It was 3 am and my phone was blaring, rubbing my eyes I answered my phone.
"Hello," I said, still half asleep.
"It's Anastasia,"
I sat up, what was Alexander's sister doing calling me this late? "Anastasia I think you have the wrong number, this is Alessandra,"
"I know who it is, Alessandra. I need help, I think I drank too much and I need a ride, and please whatever you do, do not call Alexander. All he ever does is yell at me, sometimes I think he is more of my father than my brother,"
"Of course, anything for you. Give me ten minutes and text me the address," I said getting up and starting to get dressed. I knew I had to call Alexander, even though Anastasia told me not to, this was a phone call that would not end well.
The phone keep ringing and ringing. Finally he answered, "God damn it Alessandra you better have a hell of a reason to call me this late at night," he snapped.
"I didn't call you for fun you idiot. Ana called me,"
"Ana? Like my sister Anastasia?"
"Yes, you idiot. She said she had a little too much to drink and wanted me to pick her up,"
"Like hell you will, I'm going to pick her up myself,"
"No you will not, she called me. Atleast I told you, you pick me up and then I will give you the address,"
"Because it is 3 am and I am in no mood to argue with you, I will be there in 15 minutes,"
"Aww not arguing with me I see, we have come so far,"
"Shut up, I'm getting in the car now,"
I sat on my stairs, everything was so calm at this time of night. I could hear a car approaching, I grabbed my sweater and stood outside in the freezing cold for Alexander.
Alexander pulled up in front of me and beckoned for me to get inside.
"Where is my sister?" He demanded.
"1455 Orchard Avenue,"
Before I could've even put on my seatbelt Alexander stepped on the gas.
"Slow down, before the cops pull us over,"
"Do you have to talk? Can we not drive in silence?"
"Fine, I won't talk to you,"

Alexander screeched to a halt in front of a high mansion, there were kids everywhere. Music echoed from inside the house.
Alexander got out of the car and slammed the door.
"Ana?" He yelled like an agitated parent.
"You realize that Ana is your sister not your daughter, she is old enough to take care of herself. Let me call her,"
I dialed Anastasia's number.
"Hello who is this," she slurred. She must've drank more since the last time she called me.
"It's me, Alessandra. Where are you?"
"I'm back by the pool," in the background I heard giggling and splashing.
"I'm coming,"
"Bye Adrienne,"
I didn't bother correcting her, there was no point.
"She is back by the pool,"
Alexander started running toward the back of the house.
"Wait I can only run so fast in this heels," I said complaining.
"Well whose stupid idea was it to wear those ridiculous things anyway?"
The pool was crowded, there were people everywhere. The place reeked of alcohol.
"Hey baby, want to get some?" A greasy teen slurred trying to grab my arm.
"She's with me," Alexander said yanking my arm. Seeing Alexander's well built 6 foot 2 inch frame the teen immediately slinked back into the crowd.
"Anastasia," I said running over to her, she was almost passed out on a lawn chair.
"Adrienne, you made it! Come join me," Anastasia slurred pulling me into the lawn chair.
"Anastasia, how could you be so stupid?" Alexander yelled.
"Alexander, stop yelling at her. This is why she didn't want you to know,"
"She is my sister, and who are you to her? You are no one,"
"Clearly I'm someone because she decided to call me and not you," I said glaring at him, he glared right back.
Anastasia giggled, "You both are so cute, pretending to fight to cover up your real feelings,"
"She's drunk she doesn't know what she is talking about," Alexander stated. For once I didn't argue and just nodded.
"Ana lets go," I said grabbing her arm trying to pull her up, she swayed and fell back onto the lawn chair.
"A little help here?" I demanded, while I was trying to get Anastasia up, instead of helping Alexander stood there smirking.
"I thought I wasn't supposed to be here," he said innocently.
"Just help me,"
"I will help you if you admit that I am supposed to be here,"
"Not everything is about you Alexander, we are here to help your sister,"
"Say it,"
"Fine, you are supposed to be here,"
"Music to my ears," with that Alexander helped pull Ana up and balancing her in between us , we slowly made it to the car. We gently placed Ana in the backseat and we both slid into the front. Ana was already sound asleep.
"I know you probably are not going to listen to me but I am going to tell you anyway. Anastasia didn't call you tonight because she feels like you act more like her father than her brother,"
"You are right, I am not going to listen to you. You don't even know my sister and you are trying to give me advice?"
"I am just trying to help you, I don't want what happened to me to happen to you and Anastasia,"
"Happened to you?" he asked.
I froze, I didn't even realize I had let something slip.
Laughing he said, "Another secret? Why am I not surprised?"
I was shocked, he didn't pressure me any further, he let the subject drop.
"I'm sure you have secrets too," I said turning to face him.
"Yes, but not as many as you seem too,"
He didn't say anything but swiftly changed the topic, "My parents will be so angry if they find out Anastasia was drinking. Help me carry her to the back, we have to sneak her in,"
Sighing, I helped Alexander carry Anastasia to the back of the Markos Mansion. We gently placed her on the grass.
"Now what?" I said impatiently, it was already 4 am, I was losing all my precious beauty sleep.
"Now you crawl through that window that Ana left open,"
"Why exactly am I climbing through a window?"
"Once you get into her room, you can open this back door, the alarm isn't trigger when someone from inside the house opens the door. After you open the door we can carry Ana up to her room,"
"All this so your parents don't find out she was drinking. You really love her, the cold hearted man has a heart," I simpered.
"What exactly do you mean by cold hearted man?"
"Nothing," I said with a knowing smile.
"Just get to the open window, we are wasting precious time,"
"Why me," I complained.
"Does it look like my slender body could fit through the window?" He said sarcastically.
"Fine but you realize the window is on the second floor how am I supposed to get up there?"
"Isn't it obvious? You climb up the trellis and then reach up to the window,"
"You have got to be kidding me. I am not climbing any damn trellis. Just tell your parents Ana was drinking,"
"First, lower your voice Alessa, you will wake up my parents and that is exactly what we are trying to avoid. Second, if you don't recall I have some information on you that exposes your whole gold digging business,"
"Here," I said taking off my heels and thrusting them at Alexander.
I gripped one of the beams with both of my hands, I then wrapped my legs around it. Slowly I began to shimmy up the beam. I reached the top, the lattice structure of the beams made it easy for me to stand up without falling.
"The window," Alexander called from the ground.
"I know," I whisper yelled back.
When I stood up the window was the perfect height, I easily slid through the window. I let out a sigh, I was alive. I froze in the doorway, I had no idea how to get downstairs. I was lost in the Markos Mansion!
