Ch 2
On a lonely stretch of highway, a young man drove an old beat up blue hatchback, as he talked to his girlfriend on the phone. As he drove he gave her some bullshit reason on why he was running late, that was until his eye caught something or rather someone standing on the side of the road.
"Amy, I have to go. Yeah Sure. " The young male replied as he hung up the phone while pulling over to the side of the road. "Hey, do you need a ride or something? "He asked the raven haired female in white.
Little did the young man know at the time this would be that worst mistake of his short life, the very last mistake to be exact, come morning his car would be found abandoned with no trace of him at all. When the group of six in the impala arrived at the bridge no one had said a single word, the young blond-haired person behind the wheel had leaned forward watching diligently as she took everything in. It wasn't until Liv placed a gentle hand on her shoulder that Dee had come back from her little space out, a reassuring smile making its way across her lips.
"I'm fine Liv. Come on boys." Dee offered her voice calm as she slipped from the car.
Dean and Sam wondered what all that had been about as they followed close to their sister, as the three siblings approached the scene on the bridge, Dee glanced back at her brothers with a mischievous little smirk. Though before they could react the smile was gone and so was she. Dahlia pulled her long blonde hair up into a high ponytail and zipped up her jacket. She quickly slipped a pair of dark sunglasses from her pocket and placed them on her head, along with a notepad and pen. As Sam watched his older sister he leaned over towards Dean.
"What the hell are you letting her do?" Sam asked Dean as a protective tone could be heard slipping into his voice.
"Dude, when have you ever known me to be able to stop her?" Dean quipped as he stayed a little further back though he was close enough to step in if their sister needed him. "Furthermore, when have you ever been able to stop her? Want to try? Be my guest little brother." He chuckled as he stepped aside to let Sam go ahead of him.
As Sam thought about Dean's words he quickly shook his head, he knew they had never been able to stop her much. That had been their dad, Dee was too much like their mother and it was freighting at times. However, the small walk towards the group of officers on the bridge had given Dee time to produce names for her brothers and herself, though she was sure they would try to kill her later. The young woman could hear them whispering behind her and tried not to giggle as the words reached her ears.
"Now Behave you two or else Baby will be mine for the next two months." Dee whispered just loud enough for the pair to hear as she felt her phone vibrate in her pocket. She knew who it was, as badly as she wanted to answer it she knew she couldn't. As the middle Winchester sibling slipped back into her role of a false US Marshals, she let her face harden and grew quiet.
Ten more steps and they would be within speaking distance with the officers, while she straightened up Dahlia plastered a sympathetic smile on her face. As she glanced back at brothers she gave them a 'behave' look before turning back around. Three more steps and Dahlia was in front of the officers, as she cleared her throat the group of officers looked up at her.
"Hi, We're US Mars..." Dahlia had started to speak when one of the officers spoke up.
"Sweetheart this is no place for little girls why don't you go play with your barbies. We're working!" The lead officer quipped as he interrupted Dahlia.
Sam and Dean rushed forward, grabbing Dahlia before she could throw a punch at the cop when Dean stepped in. Dean cleared his throat as he glared at the group of men who had insulted his twin, he tried to keep the anger from entering his voice when he spoke up with a slight chuckle escaping from his lips.
"As my partner was saying before you so rudely insulted her, WE ARE the US MARSHALS." Dean retorted as he made it clear that he was standing up for Dahlia.
When he glanced back at Sam he tried not to laugh at the sight before him, Sam had an arm around Dahlia's shoulder; they're backs were faced away from the officers. The youngest of the Winchesters had moved their sister several feet away so that she wouldn't try to attack them again. However, Dean could tell that Sam was having a slight argument about trying to get her to give him whatever was in her hands. Dean turned back to the officers on the bridge half tempted to let his sister have a go at the group of men. From the car the Matthews siblings watched in amusement as Sam tried to convince his older sister to hand over her knife. Clearly something had happened to piss the older female off.
"Dee we don't need any more bloodshed, not innocent that is." Sam reasoned with the older blond as he held out his hand while giving her a pleading look.
"Fine but lose the hurt puppy look." She retorted when she handed the blade over to her baby brother handle first. "But if I hear one more remark from them like that I'll break someone's nose like I did the boy who smacked my ass in high school." Dee huffed as she turned around and marched back over to Dean.
"As I was saying.." Dean spoke up before he was interrupted.
