Frozen (Bradley Baker)

Requested by Maddison233: Bradley and Y/N are dating, and something happens to Y/N instead of Bradley.

My eyes flicked over the stretches of white that surrounded us, my heart thumping violently in my chest at the idea that we were stuck out here.

"Fucking come on! Goddammit!" Bradley yelled, making me turn to look back at my boyfriend. He clenched his jaw and turned the key in the ignition again, the car sputtering and struggling, but not into life as he desperately tried to restart the vehicle.

"Bradley, it's not going to start, we should consider walking and trying to find somewhere warm to stay for the night." I sighed.

"That's not a good idea, babe, there's no guarantee that we'll find anywhere all the way out here, and it's way too cold to risk getting stuck out there overnight." He mumbled and shook his head as he also looked out of the car windows over the seemingly endless expanse of snow.

"We don't have a choice if the car won't start." I shook my head.

"That...is also true." He sighed and nodded as he looked at me. I gave him a small smile and rested my hand on his as I tried to hide how fucking terrified I was at the situation that we were in. Bradley and I had been dating for two years now, and he was truly the love of my life. Despite the slightly cold and stand-offish personality that he showed to new people, I had seen through that and so hadn't let that put me off getting to know the boy. Thank fuck that I had made that decision, because Bradley soon trusted me enough to show me his real side, which ended up being what I fell in love with. I knew all about his fucked-up relationship with his dad, and what had happened to him and his brother when he'd been a teenager. It was all fucked, but I was here to help him through, and he knew that. But today, I didn't know how I'd stay strong. We had been travelling to go and visit Bradley's mom, part of the journey consisting of going through an extremely cold and snowy state. And so we had been driving through endless trees and ice-covered roads...before the car had decided to break down. To make matters even worse, our phones had no signal, and the thickest coats that either of us had were jackets. This was bad. I knew that already.

"Fucking hell-you're right, we can't sit here and freeze to death, there might be a cabin or something nearby." Bradley nodded, making me return it as he opened his door. As soon as he did, the harsh temperature of the outside hit me like a truck, making me wince as my boyfriend climbed out, and I zipped up my jacket with already numbing fingers. I climbed out too, the drastic change sending shivers all through my body within mere seconds as Bradley grabbed our bags before locking the car.

"Come on, baby." He mumbled, making me gulp and take his arm as he took my hand, and intertwined our fingers before we started to walk.

Bradley and I trudged over the frozen lake, both of us shivering uncontrollably and my hands so numb that I couldn't even tell if mine was being held by Bradley's anymore as the wind harshly whipped the snow into our faces. Bradley wrapped his arm around my waist and pulled me into his body, my head resting against his shoulder as he tightly held me into his side. I looked up, my entire body numb but also somehow filled with pins and needles at the same time as I tried to see something, anything, through the violent snowfall that we had walked into. But...it worked. My eyes widened, my heart jumping in hope as through the white mist in front of us, I could just about make out the shape of what looked to be a small cabin. But I didn't care how small it would be. It was shelter. And that was what mattered.

"B-b-bradley...t-there." I spoke, my teeth chattering and the air so cold that it burned my lungs as I raised my shaking hand and pointed to the cabin. Bradley followed my finger with his gaze and his eyes widened.

"F-fuck, good spot, babe. Come on." He nodded, making me return it as he let me go and started to walk ahead slightly so that he could get a better look at the cabin. But then, for what felt like the thousandth time today, everything once again came crashing down. Before I could process anything, the feeling of the ice underneath my feet was gone, a painful wetness taking over instead. I screamed, my eyes widening and everything in me being shocked harshly as the ice underneath me broke, and I fell straight into the deadly cold water of the lake.

"Y/N!" I heard Bradley yell, making me gasp harshly and try my hardest to stay calm as I just about managed to keep my head above the water. Though, that was hard given that every breath I managed to get into my lungs, no matter how shallow, would just be forced straight out again due to the cold.

"BRADLEY! H-HELP!" I tried to yell as he sprinted towards me. He collapsed on his knees next to me, both of our eyes wide as he desperately grabbed my hands and started to pull me out of the water.

"Fuck, fuck-it's going to be okay, baby, you're going to be okay." He nodded, but I could tell by the panic on his face that he was equally as terrified as he pulled me out of the water. I gasped for air, my entire body completely fucking numb and feeling like it was shutting down as my hands shook uncontrollably.

"B-b-bradley." I gasped as my boyfriend scooped me up in his arms and picked me up bridal-style.

"I know, babe, I know, but you're going to be okay, I promise." He panted, my lungs burning and my eyes still wide from the shock of the water as Bradley carried me as quickly as he could to the cabin.

"It's going to be okay, baby, I promise, stay with me." Bradley gulped, my body uncontrollably shaking in his arms as he kicked in the door of the cabin, and quickly carried me in.

"I-I-I'm so c-c-old." I gasped as he immediately put me down by the fireplace.

"I know, babe, I know, which is why we're going to get you out of these clothes now, and get a fire going, we need to warm you up." He nodded, my mind not being able to feel a single part of my body as Bradley started to unzip my jacket with shaking hands.

"I-I love y-you, but n-now doesn't feel l-like the r-right time, f-for romantic s-sex in front o-of a fire." I teased. Bradley chuckled and shook his head, his hands racing to undress me as he smiled at me.

"That's it, baby, keep joking, as long as you keep joking, I know that you're okay." He nodded, making me return the smile weakly as he pulled my top over my head. He continued to quickly undress me until I was completely naked before looking around the cabin.

"Okay, okay, here, my love." He mumbled, partly to himself as he grabbed all of the blankets that he could see before wrapping them tightly around my shoulders.

"Oh, t-that already f-feels better." I sighed in relief, my eyes fluttering shut at the there, if not slightly distant feeling of the blanket around me.

"Good, baby, that's what we want." Bradley nodded as he started to light the fire too.

Bradley and I lay on the floor in front of the fire, both of our bodies wrapped tightly in the blankets as he continued to warm me up. My head was resting in the crook of his neck, my boyfriend's fingers gently combing through my hair, and almost sending me straight to sleep as he continued to use his own body heat to get mine back up.

"How are you feeling, baby?" He asked quietly, my heart fluttering in my chest as he pressed soft kisses to the skin of my face.

"A lot better, and warmer. I can feel everything now." I mumbled equally as quietly.

"Good, that's good, that means that you're out of the woods." He reassured. I let out a shaky breath and closed my eyes at his words, my heart jumping at the realisation that I really could have died back there. And I had no doubt that I would have done if Bradley hadn't acted so quickly.

"Thank you for what you did out there, Brad. You saved my life." I muttered into the skin of his neck.

"Don't thank me, baby, I wouldn't have been able to live with myself if I hadn't saved you. You're the love of my life, it wasn't an option to let you go, especially not like that." He returned. I couldn't help but smile slightly, my heart so full of love for the boy whose arms I was wrapped in as we just continued to cuddle in front of the fire that had helped in saving my life.

"I love you, Bradley." I whispered, my eyes starting to grow heavy as the events of the day began to catch up to me.

"I love you too, baby. Sleep well." He returned, making me sigh out and sink further into his arms as I closed my eyes, and slipped into the gentle grasp of sleep.
