Chapter Fourteen
I opened my eyes to bright light shining through the curtains. PJ and Leoni were still asleep, making me smile as I kissed them both on the head.
"Mm. Nice way to wake up," PJ commented quietly, making me chuckle quietly.
"Good morning to you too," I said.
"Good morning," PJ managed to say through yawned.
"We should probably get up and start breakfast," I told him. I then saw Leoni shift in her sleep and yawn as her eyes slowly opened. "Good morning,"
"Mm. M-morning.. Mommy," Leoni stiffled a yawn, then looked at PJ. "Morning, Daddy,"
"Good morning to you, too, Leoni,"
"Do you want to help us make breakfast?" I asked the small five year old. Her eyes immediately lit up and a big smile broke across her face.
"Yessss!" She cheered. PJ and I laughed at her and, everybody together, we left to go to the kitchen.
Once there, I asked Leoni what she wanted to make.
"Pancakes!" She exclaimed, making me laugh. We smiled at the young girl and I created all the ingredients.
"You know, you could just create pancakes," PJ whispered to me.
"I wanna cook with my family!" I explained and laid out the ingredients om the counter. "Do we have everything?"
"Umm," Leoni began. "Flour, two eggs, milk, sunflower oil and caster sugar. Yessum!" We didn't question her 'yesum', but stared at her, surprised.
"How do you know exactly what we need?" PJ asked the small child.
"Since I was bullied in the orphonage, I'd usually help out in the kitchen!" She smiled and began cooking.
Since Leoni knew what to do the best, she became the 'head chef' and we became her two 'assistants'. We put the flour, eggs 1tbsp of oil and a pinch of salt into a bowl, then Leoni began to whisk it. In the meantime, me and PJ set a medium frying pan over a medium heat and wiped it with some oiled kitchen paper. (I'm literally looking at an online recipe 😅) After doing so, we poured some of the mix into the pan and cooked each side for one minute. Once we had made a lot of pancakes, we set them out on the table, putting two on each plate and extras in the middle and sprinkling some of the sugar on them. I then created some syrups and fillings.
Once we had finished, the smell woke everybody up.
"What smells so delicious?" Natasha asked when she entered the room in a half-asleep state. When her tired eyes lay on the table of pancakes, she became fully awake. "Pancakes!" She had shouted. Everyone else soon followed.
After that, we had a small gathering in the living room.
"We've been living here for the past couple weeks, but we still haven't made a move to get out of here," Mike told us, looking each of us in the eyes. I looked up from doing small hand claps with Leoni. She whined a little and sat herself in my lap.
"Honestly," I began. "It doesn't seem like a bad idea to stay he-"
"What are you saying?" Natasha asked, shocked at what I was saying. "How can you-"
"Let me finish! So, as I was saying, it doesn't seem like a bad idea to stay here. I mean, we have shelter warmth and protection. But, if we stay here, who knows what'll happen to us. It's only a matter of time before we're found. What we need to do, is devise a strategy that has a 100% of success. We can't have even the slightest possibility that we'll fail. Because, if we fail, we die," I spoke. "Anyone have any ideas?"
"I have one," Layla timidly raised her hand. Everybody looked at her espectantly and waited for her to continue. "Well, this is risky, but it could work. For one, we'd need a decoy. Demons can sense magic, so a spell won't work. Maybe an animal? Or a person? No, that's too risky. The decoy might be killed. The land is very big and has different 'regions'. Some areas are hot, some cold, etc. They all represent the dour seasons. We're currently in the Spring region. Our magic won't work as decoys, so we will have to use a natural animal or person, Demon that we could brainwash. No, that's too cruel. The decoy would present themselves to some Demon Guards, but would need to look as if they were split from the group. Then they'd be taken by the guards. That's the risky part. We would need to place a tracker where the guards wouldn't check. Once done, we would wait until it has stopped moving and then launch an attack," We kept listening to her rant to herself in silence. "If we sneak into the castle, we, for sure, would be noticed by the guards and servants. If we knock them out, then they'll be found and the whole castle will be alerted. If we keep them somewhere in the castle, then they'll raise suspicion and alert the castle, but, if we do something to a part of the kingdom... I got it!" She suddenly exclaimed. "We place a tracker on a decoy and let them get arrested. We then follow that track once it's gone still and sneak into the castle. Two, or three, of us should stay in a part of the kingdom that's far away from the castle and set an explosion that destroys the walls and free a bunch of animals. That'll distract the guards and they'll be told to take care of the situation. They'll need back up, so more Demons will leave. That'll leave a few that we can take out and hide the bodies. If we do that, it won't raise as much suspicion since they'll have been thought to have help with the problem. We value then sneak to the dungeon, free the decoy and defeat the King, then leave. What does everyone think?" Layla asked, looking around at everyone.
Everybody had a shocked face at how well thought-out this plan was.
(Like when Momo was mumbling a out the tea)
We all looked at her.
"I think it's a great idea," Jake said, sitting suspiciously close to Jack. I squinted my eyes at them and smirked, much to the embarrassment of Jack and Jake.
"Yeah. It's extremely thought out and I don't see any risk in it, other than getting caught by the guards when letting the animals loose. Even then, if we get captured, we could just escape in the riot that would be happening," Devon spoke.
"Hold on. What do we do with Leoni? It'll be too dangerous to leave her here, and too dangerous to take her with us. What do we-"
"I can protect myself, Mommy! I've been practicing and I can summon two beings, now!" She told me, holding my hands and smiling brightly at me. I was still unsure.
"I can protect her, too. Plus, one of the guardians she can summon are..." PJ shivered. I snickered.
"Aww. Were you scared~?" I asked in a baby voice, making him blush and cross his arms.
"N..No...!"
* * * * *
After our small 'meeting', I left to go outside. Once there, I stood by the lake and smiled.
"This place seems so familiar to me... Why?" I asked quietly.
"Maybe you're an incarnation?" A voice behind me joked. I smiled, turning around.
"Maybe... Probably not," I spoke, smiling once again when I felt his arm go around my waist and pull me closer to him.
"Even if you were, it wouldn't matter,"
"What do you mean?"
"It doesn't matter if you're smaller, bigger, or genderbent. I'd still love you,?"
"You'd turn gay for me?" I snickered.
"I love you, don't I?" He said to me, kissing my lips.
"And I love you, too," I told him into the kiss. We parted and I crouched down by the water, swirling my finger around in it.
When looking at PJ's smiling reflection, I saw a figure sneaking up on him.
"PJ! Look o-" We both were snuck up on and had our mouths covered. My hands immediately went to take the hand off, when I felt something cold and metal touch my neck.
"Don't. Move," The person that held me hissed. By... Certain things... I could tell it was two girls. PJ's hands immediately went to elbow his capturer. She saw this and apprehended his hands and covered his mouth by summoning a third arm that appeared from her right. I growled when I saw her lick her lips and get closer to his neck.
"I like you," She whispered huskily in his 'ear'.
"Don't touch him!" I shouted through the hand that covered my mouth.
"Don't shout, speak, or move," The female Demon behind me instructed, making the blade dig into my skin a little more. I gulped, tears in my left star eye and right oval eye. "Now!"
The woman holding PJ knocked him out and let him drop to the floor. I made the mistake of turning my head and digging the blade into my neck, making a little blood seep out. When the woman behind me felt the blood crawl onto her hand, she immediately loosened her grip, but still tight enough to keep hold of me.
"Damn it! King Maiestas is gonna kill me!" She hissed and knocked me out.
