Chapter 25: Unsettling Discomfort

Akai carefully walked through the corridor, gladly returning from the kitchen with the treat of a cooled carton of his juice. He smiled as he took in the warm and serene environment, feeling the fresh breeze passing through the path while ontrasting the thermal sensation with the chilled drink in hand. His footsteps were the only echoes that sounded trough the passage and as each light click followed him, he came to a slow halt.

He looked around himself, circling through the whole 360 degree turn until he came back to facing his own path. Pondering over what his instincts had caught that disturbed him, he slowly swivelled every which way. He stopped the tranquil sips he was having of his juice and lightly sniffed the air around him. 'I smell pheromones...' He commented in his mind right before bowing his head in defeat, understanding the implicitly behind the familiar sense. He silently prayed in his thoughts before whispering out his condemnation towards the situation. "F**k my life..." Akai turned himself around to come face to smiling face with his mischievous neighbour.

"Yo homedog, how's the fam doing?" Lilito chirped in a mockingly deep pitch, greeting the annoyed and hostile boy with a differentiating dialect. Akai held his aggravated glare directed at the male, making him tilt his head in curiosity. "You don't seem too happy for some reason." Teasing the obvious, Akai had to suppress the urge of striking the aggravator in the jaw.

"Lily-boy, it's Saturday. F**king Saturday! Do you have nothing better to do?!" He angrily questioned the male, chanting for him to leave the area, and him, alone.

Lilito looked at him, insult and hurt, disbelieving at the hurtful attitude the male gave him. "Something that's more important than you? Why I never!" He breathed out in disgust at the thought before a playful and coy smirk spread to his lips. "Now give me a smile big boy. I want you to feel relaxed around your buddy."

"And I want you to F**K OFF!" Akai snapped as his muscles began trembling with tension, preparing to lunge at the irritating male. Lilito didn't budge at the hostile signs of intimidation and simply grinned at his neighbour.

"Aww, what's wrong Akai? Are you getting angry?" He teased, sweetening his vocals as the boy's burning eyes smouldered the playful male's image.

"Yes, I am getting f**king angry!" Akai shouted at his smiling face, baring his clenched teeth like a raved animal right before his features immediately switched off at a realisation. He thoughtfully assessed the situation outside the rage filled senses as he began revising the events. "I am getting angry..." He carefully repeated as the epiphany triggered a recollection. "That was the first step, wasn't it...?" He mumbled to himself, catching his irritator in confusion as Lilito was still wondering why he wasn't dodging flying objects yet. "...I can't believe I'm doing this." He bitterly murmured as he kneeled to the ground and placed his front to the floor where he began pumping up and down in press ups. "500, 497, 486, 483..."

Lilito stared at his behaviour, completely shocked at the unseen reaction before looking around himself to find that he was still in reality. "Haha...is-is there a camera somewhere recording this or something? Am I getting pranked...?" The boy tried to excuse, watching as his room neighbour concentrated on counting down his anger rather than the seconds of his demise. "A-Akai, you ok man? Stop that! Come on! Get up and try to kill me." Lilito tried to encourage, poking the male's shoulder which he begrudgingly ignored.

'F**k off already.' The exercising boy growled in his mind as he refused to miss a beat with his press up. "423, 416, 409..." Lilito continued staring at him in complete shock and loss as he watched the boy pumping his body up in response to his attention.

'Holy s**t, I broke him...' The dark haired male commented within the confines of his head, wiping his glasses for a second in an attempt to check what he was witnessing before him was not an obstruction of his spectacles. No change occurred to the reality. 'What do I do when I usually break something...? Run and pretend I was never here.' The astounded boy quickly sprung away from the scene, holding no blame on himself for the male acting out.

As Akai was left to his privacy, he continued pressing his body up and down until he began reaching the final numbers. 'Finally...' He relievingly thought as he heard the male's steps disappearing away from the area. Sensing his temper slowly decimating, he considerately wondered, nearing the last few pumps of his composure. 'Hm...I guess this isn't so bad...' He remarked in his head, coming to a freeze in mid push up as he heard the sound of a straw vacuuming the last of a liquid inside a contained space.

Stabilising his posture and coming to a halt, the male looked back in surprise to the unexpected presence to see a girl amusingly smiling to herself as she watched him. Akai immediately felt the embarrassment surfacing before he jumped up and dismissively sipped on his juice, deludedly pretending he hadn't noticed the girl nor performed the fitness actions. Hearing a feminine humoured chuckle from the individual, he glanced back to see his company smiling at him.

"Happy to see you're taking control, Akai." She supportively informed, earning an ashamed look from the boy who averted his eyes to avoid admittance. (Y/n) scoffed at his stubborn behaviour as she approached the turned away male. "Was Lilito bothering you again?" She interpreted, earning a silent nod from the boy who could not grant her eye contact.

She smirked to herself at the correct assumption before beginning to transfer to her next task. As her attention was turned away, the male dared look back at her to see a boxy object held to her mouth as she sipped the contents from a straw. "You're actually drinking it...?" The female looked towards the juice that matched the boy's in her hand.

