Prologue part 2: The Trade
A blizzard was brewing in the ice kingdom.
Luna new this from the large clouds in the dark sky, so she hurried to the large lake. The lake was cleverly hidden, but a sliver of moon was out, and that was all Luna needed to be bombarded by the knowledge of the universe. She gave the moons word, and in return, they gave her immense knowledge. When she got to the lake she could hear the sounds of a dragon splashing around. She unfolded her letter, the only thing she had to trade. But she knew, from the moons immense knowledge, that this dragon would do anything to meet new dragons other then her family. So she rapped on the icy walls with her talons, waiting for her company.

Winterheart froze in the middle of leaping out of the icy cold water when she heard the loud rapping noise vibrating off the the cave walls. Hailstorm heard it to, and immediately dropped the scroll he was reading and hid under a rock ledge. "Oh Hailstorm, don't be such a scaredy-cat, it's probably nothing." She scolded him though her mind was racing. But she couldn't let Hailstorm see that. He was scared, and she needed to be his brave big sister. ~I thought the contract meant that Snowfall couldn't send assassins after us anymore~ she thought, worried for Hailstorm and slightly scared herself.
But then a voice echoed across the cave. "I mean no harm. Please let me enter. I have a offer that you will not want to miss.".
Winterheart grabbed her tiara from it's hiding spot, the very nest in which she had been hatched. She grabbed it and placed it on her head, and the hooks snapped around her horns perfectly.
She cautiously approached the entrance, and breathed a sigh of relief when she saw a young nightwing girl, about the same age as her. "Hi!" She greeted her. "What's this great offer of yours that I don't want to miss?" The nightwing girl smiled at her. "If you give me a scale from your father, I'll give you an invitation to Jade Mountain Academy!" Winterheart wrinkled her snout at the girl. "I do want to go, but I can't leave Hailstorm here, he'd be to scared." "Don't worry,I have one for him to.". Winterheart sighed. "I guess I don't really have a choice do I?" "Nope, you don't!" "Alright, let me go grab a scale.".
She flew back to the nest, and plucked a scale that her father had lost from its warm feathers.
"Here you go," she said, dropping it into the nightwing girls talons.
"Thanks!" She replied, and in return, handed her the two invitations. "Will I see you there?" Winterheart asked the girl, examining the letter. She nodded. "Great!" She replied.
The girl turned to leave, but Winterheart stopped her. "Wait!" She cried, "What's your name?".
The girl turned and faced her.
" My name is Luna."

Luna smiled as she flew home to the rainforest. She had gotten the scale. She could now complete the potion that would tell her who her missing parent was. The universe knew of course, but it wouldn't tell her. but now she would know, and moons, would the answer surprise her.
