Episode 14: Fool Me Once

As you'll probably be able to tell from this chapter, I just recently watched Batman V Superman.

Mystic Falls:

Y/N thought he was gonna get some sleep. He thought that he wouldn't have to think about anything else until morning comes and he can prepare for the tomb. He thought that, for at least a couple hours, he was gonna have a moment of quiet.

But, of course he was wrong.

He called Candor's phone the next morning, but got no response. That was odd having it be the old man, as he always seems to pick up, no matter time of day/night it is. So.... he decided to sell a few hours of sleep to check on him at his place....

Which, he, of course, eventually found himself driving at a crime scene. He watches at the place is covered in yellow tape, and eventually, Candor is carried away into an ambulance in a body bag. All they were able to find was a beating heart that was ripped out of his body, meaning only one thing.

"I know, I'm gonna miss him too..." Damon Salvatore's voice rings out right beside him, the Vampire apparently having learned that he came here and made his way back to his own crime that he committed. "But, in that 'I really wished I was more creative and scary with it' kind of way."

"What do you want?" Y/N blankly asks him, his eyes focused on the crime scene, his voice cold and his breathing heavy. He's clearly trying to hold his emotions together, and as far as he can tell, Damon is enjoying every bit of it.

"Well, last night, I was very, very pissed when I learned that you, Stefan, and Elena, tried to go behind my back and burn my only way into the tomb.... but then got even more so when I eventually realized that you kept it for yourself instead." Damon answers before stepping over in front of him, looking deep into his eyes with a glare. "Where is the grimoire?"

"Up your cock....." Y/N spits at him in response, not showing a shred of fear in his expression and voice. "So how about you go suck it and see if it comes out?" He suggests to him with a bitter tone before walking away to finally be rid of him for now, only for Damon to super-speed around him so he's standing in front of him again.

"Oh, don't be like that...." Damon clicks his tongue and shakes his head, knowing that he can't get rid of him that easily. "I'm only half-responsible for the old alligator's death. Okay? You know how hard it is to release anger when your emotions are doubled? Killing's the only way to release it!" He vents to the teen as if he's supposed to relate. "And, in my defense, he deserved it."

"And you wonder why everybody wants to double cross you." Y/N sarcastically mutters with a shake of his head, wondering if he's ever done a double-check of his own personality. "You ever think about the people you killed? Or are they just blurs after a few days?"

"I don't kill people unless they either, one, get in my way, or two, pack a lot of blood in their system." Damon tells Y/N like he's trying to justify his actions, or maybe he's just taunting a reaction out of him. "Like I said... I'm not Stefan."

"No, you're worse."

"Exactly." Damon doesn't deny with a hardened look. "And because you tried to loop around our little deal, I think I might change my terms in retaliation as well...." He then mentions before putting a hand on his chin. "Or maybe I will leave, after all, it's only her that's keeping me here in the first place." He adds, before giving Y/N a twisted smirk as he takes a step back. "See you at the tomb, pal."

Y/N stares at him for a good long while..... before he cracks a smile.

"You know what? I think we both agree on that." Y/N replies with a nod, Damon raises a brow at him before deciding that he's done here and super-speeds away, leaving the teen to watch him leave with some partying words.

"I'll be seeing you at the tomb."

Mystic Grill: Hours Later

Drinking, that's all he's doing now is just drinking. Well, technically, the bar doesn't know that. But he has spiked his 'crystal Pepsi' every time he knew the employees of the diner weren't watching. Having it be in a glass bottle works for him too, since it'll mean he can just toss it away just like how he feels like doing to himself right now.

"Hey man, you know there's going to be a literal party happening tonight, right?" A voice chimes in, prompting Y/N to glance over and see his bro, Jeremy Gilbert, sitting down beside him, the pro buzz-man having easily noticed the other guy's methods. "You don't have to drink so hard."

"I'm pre-gaming." Y/N responds with a tired voice as he takes another sip out of the bottle. He heard about it from Tyler, after all, he was going to be one of the first people he told. It's Sunday, meaning it's still the weekend, meaning that the teens of Mystic High are going to be doing their own worshipping out in the cemetery. Nope, he is not kidding, it's at a grave site. "Whatever they're gonna bring at the fire isn't gonna be enough."

"Man..... was it rough last night?" Jeremy queries, his face turned from joking to concern as he sees Y/N not even cracking a smile at his teasing attempts.

"Yup...." Y/N confirms with a nod. "Rough."

"What happened?" Jeremy asks the obvious next question, only to get a blank stare from Y/N in response that has him creeped out, a much different reaction that he was expecting. "Don't you, like, wanna talk about it? You always do."

"Like I said...." Y/N looks away, which is pretty much his answer of 'no'. "It was rough."

Thankfully, there's other stuff to occupy his mind, like teenagers being teenagers.

"Ten kegs? You know how much damage we could do with ten kegs?" Tyler boasts to Matt as the guy cleans up tables next to him, talking to him like the guy isn't currently working. But hey, how else is he gonna spread the word? "Duke's got it all hooked up. It might be enough to get Bonnie's bro back out of Orleans for one more party."

Oh yeah, the other Bennet kid. Y/N heard of him from Bonnie and the guys. His name is James, as he supposedly was also on the football team along with Ben until an injury pulled him out and he was forced into some other club. Weirdly though, only Matt, Tyler, and Jeremy seem to actually know him. Y/N's left out of this equation due to him joining the team right after James took that hit.

"No way her brother would actually come back for someone like him." Matt comments with a look. "Duke's a douche."

"Yeah, a douche with ten kegs. Aka, my new best friend." Tyler replies with a shrug, clearly not caring about that last part, maybe Matt needs to be reminded about who he's talking to. Seems like Jeremy was thinking the same thing as Y/N, as he chuckles under his breath, which gets heard by the other guys. "What's the problem, Gilbert?"

"Don't have one, Lockwood."

"Yeah, I didn't think so." Lockwood says with a look while sharpening his pool stick, this brief, but rough exchange pushes one of Y/N's buttons.

"Leave him alone, Tyler." Y/N quickly demands at the jock, getting everyone else's attention as they see him glaring at the rich kid with zero subtext behind the eyes. "Vicki's gone, she played with both of you, end of story." He seethes. "If anything, you should be lucky Jeremy tried to be friendly with you in the first place."

"Yeah, well, I don't need it." Tyler dismissively remarks as he continues his personal single player game of pool. However, Matt and Jeremy stay where they are as they see the venom in Y/N's voice. "He can keep that keep that goblin giggling to himself, or the next girl he scares out of town."

At that moment, Y/N's bottle shatters on the ground.

"Hey man, why are you always being such a dick?" Y/N snaps as he shoots out of his stool and marches over to him, the scene now changing in seconds. "What? You trying to show off to your daddy? Let him know how strong you are, picking on kids who don't have their parents still alive?"

Tyler gives him a look as he sets the pool stick down and turns to face him. "Hey man, what's your problem now?"

"No, actually, I think that's the question you should be answering." Y/N re-directs back at him as he gets right in his face, causing the other two guys to get uncomfortable. "So what's wrong, huh? Tell us..."

"Hey..." Matt tries to step in between them. "Guys, come on, this is not the place-"

"Oh, no, Matt, don't stop him now." Y/N cuts him off with a hand while keeping his eyes on the man he has problem with. "Tyler over here was just showing us how tough he is..." He mocks as he takes an angry step towards him. "Come on, Tyler..... be tough, show me how tough you are..."

Tyler glares back at him, trying to seem unphased, by his lips and eyes betray any kind of believability in that. "Don't do this man..."

"What? What's wrong, bro?" Y/N questions with a taunting face, putting his hand on the guy and softly shoving him. "I thought you were tough?" He shoves him again, pushing at least one of Tyler's buttons each time he does it. "Come on, stand up to me.... show me you're the alpha of the school body, come on..."