"Yeah, it's a real nice cooldown, I just came back from working in the dining area." Informing the male, she proceeded to sip the drink with grateful serenity before pausing for a second to realise her boorish attitude. "Thank you." She indicated towards the drink to which the male softened his posture.

He watched for a moment as the girl began walking off in the direction of her next duty before he found himself walking side by side with her. (Y/n) glanced towards his presence in requisition to his intentions before asking him on his business. "I'm just walking in the same direction." He informed her, though that remained as a forced truth as he had no previous plans to go anywhere specific. As the pair walked in subdued silence the male occasionally glanced towards the girl to see her focusing on the path ahead.

"Do you like the series 'Psycho'?" Akai surprisingly looked at her sudden question, taken aback by both the unpredicted mention and topic. "You know, it's that show about a mentally ill, schizophrenic guy trying to live a normal work and social life while keeping his tendencies under control." She summarised, while Akai had understood her from the first sentence, but remained shocked at her interest.

"How did you know I watch it?" He questioned, trying to hide his surprise.

"I saw you had a mug of the main character in your room. It looked quite old so I knew it must have survived God knows how many outbursts. I figured you probably were a fan to be showing actual care with your property." The male inwardly grumbled at her teasing before shrugging to her question.

"It's ok, I guess. I'm not a big fan. Haven't even watched the new episode yet." The female smirked in intrigue as a mischievous glint reflected in her eyes.

"Oscar dies." Akai grabbed her by the shoulders as a frantic and baffled face shoved itself in her personal space.

"Oscar dies?! Are you're s***ting me?!" He panicked as a concerned and downhearted expression deeply settled on his distraught face.

"I am." The female confessed her bluff as the boy's features settled to stare at her amused smirk. "So, you were saying you weren't a fan?" She raised her eyebrow at his fallen facade as the boy grumpily retracted to pout like a tantruming child.

"I might have followed all the seasons..." He bitterly muttered as the girl hummed in interest before she proceeded back with her journey. Akai progressively and subtly caught up with the worker as she headed towards her subsequent task on the second floor. The boy periodically switched to looking at the female before flicking his gaze away. As they walked along the path, the boy suddenly spoke out a question that seemed to be nagging him through the journey. "Don't you feel uneasy around me?"

The girl looked over at him with a confused expression before regarding his concern. "Hm? Why would I be uneasy?"

The boy looked away at his discomfort at the mentioning his destructive habits. "Well, you know..." He quietly spoke, unwilling to fully admit to his guilt over his actions. "I'm not exactly the safest person to be around." Akai was surprised when the female responded to the claim with a humoured scoff.

"I'm unsafe from you? I can immediately turn that around by a simple pinch on the ear. Pinch! Pinch!" The female quickly darted her hand out to pretend at a nip attack while the boy gently tried to wave her off and dodge.

"C-cut it out." He stammered, overwhelmed with embarrassment at her simple tactic of power. The girl stopped once she saw his face tint in shame and simply smiled at his insecure assumption.

"But no, I don't feel uneasy at all." The comforting response made the male greatly relax with relief, feeling light and unnecessary to try and hold back his personality for the sake of his company. Significantly mellowing out, he felt his feet stepping on solid ground that differed from the tightrope that constantly pressured his temper. "In fact, you make me feel quite safe."

Akai's eyes widened in surprise, stopping himself to fully grasp the uttered comment. "I do?" He questioned, unbelieving of the sincerity of the statement while the girl stopped herself in front of a room before turning around to regard him with an assuring smile.

"Yeah. You don't concern me at all." He gaped at her with mixed emotions, all seeming to comfort him in his presence and self-control. "I know you won't hurt me." The boy thoughtfully watched as the female knocked on the door of the room before getting a permit to enter from the voice inside. "Well, I need to go and clean this room then. See ya." She called out to the male, taking the door handle and preparing to press down and open up the lock.

"How long will it take you?" He questioned her, earning a confused gaze from the girl.

"Hmm, about an hour. Why do you ask?" She curiously returned the enquiry, earning a dismissive shrug from the boy.

"No reason. Have fun." He bid her his wish before turning around to depart from the area. (Y/n) gave a lost grin at his gesture before opening the door to the room.

"Hello, Giovanni." She called out from the doorway, catching the boy's attention, away from his meal.

"Ah! Buongiorno!" The boy happily called out, welcoming the female with a gratifying smile.

"Hey, you finally used that in the context of 'morning'." She informed him, earning an eager nod from the male at his correction. As the girl prepared to close the door, the frame was stopped as a hand gripped the edge and pulled it back to fully open the entrance.

Gennai interrupted the worker's closure, surprising her with his presence as he proceeded to take a step inside the room. "What are you doing in here?" He curiously questioned her, earning a dismissive shrug from the girl.

"I need to clean Giovanni's room." She informed him with a stern tone which made the male's smirk waver for the slightest of seconds before widely smiled at her.

"And I promised to help her try out recipes for a cake. Right, (Y/n)?" Giovanni looked over to the female for support as she confirmed with a nod. The female's expression slightly sunk in confusion as she felt a hand grasping hers tightly in a reluctant hold, stopping her from moving further inside the room.

