A loud thunderstorm woke Naina from her slumber , she looked around herself sleepily and saw the whole room in darkness , she then remembered she fall asleep waiting for Arjun , she got from the bed and looked towards clock it was past midnight.

Arjun must have returned by now she thought, she knows he won't woke her up if he finds her asleep as it will be a good chance for him to avoid giving her the ice cream, you are getting away Soo easily Mr.Arjun Naina thought with mischief smile.

As she started to walk towards her door another loud thunder erupted outside, Naina looked back towards her window, there was no rain but sky was covered in angry gloomy clouds making the night more darker.

Strange till few hours back the weather was good what happened suddenly there was no prediction in weather report to Naina thought frowning them shrugged.

She walked downstairs in silently to not wake her parents but was surprised seeing the whole house light up and her parents in the living room , her mother was sitting in the couch with her head in her hand and her father was looking like he was going somewhere but what worried her was their face , both of her parents face was white as chalk eyes red and she could see her mother fingers trembling.

She gulped she could feel something was very very off ," maa papa what happened." She asked despite her soft voice both of her parents visibly flinched, if it was possible their face paled some more.

"Naina...." Her mother started but she couldn't complete it she looked down, she didn't had the courage or strength to utter those words to her.

Naina looked at her mother her heart was beating rapidly, she looked at her father and demanded the truth through her eyes, she could feel something big was coming and she wanted Arjun besides her to hold her, to have her back.

Her father closed his eyes he knows hiding it from her won't do anything," Naina Arjun meet with a accident, and I m going to the hospital he is admitted by the........." Her father was saying but Naina just stared at him.

Her father looked at his daughter he knows how words will effect her but he didn't consoled her because if what he heard in the phone is true then Naina have to brace herself for the impact of the upcoming storm in her life.

Naina looked at her father then bursted out laughing shocking both of her parents," nice joke dad but I m not going to fall for this again and yes wherever that idiot is hiding and telling you to tell this to me tell him it not going to work again and he have to face more bigger punishment if he continues to do this." Naina said controlling her laugher, what did her parents think they could fool her again and again that to with this silly joke.

"Naina I m not joking Arjun meet with a accident, he.....his scooter collided with a truck , the driver was drunk...it was a hit and run case," her father told her controlling his emotions, because he knows his daughter is going to start the most painful phase of her life , but if only he knows that it was just the starting.

Naina's laughter died , the shine in her eyes were covered like dark clouds of Storm, nothing went to Naina ears , it was like for a moment she blacked out from the reality, her Arjun was in the hospital wasn't he there besides few hours back , he was supposed to be back to her right then how did he went to hospital, no no Naina papa must be having some misunderstanding maybe it was a minor accident and Arjun is playing a prank at you ....yes it is. Naina thought gulping her tears.

"I...I want to go with you, take me to him." She said her voice heavy from the emotions she was trying to control.

Her father eyes widened, he couldn't take her with him , Naina was always sensitive from hospital she could never stand the sight of blood and more than that he doesn't what is waiting for them there." No you don't have to go..." He said.

Naina stared in her father eyes and he was shocked seeing the desperateness in her eyes," either take me with you dad or I will go there myself somehow." She told there was no trace of joke in her voice no room of denying.

Her father sighed and then nodded.

As they walked inside the hospital Naina felt suffocated , there was some distance cry if anguish , hurried footsteps of shifting a patient. In the whole right Naina keep telling herself that he is okay he is only joking with her, she didn't let her thoughts run anywhere because she knows if it starts running then she won't be able to control herself and he will make fun of her.

Her father went to the receptionist and enquired about Arjun , after sometime he returned and went in the direction of the said room, the corridor of the room was empty as they neared the room some doctors and nurses come out of the room, her father went to them.

"Doctor we are the family of the patient, how is he, he is stable right." Her father said heart drumming in chest.

The doctor looked at them with sympathy," we are sorry but the patient expired, the accident was fatal , it inju......" The doctor saying something to her father but at that moment some else died to.

In that dark hour of night Naina Roy's soul died , she was breathing but just like a walking corpse her eyes stared numbly at the door of the room , as her feet slowly took her to inside the room. Her eyes fall on his beautiful face covered in bandages, the white shirt he was wearing in her birthday was drenched in the Scarlett of death, his always beautiful eyes refused to give her glance , the scarless dusky skin of his was filled with screeches and cuts.