"You had one of these a few months back right?" Dee interrupted the tone of her voice held authority as she leaned forward, her eyes narrowed as she a look of dissatisfaction in the male's actions towards her. "Well cat have your tongue or you afraid to talk to a little girl?" She quipped as she waited for the sheriff to answer her.
Sam groaned as he listened to his older sister all but insult the officers of Jericho California, if he thought it would help he would have dragged her back to the car. However, he knew she would just kick his ass later if he had tried.
"So, this victim, you knew him?" Sam asked, playing along with the whole US Marshals role.
"A town like this everyone knows everyone." An officer offered up as he watched Dahlia look over the edge of the bridge.
"Any connection between the victims besides that they're all men?'' Dahlia asked as she refused to turn and look at the officers. Her brothers didn't know she was texting someone on her phone, the very person who had been calling her minutes ago. Nor did they know that very person was able to get Dee, Olivia, Scarlett and Bryn's information into almost every government database as some type of official.
"No that so far as we can tell," The officer stated. "What's wrong with your partner?" He questioned as he pointed to Dahlia.
"Any theories?" Sam asked as he moved around the car towards Dee who had slipped her phone back into her pocket. "Nothing, she's fine aren't you?" He asked in a hushed whisper.
"Eh yeah, I just don't like being insulted, you know." Dee retorted as she looked at the officer who was half in half out of the car.
"I'm sorry, we..." He started to say but stopped when he realized it wasn't his place to say sorry. "Any way theories, honestly we don't know serial murders, kidnapping ring." The officer quoted
"Well, that is exactly the kind of crack police work I would except out of you guys!" Dean quipped as he thought it was a good idea to get back at them for the remark about his sister.
However, he hadn't counted on Sam stomping on his foot or Dee reaching up and smacking both of them in the back of the head like they were a pair of children. Then again to any outsider it probably looked like she was a motherly figure scolding the two of them two of them.
"I'm so sorry for them, I swear they forget their manners at times" Dee replied as she gave them a hard glare that basically said. 'get your asses moving.'
That officer let a laugh slip from his lips as he watched the three wondering just how three completely different people were paired up as partners. It hadn't dawned on him yet that they looked alike or that they were not US Marshals at all. As the three of them got back to the impala, they could hear Liv and her sibling laughing at what had just transpired.
"What's so funny Baby?" Dean asked as he slid in next to Liv.
"Oh, nothing how about the fact that your sister is ready to murder both of you?" Liv giggled as Dean pulled her onto his lap.
Bryn was trying just as hard not to laugh at the death glare that Dahlia was sending the Winchester brothers as she slid behind the wheel. To make things more interesting he had climbed into the back seat with Liv and Dean, leaving Scar to sit between Sam and Dahlia. The younger Matthews felt that the three of them needed a little time together even if it was in silence. Though the look Scar had given Bryn had him thinking twice on his decision.
"I...I can switch." Bryn stammered out as he locked eyes with his second older sister.
"No, we are settled now and headed into town." Scar grumbled out as she turned back around. She tried to sit as close to her best friend without hindering her driving; however it was nearly impossible.
"Scar, you know you don't have to sit that close to Dee." Sam stated in a teasing tone." I don't bite." He added as he glanced at her.
As the words left his lips Dee slammed on the breaks, the actions caused everyone to lurch forward. She hadn't meant to act that way, but she wasn't going to let her little brother play games with Scar or the rest of them. He only came for this one job and had to be back by Monday after all.
"Out! Now Samuel!." Dee gritted as she stepped from the car, her demeanor was completely different than it was on the bridge. "Liv go find a hotel, then bring the car back Okay?" She added as Dean joined her.
As she spoke her eyes drifted to one of her best friends in the car, she could see the hurt in Scar's eyes, Dee gave the young woman a gentle nod before they walked off. Sam had exited the car, completely dumbfounded by what had just happened. As Liv climbed behind the wheel he saw Dean standing next to their sister shaking his head.
'Was he really letting Olivia Matthews drive his car? His baby?' Sam thought to himself. He thought that Dean was shaking his head no to their sister, how wrong he was.
As Dahlia walked along the streets looking for a girl who was putting up flyers, information she had listened to while they were walking up on the officers at the bridge, along with what the mysterious person she was texting had given her. Dean and Sam hung back a little so that Dean could talk to Sam before they were burying him instead of returning him to Yale.
"What did I tell you?" Dean whispered as they watched Dee walk up to the a young girl hanging a flyer on the wall.
"What I was just saying Scar didn't.." Sam had started to say but Dean cut him off.
