Chapter 11
A/N: I will be introducing another character who's not part of the LBC series in this chapter just to keep the story going, okay? Hope my readers won't mind.
Can's POV
In the end I decided not to disrupt Tin's physical therapy and hospital aftercare routines.
Good had called me earlier to follow up whether I was coming along to watch the much talked about action thriller that was showing in one of the movie theaters inside the nearby mall. He mentioned that his sister who was two years older than us was planning to watch the movie also and was giving us a ride in her car.
I told my parents that I was going out to watch a movie in the nearby mall. My parents were both okay with it except that my mom was shaking her head and complaining how in spite of the heavy downpour I had wanted to leave the house.
I was looking down from the upstairs veranda waiting for Good's sister to stop at our gate and when she did I made a dash for it.
"Can, this is my sister P'Wan," said Good after I settled in the back seat.
"Pleased to meet you P'Wan," I said holding out my hand, and she took it, "I'm sorry if I splashed a little bit of rainwater in your car."
"It's alright, Can," said P'Wan, "it will dry, so don't worry about it. This non-talkative brother of mine never mentioned that he has a very cute friend."
I blushed at the compliment.
"You are very lovely yourself," I decided to return the compliment. It was true anyway.
It was P'Wan's turn to blush.
When we reached the theater office box, I handed my money to P'Wan who was buying the tickets for us but she refused to take it. She said it was her treat.
"In that case, I'm going to take care of the snacks and drinks," I said.
Inside the movie house, Good and P'Wan sat on either side of me.
The movie was not just an action thriller. There were some comedy and romance parts thrown in as well. It was totally worth our time and money.
After the movie, P'Wan invited Good and me to the Food Court at the upper level of the mall. I was never one to say no to food and I eagerly accepted the invitation.
We decided to try the Italian food booth that was offering different kinds of pasta dishes.
I ordered the chicken Alfredo fettuccine while Can and P'Wan chose the spaghetti with meatballs dish. I offered to pay for the drinks but P'Wan firmly refused to let me pay.
We talked about the movie during our meal, what our favorite parts of the movie were and what parts we were not so happy with.
I said that I did not like how they made the romantic parts of the main leads hanging, how the audience had to guess whether they would end up together or not.
"Hmmm...I didn't know that you had a romantic streak in you," P'Wan teased me which made me blush a little.
Before Good and P'Wan dropped me off at my house, P'Wan said to me, "You are such a fun guy to be with. We should meet up again for some other activity some time, what do you think?"
"I would love that," I said before stepping out of the car.
Thankfully, the rain had stopped before we reached my house so I didn't get wet as I walked back into the house.
I greeted my mom and went upstairs to remove my hoodie that was still a little moist from the rain. As I did so, my phone fell out of my hoodie pocket.
I bent to retrieve it from the floor and noticed several missed calls from Tin.
Shit, I had forgotten to unmute my phone after we stepped out of the movie house.