"Y/N...." Matt touches his shoulder. "Seriously, stop-"

"Shut the fuck up, Matt!" Y/N abruptly curses the blonde guy out, giving him a glare full of rage. He then snaps his head back at Tyler, who's close to losing it himself. "What happened, Tyler?" He whispers at the guy aggressively. "You suddenly became a pussy, now?"

"Fuck you." Tyler swears in the guy's face, though it only causes Y/N to smirk.

"No thank you..." Y/N mocks him in response, showing a playful non-impressed look. "Last time you tried that, Vicki got put in the hospital."

"You fucking-!"

"Hey, hey! Enough!" Matt quickly steps in more seriously this time, setting down his tray and separating the two before they can start trading punches. "What the hell's up with you two, today?!" He questions them, though Y/N finds everyone's eyes on him, including Jeremy's.

Breathing heavily, Y/N takes his canteen before storming out of the Grill, leaving the other three guys extremely confused by his actions.

Fuck that prick.

He eventually stomps back to his motorbike, taking deep breaths to calm himself down, though they barely seem to work. Even the cold air isn't enough to cancel the heat he has inside. Why does have it to be him? Why do they get to only deal with petty things like school drama while he.... he has to suffer through his father, and his friend getting killed because of some prick who wants to re-get the girl.

Why can't he get his mind erased?

WHY?!

"Hey..." A familiar female voice brings Y/N out of his negative thoughts as he swiftly turns around to see Anna standing right behind him, though without clearly noticing the breathing he was just doing. "You okay?"

"Yeah, yeah...." Y/N replies with a tired voice as he rubs his face, before shaking his head. "I mean, no...." He chuckles in a weird way before giving Anna a seemingly genuine smile. "I am now." He tells her, meaning it, and Anna shows an amused smirk as she seems to believe him. "What's up?"

"I.... I really need to tell you something, like, right now." Anna shares with him with a mixed expression on her face, causing Y/N to blink at her, confused. "Because..... well, I'm quite literally not gonna be able to tell you tomorrow."

"What?" Y/N asks with a squint, wanting her to know that he can tell him anything, especially right now, since he'll probably be able to take it. "What's wrong?"

"I'm...." Anna says the first word, though she's clearly hesitating/struggling for a bit. "I'm.... I'm leaving." She finally manages to get it out, causing Y/N to blink again. "Me and my mom..... we're leaving town, tomorrow, and...."

"Oh....." Is all that Y/N can really say as he glances down at the concrete, his heart and brain combatting each other with different reactions all at once. He can't lie and say he isn't pissed, but he also does understand.... but he's also sad... and... scared.... and. "I see."

Anna, seeing that, that's all he has to say, let's how a sigh of guilt. "I'm sorry, I-"

"No, no, don't." Y/N quickly interrupts her before she speaks, not wanting to force her to make an excuse. "Look, I know it's not your fault, I just.... I'm just pissed because this is supposed to be the part where I invite you to the party Duke's having, who's real name is bob, he's just called that because he goes to Duke University. But.... I have an entire thing I gotta do tonight, and..." He lets out an exhausted sigh. "Life sucks right now."

"When doesn't it?" Anna quips with a shrug, trying to lighten the mood. Sadly, it only works by about two percent of Y/N's mood. He can think of a few moments, actually. "But... hey, we still have our numbers, so... hopefully it's not too bad?" She mentions with a hopeful look, a reminder that does a much better job than the joke she made.

Y/N nods with a bigger smile.

"Yeah... hopefully."

Mystic Falls: Somewhere

Man, he's tired, and he doesn't like being tired, not on a day like this. All Y/N can remember is driving away, finding a random spot that gives privacy so he can clear his head. He's still not exactly sure how to deal with so much pent up anger that suddenly came out of the surface like that.

He shut his for two seconds....

And when he opens them, he finds himself in an underground train tunnel. At least, that's what thinks. It's not at all one of those subways, but rather, the tunnels you'd see in books. Y/N's surrounded by rocks on the walls, dirt on the floor and the steel of the train tracks. He tries looking around and feeling himself, but there's no clear injury on his body, providing no clue as to what happened.

The lighting should be non-existent, but it's somewhat dim which is why he was able to see all the details earlier. It's no sure where it's coming from though, it's like there's some invisible camera turning on it's light and shining it on him only. It definitely prevents him from seeing anything further than six inches away, he can give it that.

"Y/N...."

A voice whispers his name, causing him to snap his head at where it came from. He's unable to recognize who it belongs to, but he could tell what it said.... is it a stranger's voice? Is he about to deal with the mysterious Vampire?

"Weak..."

Another voice whispers, this one much more raspy than the feminine one he just heard. Y/N blinks as he begins walking towards where the voices are coming from, stepping out of the light and into the darkness.

"Over-confident...."

Now it seems like Y/N's just getting bland insults as he continues following the voices, nothing that could scare him or make him mentally question himself. Yeah, maybe he is weak and over-confident. So what? He's human.

"Your fault....."

Suddenly, Y/N's legs stop, causing him to glance down at them in confusion. He tries to get one forward, but it's like they've just stopped moving entirely. He wonders if something's grabbed them, but it doesn't feel that way, nor can he say any cause of that.

"Miss Pierce..."

Now, voices ring out that.... that Y/N recognizes. That one.... that was Stefan.

"My brother likes to play rough."

Him again.

"Somehow, I think you'd play rougher."

A female's voice then rings out, Y/N wonders if he's forced to listen because he can't move. But then... he suddenly falls over due to getting re-control of his legs. Groaning a bit, he gets himself back up when he sees a light at the end of the tunnel.

"Both coming to my rescue..... how will I ever choose?"

There's a small earthquake, causing Y/N to shake in his step, he waits for it to end he can stand up straight, but it never stops. Then he realizes....

It isn't an earthquake.

The walls are closing in on him.

Y/N's instincts kickstart as he runs over towards the light in the tunnel, but now matter how far he runs, it never seems like he gets any closer... like the tunnel is purposefully extending to sadistically make fun of him.

"I need someone to escort me."

Y/N is getting tired, his feet are giving in, the walls are getting closer, until eventually, his arms and the side of his legs are scraping against them...

"Fun times over...."

"I know..."

With that, they then abruptly close, squishing him inside...

.........................

Until his vision flashes and he finds himself.... outside? But it feels.... different. The sunlight's able to help with him seeing the area. This place feels like Mystic Falls, but everything's..... different.

It looks.... older.

"As descendants of the founding families, they will want to know if they can count on you." An old man's voice suddenly comes into his ears, prompting Y/N to turn around to see him, and.... Stefan? And.... Damon?

They look just like how Y/N remembers them, but Stefan and Damon's hair styles are different and their clothes.... they look like they belonged in the 18 hundreds.

"Of course, they can. Is there any doubt?" Stefan responds to his father as they completely walk past Y/N like he isn't there, the younger brother's shoulder even fading through Y/N's instead of bumping into it.

"I'm not sure your brother, Damon...." The old man responds as he gives his son a distasteful glare. "...understands the importance of duty."

Y/N sees Damon's face, he seems stung, yet trying to seem uncaring.

"Damon left the confederacy on principle. It was his choice and should be respected." Stefan points out, causing Y/N to blink in surprise. This is... this is during the Civil War? Then this is.....

This is literally 1864.

"You'll forgive me if I have trouble respecting a deserter."

"Well, I never asked for your respect." Damon retorts with a bitter look towards what seems to be his father, given by how they talk about respect and how the old man refers to Damon as Stefan's brother.

Is this supposed to be... Guiseppe Salvatore? The one mentioned in the journals?

"Good for you, Damon." The old man snaps his head towards his son with a peeved look. "Because all I have is disappointment." He states before the two engage in a tense stare down that lasts until Stefan speaks again.

"You said the town is in trouble?" Stefan re-directs the conversation back to the earlier topic, wanting to avoid his family from fighting with one another again. Guiseppe looks back at him with a haunted expression.

