season four of family trauma
After Dabi called the underground hero out on his food choices the other two villains next to him couldn't help but double over with laughter.
Dabi stared at them incredulously. "You're going to look at me and you're going to tell me that I'm wrong? Am I wrong?"
"She wore a crown and she came down in a bubble dawg. Grow up bro. Grow up." Izuku and Toga yelled at the same time, all three friends momentarily forgetting the heroes and detective in the room with them.
"Remember when that was the only way we would communicate?"
Dabi sighed fondly. "Ah, yeah. Used to drive Shiggy nuts."
"Everything drives Shiggy Azalea nuts, though." Izuku shrugged, reaching into the box of cereal only to find crumbs. Turning to glare at the culprit, he threw the box at Dabi's head. "I hate it when you do that! Asshole."
The flame user shrugged. "You know what they say...you are what you - "
"Ahem." Aizawa drew the trio's attention back to him, much to their dismay.
"Right. I forgot we were in the middle of season four of Family Trauma; Daddy Issues Edition starring Rabid and Dabi." Toga expertly dodged the pair of hands that shot out to punch her, giggling as she winked at her friends from the other couch, having retreated there to escape the blows.
"Fuck you, Himiko." Dabi growled.
"No thanks, you're not my type."
"Wait, I understand the Rabid part...but why include Dabi?" Todoroki Shoto asked, looking at the black haired villain adjusting his position on the couch. "Unless...Dabi, are you also All Might's child?"
Izuku burst out laughing, grabbing his stomach and falling off the couch as tears streamed down his face. "Oh...oh my...fuck I can't breathe!"
Dabi kicked Izuku in the ribs, hissing at him. "Shut up!"
"Ouch! Fuck, ha!" Rabid continued to laugh for another moment before he composed himself, lifting himself back onto the couch as he wiped a tear from his eye. He pointed at the heterochromatic teen. "You're my new favorite. Sorry, Kacchan, but that was fucking hilarious."
"Why?" Todoroki furrowed his brow, tilting his head to the side.
The teen smirked at his friend, who was glaring harshly at him. "You'll just have to wait and see."
Aizawa cleared his throat once more, bringing the attention back to him. "Right. Anyways. In light of some recently revealed information - "
"Otherwise known as the true identity of our resident rabbit themed psychopath." Dabi gestured to Izuku, the smaller teen rolling his eyes.
"Fuck you."
"Not my - "
"Oh, please. We both know that's not true." Izuku winked.
"Ha, yeah." Dabi smirked.
Toga groaned, moving back from the other couch to sit down next to Dabi. "Get a room you two."
"She says, as she moves closer."
"She clearly wants a piece of the action."
"I mean, can you blame her? Have you seen my dump truck of an ass?" Izuku sighed dramatically, tossing his legs over the other two's laps. "It truly is a burden being this sexy."
"Enough." Aizawa snapped, pulling a chair over from the table and setting it across from the couch the trio was sitting on. "As I was saying, due to the revelation of Rabid's identity, we have some additional questions to ask you."
"Cool cool cool cool cool, no problem. One question of my own. May I?" Izuku raised his hand like they were in a classroom. Aizawa sighed, gesturing with his hand for the teen to ask his question. "Thanks. Who is the schmoe in the flasher getup? Why haven't the wannabes moved since they arrived? Why is All Blight here? Who do I talk to to get my room redecorated? And for fuck's sake can someone please explain to me why there is a walking bowl of grapes among the wannabes?"
"That was five questions, but I'll allow it." Aizawa pointed at the detective that had also pulled up a chair next to him. "This is detective Tsukauchi Naomasa, he will be helping with the questioning today."
"Nice to meet you." Tsukauchi nodded at the villains.
"Is it though?" Izuku wrinkled his nose at the detective.