"Do you need to? I'd really like us to go outside and see the birds with Eban." Gennai happily insisted, lightly tugging on the female's arm in order to persuade her into giving in and leaving.

As the girl was lightly pulled towards the doorway to indicate a preparation for transmitting, right before her other hand neutralised the contrasting movement. Gennai looked towards the other male who had snatched her to a pause and was apologetically smiling at the pair. "Sorry, I just wanted to tell you that I prepared the ingredients and had preheated the oven. So if you're leaving, I'm going to need to switch it off." Giovanni turned his attention towards the girl with an inquisitive gaze. "So, will you be leaving?"

"No, no. I still need to clean here and I was the one who asked you for the help. I'm not leaving now." She informed him, sliding her hand out of the shorter boy's grip, leaving him staring into blank space.

Gennai directed his sharp gaze towards the boy who had unintentionally sabotaged his plans, holding his dark focus on the smiling male, drowning him in spite in the gold of his eyes. Giovanni noticed the attention the boy was giving him and was taken aback by the uncharacteristic malice that he was exhibiting, making him wonder if he had even seen it correctly once a smile snapped onto his features. "Can I join you?" Gennai sounded out, taking a step inside the room without the patience for the answer.

The girl gave him a surprised look at his interest. "I don't really mind. But, it's Giovanni's room so you should ask him too." Gennai smiled towards the bemused male who had to force himself out of his shock.

"Oh, sure. You're welcome to come, I've never seen you show interest in my room so please enjoy yourself." The male commented before backing up to welcome the boy inside. Gennai smirked at his permission before moving in to tactfully begin to look around the room in speculation. (Y/n) joined the brunet where she began gathering the piles of plates in a bag to be taken down to the dishwasher.

"Did you prepare everything just for me?" The girl self-consciously questioned, glancing towards the table of ingredients, toppings, decorations and tools prepared to create the pastry in question. Giovanni eagerly nodded at her observation, sitting himself down beside her to help her gather his mess.

Gennai carefully inspected the ingredients, picking up the flour, sugar, eggs, food dye before inspecting the tools. He carefully watched the pair as he looked at the measuring spoons, picking up cups and the scale before analysing the electrical hand mixer with thoughtful speculation.

"Oh no, what happened to this guy?" (Y/n) asked, picking up a small drone which had its wings broken and landing wheels snapped off as though it were the victim of numerous crash landings. Giovanni shamefully looked away before forcing out a chuckle.

"I wanted to try out flying a drone but it didn't quite turn out so easy." The girl amusingly scoffed before placing the useless toy in the black bag.

"Haha, maybe it's foreshadowing if you ever take up helicopter lessons." The male's eyes widened in horror at the scenario of the proper machine bouncing off cliffs, taking flying parts off itself with each collision while he panicked inside into regaining control over the areal vehicle.

"That's scary..." He mumbled as the female tried to sooth him over her simple joke.

"Is this the cake batter?" Giovanni looked back to see the second male inspecting the mixture with an intrigued gaze.

"Yeah. Would you like to try some?" The male offered, earning a dismissive gesture from the boy. Giovanni turned towards the girl where she began gathering his leftover scraps and junk in another bag, clearing up the floor that was barely visible through the trash. "(Y/n), let me help you. It's my fault that there's such a mess around here."

"Thank you for the offer Giovanni but you don't need to." The female kindly assured him, gently pushing away his helping hands before proceeding with the work. "It's my job, the whole reason the mess is her is for me to clean it." She amusingly excused before tying up a loop over the plastic.

"Ok, I need to go now. I have a maths project I need to work on." Gennai piped up as he arose from inspecting the oven before smiling towards the pair. "I'll see you later." He regarded both of them as he made his way towards the entrance to separate from his company.

The girl watched him with slight surprise at his sudden departure and uncertainly waved him off. "Ok Gennai, good luck with your project-"

As the female turned herself to fully focus on the male's farewell, her body was clasped onto as the boy sprinted up to wrap his arms around her torso in urging affection. "Bye, bye, (Y/n)." He mused before giving Giovanni a smirk, leaving the pair on their own.

(Y/n) stared after him and took a moment to fully register the gesture. Giovanni awkwardly smiled at the girl as he began feeling the after effects of the unnerving smile the boy had given him. "He seems to be pretty close to you."

"He's like a little brother. But you won't believe me what he used to be like before this." She humorously told him, trying to suppress the shudders that came from the memories of his past plans. Giovanni grinned with joy before leading the girl towards the table where they glossed over the items on the furniture. "These look amazing. You really know your stuff."

The boy gratefully regarded her before separating which ingredient she would need for that moment. "I already made my own batter but let's show you how to make your own." The girl eagerly nodded as she followed the instructions the boy proceeded to give her. Cracking eggs and adding flour along with mixing the butter with the sugar until it became a fluffy yellow. "I'm so glad you decided to ask for my assistance."

The female gazed over to her company who was distracting himself with weighing out the rest of the items of food, almost as if the comment unintentionally came out through his preoccupied subconscious to interest the girl. "You keep saying that." She also speculated back, earning a surprised start from the male.