"There's been too many deaths." Guiseppe states, Y/N finds himself absorbed in the conversation due to it being the only thing that's not confusing to him right now. "It is time for us to fight back, stop these killers!"

"Killers? What are you talking about?"

"We live amongst demons..."

"You're being cryptic now, father." Damon quips with a teasing smirk, knowing exactly what Guiseppe is referring to. "Why don't you just say the word?"

And say it, he does.

"Vampires..... they exist..... and they live amongst us." Guiseppe finally reveals, letting Y/N see that the town knew of their existence longer than they realized. "But we have a plan to kill them." He gives them all a encouraging look. "And you're going to help us."

The two boys nod...

And Y/N feels a hand touch his shoulder...

He turns around....

And sees Bonnie Bennet's face.... except she's bleeding from her empty eye sockets like they've been completely ripped out, small drips coming from the corners of her mouth... but she doesn't seem to mind.

"You didn't save me.... Stefan did..." Bonnie criticizes him before grabbing him by the throat.

Which causes the entire world around him to shift and change.

....

..........

...........

Now he's back in the same timeframe of Mystic Falls, the sun still shining, but it seems like he's in a different area now. Y/N glances around while feeling his throat, gasping the second he gets his air back.

"You can trust me, Mr. Salvatore." He then hears a female voice, prompting him to turn to his left and see Guiseppe Salvatore playing a game of what might be golf, though he's not sure since there always seems to be a new one he hasn't heard about. "I would never cheat."

Hold on a second..... The woman he's playing with.... is that.... Elena?

No.... Katherine.

Glancing around, Y/N sees the two Salvatore brothers approaching. "I'm losing over here! Again!" Guiseppe playfully complains to his sons, who watch happily to see the girl having a good time.

"She's good." Damon quietly comments to Stefan, though if Y/N recalls correctly, it's possible Katherine can still hear them from where she's standing. "I almost believe she genuinely likes him."

"Perhaps she does." Stefan responds, though Damon scoffs at this.

"She knows father would have her killed if he knew the truth."

"Not if we talk to him, explained how we feel." Stefan suddenly suggests, Damon blinks when this comes out of his mouth. "He can help us keep her safe."

"Have you gone mad?" Damon turns towards his brother, looking at him as if he just said the most suicidal thing on Earth. "No, no, father would drive the stake in her himself!"

"That's not true, we can trust him-"

"No, no, not with this." Damon protests with a shake of his head, putting his hand on his brother's shoulder. "No, please.... promise me you won't tell him, Stefan." He begs him, Y/N can see the genuine worry in his eyes.

Stefan glances at Katherine, conflicted, before nodding at him.

"I promise."

Then.... Y/N ears a whistle, he's somehow able to tell that it's directed towards him.

He looks back at the game.....

And sees Raymond L/N.... his dad.... looking back at him.

He has the same exact twisted features as Bonnie had.

"You couldn't do shit, son..."

He then lines up his ball and with one swing of his club, sends it square at his face.

...................

...................

.......................

............................

After the pain goes away, Y/N takes his hands off of his face to see that the world's changed yet again, now... it's night time... and he's... inside an old house. He also feels the hit he just took no longer hurts, like it didn't really happen.

He hears loud voice yelling and barking in the background, and then rough footsteps behind him, causing him to turn towards them and see men marching up the steps. Curious, he follows them into a room where Guiseppe Salvatore stands over Katherine Pierce's unconscious body until the men grab the weakened Vampire by her arms and legs, bolting a device that holds her mouth closed, and carries her out.

Damon walks in to see this, his expression quickly turning into one of horror. "No! Don't take her!" The man begs as he tries to intervene, only to get pulled back and slammed against the wall by his father.

"Do you know what they'll do to you if you're branded a sympathizer?!" Guiseppe reminds him as a warning to keep him from doing something stupid. Damon barely pays attention to him though as his eyes remain the woman being taken away, struggling against his hold. "You'll be killed along with them!"

"Then let me be killed!" Damon barks, his face showing that he means it.

Suddenly Guiseppe stops, and slowly turns around towards Y/N, his face having now turned into Candor's, along with his eyes missing.

"You can't do anything without a supernatural's help..."

He then casually takes out his heart and presents it to Y/N... before crushing it in his palm, splashing blood all over Y/N's face and eyes....

..........................

.......................................

...................................

...............................

He staggers back until he suddenly feels himself falling into dirt. The blood suddenly disappears, allowing him to see, and after a few blinks, Y/N watches as Katherine gets taken into a carriage and wheeled away.

"Damon! Damon!" Y/N hears Stefan's voice shouting at his brother, causing him to turn to his right and see the man holding the black-haired man back from literally charging at a group of armed men. "Stop, stop. I'll help you. We'll get her back."

"Help me?!" Damon shoves Stefan's hands off of him as he glares deep into his brother's eyes. "Don't you think you've done enough? You promised you wouldn't tell him!"

"I didn't think this would happen...." Stefan tells Damon with a guilty face that shows how truly sorry he is. They look back as Katherine gets farther and farther away from them. Now it all make sense for Y/N...

The church wasn't a mis-lead attack... it was to burn the Vampires.

"You did this...." Damon accuses in Stefan's face, his voice venomous with hatred. "This is your fault!"

He then runs away, still determined to save his love....

And then... Jeremy Gilbert suddenly steps into Y/N's view.

"You're forced to grieve alone..."

He then punches him straight in the face, harder than Y/N expected, causing him to grab it and fall back onto he ground.

....................

...........................

...................................

..........................

When the pain's gone, he blinks a bit, looking up to see that sadly, the sun hasn't returned for this scene, though he's now in the woods with a wooden hut that seems to have barely been worked on, or maybe Y/N is just judging it as a modern building and not as a past one.

Actually... this seems similar to the place Katherine took him when he got shot by Damon... only that it's in 1860's

"And that's why you won't win." Damon Salvatore's voice speaks, but as Y/N glances towards the source, he sees that it's the modern version he knows good and well, walking towards him with a smirk. "Love the commitment, but.... you're gonna have to face facts that the only way you'll have me out of your life, is if you allow me to open the tomb."

Y/N takes deep breaths as he sits himself up on his buttocks, looking up at Damon with a perplexed look. "How did you that?"

"It's a special trick only the Vampires who study on themselves a lot know." Damon explains while pointing at his mind with a finger gun, before he circles around Y/N, glancing at the woods his mind created. "By the way, it was super easy to get into your mind, you really need to work on your mental exercises..."

"And what exactly is the point of this?!" Y/N questions in a shout as he shoots himself up to his feet, glaring at Damon harshly. "Am I supposed to feel bad for you now? You lost your girl and is now willing to do whatever it takes to bring her back?" He scoffs at him with a sarcastic grin. "Yeah, I noticed that, you prick!"

"You say that like I was the one who wanted to be a Vampire." Damon comments while pointing at yourself, causing Y/N to give him a look.

"Didn't you?"

Damon laughs out loud at him. "Oh, boy.... I forgot, you really don't know the full story at all..." He points out with a somewhat disappointed look on his face. "Y/N, you know what happened after they took Katherine away?" He queries the teen, who puts a few pieces of what he's gotten together.

"You went after her..."

"Correct." Damon confirms with a point of his finger. "However, as you can guess, we failed...." He turns one of his hands into a finger gun, before 'firing' two bullets that Y/N actually hears in the background, belonging to a musket. "Badly."

"And so you came back to life due to the blood in your system." Y/N correctly guesses as he's perfectly aware of how the turning process works. You drink Vampire blood, you die, you come back. "That doesn't change the fact that you had to kill someone to complete the process."

"And I was willing to forget that!" Damon snaps as he abruptly raises his voice, causing Y/N to flinch as his feet freeze in place. He's never heard him that angry before. "The woman I loved was gone, when Emily Bennet took Stefan and me into a hut to hide, I was willing to just die in peace, right there!" He tells Y/N, passionately, before shaking his head in a sad manner. "But Stefan.... Stefan had other plans."