"No, you just don't get it do you Sammy, our sister is a lot more forgiving than Scarlett. You are our brother, and she loves you with her life." Dean stated as he stopped Sam for a moment. "But damn it Sam; Who do you think helped put Scarlett back together after you left huh? So yeah tread lightly Dahlia won't let you play with her feelings little brother. There is more at stake here then Scar's heart. Just stick with Jessica." He added as he spoke he glanced up when he realized they has lost sight of said sister. "Damn it Dee?" Dean called out.
"What?" A soft spoken voice called out as a head of blond hair shot around the corner, this time a sweet smile was plastered to her lips. "I found Amy, come meet her?" Dee said as she mouthed the words 'NOW!'
Sam stood there as he took in everything that Dean had just said, he tried to wrap his head around the meaning of it while he found himself being pulled along by Dean towards their sister. Within seconds they stood in front of two young women, one of them was the young man who had gone missing girlfriend, the other was her best friend. As Sam listened to Dean and Dee speak his mind drifted back to how Scar was acting around him, how his sister was overprotective of the Matthews sister that had once been his crush. Sam had decided Dean was right he needed to think about Jess and not interfere with Scar, but he wanted that friendship he had with her back, no he needed it back. Something deep down told him that Scar was more to him than he knew, however he continued to ignore it.
"Hello Earth to space cadet Sammy?" Dee joked as she waved her hand in front of her brother's face with a nearly innocent smile gracing her lips.
"Hmm what?" Sam asked oblivious of what had been going on.
"I said this is Amy and her Friend I'm sorry I didn't catch your name." She asked as she introduced the young women. "We're Troy's Uncles and Aunt from Modesto. I'm Dahlia, these two yahoos are Dean and Sammy.'' Dee stated as she pointed to Dean first then Sam, to keep from going into the whole conversion about how he never mentioned them before. "Can we talk somewhere?" She added.
The four of them sat in a diner, Dahlia was sitting in between her brothers as they listened to the young women tell them a story. It was supposed to be about a legend about a young girl that was murdered on the highway. As Dee reached for a cup of coffee it was snagged by Dean who shook his head, with a roll of her eyes sighed.
"You are no fun!" Dee whined playfully as she shoved her brother lightly.
After having paid for their drinks, they made sure Amy and her friend were okay, well Dahlia did. Dean was on the phone with Liv. The car was right where she had texted she would leave it. Sam and Dee were laughing slightly at how Dean was reacting because Scar had gotten a room for Bryn, Scar, Dee, and herself to share.
"But I want to sleep with you tonight and not in baby." Dean practically whined into the phone.
Sam tried to hide the amused look in his eyes as they all got into the car, Dean in the back Sam and Dahlia up front.
"So, This?" Sam asked as he pointed at Dean.
"Eh, you get used to it, trust me." Dee giggled as she started the car knowing just where they were going. "Is nothing. Bryn still sleepwalks you should see when we all take turns tying him to ourselves or each other. Hey, I may have recorded Dean begging Liv to..." She was offering when a hand clamped over her mouth,
"Don't you dare little sister you swore you erased that!" Dean quipped in horror.
A mischievous look made it into Dee's eyes as she licked Dean's hand, which had him quickly removing his hand from her mouth and wiping it on Sam's jacket. It was a good thing that the young female had been taught to drive in dire situations or Dean could have caused an accident.
"Library, searching for Death, murder and mayhem." Dee quipped as she slipped from the car only to lean her head in the open window. "Oh, Deanie I said I erased one not all remember Karma's a bitch." She giggled as she walked off into the library.
"First of all, Eww!, Second of all Dad was right I should have been a lot nicer to her. She can kick both our asses and god knows what else. " Dean groaned as he climbed from the car.
"And still be just fine afterwards, Yeah I remember the talk Dad had with both of us when we tried to protect her." Sam added as he followed after his siblings. "She was mad at both of us for two months. " He quickly offered as they made their way into the library.
As the two brothers scanned the library looking for the familiar head of blond hair, their eyes fell upon said person sitting at the computer with a book in her lap. As she typed things in on the computer. Her head only drifted up to look at them when they made their way over to her. Dee was done with research, not that she wasn't good at it. By far she was equally good at each of the things her brothers could do, however a book had caught her eye as she had made her way over to the computers and on impulse she had simply begged the librarian to sell it to her.
However, she quickly cleared the search history on the computer before her brothers could see what she had been looking at and moved out of the way for them to do the research, the heavy leather bound book tucked tightly to her chest. As Dean typed in searches for female murdered hitchhikers, then another search about Females murders on Centennial highway, Sam began to grow impatient before he shoved their brother out of the way.
