Speedrunning ZTD Escape Rooms
SPOILER WARNINGS
Ok if you've come this far I think I can trust you to not get spoiled. If you get spoiled, I have a warning so it's your fault.
I beat the game, so I have an idea of what the rooms are. The individual puzzles however I have no recollection of. So think of this as text of either, my memories or my skill.
Pantry: 9 minutes
Heh, this was easy. As long as you know simple math.
Infirmary: 9 minutes
It didn't have any hard puzzles, it could have gotten a lot better if they had some more puzzles dealing with the scanner or the lockers.
Rec Room: 9 minutes
Simple math again. The heart puzzle took up around 50% of my time.
Control: 20 minutes
THIS ROOM SUCKS, THERE ARE SO MANY PUZZLES IT BECOMES STRESSFUL. THE KNOB PUZZLE WAS HARD. THE WIRE PUZZLE WAS HARD. THE FINAL DECISION KILLED ME.
Power Room: 16 minutes
The puzzles weren't too hard, EXCEPT THE LIGHT PUZZLE. IT TOOK ME LIKE 8 MINUTES.
Biolab: 11 minutes
I got stuck for a while because it wouldn't let me push the carts together unless I examined the sink. This room is pretty easy if you take your time and think linearly. I didn't do that the first time I played and got stuck for around 1 hour ;)
Pod Room: 13 minutes
Physics, patience, and a way to move blocks is all you need to beat this room. The locks were SO frustrating.
Study: 12 minutes
The "dances" make this so much harder! I mean, I understand, but it was annoying nonetheless. Some of the other things were a bit weird as well, such as the grenade launcher. Also, I didn't realize there was a staircase for a while and I was tearing my hair out trying to figure out what to do. Just memorize passwords, and the "dances" and you'll be okay. It's also confusing... and I liked it because I love passwords.
Locker Room: 7 minutes
The switching concept was cool, but this room was overall average. I enjoyed the little nitpick spots, but seriously!? IF A WOMAN WANTS TO PUT THE HOSE ON THE FAUCET LET HER, IT DOESNT NEED TO GO ON THE SHOWERHEAD. If you couldn't tell that one took me a while.
Trash Disposal Room: 4-5 minutes
I finished around 4, but animations and dialogues made it around 5. I loved this room. Besides me not figuring out that I could talk to Phi and investigate the Incinerator, it was pretty straight forward. The toolbox puzzle wasn't too hard, and the rest was pretty linear and straightforward.
Healing Room: 8 minutes
Ok I like the harpsichord key ideas, but the play button plays the keys too fast. Or at least give the player a dialogue where they say the keys are or something. I like the healing room without the puzzles anyway, that room is lit. I wish we got to see the rest of the walls.
Manufacturing: 5 minutes
I GOT SO LUCKY, I DIDN'T CUT THE WRONG WIRES AND GET A MINIGAME. OH LORD. I lied I got one mini game, the first cut. But that one is the easiest so it's all good. This room was fun, but I don't like thinking through notes. So I ended up just guess and testing the first playthrough. For speedrunning I had to take the notes into consideration. I got it wrong the first time, but I got better. So it'll go pretty straightforward if you don't cut the wires wrong.
Transporter: 8 minutes
Oh lord the MATH. THE MATH!!! Ok so just use the card game to determine what cards are greater then the others. Then multiply, and make the printy things. And solve! This one wasn't hard, it just took long because I had to backtrack to check my math.
If I missed any rooms, tell me so I can speed run them. Also, my friends have VLR and 999 right now. So I can't speedrun those as of right now. Once people are finished completely ill speedrun those rooms. Keep in mind that I watched an LP of VLR and 999, so I have no idea what the puzzles are like. Those ones will be considerably longer than those in ZTD when I get the chance.
