Chapter Four
~JUNGKOOK POV~
I was pissed.
Stomping my way towards Taehyung's office people purposely stepped out of my way as I charged towards that very glass door. In no mood for waiting around I just slammed the door open without knocking and came to a stop when Taehyung looked up from his desk, blinking at me confusingly and even Namjoon from the corner of the room.
It appears I've interrupted something but I don't care.
Glaring toward Taehyung I pointed angrily at him.
"Why the fuck did you hire Y/n?"
Taken back he leaned back in his chair, eyes much wider with surprise due to my out burst.
"Do you not like her? Don't tell me you fired her already?" Taehyung
"No I didn't fire her but tell me why you hired her?"
Hands to my hips I didn't ease up. After my interaction with her I'm in a pissed off mood.
"Her references were very good as well as her qualifications she worked her butt off to get. Plus I like talking to her." Taehyung
Shrugging his shoulders at me, he then glanced towards Namjoon while I scoffed, rolling my eyes.
"Of course you do. Everyone fucking does."
"Hey what's your problem with the new assistant Jungkook?" Namjoon
Taking steps towards me I threw a glare towards him which made him halt his steps, holding up his hands to surrender.
"My problem is that she is my wife! My fucking wife and no one told me she would be my assistant!"
I waved my hands in the air, still in disbelief that this is really happening. I mean out of everyone that applied for that position, SHE out of all of them was picked.
It's karma biting me in the ass, I just know it is.
"Seriously? She's your wife?" Namjoon
I nodded, clenching my jaw trying to keep it together and not throw something to take the edge off my anger. The way Y/n looked at me broken before running out my office is still stuck in my mind.
"I'm sorry Jungkook I didn't know. I swear I didn't." Taehyung
He stood up from his desk, looking at me with those soft eyes filled with guilt but I just sighed heavily shaking my head to stare down at the floor.
"I don't blame you Tae. I trust you judgement to hire someone good for the job and it just so happens to be the person I abandoned years ago when she needed me."
Taehyung hummed, turning his gaze away from me. Only my close friends know of what I did to Y/n and they all shared the same opinion. That I was and still am an asshole for leaving Y/n like that but there's some things no one but me knows about that day.
"I take it you both argued?" Namjoon
"Well yeah. I tried to be civil with her but in the end she got upset and thought I was going to take our son away from her. That's not what I even meant when I tried to reason with her about seeing him."
I sighed again, looking up to the ceiling as I pushed back some of my hair from my face, even if it wasn't even a bother to begin with.
"Of course she would get upset. You left her when she was in labour." Taehyung
"That's harsh." Namjoon
"DONT YOU THINK I KNOW THAT?!"
I shouted at him, but he wasn't fazed.
They don't understand, none of them do.
"I just want to make things up to her, get back onto some kind of page where we both get along."
"That's going to take time though." Namjoon
Throwing another nasty glare his way I was sick of him stating the obvious but it's true. I know it is but I hate hearing other people say it.
"But I tried to help her out after I left. I don't understand what she meant when she told me I took everything from her. I only left her I didn't take anything. Hell I even left the house to her parents for her and my son but they told me she sold it."
"Did you say you sent money to her family to? For them?" Taehyung
I nodded but I didn't miss the odd look both men shared before turning their attention back to me.
"What are you both looking at?"
"Okay first, why would you send her family money?" Namjoon
"Because the hospital told me she left with a family member when I called two days later."
"Did they say which one?" Namjoon
I shook my head, recalling the memory very well.
"Nope. Just that it was a woman but I personally spoke to her dad and he told me Y/n didn't want anything to do with me which I understood so I paid them the money to give to her since she apparently refused anything from me."
Their silence was deafening, each guy was looking away in thought. I didn't understand what they were thinking about at first but Y/n's words recalled in mind.
"You took so much from me already, please don't take my son."
Then it dawned on me.
She didn't get any of that money did she?
Rage built up inside me, my breathing became heavy as I tried to keep it under control but I couldn't.
Taehyung made eye contact with me, begging me with his eyes to keep it cool but I couldn't.
"Jungk-" Taehyung
I picked up a small vase to the left of me and threw it in a random direction. Namjoon just so happened to be close by and ducked but then charged at me and tackled to the wall, pinning my by the arms while Taehyung rushed to his side to help pin me down as I struggled against them.
"I'M GOING TO FUCKING RUIN THEM!! DONE, THEY'RE FUCKED!! GET OFF ME!"
Trying to push them back, I managed to move Namjoon a little back but he managed to over power me when Taehyung applied more pressure to my chest with his forearm.
"Look you need to calm down. Acting this way isn't going to solve shit." Namjoon
"But they lied to me!! They lied to Y/n! God knows what happened to them! What she had to go through because of my stupid decisions and my so- My son."
Hanging my head low I stopped struggling against them. My hands dropping to my sides as I loose the will to do anything more.
I don't know my son, I don't know his name or what he looks like but I do love him. I never stopped and there was never a day that didn't go by when I didn't think about him.
"Are you done?" Namjoon
I nodded, not uttering a word.
The two of them glanced at one another satisfied and stepped back, finally to let me go so I could adjust my suit and fix my hair. They copied me by fixing their shirts and ties.
"I'm sure you'll get to the bottom of it Jungkook but for now I think the best thing to do is just work along side Y/n. Don't bring your son up to her and just allow her to become more comfortable with you on her own terms." Taehyung
"Taehyung's right Jungkook. Remain calm, don't go all bat shit crazy all the time and just go with it. See what happens." Namjoon
I hummed, sent them both a thankful glance and left the room without a word. Closing the door behind me I made my way back to my office. Y/n wasn't back yet where ever she went so I just left her a note on her desk telling her what she could do for the rest of the day.
Nothing much but something to keep her busy and not have to interact with me either. Its easier this way, at least for today. She needs space and so do I.