"As for my students, I can't answer that." Aizawa sent his class a look and they got the hint, moving from their spots to head to their dorms, all except Bakugou, Todoroki, Ashido, Kirishima, Kaminari, and Sero. Aizawa glared at them but they held their ground, causing the teacher to relent and let them stay. "All Might is here for obvious reasons. You can talk with me to get your rooms redecorated. And as for the bowl of grapes, that would be Mineta, one of my students. Satisfied?"
"For now." Izuku hummed, glancing at his companions. "You two?"
Toga nodded. "Of course."
"I'm just here for the free entertainment." Dabi smirked.
"And here I thought you were here for this sweet piece of a - "
Before Izuku could finish his sentence a piece of cloth wrapped around his head and covered his mouth. He followed the rest of the cloth to find Aizawa holding his capture gear - which was what was wrapped around his head - glaring at the teen. "Stop making those comments and I won't have to shut you up this way."
Dabi leaned over to Izuku. "Damn, I guess Eraser didn't take our advice and let someone go ham on his ass."
Toga burst out laughing, having overheard what the scarred male said. "Y-you two are going to be the death of me!"
"Good."
Aizawa undid the capture gear from Izuku, rubbing his temples. "Alright, we are going to begin the questioning now. Please take it seriously and it will go by quickly."
The trio stayed silent, waiting for one of the adults to begin the questions. They eyed the six students that stayed behind as they found spots on the other couch and the floor in front of it, scowling at them as the students stared blankly back.
Tsukauchi cleared his throat. "Okay, I'll start with getting a timeline for all three of you. Toga, we have the most information on you but there are still some gaps we need you to fill in." Toga nodded, an uninterested expression on her face as she checked for dirt under her nails. "Dabi, we have the least amount of information on you. We know your age and your quirk, but that is it. Can you at least tell us your real name?"
Dabi gave Todoroki a quick glance, barely noticeable before shaking his head. "No. But I will tell you I am presumed dead. Have been for years."
Tsukauchi nodded. "Okay, that helps." He began to write in his notepad. "You're presumed dead, just like Izuku - "
"Oh, shit." Dabi and Toga mumbled at the same time, each of them grabbing hold of one of Izuku's wrists.
The green haired teen, however, did not react in a volatile way. He just narrowed his eyes at the detective. "My name is Rabid. Midoriya Izuku is dead. Has been for three years."
The detective stared at the trio as Dabi and Toga slowly let go of Izuku's wrists. "Okay, just like Rabid was." He glanced down at his notepad before looking back up at the small grouping of villains. "Anything else you'd like to share, Dabi?"
"Not at the moment, no."
Tsukauchi turned to Izuku. "Which brings me to you, Rabid."
"Oh, goody."
Tsukauchi flipped through his notepad for a moment before he began to recite his notes. "According to my intel, you and your mother, Midoriya Inko, went missing five years ago. Three years ago, Inko's body was found in an abandoned lab, along with enough of your blood to pronounce you deceased. Two years ago, the villain Rabid made his first public appearance through a bank robbery." Tsukauchi flipped back to the section of his notepad where he was jotting down new information. "Care to fill in the gaps of our intel?"
Izuku stretched his arms over his head. "Not really, but when do I ever get to do what I want?"
"Mood." Dabi and Toga muttered.
"Anywho, let's start at the beginning, shall we?" Izuku wiggled his brows. "I am the son of Midoriya Inko and, unfortunately, the walking corpse known as All Might. We were a neat little family until I had my first quirk appointment and was diagnosed 'quirkless'. Then, dear old All Might up and left to 'protect' mom and me. Due to being 'quirkless' I got mercilessly bullied throughout my childhood - thanks for that, Kacchan." Izuku sent the explosive blond a look before continuing on with his story. "When I was ten, a group of people broke into our home and took my mom and me. Two years later, mom is dead and they are taking me somewhere else. A year after that, one fateful night, I met these two lovely humans."
"That would be us." Toga giggles, gesturing to herself and Dabi.