Hearing a ruffling in the leaves behind him, Y/N turns around and sees the past Stefan Salvatore, presumably a Vampire now, guiding a hypnotized woman along with him.... a woman he most likely compelled.

Y/N squints as he watches him bring it towards the past Damon who's sitting on the grass in despair, watching the river until he hears Stefan coming up to him with the woman, causing him to blink in confusion. "What are you doing? Who is that?"

"I brought her for you." Stefan answers with what looks like a proud smirk on his face, making his intentions clear as to what he wants his brother to do with her. "She's a gift." He tells Damon before glancing at the woman. "Have a seat, please." He orders the woman who does so without hesitation.

Damon glances between them, looking at his brother as if he's committed a horrible crime. "What have you done, Stefan?"

"Damon, I've been to see father. He came at me." Stefan confesses to Damon, his tone indicating that he had no choice but to kill him in self-defense. "I didn't know my own strength.... there was blood everywhere.... he was dying, and the blood was too strong..... I needed to have it... I had to have it."

"You fed?"

"Yes, and it's incredible." Stefan admits to him with no shame in his voice, his face gleeful as if he just bought his favorite flavor of cotton candy at a circus. "My body is exploding with power, Damon."

"No..."

"I can hear things from far away, I can see through the darkness, I can move like it's magic." Stefan boasts his new feats to Damon, kneeling in front of him. "And the guilt, the pain, Damon, I can turn it off like a switch..." He snaps his finger, looking at his brother with an encouraging expression. "Katherine was right, it's a whole other word out there, Damon."

"Katherine is dead, Stefan." Damon spits out as he weakly stands up, trying to stagger away from the pulsating blood that's screaming at him. "There's no world without her..."

"No!" Stefan grabs Damon away, holding him by his face as he looks him beggingly in the eyes not to choose the suicide option. "You can turn that off too! You don't have to feel that pain anymore."

"I don't want it."

"You're weak. You'll be dead soon, you need this!" Stefan insists as he shakes Damon, looking at him with emotional eyes. "You'll die."

"No, I can't...." Damon shakes his head as he struggles, which only proves futile due to the obvious difference in strength. Stefan grabs the woman by the hand and bites her neck, but only for a few seconds. He then presents the now pouring blood to his brother, pleading with him to drink it.

"I won't let you die."

"No, I can't..."

"Don't fight it! We can do this together!"

Damon glances at the blood, the urge proves to be too strong, and eventually.... he bites drinks her entire system.

"And then... two hundred years later.... here we are." The present Damon beside Y/N concludes as he teen turns towards him now. "My original plan was to use the Bennet crystal with the power of the comet to open it... until Emily Bennet stabbed me in the back despite me doing my end of the bargain and protecting her family." He then explains to Y/N with a serious face, surprising for him. "That's why I tried to bite her, I lost hope...... until Logan Fell spilled the tea on the alternate choice. The rest, I'm sure you know."

Y/N stares at him with a slow nod.... before he begin cackling. Damon blinks, as his cackles then turn into laughs.

"I didn't.... think it was that good of a joke."

"Man! Incredible!" Y/N exclaims with open arms as he laughs a little bit longer. "This entire nightmare trip, and all I've really learned from you is excuses." He criticizes the Vampire, causing Damon to blink at him. "For Darren Malloy and Brooke Fenton.... for those two hikers.... For Vicki?" Y/N shakes his head at him, his rage staying despite everything the Vampire's showed him. "You didn't do anything out of love, you did it for your own twisted pleasures!"

"I DID EVERYTHING FOR HER!" Damon yells from the depths of his lungs, glaring at Y/N with red eyes, his true colors. However, the teen clearly still isn't convinced, causing the man to shake his head at him. "But I guess I shouldn't have expected you to understand..."

"Oh, I understand..." Y/N tells Damon with a slow nod, matching his glare. "I understand that you are a sick, twisted piece of filth.... and you deserve to die." He seethes at him. "True, I won't be able to do it, but when you cross someone that proves to be stronger and kills you, you'll see that everything you did was for nothing."

He then takes another step so he can get into Damon's face. "Now... wake me, the fuck, up."

Damon eyes turn into daggers as they glare at him, his veins turn black, his eyes become black and red...

"Tonight.... during Douche's party..... you better be at the church."

And he sicks his fangs onto him....

...

...........

..................

...................

But when Y/N wakes up, none of those wounds are on him.

He stands up and takes a look at his surroundings, seeing that Damon is nowhere to be found as well. Of course he didn't actually kill him, he knows that he's the only one that can get him into the tomb.

And whatever he tried to achieve by getting into his head, it failed. His hatred against him has now only grown stronger.

This thought process is broken when he hears his phone ringing...

And sees that it's from Elena.

Mystic Falls: Sheila Bennet's Residence

After having that dream created by Damon and the call from Elena, Y/N makes his way straight towards the home belonging to Bonnie's grandmother, or 'grams' as she's usually called, Sheila Bennet. Due to his drinking and feeling sorry for himself, he completely missed Elena and Bonnie getting kidnapped by the mysterious Vampire.

But now they're back, and to make up for his absence in the matter, Y/N shows up with a bag carrying the grimoire they will probably bring up.

"How did you know where we were?" Y/N hears Bonnie asking most likely her grams as he steps through the front door, looking over at the living room where the conversation's occurring.

"Many things can fuel a witch's power. Worry, anger." Sheila explains to Bonnie, some witch lore that Y/N keeps in mind as he listens in, it sounds ironically similar to his situation with his... thing inside of him. "After Stefan told me that they had taken you, I had a lot of both. Simple locater spell was easy after that."

"I'm sorry... about all of this." Bonnie earnestly apologizes to her grams with guilt in her eyes, knowing that she probably had her family and friends that are aware shaken when the situation presented itself. However, Sheila smirks in response.

"Not as sorry as they're gonna be."

"You're damn right." Y/N agreeingly comments as he steps inside, hoisting the bag over his shoulder that holds the massive book. "Elena called me." He explains to them, knowing the first question that's popped into their minds.

At that moment, Elena and Stefan walk in as well. "So, what do we do now?" The girlfriend asks the others, who share a look as they consider their next move.

"Well, for now, you need to stay here." Stefan states as he glances at all three of the girls, while acknowledging Y/N's presence as he sits against the window.

"A prisoner, in my own home?" Sheila questions Stefan's plan with a disapproving look. "I don't think so."

"I can't protect you if you leave the house."

"We'll protect ourselves." Sheila retorts, causing Stefan to roll his eyes. There's now another moment of silence as everyone waits for a gameplan, until someone finally speaks their mind on the matter.

"We need to let him have Katherine back." Elena declares, causing everyone to look at her with mixed reactions. "He's not gonna stop until he gets her. If we help him, maybe that ends it."

"No!" Bonnie is obviously the one to voice her objection to such a servant-like plan. "He doesn't deserve to get what he wants." She declares, she glances at the guy she knows agrees with him on this, though he's keeping himself silent instead. "Y/N?"

Y/N blinks as he sucks himself out of his mental space, shifting in his seat as he hesitates a bit before speaking. "Believe me, I want him to be crying like a little baby, but.... at this point, I just want him gone, dead or alive." He reluctantly gives his 'opinion', knowing that's a lie, since Stefan and Elena will never agree to his view.

"Witches being pulled down by Vampire problems As much as we tried to do to stay out of it."..." Sheila comments disappointed, shaking her head. Two hundred years, and that still hasn't changed. "I'll open the tomb." She then tells Stefan, revealing her reluctant acceptance to the plan. "You get your brother's girl and destroy the rest with fire. Then this will be all over."

"My family's rich, I can get a few gasoline canisters...." Y/N chimes in with an offer, knowing that he'll definitely be doing that part. "Make sure the place stays burning."