"And you two say I'm impatient." Dee whispered as she watched them.
Both Dean and Sam gave her a 'are you really serious right now' look before turning back to the computer. As they ignored her comment Dean called Sam a control freak before pulling Dee back over to the computer with him.
"So Angry spirits can be born out of a violent death right?" Sam asked as he ignored Dean's snide comment.
"Yeah, Yes so?" Came from Dean and Dee at the same time as they stared at Sam, one completely bored the other clearly wanting to be out of the library already.
Sam tried to take the way the two of them acted seriously, his brother staring at the computer screen, while Dee was staring at them like she had already found what they needed. Like she wanted to make them useful, as Sam's eyes drifted back to the computer screen from his older siblings he noticed the book in her arms and made a mental note to ask her about it later.
"Maybe it's not murder." Sam continued as he started to type into the computer once again, this time instead of murder he typed suicide. While they waited for the search results to pop up he glanced up at Dee. "Dee about..." He had started to apologize but was cut off by Dahlia herself.
"Look." Dee said as she pointed to the screen.
On the screen was an article from April of 1981 about the death of a young woman named Constance Welch who had taken her own life; she had leapt from the Sylvania Bridge, where she subsequently drowned. The article went on to say that Mrs. Welch had found her young children ages 5 and 6 unresponsive after leaving them in the bathtub unattended. As Sam continued to read the article Dahlia had heard enough and walked away headed for the entrance, her mind drifted to other things. She didn't understand how someone could do that to their children. Dean had watched Dee leave out of the corner of his eye, he couldn't blame her, he knew just what she was thinking hell he was thinking it too.
"Okay what is going on with our sister?" Sam asked when he realized she was gone.
"Sam, just leave it okay. She's probably tired from stealing Baby from me." Dean joked trying to hide the real truth.
Sam nodded after all if something were really wrong they would tell him, right? As the three of them made their way to the car. Dee slipped into the back seat handing the keys over to Dean, she gave him a slight smile and a nod.
"Still doesn't mean you're not grounded, I just .."Dee had begun to tease.
"I know, I get it, Sis." Dean interrupted as he ruffled her hair.
"HEY!" Dee hollered as she smacked at his hand.
Sam simply smiled at the pair, having missed this part of his family. Though his mind quickly drifted to the three people that were not with them. The Matthews siblings, they had always done nearly everything together, he wanted that relationship back, the one that that seemed to still be there with his own siblings. Before he knew it they had pulled up to the bridge, a cold shiver had made it up Dahlia's spine as she stepped from the car, she felt eyes on her as if she were being watched. Sam and Dean had made it to the middle of the bridge where Constance had jumped. Dee however was taking her time wondering if the person watching her was her mysterious caller.
"So, you think Dad would have been here?" Sam questioned as the brothers watched their sister carefully.
"Is this it?" She asked as she stepped between her brothers. When she looked down she held onto both of them. Her vertigo started to kick in and the world began to spin. "Bleh, Remind me why I do that?" Dee whimpered.
"Vertigo still?" Sam asked as he held her by one arm.
"Yes Sammy, our sister still has vertigo." Dean quipped snarkily as he looked at their sister. "You okay Shortie?" He teased her trying to change the subject.
"Yep just g... Who the hell are you calling short?" Dee rounded on Dean, the anger in her eyes growing.
As Sam stepped into to calm Dee down he changed the subject.
"Okay now what?" Sam retorted as Dean turned to walk away, Sam turning to follow him Dahlia stood right where she was. The young blond-haired person knew where this was heading, and her head was already spinning.
"We keep digging until we find him, No matter how long it takes." Dean retorted
A heavy sigh left the female Winchester's lips when she heard Sam start to speak, her mind drifting to other things that didn't pertain to her squabbling brothers, she was done with the two of them arguing about their mother.
"What? Dean no I told you I have to be back by Monday." Sam offered up.
"Monday, Yeah I know the interview.." Dean had started to say.
However, the argument was cut short when the impala roared to life, the set of siblings turned to look at the revving vehicle that was inching forward. Sam leaned over slightly. Confusion was etched into his features; the young Winchester knew his older siblings would never leave the keys in the car, but the rational part of his mind had to ask.
"Guys? Who's driving the car?" Sam begged.
"Uh..." Dean jingled the keys in his hands.
"No one." Dahlia quipped as the car sped towards them at full speed.