"I think they got that, Himiko."
"And our nefarious adventures began." Izuku shrugged, a lopsided smirk forming on his face. "Two years into our escapades, we get caught and are sent here to try and salvage our corrupted souls and minds."
The group sat in silence for a moment, everyone pondering over what the teen had said.
"You added basically no new information." Ashido piped up from her spot on the floor next to Kaminari and Sero.
"Oh, I'm sorry, let me just delve into the most traumatic three years of my life with a bunch of strangers, that will surely go over well." Izuku drawled, scratching at the faded burn marks on his neck.
"Uh, excuse the fuck out of you. We're strangers?" Toga gasped, placing a hand on her chest in mock anguish.
"Not you two. Love you, babes." Izuku blew them both kisses.
"Ew, disgusting." Dabi curled his lip.
"Not what you were saying last n - "
"Rabid." Aizawa warned, his capture gear starting to float around him. The teen rolled his eyes but didn't respond. "I'd like to ask about the burns on both your face and Bakugou's. What happened?"
"Kacchan's quirk." Izuku perked up, giving the blond a devilish grin. "He used his quirk against me."
"After you provoked him." Kirishima clarified.
"Would I do such a thing?" Izuku gasped, covering his mouth.
"Absolutely, you loon." Dabi smiled at his friend.
"Yeah, you're right. I did provoke him into using his quirk against me. But he totally started it!" Izuku whined, pointing an accusing finger at his childhood frenemy.
Aizawa rubbed his temples once more. "I can check the cameras to figure that part out. What I want to know is how Bakugou got his burn? Did he use his quirk on himself?"
Bakugou snorted. "This little shit has a quirk." The three adults all arched a brow. "Yeah, some sort of copying or stealing quirk. He used my quirk against me."
"Is that so?" All Might muttered, looking at his estranged son.
Izuku sneered at him.
All Might looked away, gulping.
"Rabid actually has two quirks!" Toga happily supplied the group, ignoring the glare her green haired friend was sending her way. "Touch and teleportation."
"Oh?"
"Mhm!"
"Himiko, shut it." Izuku hissed, noticing the way everyone else in the room was perking up at the mentions of his quirks.
"Yeah, with touch as long as he has skin to skin contact he can absorb and copy anything from the other person. Quirks, memories, feelings, etc.. He can't hold onto them forever, they eventually fade away from his arsenal after a certain amount of time. We haven't found exactly what his limit for absorption is or how long he holds onto the things he absorbed but we know it is proportional to how long the contact is." Dabi shrugged when Izuku looked at him. "What?"
"Keep talking and I'll use your actual name." Izuku threatened, noting how Tsukauchi was jotting furiously in his book.
"Shutting up now."
"Good choice."
"What about teleportation?" Aizawa asked.
Toga gave Izuku an apologetic look before giving an answer. "As long as Rabid has a rough idea of what the area looks like, he can teleport himself and up to three other people to the area, as long as they are touching him. He doesn't need to know the specifics like the length and width of the room, he just needs to know if there are other people there. No exact coordinates are needed." She paused. "Oh, and it is more effective if he teleports to somewhere he can see."
"Sure, just give away all my secrets." Izuku grumbled, taking his legs off of his friends. "I hate you."
Toga leaned over Dabi to pat Izuku's knee. "Sorry, Rabid, but think of it this way. We give a little, we get to take a little."
Dabi nodded. "That is how the saying goes." He glanced between the three adults and six hero course students, eyes calculating. "So, what do we get to take for sharing?"
"Going by your logic, only Rabid has given so only he gets to take." Todoroki pointed out, eyes lingering on Dabi with a puzzled look in them.
The reforming villain turned his head away from Todoroki's stare, instead deciding to glare at Aizawa. "Fine. I'll give you something because I want something."
Tsukauchi agreed, flipping to the page in his book dedicated to information on Dabi. "Anything would be useful."