"I got a few make-shift arsonist tools that should work" Stefan adds with a nod. "We just still have to get Damon to agree."

"He already agreed once."

"Yeah, and then we double-crossed him, along with Y/N who swapped it out with a fake, so now he's angry." Stefan reminds Elena, causing everyone to glance at the guilty defendant. "Even if he still has it, how can we know that Damon won't just kill us and take it?"

"He's hurt, there's a difference." Elena corrects him, considering something for a moment before looking at the others with a determined expression. "I think I know what I have to do."

Everyone shares a look, guess that's the only thing left to deal with.

Y/N knows Damon will come, though, he's unwilling dependent on them.

"Y/N, wait." Stefan calls out his name the second Y/N attempts to leave the room, there's now a tension in the air as he walks over to him. "We need to talk." The Vampire tells him with a blank expression, it's now time to address past events.

"Fine..." Y/N accepts, nodding at Bonnie and Sheila before he and Stefan head towards and step into the bedroom for some privacy.

The second the door closes, the man turn around to address each other. "So... you want me to explain why I purposefully set you two up to get on Damon's bad side?" Y/N assumes with a shrug, knowing it was a shitty thing to do, but felt like he had no choice.

"No..." Stefan shakes his head, knowing why he did it. He knows what Y/N's feeling, and knows that something like that would feel petty for the rage he has inside. "No, what I want is to warn you. This pain... this.... want to have the upper hand, it's not healthy."

"You think I don't know that? You think I don't consider the fact that I got Candor killed?!" Y/N questions with a glare in his eyes. "Look, just spare the whole 'revenge is bad' pitch, alright? It's cliche enough as it is."

"Then help me understand, Y/N, help me understand what you're going through." Stefan pleads with the guy, his intents genuine as he's been wishing he could reach out to him numerous times before. Despite this, Y/N chuckles at him as if he heard a joke.

"You know, Candor's been telling me about lifting sealing spells." Y/N begins as he ambles around the room, looking around the room, but really nothing as he's more focused on his mind and words. "And... I read the grimoire, and it confirmed something I hoped I would gain by taking it...." He grows a smile. "The spell can only be lifted for a short amount of time, meaning.... Damon will be stuck there. And that also means that he won't be able to sonic-sprint his way out at the sign of danger...." He snaps back towards Stefan. "The perfect trap."

"Damon's not stupid, Y/N." Stefan criticizes his plan with a shake of his head. "He knows we'll try it, and he'll prepare for that."

"Oh, I know, which is why I don't plan to trap him." Y/N corrects before giving Stefan a hinting look, allowing him to blink until he widens his eyes the second he puts all of the pieces together.

"You're gonna try and kill him?"

"What else is there to do, Stefan?" Y/N confirms his guess, though looks at him as if he's stupid for not thinking it earlier. "People are dead, because of him, people I knew!" He points to himself. "It's time somebody teaches him the consequences of his actions."

"But it's him we're talking about." Stefan reminds him, wanting everything except the kid getting himself killed. "Look, I agree, he's taken Lexi and Zack away from me too, I told you before that I have tried, okay? I have tried to stop him, numerous times. But Damon isn't just your average Vampire. He feeds double than what he usually needs, he gets pleasure out of people's pain, he has more human blood in him than Vicki or any of the ones we've come across." He stresses out the stakes, trying to make them clear to Y/N. "And that makes him stronger than even me. If you try to stop Damon, you will die."

"Then I'll die." Y/N easily replies, fully ready to accept that outcome. "But at least I'll die knowing I tried to do the right thing, and not take some Batman approach to stop a ruthless serial killer."

"Then what happens next? Jeremy? Matt? Bonnie? You think they'll want that to happen to you?" Stefan questions him, knowing that the kid's still got so much to live for. "Y/N, listen-"

"NO! You listen!" Y/N finally snaps as he points at him, tired of this constant back and forth they have going on. "The second my father died, everyone forgot about him! And you, Stefan! Have made them forget EVERYTHING that Damon's done with that fucking mind trick!" He yells in his face. "I have been forced to go through this pain alone because of YOU! You, and that piece of shit you call a brother! Jeremy, Matt.... NONE of them can understand! And time and time again, I'm forced to hear their words YOU put into their mouths!" When he's finally, Y/N takes a few deep breaths. "But at least with this.... I can rest, knowing that he'll be dead."

"Y/N..." Stefan looks broken, the guilt in his eyes evident as he struggles with the fact that he's losing him. "It won't help. But we can, we know what happened, and we can help you." He looks deep into his eyes and asks a difficult question. "What would Bonnie want for you?"

Not bad, that was a pretty good hit to the chest, Y/N exhales hard through this nose, still angry though.

"Stefan, let me make this very clear..." Y/N states with a harden-look as he steps right in the Vampire's face. "If you get in my way.... there's a slight possibility that you will join him."

And with that, he leaves, not wanting to waste his time with Stefan's preaching. The Vampire stands there, worried that his efforts to make it up to Elena have distracted him from the L/N's pain.

Could he have helped him?

Or is this just another harsh lesson that he can't be there for everyone?

Mystic Falls: L/N Manor

The plan's now been made clear for everyone except the people who aren't Stefan. But Y/N knows the Bennets, he knows that they'll easily be on his side the second they catch on. Their family's already been attacked by Damon Salvatore, and the last thing everyone wants is for him to get his way. Well... except for Elena, who's honestly a little too empathetic for this world.

He tried calling Anna before the event, but he was left on voice message, probably because she and her mom are too busy packing up. "Hey, uh... it's me, I can't really come up with similar mediocre titles, but, uh.... if you wanna talk at the Grill before you go, I think I'll probably be there by...... midnight, or something..." He leaves for her before pocketing his phone.

In the shed of his massive property, yes, they have a shed as well, he glances around and sees everything he prepared for this life or death moment. All that's left is to put certain things together and it'll all be complete.

He hears some footsteps behind him, but notices how quiet and calm they are, easing his fight for flight response as he instead just keeps staring at the ground while his mentor approaches. "I've been reading about what you told me...." Alaric comments as he stands next to him. "Do you know what you are?"

Y/N nods at this. "A Wendigo." He answers, finally saying it for the first time as well as it being the first time it's been said in the present. "At least.... my 'spirit' or whatever, is."

"I read your journal as well, and.... it seems what your old friend may have been trying to warn you about is true." Alaric then also mentions as he circles around until he's facing him, at least, so Y/N can see him in the corner of his eye. "Your spirit.... it was drawn out by the magic of the comet. But... in terms of Emily's sealing spell, she somehow managed find a way to block it out. In other words, the second you step inside and that seal goes back up, it won't be able to save you from death like it has previously." He explains to him, before summarizing it up in a very blunt way. "You'll be teenaged boy going up against a monster running on human blood."

It makes sense, his ancestor probably painted himself as an uncontrollable threat to Emily, prompting her to find anti-Wendigo edges in her magic. It's possible she predicted that he would find out about the tomb and return to kill everyone inside, thus opening it up in the process.

"I wouldn't have wanted it to help me, anyway...." Y/N responds as he once again scans the entire shed. "That's why I plan to go prepared." He states, prompting Alaric to look around as well with a small hum. He so wishes that he could go with him, but with Damon now knowing what he is, it'll only make their plan obvious if he shows up.

"Even so, he won't fight fair." Alaric reminds Y/N with a serious look on his face, warning the kid of every possible angle of this fight. "And because of that.... neither should you."

Y/N finally looks up at him, smiling.

"I wouldn't have it any other way." He remarks, prompting Alaric to match his expression with a proud smile of his own. He drops a bag on the ground, and Y/N kneels down to grab the make-shift rifle his teacher carries inside of it.

"Good luck, kid.... you'll need it."

Y/N, stilling smiling, nods before he goes to spend the time he has left preparing....

(Cue the Montage!)

