Honeystorm felt a grief sag at her paws. Poor Smallkit! Bubbleleap had left the nursery because it still had Smallkit's scent in it. Now Bubbleleap was staying in the elder's den... Butterflykit slept with Flamekit and Blossomkit every night but there weren't any queens in there to stay with them. 

 Honeystorm tried to stamp out the cold guilt that kept gnawing at her making her stomach lurch, but every time she pushed the feeling away it would return stronger than ever. Honeystorm decided she didn't want to stay in the silent camp where the air seemed to always be heavy now.

 "Where are you going Honeystorm?" Hailfeather asked as she made her way to the camp entrance.

"Just gathering herbs." Honeystorm replied curtly.

"Alright. That's fine just be careful around the borders. The other clans have been a little tense recently." Hailfeather replied, flicked her fluffy, gray tail. Honeystorm nodded and quickly padded away.

 If only Hailfeather would stop bothering everyone and warning everyone how 'Oh my! The other clans are unhappy!'. Nevertheless Hailfeather was a good deputy for Elmclan.

 Honeystorm bounded through the forest, fog settling near the ground. She felt her eyes wandering towards the Airclan border. One thought flooded her mind... Lightsplash is the Airclan deputy! Stop your daydreaming and gather herbs.

She suddenly heard some bracken rustle. She held still, her breath slowed as she nervously looked around. Then she saw Lightsplash's head poke out from the ferns.

"Psst! Over here!" Lightsplash whispered. Honeystorm blinked feeling slightly taken aback. What was he doing here? Finally, she padded over to him and jumped into the bunch of ferns.

"Huh?" Honeystorm asked with a startled expression.

"I-I'm sorry to disturb you. It's just... I saw you passing by and I..... I need to see you again!" Lightsplash whispered. Honeystorm shifted her paws.

"Why do you need to see me?" Honeystorm asked slowly.

"I....I-I don't know myself but you've been in my mind recently..." Lightsplash muttered.

"...You've been on my mind too..." Honeystorm whispered softly. Lightsplash moved slightly closer to her as they looked into each others eyes. She could feel Lightsplash's soft breath on her muzzle. Then she shook her head to clear her thoughts.

"Shouldn't you be with Airclan right now?" Honeystorm replied making sure her tone was thin and casual.

"I guess...." Lightsplash murmured. She could hear the tone of slight guilt in Lightsplash's voice.

"Hey. No reason to be glum!" Honeystorm laughed, her amber eyes brightened playfully. Lightsplash purred and his whiskers twitched.

"You're right, I need to help my clan. Can't wait to see you tonight!" Lightsplash meowed.

"Of course! See you there tonight!" Honeystorm meowed.