She numbly sat beside him and slowly to hold his hand in her both , a sharp breath Excelled from her feeling the unusual cold in those warm hands , she numbly stared at him waiting for him to open his eyes and laugh at her tell how she fall for his jokes but he remained stubborn.

"A..A...Alju..Aljun." she breathed his name in a whisper but but he didn't smiled at her , he didn't hug her, he didn't called her Tara, he just remained in his everlasting peaceful sleep.

And as she didn't got any response her emotions and sense slowly ditched her , she blacked out from the reality, just sitting there like a death body holding his hand, what was she supposed to do cry but she didn't know how to cry , was supposed to feel pain but how will she feel it when her whole being was feeling numb was supposed to shout but how will she when her voice was lost somewhere , was she supposed to feel anger but at whom she should feel , was she supposed to feel heartbroken but to feel that you need a heart and she couldn't feel any heart inside her just a organ pumping blood.

Her father entered inside along with the doctor and police, the police said the driver was drunk and was arrested immediately , the scene he saw broke his already shattered heart, his daughter was sitting like a death body beside Arjun holding his both hand in her both like he will be taken away from her , he slowly walked to her and kept his hand on her shoulder but she didn't reacted her body was stiff, " Naina Beta ( dear) we have to take him for the last rites ,let's go." He told her controlling his own emotions though the tears fall from his eyes.

Seeing her not moving he slowly made her stand and started to slowly pull her away from him, their entwined slowly got separated from each as years of promise and dreams got broken in one single moment, in the dawn of the upcoming morning two souls got separated.

After completing the last rites of Arjun it was after when her father and few other relatives returned home, Naina was sitting numbly like a death body , her mother was crying in the arms of a woman while her father sat with one of the man.

The house which was buzzing with happiness just a night before was now in the darkness of mourning, the evidence of the last night celebration was still lingering in the house but the happiness was lost somewhere in burning ashes of his mortal body.

" Such a heartbeaking thing , just yesterday was her birthday and now this."

" The girl is Soo unlucky , such a inauspicious thing."

"This was bound to happen, the way they were committing sin , didn't you heard they both used to live in the same room alone in another city."

Many more venomous words were whispered which also reached Naina's ears but she didn't fought she didn't had the energy , for what would she fought , will arguing with them bring back her Arjun to her , will it change the reality , aren't in a way they were right, it was her fault she was the cursed one if she didn't sent him out then he would still be here today,with her.

Naina slowly stood up the crying and voice's around her were sounding like a faraway buzzing sound as she slowly walked up to her room, she shut the door of her room.

"And about me leaving you , I promise you that I will never leave your side no matter what, wherever Naina will be Arjun will be with her and wherever Arjun will be Naina will be with him."

And finally the tears fall one after another like the rain of a gloomy night , " You lied." She whispered in the silence of the room.

Rage erupted in her vain thinking about his broken promise," you lied, you lied, you lied." She keeps saying this, she throwed everything on her study table,

"You lied Arjun, you broke your promise." She keep saying this throwing everything on her room. Her eyes fall on his photo laying on ground with everything else, the frame was broken as few pieces of glass was on his face.

" Tara you brat .....you broke my photo , go I wont talk with you."

His voice rang in her ears , she slowly walked towards the broken frame and kneeled down there , she picked up the broken frame not feeling the Scarlett liquid dripping from her palm, the drops of pain fall from her eyes to his face ,

"You promised Arjun ,YOU PROMISED," she shouted, her shout anguish and pain shock the whole house, didn't changed the cruel reality a reality where he didn't exist anymore.

Her door opened and her parents stood shocked seeing her condition, she was sitting between all the broken scattered things , her body was shaking with silent sobs as tears streamed down her face , holding his broken frame in her while little drops of blood dripped from her hand.

Her parents rushed to her her mother took her one hand inspecting the injury but she remained aloof , the girl who used flinch from a paper cut was not sitting with blood dripping from her both hands .

Arjun died but he took his Tara with him.

Ok Soo this must be the most heartbreaking thing I wrote till now , my own heart broke will writing this chapter but for a beginning the end is necessary.

I hope I did justice with update.