Y/N now stands in his mansion's basement, where he begins working on every single thing he has on his list.

He twirls his hunting knife around before using it to create at least three stakes, the maximum that he can keep hidden on his person....

Before this, he also worked out frequently as well...

He did his pull ups to work on his spine...

He sets down the bag of vervain grinds up several herbs.....

He did bench presses......

He opens up the smoke grenades and adds a good enough amount of vervain into each one, wanting them to be wafted in every breath of the smoke. Once done, he sets each one on the table...

He writes down his notes of everything he's learned from Damon. He way he fights, his mannerisms, everything, even if it seems pointless....

He punches the punching bag to work on his striking strength.....

He reloads the clips of his father's gun, having at least three filled up with wooden bullets....

He sets a belt onto the table, and straps it around his waist.....

He grabs a syringe he purchased and fills up water mixed with vervain in it...

He brings a sledgehammer and slams it down on the tire....

He attaches his stakes and smoked grenades onto their respective replaces on the belt....

He does some target practice on a dummy with practical bullets....

He gets himself a rope that could operate as a whip, and attaches it to his belt as well....

He grabs a leather/camo jacket and puts it on, which also hides the belt under it....

He grabs the air rifle, which has been modified a little bit of Alaric's permission, before walking out the door. He stares up into the full moon, which almost seems to be looking back down at him, as if having been waiting in anticipation for what's going to happen tonight.

Tonight, Damon..... tonight.

Old Mystic Falls: Tonight

Y/N drives his motorcycle over to where the massive big fire from Duke's party helps serve as its own GPS. He makes sure to park further away though, as to not give himself away due to be one of the rare few to who drives such a thing in this town, and so he can easily slip into the church unnoticed.

Approaching the old church, he sees Bonnie and Shelia, as well as Stefan a few seconds after, having just created a dirt staircase that should prevent the situation Bonnie got herself in the last time they were here. "Cleared the debris way, set the torches like you asked, we can get down now."

"I'm here!" Y/N announces himself to everyone as he holds up his gasoline tanks like he promised, along with a little tool which he sets down on ground carefully along with them. "We should be able to burn 'em with this."

"What is that?" Bonnie queries out-loud, clearly not expecting a literal flamethrower.

"Gift from my mentor." Y/N simply responds, not wanting to be any more specific than that. "Though, I brought a lighter too, in case it doesn't work." He adds as he briefly ups up the object before putting it back in his pocket.

"Y/N...." Stefan then turns to him, an obviously anxious expression on his face. "This is going to be-"

"We're not having this talk again, Stefan." Y/N quickly cuts him off with a glare, causing the two witches to glance between them with a worried look. Eventually, though, they're back to the main task when they all hear a whistle, and see Damon walking towards them with Elena right behind him.

"Brother..." Damon greets mockingly, before glancing at the Bennets. "Witches...." And then Y/N. "Wanna-be...."

"Freak..." Y/N coldly responds.

"You okay?" Stefan checks on a clearly nervous Elena, who just sighs in response.

"I just wanna get this over with..." She tells him, which is mutually shared by everyone around her, including Damon. "Are we ready?"

"I guess so..." Bonnie confirms with a reluctant nod, causing Y/N to share a empathetic look with her. She clearly does not want to go through with this for something like Damon.

And honestly, who would?

With everything set up, everyone heads down where all of the nonwitches stand by as Sheila directs the operation of the sealing spell. "Air..." She lights up each torch with her own lighter, listing off elements as she does. "Earth.... Fire....."

"Water." Bonnie concludes as she gives grams a bottle of it.

"My grandmother used to tell me stories of the old days..." Y/N subconsciously starts whispering until Stefan elbows his side. "Sorry, force of habit."

"That's it? Just water from the tap?" Elena questions with a raised brow, prompting Sheila to give her a curious look.

"As opposed to what?"

"I just figured, maybe, you'd have to be blessed, or.... mystical, or something..." Elena admits with a small shrug, to which Sheila gives her an amused look before she and her granddaughter continue their process. During which, Stefan and Y/N notice Damon pulling out a blood bag from his person.

"What's that?"

"It's for Katherine." Damon shamelessly explains, giving them a look as if wondering what else they though he was going to bring. An extra life mushroom? "Gotta have something to get her going. Unless you girl's offering up a vein to tap."

A few seconds later, Bonnie turns to the others.

"We're ready."

This means everyone then cuts the banter as all eyes fall on Y/N. "Shit...." The teen mutters as he briefly forgot about this part, but he came prepared for it as well. He steps over to the door, before slowly pulling out a switchblade from his inventory. Shaking a bit, he eventually presses the button and the blade pops out.

Slowly bringing it to his hand, he cuts his palm open with a wince, a tear falling down his eye, before quickly rubbing it against the symbol on the door. Before their eyes, they watch the blood move on its own until it fills up the entire carved symbol and glows. The password is now put in.

Now everyone watches as Sheila and Bonnie stand up, holding hands before chanting in Latin, which the noobs easily pick up on as them slowly lifting the sealing spell. Their energy combined will no doubt make it easier, as someone with Emily's power no doubt made such a spell costly to maintain on one's own self.

Well, Elena says that this one might not be Latin, but.... Y/N will probably keep mentally describing it as that.

At one point, the flames spark up a little bit before the door begins opening up on it's own, prompting Bonnie and Sheila to stop. "It worked..." The former points out the obvious while staring in awe, along with Elena and Y/N.

"Of course it worked." Sheila adds with a prideful tone, while Damon turns towards his brother.

"Don't you have some fires to build?" Damon mentions to Stefan and Y/N, who then take that as their cue to put the gasoline tanks to good use.

"We're gonna go get the gasoline." Stefan tells Elean, knowing that she wouldn't want him in particular to be away from her in a place like this. "We'll be right back." He promises before he, and reluctantly Y/N, walk away through the tunnel.

Damon's about to walk into the tomb, however, he glances at the eyeing Bennets with a pointed look, before deciding to take some extra measures. He extends a hand towards Elena. "You ready?"

"What?" Elena utters.

"You think I'm gonna go in there by myself so you can seal me in?" Damon questions Sheila instead of responding to Elena, pulling the girl closer to him since his strength keeps a firm hold on her.

"Don't take her in." Sheila threatens with a nasty glare, probably thinking that she should've expected such a move from the cowardly Damon. "I'll bring the walls down!"

"You'll bring the walls down if I don't. You think I trust you?"

"As much as I trust you..."

"Enough! Both of you." Elena stops the argument, knowing that it's no use trying to stop the Vampire from getting what he wants. "Look, he needs leverage. He needs to know that you're not gonna shut the door when he gets inside. I get it." She hesitantly turns to Damon with a reassuring look. "I'll go."

"May I?" Damon playfully asks as he takes one of the torches without waiting for a response, just smiling at Sheila and Bonnie's glares as he and Elena step into the tomb, eventually fading into the darkness inside.

And right after, Y/N suddenly re-appears from the other side with the compressed air rifle, having never actually followed Stefan in the first place. His expression hardened as he steps back into the whole and sees the door now open.

"Y/N, what are you doing?" Bonnie nervously asks him as the teen begins marching towards the now opened stone door. "Y/N!"

Y/N ignores her as he eventually stomps in and disappears into the darkness as well, leaving the witches concerned for his well-being, and bewildered by his actions.

He'll leave it up to them to put the pieces together.

He goes into the tunnels of the tomb, which are not as narrow as he was expecting. That's good, it means he has plenty of room to walk around in. after turning on the flashlight strapped onto his head, he begins to patrol the entire area, going from corner to corner where he eventually his foot accidently kicks something.

He glances down curiously where he eventually realizes that he's staring down at the mummified body of one of the old Vampires. Although they are non-moving, their actually still living corpses, just the word now being more literal now.

This is proven when the corpse's eyes sudden shoot open, crimson red as they stare into his soul.

