The Sting
(A/N: What if, Hiccup had gotten stung during, "The Big Sting," episode in Race to the Edge?)
The young speed stinger ran right behind Hiccup in all the chaos that was going on in the dome, and sting his leg.
Astrid saw everything and grabbed a shield before she, herself got stung. After the stinger got captured in the cage again, Astrid ran over to her best friend. Hiccup was standing there, almost still.
But, this was once of the new side effects since the speed stinger wasn't so old. The only thing that didn't move was his arms.
Fishlegs was though the same. They could move but Hiccup wouldn't feel anything.
"Hiccup...do you feel fine?" Astrid asked, concern laced in her voice as she placed a hand on his cheek. The man nodded. "I'm fine..." She signed. "Yeah, your fine but young arms aren't!"
Hiccup gave her a reassured smile before looking at Fishlegs. "How long do you think that this will last?" He asked. "A few hours, maybe less..."
"Thanks...I'll go and get some sleep..."
Astrid looked at the group before looking at her friend. "I'll go with him...just to make sure everything's fine..." She said, her cheeks burning.
Snotlout rolled his eyes and stomped away, angry. He knew that the two cared about each other, very much but he still had feelings for Astrid and he didn't want his cousin to get her!
Astrid walked towards Hiccup and smiled at him. The eighteen-year-old smiled at the blonde and the two started to walk towards his hut.
The walk seemed so long because of the silence. It was just hilarious. It wasn't even hundred yards from the dome to Hiccup's hit but even that seemed to take longer than it should.
But all the way to his hit, he had to question going around in his head. But he wanted to ask it inside. Outside was to much of a risk.
So he did once they entered his house. Toothless, who was already home and sleeping on his slab, had long ago started the fire.
It was nice an warm inside since the chilly midnight air had been biting their faces.
Sitting from his bed, he looked at Astrid two was sitting on his chest full of things. She was turned towards the wall behind her, admiring the tails for Toothless.
"Astrid...how does it come that you are the only one who truly cares about me?"
Of course, he had a hypothesis but he wanted to hear it from her and only her.
Astrid looked at Hiccup with eyes of nothing but truth. She stood up slowly and walked over to the bed, sitting down next to the man.
"You wanna hear the truth?" She asked. "Of course I wanna hear the truth!" Hiccup said a little louder than he had intended to.
Astrid leaned back in shock and surprise with wide eyes. "I'm sorry...I didn't mean to yell at you. I'm sorry, Astrid." She smiled and looked at him.
"The truth is, I always admired you, throughout the years since dragons came into our life. You were so willing to do anything back then. And I guess that why I opened up myself. Because all the things you did, all the times you risked your life, it just kinda kicked in. I don't know...I guess that I will always have this side of me, just open for the once that I truly care about."
"And I am one of the persons that you truly care about?" Hiccup asked. Astrid smiled lightly before nodding and placing her head on his shoulder.
Every time she had laid her head on his shoulder, he would
Lately wrap his arm around her waist but she understood the he couldn't move his arms so it was no problem.
Hiccup smiled. "You know...these things can't just get anywhere with us...I mean, we kiss, we hug in placed that people's used to be. This can't just get somewhere without us being something, so, what are we?" Hiccup asked.
Astrid raised het head from his shoulder and looked at him. Hiccup turned his head towards her and smiled.
"I want you to be my girlfriend..." Hiccup said. Astrid looked at him with a prize winning smile before she threw her arms around his neck.
Astrid nodded against his shoulder, tightening her grip around her boyfriend's neck.
Boyfriend...it felt weird to say but so...right. Astrid could easily get used to it. She just needed him to tell her everyday. Not because she had a bad memory.
Because she wanted to hear it from him. Hiccup suddenly felt the feeling in his arms come back before wrapped his arms around Astrid's waist.
The girl stiffened before she pulled away. "Hiccup...your arms!"
"I know..." He laughed and hugged her. Astrid smiled, buried her face into the crook of his neck and hugged him back. It was just such a beautiful moment.
They liked each other. (More like loved if you ask me.)
But...try would certainly stick together!
