since the first moment I saw you."
David had tears in his eyes. "And I love you until my last."
They kissed sweetly, heartbreakingly.
"Okay," Saphira told them sadly. "Who's going to do it?"
"I will," Mathias answered. "So no one else has to."
Tori looked at David worriedly. "I won't lie. This is going to hurt. But it will work."
Mathias pushed his hand into David's chest to take out his heart.
"Charming?" Snow asked.
Emma called him by this instinctively as she was so close to crying. "Dad?"
"Don't say goodbye," David told them.
Snow sobbed. "I love you, I love you more than anything."
David nodded sadly. "Which is why you have to crush it."
Mathias handed Snow David's heart. Crushing the heart, Snow added the last ingredient to the Dark Curse. David fell dead to the ground. Snow started to completely break down.
Emma was crying, holding Snow in her arms. "This won't be in vain. We will get back to Storybrooke. We will save Ella, Henry and Rose. We will defeat--"
Dragon!Faye flew into the castle with Zelena, returning to human form with a swirl of blue/green smoke, adding a green potion.
Regina glared at them. "Zelena. Faye."
"Did you really think you could enact Rumple's Dark Curse and we wouldn't know about it?" Faye asked.
"No," Alcina answered. "But we didn't really care. You're too late."
"Actually, we're not," Zelena told them, looking at Snow. "I'm afraid you sacrificed your charming husband for nothing."
Saphira shook her head. "No. He won't die in vain."
"She's bluffing," Freya told them. "Once the Curse is enacted, it can't be stopped."
"We may not be able to stop it, but that doesn't mean we can't spice it up a bit," Faye told them. "How does a forgetting potion sound?" They all looked over to the cauldron as the Curse cloud began expanding, all of them shocked, and/or annoyed. "Mm, sorry. Did you need your memories in the new land? Were you planning to stop us? Or for that matter, recognize us? Save Henry, Rose and Ella?"
"We'll find a way," Mathias told them.
Zelena waved a hand toward Tori to make her disappear in a whirl of green smoke. "Without knowing any of this? I doubt it. You'll be too busy looking for Tori. You won't know what happened to her. Just endlessly wondering where she could be, always fearing the worst." Mathias and Saphira glared at Zelena. "Pay attention, sisters, this is how you take away a happy ending."
With a swirl of blue/green smoke, Faye turned to Dragon form to fly away with Zelena. Everyone looked to David's body, devastated.

Alcina, Lisa, Grace and Jefferson were still trying to awake Freya.
"Mama!" Grace told her desperately. "Mama, please. Wake up."
"Freya," Jefferson told her. "Cilla? Priscilla!"
"Cilla!" Alcina told her.
Freya woke up, breathing heavily. "Grace? Jefferson? Lisa? Ally?"
Everyone sighed in relief.
Jefferson leaned his head against hers. "Freya."
They helped Freya stand, as the four Hatters embraced in relief.
Alcina embraced Freya as well in relief. "Cilla. Oh, Freya."
Freya smiled at her family. "I love you."
With everyone believing, and the four Hatters embracing, kissing each other on the cheeks, waves of true love were released in a rainbow wave of magic, breaking the Dark Curse, giving everyone their memories back from the missing year. Everyone looked around each other in shock. Snow and David embraced.
Ella looked at the Hatters in shock. "It wasn't up to us. It was up to you."
"Guys?" Rose asked. "Did it work? Do you remember the missing year?"
"Yes," Tori answered. "Everything."
"How did Zelena and Faye cast the Curse?" Ella asked.
Saphira shook her head. "They didn't, Ella. We did."
"You cursed yourselves?" Ella asked.
"Zelena and Faye's weakness is light magic," Mathias explained. "I mean, it's clear now. More than ever."
"Lisa's the only one who can defeat them," Tori told them.
"And Lisa saw a vision of Walsh going after Ella, Rose and Henry," Regina added. "That's why we paid the price for the Curse. To find you and save you."
Ella looked at them in confusion. "The price of the Curse is the heart of the thing you love most. If one of you cast it, how are you all still here?"

Snow and Emma were mourning David as the Curse cloud continued to expand above them.
Snow got an idea. "Freya, I need you to rip out my heart. Charming's right. We have been of one heart since the day he woke me from the sleeping curse. If you split my heart in half, we can both survive."
"Snow, I know your love is strong," Freya told her. "But this isn't like plucking a flower. How do you know it will work?"
"I believe it will," Emma told them. "Faith. Belief. I believe her heart is strong enough for both of them."
"But if you're wrong, Emma, Snow will die," Jefferson told her in concern.
"Please," Snow told them. "Please, Freya. Do it."
Freya hesitated worriedly.
Lisa knew why. "Freya's never taken a human heart before. Because of what Rumple did to her mother right in front of her when she was so young."
"I think with Lisa's magic, it could work," Grace told them. "Lisa, please try."
Lisa nodded, and since her intentions were pure and good, she could reach into Snow's chest and take out her heart, and carefully broke it into halves, placing the two halves into Snow and David as they all anxiously waited for David's revival. David gasped alive. Everyone smiled in relief, including Regina.
"Snow?" David asked. "Emma, what's happening?"
Snow smiled tearfully. "You're okay. We're both okay."
Snow and David kissed, and after, David and Emma embraced, as the others smiled. They all looked up as the Dark Curse slowly spilled from the cauldron, beginning to surround them. The rest of the cloud soon collapsed on top of them.