Giovanni's citrus orbs expanded at the realisation of his words that had accidentally extended past his thoughts. "O-oh, sorry, I just say off-handed things sometimes. Please don't mind me." He bumbled out, grabbing a few of the used bowls to place them in the washing bags intended to be later brought down to be cleaned.

The female sent him a wondering look, intrigued over his remarks and commentary. "You seem to really put emphasis on the fact that I wanted your help." The boy gave a small flinch at his prominence before dusting off his hands in slight trepidation.

"It's just...I haven't shared a cooking environment with someone in years. No a lot of people are really interested in wasting their time with experimenting and just creating foods." The girl approached him with a prompting smile as she took over with breaking up the chocolate for the mixture.

"I'm guessing it's because you don't get to share this hobby with others that often." She confirmed to herself, catching her assumption on a close guess as the boy confirmedly nodded.

"I'm quite introverted, so I find it a bit difficult to really invite or even talk with people. I have a hard time conversing with someone if I'm not comforted by food so I prefer to just speak when I'm spoken to." He informed the female as he took her unmixed batter and the hand mixer to prepare and take over her task. He noticed the worried gaze his visitor was sending him and simply gave a dismissive smile. "Don't worry yourself. I prefer to be on my own, it's much more comfortable and soothing." The assurance didn't falter the female's frown which had to be forced up into a smile as a realisation settled in.

"Yes but now I feel a little bit awkward. Compared to you, I feel like my personality made me a bit overbearing and pressuring on you. I hope you tell me whenever I'm too much." Sternly informing him on his responsibility, Giovanni quickly pivoted his head in a shake as he his face remained in frantic contradiction to her interpretation. As though her presumption was an idea too horrific to be considered.

"No! Your energy is directed in all the ways I would use it as well." He briskly assured her, fiddling nervously with the mixer before placing it inside the bowl. "I'm so glad our personalities and ideas don't clash. It's a relief to have someone share the same thoughts as me and at upon them." He bashfully heightened his shoulders as he became tense with slight embarrassment, hesitating on turning on the machine in his hands. "I could actually go as far as to say," His mumble slightly paused, getting engulfed in the fluster his confession and emotions were giving, right before stumbling out his final addition in an even silenced tone, "I found the perfect person to be around...-"

As the mixer was switched on to proceed on combining the ingredients in the bowl, the two whisks jittered and fluttered about, spilling some of the contents to the side and splattering all over; right before one handle snapped off to allow the utensil to sink inside the half beaten compound and the other to fly off in a random direction. "Woah!" (Y/n) exclaimed, rushing over to the male that was splattered with the food as he confusingly gazed at the faulty machine.

"Eh...? Che strano..." He lulled out, lifting the body of the mechanic, only for the front half to detach and fall to the floor, followed by the rest of the body as it broke off from its handle, leaving the male only grasping the holder part. The girl replicated his baffled gaze as she looked at the disassembled machine that seemed to be forever fossilised in its dismantled state.

"What...happened? It just suddenly fell apart..." She wonderingly commented before leaning down to pick up the useless body to inspect for any problems within the machine itself. "That's weird..."

Giovanni nodded in confusion before setting down what was left of the cake mixer and the under moulded batter. "Well, it was bound to happen. It was quite an old tool anyway so it was time for me to change...oh dear." He optimistically excused right before glancing down at his appearance and feeling around his face to notice the cream that had sprinkled on him. He sighed at the inconvenience before he felt a material lightly pressing against his cheek, startling him into jolting away. "W-what are you...?"

The female regained a vantage point to allow her a better position to aid the male in his appearance. "Stay still, I'm trying to help you get cleaned up." The boy became rigid and stiff at the girl's ginger pats and strokes of the moist cloth, tenderly cleaning up the residue of the food while the male's muscles bolted him on the spot. Giovanni could feel the smooth mixture melting against his skin as all his blood chose to situate to his face, leaving the rest of his body feeling cold and eventually flimsy.

"You're very gentle..." He smiled at her as she continued carefully wiping away the last of mess from his flushed cheeks. His lungs burned with the held in breathe he was suppressing to exhale, warming up his heart with the same thermal sensation. "You're very kind as well..."

"Well, you don't need to be harsh and rough to clean a face." The girl ended the assistance with a final swipe over his tinted face as the boy nervously smiled at her inspecting eyes.

"I quite like that. You're a wonderful partner to be around." He commended her presence, making the female gladly grin at his acknowledgement. Giovanni proceeded to approach the stove where he took the bowl of broken up chocolate to liquidise. "Let's melt the chocolate now. Pass me a pot."

As the boy took the nob to turn on the flame around the metal panels, his feet threw him back into a stumble as the fire arose to heights that reached past his head. The male stared in shock at the small explosion of flares that came from the enlarged bomb of heat. Nearly tripping back from the miniature detonation, the pair watched as the flame settled down to regain its control as it ringed around the metal slabs of the stove as though nothing had happened in the first place.