Before anyone could comprehend what had happened Sam was yelling for both of his siblings. As the youngest Winchester scanned the waters from where he stood on top the bridge his heart raced.
"Dean! Dee!" Sam called out to them his voice filled with panic.
"I'm fine Sammy, what about you and Shortie?" Dean called back.
"I'm fine.. Wait, she isn't down there with you?" Sam yelled as his eyes scanned the bridge.
"What do you mean?" Dean panicked. "Sam, she would never jump!" He yelled rushing up the hill.
Sam's eyes landed on a figure laying on the bridge just inches from the car. The young male rushed forward only to find his older sister laying on the ground passed out.
"Sammy! Dahlia!" Dean yelled as he rounded the end of the impala.
"Here Dean, she's okay, just unconscious." Sam told him as he gently scooped her up, Dean opened the back door so Sam could lay Dahlia in the back seat.
"Are you sure?" Dean asked.
"Yeah, I just don't know how she got that far." Sam stated as curiosity washed over him.
"Man, that Constance chic is a Bitch!" Dean groaned as he looked back at the car, he may have looked like he was worried about the car, but he was actually checking on their sister.
"You smell like a toilet!" Sam laughed as he leaned against the hood "Is she still out?" He questioned.
"Yeah she is, come on let's get her back to the hotel. Liv and Scar will help take care of her." Dean whispered.
Before sliding behind the wheel of the car Dean used one of their extra phones to call Liv. He could tell when she went silent, that his fiancée was not happy that Dahlia had passed out from the incident on the bridge.
"Alright, you need to pay for the rooms. My smile can only go so far." Liv teased over the phone but there was still a hint of uneasiness in her voice. "I won't ask, just let me know when you're here we'll take care of her." She told him as her eyes glanced at those in their hotel room before she hung up.
Dean stared at the phone before looking at Sam, a heavy sigh left his lips.
"Great!" he groaned
"What?" Sam quipped as he climbed into the car.
"Liv isn't happy and I'm in the dog house!" Dean grumbled under his breath.
Sam laughed as Dean, he couldn't believe the two were finally together, he wondered what their kids would look like.
"What are you laughing at knuckle head?" Dean asked as they headed towards the motel liv told them they were staying at.
"You two fight? Is Liv pregnant and you miss the signs? Did you forget an anniversary?" Sam chuckled.
Dean slammed on the brakes as he pulled into the motel parking lot, the action caused Dee to fall from the seat to the floorboard.
"Have you lost your goddamn mind Sam!" Dean practically yelled at the pregnant remark. Not that he wouldn't mind. It was just that Sam had no clue the implication his words had on everyone.
Liv and Bryn rushed from their room when they saw the impala slam on its breaks. It took all Scar had in her to keep their guest from rushing out to rip Dee's brothers from the car.
"Stop, they can't know about you yet!" Scar ordered "She's fine, Bryn and Liv will bring her in, you can check on her. Then you have to go." She told him.
The male gave the young Matthews female a hard glare, Dee was his mate. Winchester, human he didn't give a damn. The spirit nearly killed her tonight and now her brothers nearly did the same damned thing with their car.
"I won't be far." He warned as he paced the room impatiently.
"When are you ever?" Scar chuckled as she glanced out the window, her eyes never left the scene outside.
"What the hell is going on with you two?" Bryn demanded as he threw open the back door of the car.
"Dean?" Liv asked, looking at her filth covered fiancee. "Why do you smell.." Liv started to say but was stopped but Dean.
"Like a toilet?" Dean finished for her.
"Uh huh?" She chuckled slightly as she gathered Dee's items from the car.
Bryn glared at his family as he gently carried Dee in his arms bridle style. Her blonde hair was dropped over her face as her arms hung at her side.
"You better hope she doesn't have a bruise on her face from hitting the floor." Bryn remarked as their hotel door swung open on cue.
"Liv, can I get a kiss?" Dean teased as he got out of the car while racing after her.
"Eww, no go shower!" Liv hissed playfully as she pointed towards the hotel office.
"I got it babe. I'm getting that kiss later though." Dean winked at her as he tried to reach for her one last time .
"I'd say get a room, but you're sharing with me." Sam quipped with a disgusted look written all over his face.
"Are you guys having a convention or something?" The hotel clerk asked as Dean paid for the two rooms.
"What do you mean?" Sam asked as he glanced at Dean before he took the card back for his brother.
"The other guy rented a room for the whole month." He told the brothers.