He winces as he stares back at it, taking a few steps back until his back hits something else fleshy. He swiftly turns around and sees that he bumped into another one, that begins to fall down on him like a ghoul lunging at prey. "Shit!" Y/N exclaims as he quickly side-steps out of the way before the Vampire's weight collapses onto him.

What follows is a bunch of whispers in his ear. He can't make out any dialogue, but they're in every cranny of his ear drums. He spins around, wondering if he actually underestimated how haunted this tomb is.  He then lets out a small exhale, shaking his head. "Creepy place..."

Finally, his sight catches genuine fire on one of the corners, prompting him to quickly turn his flashlight off and begin following it before he loses his trail. Thankfully, the torch stops moving and soon, grunting and shouts take it's place as an obvious scent for Y/N to smell.

Eventually, Y/N finally spots Damon once again, checking bodies and getting more and more angry each time he sees that the face bares no resemblance to Katherine. "Where is she? Where is she?!" He keeps checking everyone one he can find, but none of the females match her description he knows from what. It gets to the point he snaps and throws his blood bag into the wall. "WHERE IS SHE?!"

https://youtu.be/w5fSuEdhU-0

*BANG!*

*BANG!*

*BANG!*

Those three gunshots send Damon to the ground, right before Y/N steps out of the shadows and reveals himself, pointing his gun down at him as he reveals some satisfying words to the Vampire.

"She's not here." Y/N drops the reveal to Damon, as the Vampire gets himself back on his butt, his back against the wall. "She escaped a very, very long time ago." He tells him, getting a sick pleasure in seeing as his enemy soaks in every single word.

"You.... You knew?"

"How do you think I know her name?" Y/N questions Damon with a look, smirking as he holsters his gun to replace the item in his dominant hand with a stake. "In fact, who do you think wants you dead in the first place?" He adds with a chuckle, the look of the betrayal evident on the Salvatore's face as the 'wanna-be' raises his stake and points it at his chest. "End of the line, Damon."

However, Damon's head shoots back up, his strength return in place of rage as he suddenly shoots up and grabs his wrist with super-speed before he then tosses the human away from him. Y/N lands a few feet away with a thud.

"They never told you, did they?" Damon then guesses with a blank expression that masks his anger inside. "They never mentioned who's been playing you the entire-"

He's cut off when Y/N swiftly pulls out a tiny speaker that plays a deafening feedback into the Vampire's ears, though safe for a human like the teen. Damon groans loudly until he mentally pushes the pain away and speeds over and back to grab and crush the device into pieces with his grip.

"You're just.... a teenager." Damon seethes as he marches over to be in his face. "How many times do I have to explain it for you to understand?"

"I understand!" Y/N roars in his face before Damon easily pushes him another few feat with simply his palm, once again sending him onto the ground with a nasty slide. The teen mutters something as he gets himself back up, glaring at his opponent with the same amount of fury the monster carries.

He pulls out his pistol and begins shooting at the Vampire. But Damon easily zig-zags past each one at vampiristic-speed, eventually grabbing it when he gets close enough and tosses it against the rocky wall where it also smashes into uselessness.

Then, still having it one, Damon dashes from left to right while landing a punch to Y/N's body every time he passes him. Until, eventually, he grabs him by the collar of his jacket and throws him down a random pathway, marking the third time he's forced to slide across the hard ground.

He then speeds over and grabs him again, slamming him into multiple Vampire mummies, knowing that they're still alive and rough enough to hurt Y/N with each impact. It happens about five times until he lets him hit the ground once again, now incredibly bruised.

"Oh, boo-hoo, so what? Katherine dumped me." Damon's voice echoes across the tomb, arms spread wide as if trying to act like he's already found a new purpose in life. "But hey, at least I still GET TO HURT YOU!"

Y/N, popping some bones, still manages to get up after that beating, and lifts the rifle out from over his shoulder and removes the strap holding it to him. Damon watches un-impressed as the boy points it at the Vampire, and without hesitation, pulls the trigger that sends the stake inside to shoot towards the Vampire who easily catches it with his hand, just like he did in the classroom.

However, turns out that wasn't a stake, as the smoke grenade quickly goes off in his right after the pin falls to the ground. Damon then accidently breathes in a crap ton of vervain, causing him to cough roughly, his voice rasp as he gasps before falling to his knees. Y/N, watching his opponent's arrogance be his undoing, tosses the rifle aside as he steps towards him.

"Breath it in.... that's a special trick only the Humans who study on themselves a lot know." Y/N taunts as he circles around Damon, who's lungs struggle with the vervain that's now wafting in it. The Vampire manages to look up and glare at the teen, and the sight makes the L/N chuckle with a grin on his face. "You act strong...."

Damon, getting an inch of his strength back, roars as he shoots up and throws a punch towards Y/N, only for him to easily block it.

"Will's stronger."

Damon's looks at his now weak arms with a shocked expression, as well as Y/N's who now looks ready to kill. However, the Vampire refuses defeat, and tries to throw one with his other hand, only for that to be blocked too. He then attempts to use the window the teen accidently created with an uppercut, but his knuckle is grabbed with both hands before the Salvatore receives a headbutt that actually makes him stagger back.

Y/N then follows him with more punches to the head, knocking every inch of sweat he can squeeze out of the now weak Vampire. That vervain's going to be in him for a long enough time, now it's his turn to have fun.

However, that fun eventually ends when Damon spots a loose rock in the wall, and grabs it fast enough to smash it against Y/N's skull. It's a weak hit, but the impact still makes the teen grab his had in pain, allowing Damon to counter with punch combos of his own.

Y/N, eventually getting a moment to think, pulls out his second stake and begins swinging it at the Damon for a stab. However, the Vampire manages to dodge all attempts thanks to desperately wanting to keep his life, and grabs during the last one, grabs Y/N's wrist with both hands before slamming them against a pointy rock in the wall.

The pain is enough for the teen to eventually let it go with a pained scream. Damon then continues the boxing match, the both of them blocking or dodging each other's punches until The Vampire lands one on Y/N's stomach, giving him the opportunity to strike his forehead with his knee.

This forces Y/N to land on his front with a rough thud.

Despite his now now-as-strong arms, he's still able to grab Y/N's torso, and muster enough to throw his opponent against a row of bodies with a blood-thirsty roar. The teen's body smacks against them like dominoes, though it sucks the strength out of the Vampire, who collapses onto his knees once again.

Y/N, gritting his teeth as the minor injuries he was feeling earlier now become a slight salt in his wounds, still relies on his revenge to push it away as he manages to get himself on his side to see Damon also doing his best to get on his own two feet.

Glancing around, he sees that he landed right next to the rifle, guess he needed a little bit of luck to win the battle too. As Damon struggles on his end, Y/N urgently takes the last stake he has out of his belt and inserts it into muzzle of the rifle. When it makes a click as it slides inside, he hunter knows that he's ready for action.

On the other side, Damon has now got himself re-charged and he slowly begins looking up at Y/N with that sanguine expression still in his eyes. He better not miss this shot, or else he's dead. With the teen now looking weak, the Vampire eventually lets out another roar as the veins around his eyes turn black and his pupils turn red before he charges and jumps at his victim....

Right before Y/N shoots at him.....

And it lands on his chest.

However, his fist also lands on Y/N's face, causing him to yell as he feels scratches along one side of his face. Meanwhile, Damon lands on the ground with a rough thud as well as accidently making his stake impale itself into his chest further. It misses his lungs by a few inches, but the pain Noah probably felt back when he was being tortured is now doubled in the vervain-ed Vampire.

Y/N, while definitely has his faced ruined, doesn't really giving a fuck as he stands himself up. Looking around until he finds a rock that's close to the size of a gravestone. Wanting to kick his opponent while he's down one last time. He walks over and grabs it, strong enough to lift it up, come back, and bring it down right on Damon's back, emitting a hard crash as the pieces all blast apart.