(Y/n) walked up to the stunned male and evaluated his shocked appearance as she consoled him on the small trauma. "Are you ok? Did you get burned?" She questioned, surveying him with a critical eye for any telltale indication he received injuries. The male could not properly respond to her question as he remained unsure himself. He could barely feel her inspecting hands, turning his body and face at certain degrees, from the pure surprise of the explosive flame.

Once he regained proper consciousness, he let out a shaky breath before muddling his head about to sort out his thoughts. "Yeah...what was that about?" He questioned, approaching the stove that had cause the sudden outburst. The girl watched from a few paces away as he inspected the machine and locate the source of the issue.

"That's strange..." He mumbled before pinning his gaze towards the nob that had been turned to maximum. "The gas had already been turned on." Approaching by boy's side, the female noticed what he had meant and pondered over the occurrence herself. "The flame wasn't that large. It must have happened recently." He scratched his head in wonder before adjusting the fire to a more appropriate volume. (Y/n) suspiciously hummed at the occurrence before the Giovanni requested her attention for proceeding with the recipe.

"It almost looks done. Are you excited to taste your first cake under my guidance?" Giovanni quizzed, closing the oven door once he had properly inspected the contents of the inside.

The female eagerly nodded with the impatience of expectancy as she tried busying herself with cleaning the cooking space. Placing each piece of wrapper and bowls and utensils in their respective bags. Giovanni watched her with intrigue as she separated each necessity in its corresponding group before the female noticed him staring. "You seem to be a natural when it comes to taking on a job."

The girl scoffed slightly at his observation before regarding him with amusement. "I'm just adaptable. Besides, this isn't the first time I'm cooking. I take turns with my siblings." She familiarised the male, earning an informative smile from the attentive boy.

"I'm sorry I can't be more interesting to you." Giovanni's taut words vocalised nervously as he moued over his inability to provide further entertainment to maintain the female's interest. As far as his knowledge went, their cooking project seemed to be the most sufficient choice of engagement that he could hold on to. "I'm still trying to get used to what you might like to do." The boy gave a narrow smile that displayed his insecurity towards the inexperienced aspect of his socialism. Giovanni despondently concerned himself whether his company was enough of an immersion to satisfy the female's benevolent presence.

"I'm personally happy the way this is going right now." The boy snapped his attention on the girl as her remark swept the male into a lake of solace and placidity, acquiring a more unbounded mind that abated the clouding doubts in his head, and livened his body. (Y/n) turned towards him once she had placed the last of the unneeded equipment away and sent a pleasing shudder through his senses as she directed a smile towards him. "Cooking and talking. What more does a person really need, haha."

Giovanni riveted his attention on the female, immersing himself in the amiable grin on her bright features. His skin pricked with pleasant tingles as his flowing, sultry blood accelerated and encouraged a small, benignant smirk to stretch his lips. "I'm quite happy as well..." Silently muttering to himself the male was startled out of his dazed state as a small ringing frequency reverberated around the peaceful room. "Ah, the timer! The timer is ringing!" He quickly chattered into transitioning the subject, rushing towards the oven with excessive energy to retrieve the pastry.

As he slid the slab of cooked batter on a plate, he proceeded to cut a piece of the warm food to test. The female joined him by his side where she frowned once the boy seemed to hesitate on tasting the goods as he inspected it with a critical eye. "Is there something wrong?" (Y/n) questioned, finding herself becoming slightly deluded with worry whether she had miscalculated a step in their process.

Giovanni nervously smiled at her concern before trying to settle her abdicated doubts. "No, sorry. I wasn't intending it to look like that. It's just..." He tattered off once he gazed towards the piece which seemed to unnerve his expert eye in the sense of an anomaly. "The texture doesn't quite seem right...Well, let me taste it first! I'm confident we managed to make something great as it is." The boy took a small chunk of the soft material and popped it into his mouth to test.

As the sponge dissolved on his tongue right before he swallowed, the male began light caughts that escalated to dire chokes as he shoved the plate towards the girl before grabbing a trash bag to spit and gag out the contents. (Y/n) stared at him in shock before directing her confused gaze towards the dish of the cake. She uncertainly took a small piece of the soft pastry and placed it at her own taste buds to evaluate, only for her to immediately spit out the overpowering taste. "Agh! Why is it so salty?!" She exclaimed with confusion, cringing her features in a disgusted expression.

Giovanni approached the ingredients that were lined up on a counter and considerately eyed the white crystals inside the sugar bag. He assuringly took the packet and placed a finger inside to steal away a few grains of the ivory flecks and placed them at his tongue to confirm his suspicion. "That's no right...the sugar was swapped with the salt." The girl joined his side to marvel at the mystery of the substitution.

"How strange..." The female silently commented beside him. Gazing over to the quiet boy, she deciphered his expression as a doleful melancholy, urging her to pat his back for comfort. "Hey, don't get down, at least it was a mistake with the ingredients and not us. I'm confident it would have tasted great as it was if it was correctly done." The boy gave a grieving smile before placing down the bag of, what was now, salt.

"You're very kind, but don't worry, these things happen around the kitchen. Maybe we can try again tomorrow." He assuringly informed her, earning an agreeing nod from the female who grinned at his avid composure.

