This is some advice based on actions I do that could help you in the future.

You grow up or grow to love these stories in books you've read. Then they make a movie adaption and it's the complete opposite of what you've loved, so you hate it. I'm this way too, but here's something I've come to do.

Take, the show Riverdale.

(You don't have to of watched or read the comics to read this. The purpose of this is to show something I do, and it might help you to enjoy TV or Movie adaptions of books, comics ext. you love.)

I grew up with the Betty and Veronica comics, I don't know if they were being written as I grew up but I just know I read them all the time. Whenever I went to a garage sale, I got a comic of theirs I didn't own.

With Riverdale, I like this new interesting taste to their lives. I thought I'd hate it, but I guess it helps if you put things into different categories and think of it as, say fan fiction au s. There's the cannon we know from the books, and then there's what's written by someone else's that's turned into their take on the material. Another universe in a sense. Like books can be set with monsters but people write stories of them being normal people like you and me for example. And it's up to your own taste if you like the story or not.