Day - Boathouse
Henry was going on nonstop about New York to catch up with his family now that he remembered. "New York was awesome; the pizza, the Yankees, our school."
Regina chuckled. "Slow down. I wanna hear it all. The entire year."
"I found an apple tree in Central Park that looked exactly like the one by your office," Rose explained. "Of course, we didn't know it back then. But now we do. And guess what?"
"What?" Saphira asked.
"We got pretty good at math," Rose answered.
Alcina gasped teasingly. "No."
"Pretty good," Rose repeated. "Not Stephen Hawking good. But good. What did we miss in the Enchanted Forest?"
Tori smirked, shaking her head. "Nothing much. Nothing that matters now."
Robin and Derek walked in.
"Hey," Jefferson told them. "Henry. Meet Robin and Derek Hood. Robin. Derek. Henry."
"Wait, Robin and Derek Hood?" Henry repeated.
Robin shook Henry's hand. "At your service."
Henry also shook Derek's hand. "Awesome."
Alcina walked with Robin. "So the Curse is broken."
Robin nodded in amusement, agreement. "Indeed. And the missing year? We did know each other than as well. And things were as..."
"Flirty back then as they are now?" Alcina finished. "Yeah. I noticed that too."
Robin chuckled. "I'm not pushing, Alcina. Not after what you went through with Zelena, Faye and Baelfire."
Alcina turned to face him. "Yeah. But if one thing has taught me anything? No matter how old you are, you can still die. And life is still too short to waste."
Robin was confused, amused. "What are you saying?"
Alcina looked at him for a moment before giving in and kissing him passionately. Robin returned the kiss in kind. The Hatters and Regina noticed from nearby, and while the Hatters cheered happily for Alcina getting some happiness, Regina remained quiet, though she smiled, also happy for Ally. Alcina and Robin pulled away, smiling.
Saphira smiled. "Derek."
Derek looked at Saphira. "I find it odd that we both found each other in the Enchanted Forest and here."
Saphira shrugged. "Odd? Maybe. Coincidence? I don't believe in coincidences. So I'm gonna have to say no on that. Fate? Maybe."
Derek smiled, nodding in agreement. "Maybe. Saphira..."
They smiled, kissing slowly and passionately. Tori and Mathias chuckled, exchanging a look, embracing with a kiss.
Henry remembered something. "Oh, no." He ran up to Lisa. "Lisa!"
"What?" Lisa asked. "What is it? Henry?"
"When you, Aunt Freya, Uncle Jefferson and Grace broke the Curse, I remembered what Zelena did to me," Henry answered. "She cursed me. My lips, actually.'
"Your lips?" Lisa repeated. "Why?"
"She wants to steal your magic," Henry answered. "She thought I was the best way of doing that. She knows what we all know. That you can defeat her and Faye."
Everyone was in shock, worried.
Grace frowned. "So much for Henry and Lisa sharing a kiss after he got his memories back."
"Grace..." Lisa trailed off.
Grace sighed. "I'm just trying to lighten the mood."
"Hook, you said you brought Ella, Henry and Rose to Storybrooke because you received a message from us with two memory potions," Mathias told him.
Killian nodded. "Aye. What of it, Mathias?"
"We didn't send you any message," Mathias answered.
"Well, I got one," Killian told them. "Somebody bloody well sent me the message. Who else would have an antidote? Who else would have known where to find them?"
Tori remembered. "I did."
They looked at her in surprise.

Tori and Rumplestiltskin were trapped in two cells. Zelena and Faye were preparing memory potions.
Rumplestiltskin giggled. "Wolf's blood, Dragon's scale. I've tasted this brew before."
"We're about to take an unplanned trip, my pet, thanks to Tori and company," Faye told him. "The Curse is coming."
Rumplestiltskin chanted. "You failed, you failed, you failed, you failed, you failed, you failed, you failed, you failed."
"Don't be so dour," Faye told him. "What we need to do can be done from any land. We will succeed in changing the past. Our spell will work."
"But only if you remember it," Tori replied.
"Which we will," Zelena told them, showing them the potions. "With this. To keep our valuable recollection safe and sound."
Zelena drank her potion, leaving.
Faye gave two potions to Tori and Rumple. "Here. Drink. Dump it out. Sing it a song. If you want to remember, so be it, but if you prefer to stumble about blind and stupid with the rest of them, be my guest."
Faye drank her potion, leaving.
Rumplestiltskin paced. "Memories are pain, pain is strength. For vengeance."
Tori took his potion from him. "We don't need to remember. Ella and Rose do. They're in danger and they need to be awake to fight whatever is with them." She tore piece of cloth from her sleeve, hurriedly writing a note on it, singing, calling a pigeon to her, tying the note and bottles to its legs. "Find Killian Jones on the Jolly Roger. Find Captain Hook. Go!"
Tori let the bird fly away.

The Hatters, Matthews, Charmings and Alcina had come here to mourn Neal.
"He really was a hero, Henry," Freya told him. "He was. He didn't give a second thought for sacrificing himself for you. For all of us."
Henry placed a rose on the grave, looking at Ella and Rose. "Yeah. Was it hard, coming back to Storybrooke when you knew it'd be dangerous? I mean, life in New York was pretty good."
"It was better than good," Ella told him. "But I had this voice stuck in my head that I couldn't shake."
"Whose?" Henry asked.
"Yours," Ella answered. "I knew how you would have voted on this. Me and Rose both did."
Henry nodded.
"Yeah," Rose agreed. "And you know what this means? Operation Cobra is back on."
Lisa chuckled. "I'm not sure it ever ended."
Snow groaned in pain.
"Hey," Emma told her.
Freya ran toward her. "Mary Margaret."
"Hey, hey," Jefferson told her. "Deep breaths. Take deep breaths."
"Snow, you're okay?" Grace asked.
Snow shook her head. "It's the baby. It's coming."
Everyone looked at each other worriedly, knowing that it meant Zelena and Faye would come for the baby soon.