Dean and Sam slipped into John's room; it had been warded for anything supernatural. As the brothers looked around the room they realized that their father had stumbled upon the same thing they had. The woman in white.
"Yeah, Liv, he stumbled on the same thing we did. No." Dean stopped and listened to what was being said on the other end while he watched Sam.
"How is She?" Sam asked Dean as he searched through their father's items. It still bothered him that their sister had gotten hurt under his watch.
Dean held up his finger as he hummed on the phone.
"No, He hasn't been here for a while. Yeah the women in white." Dean paused as he moved away from the phone. "She's fine, still out, might have a few bumps and bruises... I'm going to lose baby a while longer." He whined "I love you to babe." He added as he ended the call.
"Hey about the fight on the bridge." Sam started.
"No Chick flick moments besides I'm not the one you really need to apologize to." Dean told him.
"To Dee, I will." Sam stated.
"No, Idiot to Scar." Dean hissed "I'm going to go get cleaned up." He remarked as he slipped into the bathroom to shower.
"Really? Jerk." Sam chuckled as he dropped onto the bed.
"Bitch." Dean laughed as he slipped into the shower.
In the other room Liv sighed as she watched the male brush his thumb across Dee's bruised cheek. Her siblings sat close by. The three knew the male was different from his kind.
"Lucien, what happened on the bridge." Liv questioned as she handed a warm damp cloth to him for Dee.
The males eyes drifted towards the three Matthews siblings, he gently placed Dahlia's head on his lap as he sat on the bed.
"Her brothers were fighting when the spirit appeared." The dark haired male answered as his fingers twisted little loops into Dahlia's blonde tresses. "The spirit jumped as it did in life, the three rushed to see where it had fallen." Lucien spoke as his eyes glanced back down at his unconscious mate in his lap. "The car moved on its own accord, the spirits doing I assume. Her brothers both jumped, at that moment I fear they forgot her aversion to heights. Had I not been there.." He hissed as he tried to keep his fangs hidden
Scar now understood why he was so livid. Liv shook her head, as the phone rang she sighed and held up her hand.
She spoke with Dean, listening to what he had to say, and repeated what he had told her. However, a knock soon came at their door that had Lucien scramble out the bathroom window.
"Sam?" Scar asked as she opened the door in surprise "Where is Dean?" She questioned.
"Cops!" Sam exhaled.
"Cop? Dean? Lu? Who?" Dee groaned as she pulled the blanket over her head.
"Dee? You okay?" They all called out.
"Too loud! Who let me drink again? Why call the cops? Did I break into Lu's place again?" Dee wondered aloud.
"What?" Sam quipped as he looked at Scar, Liv, and Bryn.
"Lu's is a bar we went to. She got wasted and broke into a couple of times." Scar clarified as she tried to hide the truth.
"Yeah, she had her heart broken, the owner is a real sweetheart." Bryn chimed in, praying the lie they were telling would work.
Liv internally face palmed; they were not lying Dee really had broken into Lucien's bar while drunk. However, it wasn't because of a broken heart, one of their targets had poisoned her drink and she had tracked them back to the bar. Lucien had discovered that the female Winchester was his mate and would not allow anyone or anything harm her or those she cared for.
"Liv?" Sam asked as she moved towards his older sister while Scar and Bryn moved towards Liv.
"Sorry Sam Just thinking about Dean and what we're going to do, is all" She told him.
"Already on it. I came to see if Bryn and Scar would accompany me. I'm going to talk to Constance's husband." Sam explained.
"Sorry I can't, I'm going to go help Liv and Dee with Dean." Scar retorted quickly. "But I'm sure Bryn would love to catch up." She added as she gathered their things and rushed from the room.
While Liv stood there dumbfounded at the fact her twin had just thrown their baby brother under the bus, Scar was out hot wiring a car.
"Scarlet Ryine Matthews!!" Bryn called after her, he knew she was trying to avoid Sam not that he blamed her.
"Shush!" Dee scolded.
"Sorry Dee, come on Sam let's get this over with." Bryn sighed as he gave Dee a brotherly kiss on the forehead.
It wasn't long before Sam and Bryn were pulling out of the drive after having severely pissed off the widow of Constance Welch.
"Was that really necessary, Sam?" Bryn accused.
"Is it necessary for Scar to be that pissed at me? For no reason?" Sam retorted.
"Don't. She has her reasons, Hell we all do! But when my sister is ready she will talk to you about it." Bryn told the male "Give her time." He told the youngest Winchester as he looked at the notes he had. "Now your sister.." Bryn started to say.
