My name is Jake and I am in highschool. It was a nice day, the sun shining, not too hot or cold, perfect amount of wind. I was eating happily on the school rooftop until, suddenly the door to the rooftop opened so fast that I didn't know where to hide. "Jake, there you are? I couldn't find you anywhere!" shouted Josh.

"Oh, it's just you." I said without any energy from getting shocked. "Why did this have to happen to me and why did I have to meet him?" I said in my mind.

"Why are you here Josh?" "Can you just stop following me around every single time when we have free time." I said.

"Let's be friends" said Josh. "Are you even listening to me?" I said angrily. "And I don't want to be friends with you or with anyone."

Josh took his lunch and sat down by me. I ate my lunch as fast as I can so that I can get away from Josh. "So, what are you going to do when you finish your lunch? Want to hang out with me?"asked Josh. He kept asking me more questions and was being annoying.

"Dude can you please stop talking because every single time you talk, it almost means death to me 24/7 and when I get away from you, I get revived!" I yelled back.

"Hey, I am not like a death god." replied Josh. "Well then leave me alone and stop talking to me." I said.

At the end of the day I ran as fast as I could to get home to avoid Josh.

On the next day, when I was walking home after school, Josh ran to catch up to me. "Hey, want to go get a drink?" said Josh.

"No, I don't because I want to go home quickly so that I can be alone!" I shouted.

But while I was telling Josh why I didn't want to go get a drink, Josh fainted right in front of me.

I thought that Josh was joking around so I said,"Josh wake up, this is not a joke." but Josh wouldn't wake up no matter how much I call him.

This was the worst thing ever and I really regretted this. I was so shocked but I quickly put Josh on my back and ran to the hospital.

The next day, after school I went back to the hospital to check on Josh. When I entered, Josh was still sleeping.

The doctor came in the room and asked "Are you Josh's friend?" the doctor asked. "Yes" I answered back.

"I know that this is going to be hurtful but..." the doctor hesitated for a second. "but Josh had a heart disease for a long time now and he never got it fixed or went to the doctor so he only has 1 more day left to live and he will die tomorrow." said the doctor sadly.

I was really shocked that my heart almost stopped. Tears started to come out. I wished that I was friends with Josh earlier. I stayed at the hospital for 3 hours then went back home.

The next day after school, I got a phone call from the hospital. "Is this Jake?" Yes this is Jake." I replied. "Well you should see your friend because his heart level is going down."said the doctor sadly.

I ran as fast as I can to the hospital. When I came there I heard a beeping noise in the room that Josh was in. I started crying and a lot of tears were coming out a lot.

If I knew that this was going to happen, I would've hanged out and talk to him more like a friend. This was the worst day in my life and even more worse than when Josh would always annoy me.

From this day and on, I have learned my lesson and had a few friends to be with, instead of always being alone.

One thing in my life is if Josh was still alive I would say, "Josh, I'm sorry that I didn't want to be friends with you but now lets be friends."

Everybody in my class clapped and then, across the hall, I thought I saw Josh walk, waving and smiling at me in front of my class. Tears started to come down. Mrs. Shelm asked, "What is wrong Jake?" "Nothing." I replied back smiling.
