Death is an awkward little sweetheart
At least, in Reaper Man by Terry Pratchett he is. As an example, he heard that phrase "Diamonds are a girl's best friend," and thought it meant actual friendliness and sweet cheese I love him.
Honestly, it's not hard to see why Terry was knighted for his writing. I've genuinely never loved a world, writing style, and possibly even characters so much before. His books are pure gold.
If you start reading his works though, don't do it in order. Even Terry himself said so. You've gotta find a book that speaks to you and start there. Most reccomend reading by character arcs, but I say just read whatever whenever because they're all enjoyable as stand-alones anyway.