"Of course. I'll have to leave now and perform the rest of my tasks and get all these down to the kitchen and garbage." She indicated towards the piles of four large bags separated into different categories of their respective necessities. "But don't get worked up over it. Tomorrow we'll definitely get it right." The boy eagerly nodded at her optimistic reassurance before the female uncomfortably hauled the heavy bags towards the door.

"Do you need help with those?" He awkwardly questioned, nervously watching as the girl dragged them across the floor. She uncertainly waved his offer off before completely exiting the room with slight difficulty, closing the door behind her once the last bag was yanked out.

Giovanni sat at his table as a dreamy state took over his senses. He looked towards his own bowl of batter that hadn't managed to get a turn in the oven, popping his finger in to distractingly intake the sweet mixing. Thoughtfully gazing around his room, he began recalling images of the female standing around in different areas, regarding him with different expressions and comforting him with different vocal tones. He began filling in the emptiness and silence of the area with her synthetic presence right before he caught himself in his neurotic act.

Lightly rubbing his head in hopes of muddling the welcomed hallucinations away, he habitually placed his finger back in the batter to have another taste, right before his skin caught an unexpected sensation. The male furrowed his brow and began digging around in the compound of creamy mixing before emerging with a small metallic screw covered in the mixed ingredients.

Giovanni stared at the indicative object, placing his digits inside the batter in hopes of confirming this to be a single incident, only to emerge with a number of other small screws and bolts from within the mixture. He revised the health and safety hazard this served and the origin of the dangerously miniature objects. 'These look like they were part of the mixer...' He glossed over to the broken mechanic before settling a deep frown in his features. 'If these were eaten, it could have been damaging...' He assessed the risk of digesting the metal and the chemicals that could cause severe issues to his body. 'This is incredibly suspicious...' He lingered on his consideration before throwing the rest of the batter away.

(Y/n) closed the door to her cooking partner's bedroom, preparing to tug all her bags of tasks to the ground floor, right before a loud voice boomed out in irritancy. "One hour my a**! That took way longer!" The girl stumbled back at the jeering gruff vocals, looking to the lower level to see the red haired male sitting down to lean against the wall, with empty boxes of juice circling him in his own little empire of cartons.

(Y/n) had to take a moment to process his sudden presence before she uncertainly mumbled. "Akai? What are you doing here?" The male stood up at her inquisitiveness and looked around himself in gauche discomposure.

The boy swiftly took the bags away from the girl in a settled justification. "I'm here to help you carry these down." Beholding him with a marvelling gape, she confusingly questioned his intentions.

"Really?" She interrogated with surprise, being responded with an irritating confirmation of a grunt.

"Yes, that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it." He informed, turning around to avoid any more scrutinization from the girl as he seemed to effortlessly carry the bags in the intended direction.

"You should be careful, you nearly threw away all the dishes instead of the trash." The female scolded the boy's incompetent recklessness as Akai simply grumbled at her complaint.

"I said I was sorry..." He bitterly muttered, allowing the female to open the door to the kitchen for him.

"If it isn't my two favourite people." The pair peered at the cheerful voice that emerged from within the room. They were greeted with a sly smirk of the ruby eyed boy's neighbour who limply sat at the kitchen table, watching them with a spark of mischief in his eyes.

Akai took a few steps back at the sight of his nuisance before placing the bags of dishes and utensils down for the girl to take over. "I'm sorry, this is as far as I'll go." He regretfully informed her, subconsciously wishing her his luck if she chose to stay. "Leave as soon as you can." He advised before completely disappearing from the area.

The girl was left to warily watch the smirking boy as she entered the room with the filthy silverware and platters. Placing each one of the items in the dishwasher until it was full, the female suspiciously looked back to see the male carefully assessing her with a hazy expression that stupefied her at the lack of playfulness or amorous intents as he simply seemed to debate over her. "Can I help you?" (Y/n) inquired, cracking him out of his daydream before he looked away.

"I'm just not in a good mood..." He commented as he considerately gazed at his phone, seeming to internally debate over something in his mind before his motivation failed him.

"What's got you down?" She curiously inquired, wondering what could be so serious as to upset the rambunctious boy. Lilito sighed in response to her inquisitiveness before slouching against the table in a moping position.

"I haven't been in the mood to really go out with anyone lately and it's getting on my nerves..." He complained, twirling his mobile device around on the table like a spinner before settling down to pout.

"What, does that mean your sex drive is calming down?" She humoured, earning a beaming grin from the boy.

"Oh no, I'm still a horny b*****d. I just haven't had anyone spark my interest yet." He joked, earning a typical eye roll from his visitor in response to his typical dialog. She leaned against the counter to regard the boy with a puzzled look as she tried to search for the underlying issue behind his problem.

"I thought you had a whole group of girls you were striving after." (Y/n) stated, pondering over the male's lacking energy in indulging his impulses.