"My...my real initials are the same."
"As Dabi...we don't have a last name for you, so what are they the same as?"
"Each other." Dabi jut his chin out, trembling arms crossed tightly over his chest. "All I'm giving you. Now both Rabid and I get something."
"Himiko, are you joining this sharefest?" Izuku mumurmed to the girl, eyes scanning Dabi cautiously.
Toga nodded. "Sure. Unlike you two, I'm an open book." She looked at the three adults expectantly. "You get one question."
"That's not how this works, young lady. You don't get to make the decisions, you're in our custody."
Izuku snorted. "Last time I was in your custody, I got fucking kidnapped during movie night with mom because you were off 'protecting' us by ignoring our existence." He glared at the blond hero for a moment before a malicious grin spread on his face. "How're the ribs doing?" All Might winced. Izuku tutted. "If you're not careful with your secrets, you'll be reuniting with mom sooner than you planned."
"Deku, are you seriously threatening All Might in front of another pro and a police officer?"
"Like I said, Kacchan, a lot changed in the five years I was gone. I died and came back an asshole whereas you became a lil pussy ass bitch."
Bakugou glared at Kaminari when the electric blond snorted. He leaned forward on the couch, eyes shooting daggers at Izuku. "I have a question, Deku." Not waiting for a response, Bakugou continued onwards. "How did you get your quirks? I know for a fact you didn't have them when we were children, so where did they come from?"
"Where did they come from? Where did they go? Where did they come from, strange new quirks?" Toga hummed, leaning her head on Dabi's shoulder.
"Cotton Eyed Joe? Really?" Dabi snickered, the trembling in his arms and hands dwindling.
"It is a classic and the dance goes to any song. Trust me, I have tried it out." Toga defended her song choice diligently.
Izuku nodded. "I, too, have tried out that hypothesis." He looked at Bakugou. "And to answer your question, Kacchan, there was this great discount store at the place I was held when I was a captive. It had all sorts of things I needed. Food, quirks, fucks to give but I skipped those. Not my style."
Bakugou smirked. "Judging by the deflective way you are answering the question and the marks on your neck - "
"Shut the fuck up." Dabi and Toga hissed at the same time, faces contorting into expressions of pure rage and hatred.
Izuku said nothing, just wordlessly got off the couch and walked over to the elevators, punching in his floor number, a far off, glazed over look in his eyes. He disappeared into the contraption, on his way to his room while leaving everyone in a tense silence.
"Fuck. Dabi - "
"On it." Dabi stood up and ran to the stairs, skipping the elevator.
Toga faced everyone in the room with a cold expression, eyes promising pain as they stared at Bakugou. "We're done here." She turned and walked towards the staircase, pausing in the entrance. "Oh, and so that I can get something for sharing...I met Dabi first. He saved my life and together we saved Rabid's life." She clenched her fists, blinking back tears as her body shook slightly. "And if you, Bakugou Katsuki, have jeopardized that I will - " Sucking in a breath, Toga cut herself off as she bolted up the stairs to be with her friends.
Those left behind in the common room all glanced at a guilty looking Bakugou. He avoided their eyes, a scowl on his face. "I didn't mean to...I didn't mean to make him...I just wanted to know how he got his quirks and whether he lied to me as kids."
Bakugou stood up, walking out the front door of the dorms, Ashido and Kirishima following after him.
"What do we do?" Kaminari asked after a beat of silence, his fingers drumming anxiously on his leg. "We can't just let him - "
"The bracelets monitor their vital signs as well. We'll know if he tries anything." Aizawa looked towards the stairs. "Right now, the best thing we can do for them is to grant Toga her wish."
"But she didn't - "
"Not verbally. Her body language gave it away." Aizawa continued.
"What was it?" Sero asked, head tilted in confusion.
Aizawa sighed, glancing at All Might and Tsukauchi before answering his student. "Toga wants our trust."
