WAVES

sometimes,
unspoken sadness
washes over me,
drowning me in a
sea of emotion.
it is then i choose
to vanish under
the sea foam,
submerge myself
in cool, onyx waters
and let it swallow me
completely and
without mercy.
do not worry, my love,
for i am not gone,
but simply just hiding
for a little while.
when i return,
it will be with
a hesitant smile
and open arms,
