Los Angeles, 1993.

Nineteen-year-old Bettie Wuornos arrives in the City of Angels as the new bassist of Marilyn Manson, replacing former fling Gidget Gein.

A former groupie with bad habits and an even-worse attitude, she immediately finds herself butting heads with her new producer, Trent, — who she unfortunately finds herself magnetically drawn to, despite his control freak nature and smartass replies to her snide remarks.

Over the next five years, Bettie experiences the highs and lows of rock and roll stardom, from starting up her own record label to touring the world, rubbing elbows with everyone from Bowie to LaVey, going everywhere from seedy nightclubs and mountain cabins to mansion parties and rehab facilities.

She experiences love and hate, loss and addiction, the highest highs and the lowest lows as she constantly finds herself revising the list of people she can trust.

In the end, she might just end up in the exact same place that she started.

After all, Bettie has never been any stranger to ruining lives, — especially her own.
