Chapter 45

Leigh and Christopher had been talking on the phone every night since he arrived in New York. He made sure to call her each night even if it was just for a few minutes to tell her good night before bed. They would also text each other throughout the day when they could. Leigh had been sending Christopher pictures of Chase during his photoshoot to get his opinion and ideas of poses that they could use. She had not passed on the information to Christopher about Jackson moving into their building yet. She figured she should probably wait and tell him about that during their nightly phone call. As she was getting into bed her phone rang.

"Hello," Leigh says happily.

"Hey babe," Christopher says. "How did the rest of the photoshoot go? Were you able to convince Chase to do the Camden Brothers calendar yet?" he asks playfully.

"No, not yet. I think it is safe to say that you will be the only model in the family, for now, " Leigh replies laughing. "It was fun watching Chase trying to sit thru all of those poses. Jayden did a really good job with the pictures. So how was your day?" she asks.

"It was good. I had a shoot this morning that went well, then grabbed lunch with some of the other people from the shoot. It was nice to have some people to hang out with after work. When I had originally decided to move here, I thought I would be able to spend time with Chase again. Instead, I am here all alone missing you, and my brother," he says sadly.

"I understand. That's how I felt when I moved here. Then I met you, and Jayden. Also, now thanks to Chase I have spent more time around Harrison too. He and Jayden seem to be getting a lot closer, so I guess I will still get to see him after Chase moves back to New York. This place is starting to feel like home. I just wish that you were here too. I'm glad that you're making new friends there too though," she says.

"Me too babe. So how did things go today at work with that Jackson guy? Did he bother you?"

"No, he didn't bother me at work. I saw him at lunch for a few minutes. Actually, that's probably the only time I will see him at work. He is going to be really busy trying to get his movie back on schedule. Speaking of Jackson there is something that I need to tell you though."

"You sound worried. What's going on Leigh?" Christopher asks.

"Remember how I told you that I helped Jackson check out some apartments the other day?"

"Yeah," he replies hesitantly.

"Well, he didn't tell me that he was also going to be looking at an apartment here in our building."

"No fucking way! He is not moving into our building." Leigh stays quiet for a second. "Leigh are you still there?" Christopher asks.

"He's already signed a lease. We found out tonight when we ran into him coming out of the building," she quietly explains.

"So did you tell him that he couldn't live there?" Christopher asks trying to calm down. He doesn't want to take his frustrations out on Leigh.

"Yeah, I told him that I was not happy about it, but there is not a lot that I can do about it. He had already signed a three-month lease. The apartment that he is renting is upstairs, so at least he's not on the same floor as us. He promised to give me my space."

"This guy is unbelievable," Christopher says annoyed.

"Look I'm not happy about it, but I don't think he's trying to take advantage of the situation. He told us that he just really likes the neighborhood, and he likes the fact that he would know people in the building. Jackson is on the road a lot and doesn't get to see his friends much. Living in a place where he knows people just makes it feel more like home I guess. After I got over my initial shock about it, I believe him. It's kind of like we were talking about earlier. It sucks to be in a new place all alone with no one to hang out with. We will make it work, and it's only for three months."

"This guy just really pisses me off," Christopher says.

"How about we talk about something else?" Leigh asks. I don't want to spend our time talking about Jackson okay."

"You're right. I'm sorry" Christopher agrees with a sigh.

"So Christmas is just around the corner. Do you have anything on your wish list that I could start looking for?" Leigh asks.

"Well, all of this talk about pictures has got me thinking. I sure would like some more pictures of you in that sexy lingerie from the other day. How about a framed 8x10 of you in it for my nightstand. Or you could come here, and model it for me while I take my own pictures of you. Then I could unwrap my present when I rip that lingerie off of you," he says hungrily.

"Those pictures would be for your eyes only mister," Leigh says giggling.

"God, I miss you so much. I wish you were here with me right now, he says in a husky voice.

"Me too. I can't wait to see you at Christmas. You are still planning on coming home at Christmas right?" she asks.

"Yes, of course. I wouldn't miss it. Mom wants us all of us to spend the weekend at the house with them though. Chase doesn't like that idea, but he will do it for her. We always go to church as a family on Christmas Eve and then go back to my parent's house for a late dinner. Would you come with me Leigh?" he asks.

"I would love to come with you, but I don't want to impose on your family time," she replies.

"Leigh my family loves you. They will want you there with us."

"Okay, then that sounds wonderful. I love Christmas Eve services."

"What about your family? Are you going to be seeing them for the holidays?" Christopher asks.

"I still need to talk to them about it. I think this year I will be staying here in Atlanta the whole time. My mom will be disappointed, but she will understand. I'm not sure what Wyatt's schedule will be. I don't know if he will make it home either. I need to call him to find out. I don't want my mom spending Christmas alone," she says sadly.

"Maybe she could come to Atlanta for Christmas," Christopher suggests. "She could go to church with us and come over for dinner afterward. You could both stay at my parents with us. They have plenty of room. Then we could get up Christmas morning, and open presents together. My dad would be thrilled. In fact, I will call my mom first thing tomorrow, and set it all up," he says.

"That all sounds great, but let me talk to my mom first, and I will let you know. I don't want to get your dad's hope up, and then she decides not to make the trip."

"Good point. In fact, if we do this I think we should surprise dad with it. Can you imagine the look his face when he sees your mom walk into the church," Christopher says laughing.

"Are you sure he won't get mad at us for keeping it a secret from him?" Leigh asks.

"God no. If you introduce him to your mom, he will love you forever. It will be the best Christmas gift that you could ever give him. Well besides a Camden grandchild of course."

"Woah hold on there tiger, that's not going to be happening anytime soon," she says.

"I know I'm just saying he has already been reminding Chase and I that it is up to us to carry on the Camden family name. He will be thrilled when we have kids," Christopher says.

"Well, I will call my mom first thing tomorrow, and hopefully, start making plans for him to meet her. That I can handle," she says.

"Sounds good. I know it's getting late. I better let you go," Christopher says.

"Okay, have a great day tomorrow. I will call you, and let you know what mom says."

"Okay, night baby," Christopher says sweetly.

"Night Christopher."

Leigh goes to bed thinking about how Christopher's idea for Christmas seems like so much fun. She hopes that her mom will come to Atlanta. Hopefully, Wyatt can come too. He probably won't want to stay at the Camden house though. He has kind of become a loner since their dad died. I guess he could stay here at my apartment, and mom and I could stay at the Camden's house. Leigh couldn't help but wonder what Jackson's plans for Christmas were. Would he be flying home to be with his mom or staying in Atlanta too? No matter what had happened between them in the past she didn't want him to be spending Christmas here alone. Maybe his mom could fly out with her mom and could stay with him here for Christmas. She would need to call Jackson and see what he thought of the idea after she talked to her mom. "Whew, lots of plans to make. I better get some sleep."