Lilito relieved a heavy sigh before glancing back at the female who watched him with prudent concern. "Yeah but it's become more of a chore than a pleasure to interest them. It no longer feels satisfying..." As she could only shrug her shoulders in response to his dilemma, the boy took a moment to observe the girl. As he watched her with consideration, his thoughts began shifting towards the female as a dawning factor began tugging his conscious towards an option that seemed to spark engagement in his mind. "Wanna go on a date?"

"Excuse me?" (Y/n) raised her eyebrow in bemusement at the sudden offer, her only reply consisting of a smirking visage from her company's side.

"It's been a whole week since we last went out. I had a lot of fun." He simply stated, hoping to squeeze the request through in a way that would not give the female too much to ponder over and simply give a nonchalant agreement.

"I'm not interested in having a repeat of last time." She stated, beginning to ignore him through the act of stacking the unwashed table items outside the bags.

"Aww, come on. We can get you to hate another food." Lilito tried to ascend the tone of the conversation before his flamboyant grin slowly faded into a disconcerting frown as he realised she was taking his request by the grain of salt. "I'm being serious." The male caught her attention as he stripped away the layers of playfulness and goof, leaving the pure tone of seriousness to ring through his sincerity. "So far, you're the only one who's catching my eye."

The girl watched his considerate smile, lingering on her decision as he seemed to yearn for her to take his words with the weight they were intended to have. She gave him a deducting glare, trying to decipher any underlying sarcasm or narcissism under his watchful eyes. Eventually letting aloud a conclusive sigh, she crossed her arms to portray her final decision. "You can find someone else to do this with. I'm not interested."

Lilito's expression lost it lighthearted cheerfulness as he scowled at her with a murky shadow over his perception. "Aww, why not? Come on, I promise you this time I'll bring more money in case you like something nice for yourself." He tantalisingly offered, tempting her with the promise of material gain.

"I've got work to do. Now please drop it." She sternly remarked, turning her attention away from the male towards the dishwasher where she checked on the settings to learn its mechanics while simultaneously brushing off his offer.

As the girl processed each one of their functions, she felt a cold presence lingering behind her like a dark figure with hidden intentions that remained unsettlingly obscure. Her reflexes forced her to swerve around to discover the identity of the unnerving form, forcing her to face the only other person that was in the room. Lilito stared down at her with an annoyed and daunting glare, his dark navy eyes calculating every detail of expression on her features as his body loomed at an invasive proximity over her shrivelling figure.

(Y/n)'s breath was caught in her lungs at the complete change in ambience over his attitude and the complete swap of his character in general. She tried to force on a dismissive smile to lighten the atmosphere, only making her uneasiness more prominent as the corners kept falling. "What's with the serious look? I wasn't trying to offend you or anything..." She tried to assure, only to be left in prolific silence to watch as the male's hand moved toward the counter by her side to close off one area of her freedom, limiting her to stare at the boy's behaviour.

"Don't ignore me when I'm being serious with you." His dulled out and level undertone explained with disquietening genuineness that was not masked behind any subtlety.

(Y/n) gulped as she felt the honest frustration behind his expressive distaste, urging her to look around herself to sedate his bitterness before a temporary solution came to mind. "Hey, alright. Let's make a deal." She informed him, escaping by pressing through the only gap he had allowed for her as she approached the refrigerator.

Lilito's arid gaze doubtfully drifted towards her direction where she joined him with an egg in hand. Grabbing a marked from one of the drawers, she quickly scribbled something down on the face of the egg before handing it to the male. Lilito confusingly looked down at the product that held a signature written on one side of its oval shape before looking up towards the girl for elaboration over the gift.

"If you can keep this egg from breaking until next week, I'll consider going out with you again." The male immediately perked up at the seemingly simple and easy request and carefully held onto the item of concern.

"Really? You'll go out if I just keep Eggy here safe?" He chirped with confident enthusiasm as he babied over the shelled food.

"Don't get too cocky. The conditions behind this is that you need to keep the egg on you at all times. You cannot just leave it out somewhere and neglect it." She reprimanded him, making him grumpily frown at the ultimatum before gently cuddling with the egg in his hands.

"I would never neglect our precious Eggy. So, this will get you to go out with me if I keep it safe?" He questioned with self-assurance, surprised at the simplicity of the conditions.

"I said I'll consider it." Her austere correction earned a coy smirk from the male in denial.

"That's a maybe. And maybe always means yes." He assured himself.

"It means I'll consider it." She irritably repeated before Lilito gave a dismissive shrug, cradling the egg in his cupped hands before sitting back down.

"This will be easy. Eggy will have a nice time with me and not a crack will appear on his precious shell." He cooed over the object as though it were his favourite new toy, earning a disinterested stare from the girl who could already see the product smashed to pieces in a matter of hours. Suddenly, Lilito looked towards her with a beguiling smile as a revelation settled in.

"What?"

"An egg. It's quite sentimental." He chuckled as the girl could already feel her stomach protesting at the memory.

"Ugh, don't remind me..." She complained before sitting herself down beside the gushing boy.

As the two seemed to settle themselves down in their own environment, the door to the kitchen opened once more to welcome unexpected company. "I told you I wanted to add that butterfly to my collection!" A frustrated and aggravated voice piped put, followed by a calming and serene one to soothe him.

