Chapter 23

Hi, I'm so sorry that this chapter took so long. I was very busy with drawings and some personal stuffs. Plus, I had a writer's block and I didn't know how to continue this story but I finally managed to complete this chapter. Hope you like it and enjoy your reading :)

Adalinne's POV

We walked through the magical forest and finally made it out in less than an hour. Celestine used a shortcut to get us out of there quicker. She knows the path like its in the back of her hand. Well, of course she would. She's the one who created it.

"So Adalinne, tell me what happened after I left." Celestine asked.

"Well... You know about Ethaletha and all the attacks right? How about King Lais? Do you know that he died?"

"He died!? Oh, I didn't know about that... When did he die?" she asked.

"Several days ago. His son, Prince Niel is the new king now." I stated.

"There's a high possibility that Serafine didn't know about it either. That means, she's going to search for Lais and kill him." Celestine said.

"But if she founds out, then she would kill Niel!?" I asked.

"Yes. She won't stop until all the royal bloods die. You need to protect him at all costs. I'll face Serafine. Right now, we need to get to the castle. There's something there that could help me defeat Serafine." Celestine stated.

"What is it?" I asked.

"You'll know it when you see it. Now hurry." she said and we both started walking faster.

I really hope that Niel and the others are in a safe place right now.

Before we reached the town, we saw some knights talking and walking around the gate. I quickly pulled Celestine to hide behind a tree.

"What's wrong?" Celestine asked.

"They might think that you're Serafine. If we just walk towards them, we would be captured." I stated.

"I'll just tell them that I'm Celestine." Celestine said.

"They wouldn't believe you that easily. We should most probably disguise or search for another way through." I said.

"I guess we'll use another way in... Follow me!" Celestine said as she walked away.

I followed her back to the forest. "Where are we going?" I asked.

Celestine didn't answer as she continued to walk further into the forest. She suddenly stopped in front of a huge tree. She then began to cast a spell and caused the tree to emit green light around it.

The light shines brighter and brighter until I had to close my eyes. When I opened it again, the tree now has a door on it.

Celestine opened the door and walked inside. I followed not far behind her and closed the door. The door disappeared right after.

We walked in darkness for awhile until we entered yet another door. To my surprise, the door leads right to the magical room that leads to the rooftop.

"Celestine, what is this room?" I asked.

"This room once belongs to Ana. I added a little magic so that this room could appear anywhere at anytime. Ana was a curious young girl who likes adventures. So this room was her favourite place for her to have free time." Celestine stated.

"It's my favourite place too." I said, looking down. I still couldn't believe the fact that Aunt Ana was long gone. It would've been nice to know more about her. The real her.

"It's okay, Adal. I'm sure Ana would've wanted you to have her room. So after the war ends, you can have it all to yourself." Celestine smiled.

We went out of the room and walked carefully through the hallways. I followed Celestine for several minutes until she stopped in front of a huge dark blue door which is locked with thick, rusty chains.

By the looks of it, whatever is inside that door must be extremely dangerous.

"Stand back!" Celestine said as she cast a spell.

I took several steps away and watched her from afar. Suddenly, before she could finish her spell, someone pushed her down.

"Don't move!" Sir Raymond said as he aimed his sword towards Celestine.

"Sir Raymond! Put the sword away please! She's Celestine, the good witch!" I shouted.

"Why should I believe you? You were the one who released Serafine!" Sir Raymond stated as he looked at me with hatred.

"I know, it's my fault. You have every right to hate me. But you have to believe me! She's Celestine. We need her to defeat Serafine and Ethaletha." I begged him as I kneeled down in front of him.

"She's telling the truth. I'm Celestine, your rightful queen. I demand you to put the sword away and let me finish my spell." Celestine said firmly as she stood back up.

"I said, don't move!! There's no possible way to differentiate the two witches. I rather not believe anyone until the other witch showed up." Sir Raymond shouted as he moved nearer towards Celestine.

"Listen, Serafine would've killed you by now. But I'm not her. I don't want to hurt you. Just let me take what is rightfully mine behind that door. Or else, I have no other choice but to lock you away. We don't have much time. While we're arguing here, Serafine might've already finished preparing her army and would attack at any time." Celestine said with a stern voice.

Sir Raymond seemed to be convinced by her statement. He finally puts his sword away and nodded at Celestine.

"Very well. I'll believe you for now." Sir Raymond sighed.

Celestine continued her spell and finally unlocked the chains. The door opened and revealed bright light from the inside. The light slowly fades away until I could finally see the item Celestine talked about....

I'm terribly sorry for the short chapter and the lack of exciting scenes. This part is just the calm before the storm.

The next chapter is going to be more interesting so I do hope that you'll continue reading! :)

And I apologise once again because the next part might take more time for me to finish.
