The Path to Above is a side story from my main series "The Ancients" and it takes place one thousand years before. So if you think you have to read this book first before reading the others, the answer is no, but it does help you get a better sense of the Four Realms and the events that already happened.

Here's a shortened synopsis:

Eraphim was betrayed by the Celestials and Fate when he broke a cardinal rule of magic and the natural order of beings.