"Yeah, I know a different story. How is she by the way? I saw the bruises. We didn't even.." Sam paused. "I mean how did she move so fast?" he asked more to himself.
"You forgot your sister wouldn't jump, so she ran. That is something Dee is good at. Your sister can move." Bryn chuckled as he thought about how she was pretty quick at taking him down while he was sleepwalking.
"Are you thinking of making a move on my older sister?" Sam teased.
"Ew gross, Dee is like one of my sisters!" Bryn half yelled. "Besides, not my type, you know that already Sam." He laughed as they drove along the highway.
Dean sat cuffed in an interrogation room as Liv walked into the station, the little black skirt reached just above her knees. Her heels made her pale legs look longer than they were, Liv's long black hair was curled as she placed a badge on the counter.
"Hi, I'm Detective Marissa Evers." Liv offered as an emergency call came into the station
The sheriff looked at Liv as if she were a piece of meat, of course that was the angle they had been going for distracting with looks to make the call and get Dean the hell out of there.
"Ah Ms., I mean Detective Evers. Have a seat please there has been an emergency. Then we'll discuss the man in the back." The detective told her.
"Of course." Liv said with a gentle smile, though that was not the plan by far.
As soon as all the police had been cleared out she made her way back to the room where Dean was being held, she couldn't help but laugh at the look of shock on his face when she pushed the door open.
"You know when you wear that I don't really feel like running from the cops." Dean teased.
"Shut it, the girls are waiting for us." Liv laughed as she uncuffed him from the table. "And if you dare touch me before we get to the car, you really will be sleeping alone tonight." She threatened as she grabbed John's journal.
Dee sat in the back seat of the four door Honda a few blocks from the station, Scar watched her as she held an ice pack to her face. She wanted to check on her friend, but she also knew that Dee wanted to be left alone. Scar scanned the area as she watched Liv and Dean rush towards the car.
"Lucien was there, I thought you should know he was worried about you." Scar whispered quickly.
Dee's head snapped towards Scar so quickly the room began to spin again, her eyes widened in shock, but soon softened as she gave her friend a gentle nod of appreciation. She had thought she had dreamt him up, that she had only felt him in her dreams because of the mate connection.
"You know prank calls are illegal." Dean joked as he slid behind the wheel of the car. "Couldn't you find anything less prissy." He tacked on as he glanced around the car. "Never mind that. Dad isn't here." Dean told them as Dee called Sam to tell him and Bryn.
"Did you get him out?" Bryn asked as he answered the phone.
"Yeah but our dad isn't here." Dee quickly added as Sam was talking in the background about how Constance was going after unfaithful men.
"SAM!" Bryn yelled before the line went dead.
The four of them looked at the phone in shock and worry, their younger brothers were clearly in danger and here they were too far away. Dee growled under her breath as she started to get out of the car, Scar suddenly stopped her.
"Dee you're in no condition to drive yet. You have to trust Dean to get us there in time. Right Dean?" She pleaded.
Dean knew that his sister and both Matthews sisters trusted him with their lives, it was the fear and worry in their eyes that nearly broke him. With a quick nod he glanced at his sister in the rear view mirror.
"I bet my life on it, we'll get there and save both of our brothers. Then he needs to know Scar. Soon." Dean added as drove them towards the abandoned Welch farm.
In the commotion Bryn had been knocked unconscious, Sam had been fighting with the spirit as Dean shot out the driver side window. Before any of the sisters could open the door to get Bryn from the car Sam drove it through the house.
"Are you stupid or something!" Liv growled as she and Scar rushed forward towards the passenger side of the car.
However, the spirit had other plans, she pinned both girls to the far wall, as Sam and Dean were pinned against the front passenger side of the impala. That left Dee to deal with her, she knew what had to happen, the children needed to face their mother, the young woman slipped behind the spirit as it was distracted with her brothers and friends.
"It wasn't that you could never go home again, Constance. It was that you were afraid to." Dee called out to her as the children descended the stairs in which she stood next to. Water began to flow down the stairs as the children moved along with it. "I think it's time you paid for the wrongs you have committed; they've waited long enough." She offered as she stepped back.
The spirits of the children enveloped their mother, as a scream was released the woman in white and the children disappeared. Liv and Scar were freed from their bindings on the back wall and her brothers were able to move the dresser that had pinned them against the impala.
"Bryn?" Dee asked as she rushed to check on him.
The younger brother of the Matthews sisters groaned as he opened his eyes, a glare was thrown at Sam as he gave Dee a gentle smile.