"Well next time catch it before I intervene." Eban looked away from the shorter figure beside him to smile towards the two individuals already seated inside. "Good afternoon. Are you here for lunch as well?" He asked, approaching the pair while Gennai stood unmoving at one spot as he sent them a peeved, wide-eyed stare as he processed the image before him.

The male's brow crossed downwards as he closed in on the two. Lilito grinned at the new addition as he welcomed them. "Hey there. You're going to have to ask Chef what there is when he comes back. He said he'll be going down to the basement to find some herbs." He informed before turning back towards the girl and held the egg in a snark display. "You know, you might as well take me up on my request now, it going to be easy just holding this thing around and-"

As the male began teasingly taunting the female, his body was slightly pushed away and retracted as Gennai squeezed himself between the two, causing the egg to wobble in his hands. Cutting their conversation to a pause, he wedged himself as a barrier between (Y/n) and the male while the newcomer strictly gazed down, disgusted with even making eye contact with the talkative boy.

Lilito furrowed his brow at the action and break between him and the girl before portraying his annoyance in his passive commentary. "Hey, twerp: haven't you heard of personal space?" He complained to the boy, subsequently being responded with an ignorant turn away.

"Don't call me twerp..." Gennai responded before building up the decision to look over to the girl and exchange speech. "How was your time with Giovanni?" The female thoughtfully considered her appropriate response before giving an discountenanced smile.

"It could have gone better, but it was still fun." Gennai's expression neutralised as he seemed to be analysing through her information with calculative consideration. As he prepared to quiz her further, he felt a hand gently knocking on his head, causing his features to darken in irritation.

"Hey twerp, go be a good youngster and give me a glass of water." Lilito commanded the boy, managing to consequently get him to turn around and regard him with a hostile frown.

"My time isn't yours to waste. If you dehydrate, I'd watch you rot before lifting a finger to help." He bluntly stated, before turning back around to place his attention on the stunned girl, and keep hers on him.

Lilito's eye began rhythmically twitching with vexation before irritably glaring at the gull of the younger boy. "Gennai, don't be rude. Give him something to drink." Eban piped up between the three, surprising both boys at his instruction. Gennai prepared to protest, only to be given a calming smile from his sibling. "Gennai. Give him some water." Eban indicated towards the tap, earning a disgruntled frown from the boy as he pushed himself back out of his chair, causing the legs to squeak in friction of the wooden floor.

Lilito satisfyingly grinned before smiling towards the blond helper. "Haha, thanks Eban. You were always my favourite sibling." The male joked, earning a gladsome smile from the teenager in uestion, before leaning in towards the girl to close off the created space. "Anyway, so, where would you like to go out? Maybe you can take me to see a few of the locals sights. I heard there was a new restaurant opening up in your town-"

Lilito hissed and gasped out as he felt the coldness of a liquid drizzling the top of his head. (Y/n) stared in shock as she played witness of the golden eyed boy emptying a glass of water over the older male, causing him to clench his body from the sudden sensation of the invasive consistency. Lilito promptly jumped up, causing his chair to swing back and fall before turning around to face the apathetic intruder.

"What the hell?!" He growled towards the unfazed boy, being abruptly held back by his sibling before he could fully express his anger towards the aggravator. Eban held him tightly, pinning both his hands to the side as he put his arms circled around his body in a tranquillising embrace.

The blond proceeded to pour sedative whispers and claiming words into the irritated male's ear before the situation could escalate, right until uttering effectively chosen words that created the needed effect. "You don't want (Y/n) to see you like this." The incoherent mumble only registered through the irritated boy's perception as Lilito slowly loosened his tense muscles to gradually calm down. Eban retracted with a satisfied smile before moving towards his brother as the sufferer backed away with a bitter scowl.

Lilito walked back to his seat where he exasperatedly leaned his chin against his hand in frustrated irritancy right before feeling a material drape over his head. Looking up to trace the hands of the person working to dry his hair, he watched the girl gently ruffling around his locks to gather as much moisture as possible. The boy involuntarily smiled to himself as he pushed his scalp further against the female's palms to indulge in her warmth and attention.

Gennai watched the spectacle as his own blood began seething and boiling, turning his entire environment into shadows and inky colours that separated the pampered boy like a target. His illusion was quickly broken as he felt hands resting on his shoulders, looking up into the features of his calm brother.

"Gennai, are you ok?" The boy glared up at his sibling before defeatedly nodding his confirmation.

"I'm going...I'll settle this later." He finally stated before separating from the blond to walk out of the door, giving the girl and boy a final but inconclusive glare before leaving.

Eban watched as the door closed, glancing back, as soon as his family member had left, to look at the pair that were settling down after the incident. Watching as the sour charmer seemed to be replaying the scene in his mind with sour recollection before bringing on a goofy grin for the girl's sake. Watching as the girl shrugged the departed male's behaviour off as standard and unpredictably expected. 'Oh dear...' The blond humoured in his factoring mind, calculating and ciphering. 'Did I accidentally cause friction between two housemates?' He thoughtfully considered, right before mentally shrugging, playing the part of an unsuspecting bystander.