Before Damon can get up, he's then also injected with the syringe that goes into his veins, which then prevents the Vampire from getting any other kind of strength back, and in fact, makes his condition worse. His entire body shuts down, and his moans out as if needing a nap when in reality, he's just struggling against the herbs.

Y/N then picks up the bloodied stake before holstering it for now. He then grabs his rope and begins wrapping it around the Vampire tightly, making sure he can't break himself free until the vervain is out of his system, which by the time he's done with him, won't happen.

He drags his downed opponent into another room of the tomb, which has no mummies to witness the final act of their brawl. No... it's just them now.

"You know, I bet when Stefan turned you.... you thought you were gonna be different." Y/N criticizes Damon, his voice a little breathless as he pulls a practically dead-weight body through the tomb. "That unlike him..... you were gonna be something better....." He finally stops when they reach the center of the room, but that doesn't mean the rope play is over. "That you're nothing like him."

His hands grip the edge of the right tightly, before Y/N finds the strength to then swing Damon into the stone walls, who slams against them with a loud thud, and dust that falls through the ceiling. "You raped Caroline and made her forget...."

Another swing.

"You killed and turned Vicki...."

And another....

"You compelled Jeremy to make him forget..."

And another....

"You killed Candor..."

And another...

"You killed my dad..!"

And then one last time....

Damon falls onto the ground again, his face completely red and purple with bruises, his regeneration not coming to life. He's completely helpless as Y/N puts his foot on his chest and pulls out the bloodied stake. "And now I kill you..."

He raises his weapon up...

"Anna..."

Y/N freezes, his eyes dart back down to Damon as he realizes what he just said. "How.... how do you know her?" He questions him, shocked, his foot now pressing against the Vampire's chest harder. "How do you know that name?!"

Despite the pressure on his lungs, Damon manages to get it out.

"Vampire....."

Y/N blinks, the way Damon looks into his ways makes him realize that it's not just a fib to save his life.

Or maybe it is....

"So.... did she turn you too, hmm? Are you vampire as well?" He then begins interrogating him. "That'd explain why the wooden bullets only hurt you, not killed you."

[][][][][][][][][][][][][][]

"Is that her?" Matt then suddenly asks, and Y/N looks up, seeing him looking off to the side. So he follows his stare and sees Jeremy at the pool table, talking with Anna. "The girl Tyler keeps teasing you about?"

"Oh, yeah...... That's her." Y/N confirms with a small nod, watching as the two have what feels like a weird conversation. Seeing her talk with Jeremy for some reason makes him uncomfortable....

"Check the journal! Check the journal... Johnathan's journal..... Johnathon Gilbert's journal." The Vampire finally fesses up, giving them the clue to beat the Vampire at their own game.

Except.... the clues have been in front of him the whole time.

"You were.... being used..." Damon manages to get out, which was what he was trying to say before being deafened. The others.... the other knew? They knew Anna was a Vampire? And they didn't tell him?

He was tricked again....

By another Vampire.

"We can.... still stop her...." Damon pleads to Y/N as he can see the look of betrayal evident in his face, knowing far too well how it feels to get stabbed in the back by the girl you like or love. "I know.... where she.... lives..." He tells him, giving the hunter a new objective. "But... you.... have to-"

"RAAAAAAAAAAAAAW!"

Cutting him off, Y/N drives the stake right into his heart, taking away all of the sound as it's now replaced with silence. He's breathing heavily as the yelling took everything in his throat. His heart beating..... he killed Vampire's before, but.... when he sees Damon's skin slowly turning grey, it feels much better than normal.

Damon Salvatore is dead.... for good.

Wiping the sweat off his face, at least attempting to, Y/N grabs the rifle, slings it over his shoulder, takes one last look at the body under him, and makes his leave. He's done here.

When he makes his way back and steps through the door, alone, he feels everyone's eyes fall on him. Bonnie, Elena, Stefan, even the tired Sheila, all except for the passed-out Jeremy who's now there for some reason.... they see the bruises and cuts on his face, and they all slowly put two and two together.

"Y/N...." Stefan quietly says his name out-loud, a different tone that how he previously said it. This one is much more dark. "What have you done?"

Y/N stares back with a even more darkened expression. He doesn't answer, though. Instead, he just walks past all of them, allowing their emotions to process themselves as he has his own to deal with.

He has to make a visit.

Motel:

An hour or two later, Annabelle, the Vampire from the Civil War, brings her mother, Pearl who she retrieved from the tomb into her motel room. She's weak, having gotten only a little bit of blood, but she has plenty in the fridge, so everything should be all right. She'll get her some modern clothes later in the morning.

However, when she turns on the lights, they both find Y/N L/N standing in the center of the room with the most void expression a man can have. They both freeze as he begins stepping over to them.

"Y/N..."

Anna's mouth quickly shuts him when she's grabbed by the throat and slammed against the wall, forcing her eyes to stare deep into Y/N's face as they glow brighter than ever before. "No!" Peral exclaims, until the guy slashes her face with vervain herbs, forcing her away.

"You lied to me! About everything!" Y/N yells into Anna's face as he slams her head against the wall a second time, not caring how loud of a noise it makes.

"Y/N, wai-"

"I was only your key! You got close to me, lured me into a damn garage, and was nice to me, just so you could convince me to open the tomb if I refused Damon! That was it!" He roars as he grips Anna's throat tighter, the spirit inside him giving him the strength to do so. Peral tries to stop him again, only to get slashed again. "It was all nothing to you! Just a plan fucking B!"

"N-No!" Anna quickly denies, shaking her head, but Y/N obviously as a hard time believing her begging tone of voice. "I-It wasn't I swear to God! It was only supposed to be a friends thing! I didn't mean for it to-"

"LIAR!" Y/N yells, her voice modulating somehow as he slams her against the wall again. "Why do you get a happy ending?!" He loudly questions her, his eyes now wet as his emotions re-surface. "Why does your parent get to be alive, and mine doesn't?!"

"I-I...." Anna stutters, her voice struggling due to having so much pressure on it. She glances down at his wrist to see another wooden stake sliding out of his sleeve, causing her eyes to widen. "No, no, no, please...." She's now at the point of begging, shaking her head at him. "She's all I got left... please."

Y/N glance between the mother and daughter, the former also giving him a pleading look. His brain and heart are going in separate directions, his stake is in his hand... he can put an end to it right here.

He roars as he swings the stake, Anna abruptly closes her eyes....

Until nothing happens.

Slowing opening them, she sees that the Y/N has disappeared, and the stake is implanted into the wall. Anna is literally shaking in her boots as she shares a look with her mother, realizing they are still alive.

But that doesn't stop them from hearing the loud, animalistic screech outside.

New Orleans: Hours Later

At a much larger, more expensive city. A man who's still young enough to be in collage sits on the balcony of the hotel he's living in. He's a got few roommates to help prevent things from being costly. But.... life here is good.

At least, it was.

The man hears a ringing from his phone which currently rests on the armrest of the chair right next to him, and he grabs it and calmly answers. "Hello?"

"Hi there, this is Elizbeth Forbes, Sheriff of Mystic Falls? Am I speaking to James Bennet."

The man blinks.

"Yeah...?"

"We have.... unfortunate news about your grandmother, Shelia Bennet, over here in town." The woman informs the man with a deep sigh. "It's best you come over here, right away."

That's all it takes for him to shoot up from his seat.

(A/N) And, there it is, one of my most important Chapters in this story.

No, your eyes are not deceiving you, nor did I make a typo. That's how the fight with Damon Salvatore and Y/N L/N ended. This officially marks the end of the Hunter arc, as the tomb arc now begins next chapter.

I'm gonna leave you guys to get angry with me in the comments and in my discord, but.... now you all have seen my reason for taking an OC from dreammaster6. It was all part of my diabolical plan.

How the now non-canon story continues from here will be seen as we move forward.

Plz vote and comment, any counts as feedback, and I'll see you in the next one.... hopefully.