"I like it better when you drive, I don't get knocked out." Bryn mumbled.
"Man, if you scratched baby I'll kill you." Dean whimpered.
"No, you won't, you're still grounded from her." Dee huffed. "But you can drive until I can get my bearings again." She added.
Soon the six of them were back on the road again, Sam was looking at the numbers that John had left them. They were the same code he always used, once a marine always a marine. Dee was nestled between her brothers as Dean drove her head rested on Sam's shoulder. His eyes drifted to the bruise on his sister's cheek as he glanced at the back for a moment, the others were asleep as well.
"So, the coordinates point to Black Water Ridge, Colorado." Sam whispers as to not wake the others.
"Sounds Charming, How Far?" Dean stated as he pulled the blanket over their sister, his eyes glancing up into the rear view mirror to check on Liv, who opened her eyes and smiled at him.
"About 600 miles." Sam retorted.
"If we shag ass, we can make it by morning." Dean half laughed.
"He isn't going Dean." Dee mumbled as she moved in her sleep, her head now rested on Dean's shoulder. Her brow furrowed. "Don't you remember the big interview; Sammy is going to be a lawyer. I'm proud of you Sam, I really am but there are things at home you need to take credit for as well." She groaned before opening her eyes fully. "Move over back there I'm coming back." Dee called out as he crawled over the seat while Dean was driving, not caring if it pissed her brothers off. Soon she was snuggled between Bryn and Scar peacefully sleeping again.
"What in the hell does she mean by that?" Sam asked, completely shocked at his sister's words.
"Nothing Sam, don't worry about it." Liv retorted, upset by Sam's words.
The car ride was completely silent afterwards, the sound of four sleeping souls could barely be heard over the sound of the radio. Sam tried to think about what he had done to upset his sister and Scar. It wasn't long before the impala turned on the Yale campus, Dean parked in front of Sam's place. As Sam got out of the car, he glanced back at his sister and the girl he once loved and possibly still loved.
"You'll call me if you find him?" Sam questioned. "Maybe I can meet up with you later, Huh?" He added on.
"Yeah, Alright." Dean replied not being happy with the way Sam was leaving things, especially with Scar and Dee. "Sam, you know the six of us made a hell of a team back there. We always have." He threw it out there, before driving off.
Sam walked into the apartment he shared with Jessica, as Dee climbed back over the seat to sit next to Dean. Her thoughts were elsewhere. Something about this felt wrong, she just couldn't put her finger on it quite yet. As Sam entered the apartment he had called out for his girlfriend, getting no response he went to lay down only for a drop of blood to fall on to his forehead and the room to erupt into fire.
"DEAN!" Dee shouted as she saw the bright flames appear in her side mirror.
Dean slammed on the brakes as the two siblings rushed into their little brother's apartment, Dean had dragged Sam from the burning building only to discover they had lost their sister in the process. As he tried to rush back in to find her, Scar and Liv held Dean back. There sitting on the curb was Dee covered in ashes and soot, her arm slightly burnt; what looked like a firefighter seemed to be scolding her. The male was wrapping Dee's burn as well as giving her some oxygen when Dean approached them.
"Dahlia!" Dean yelled as he threw his arms around his twin. " I thought I lost you!" He cried.
"You nearly did." The unknown male retorted. "I found her lying just inside the front door. Had I been any longer and you would be one sibling short." He half hissed.
"I.. how do you know she is my sibling?" Dean questioned defensively.
"She told me so." He countered. "Since she refuses to go to the hospital, I've bandaged her arm and hand. Placed a few things in this bag and an inhaler to help with her breathing." The male stated. "Here is my number if you have any questions." He added as he gave the number to Dean, though Dee, and the Matthews siblings knew who he really was.
"Thank you, We'll keep a close eye on her. There are five of us, and we will force her to a hospital if it gets bad." Dean divulged as he lifted Dee into his arms and headed for the impala. He placed her into the back seat. "You are to rest." He ordered her.
"How is she?" Sam asked as he moved to the trunk of the car. He watched as Liv and Scar fussed over his older sister and Bryn stood near Dean and him while he looked at the weapons in the trunk.
"She almost died, Sam. Our sister almost died trying to save your girlfriend!" Dean shouted as he pulled Sam away from the trunk. "She did it for you, do you not get that?" He hissed as he tried to keep his voice down.
"I do, Dean and that's why I won't let Jess's death or what Dee tried to do go in vain, we got work to do." Sam quipped as he looked at their arsenal and then slammed the trunk.
