They stood there awkwardly, staring at each other not quite believing that the other one was actually right there.

Charlie was the first one to move. He walked towards her, slow at first and then ran. His arms wrapped around Jane, who stumbled back a little completely taken by surprise.

Charlie buried his face in her soft hair and murmured, "Jane..."

Hearing him say her name with such tenderness, made Jane's stomach flip. She moved her arms up cautiously and placed them gently onto his back. Just holding him made her realize once again that Charlie was actually real. Touching him made her feel so complete, like a part of her that she'd been searching for had been found.

This was her Charlotte. Finally here, in person. Holding her.

Her eyes welled up with tears and she tried to blink them away.

"I thought it was supposed to be Janette," she said in a thick voice. "And not Jane."

She felt his arms tightening around her as she hugged him back. He didn't say anything but merely chuckled softly. She loved the sound.
