Chapter 24 | The Proof

Ron's eyes flicked open, scanning his surroundings. "Am I dead?" He exclaimed, eyes watering.

"Shut up," Syville's voice told him. "You're not dead,"

Ron looked around and spotted Syville and Eclipse in front of the control panel. He was back in the basement with the D-T 2.0. Ron had somehow managed to escape.

"I pulled you out," Eclipse told him. "I was getting readings that you were in a dimension I had never gotten data on before so I left you there for a bit before your heart rates began to get too high and I pulled you out," The inventor distanced himself from the control panel and went down the ladder leading to the D-T's portal frame. "Where did you go, anyways?"

"Syville here," Ron glared at him. "messed with the controls and somehow sent us to the acromad dimension,"

"Acromad dimension? I thought that was only in fairy tales?" The Keeper exclaimed, walking to the portal and tinkering with it a bit.

"Apparently not," Syville said. "and just so you know, I didn't press a single button. I just looked at it and the portal began to suck us in as it was charging up,"

"Show me my parents, Syville!" Ron exclaimed. "You said you could prove that I was adopted, so do it!"

The doctor rolled his eyes. "We will have to go back to Dimension Prime for that, which we obviously can't do right now,"

"There's a giant portal right behind us, Syville!" Ron cried. "By not showing me, you're only making me think that this is all some big plot to kidnap me or something!"

"Ron, I've already shown you that dimensional transportation is possible, what more do you want to know? Eclipse probably doesn't want us using his portal again anyways,"

"Not a problem," Eclipse happily told them. "I'm always glad to help you with anything you need,"

Syville shot him a glare as he sighed. "Fine. We need to go to the First Dimension, please,"

"I like your manners!" Eclipse winked at him, Syville rolling his eyes and crossing his arms. The Keeper climbed back up the ladder after messing with the frame and pressed a few buttons on the controls. The thing began to heat up, but because it was previously heated it didn't take long for it to go. The same blue substance appeared in the frame, swirling in circles and pulling at the Keepers' clothing once again, but not as forcefully as last time.

Ron glared at Syville as the doctor walked and stood beside the boy who was in front of the portal frame.

"Do you actually have evidence?" Ron asked him doubtfully.

"I wouldn't take you back if I didn't," Syville said, jumping into the portal. Ron sighed as he let his legs push him into the blue substance inside the portal frame.

Darkness didn't engulf him this time. Ron was floating through a stream of blue, a path that connected the portal to the First Dimension. There was no gravity and a pure white light was at the end of the tunnel. Ron air-swam towards it, propelling his body with his arms. When he was near it, he extended his arm and stretched as far as he could, the tip of his finger just barely scraping against it. The light grew brighter until it engulfed him, locking him inside of the First Dimension until Eclipse decided otherwise.

Ron awoke in Syville's hidden basement that connected to his office. His phone was vibrating as soon as he got back and had a signal, Ron wondering how it was still on. He swore he saw it die when he was on the helicopter.

Syville towered over him, tapping his foot. "Come on, we have no time to waste," He told him.

"How is this dimension not destroyed?" The boy asked, standing up and following the doctor out of the secret basement.

"It's the main dimension," Syville explained. "Acromads are more hesitant with this one because this is the dimension that connects them all. This is Dimension Prime and if they get this one, they get them all. They have to prepare a large force for it and cannot fail at all costs,"

The doctor sat himself in his chair behind his desk, brushing the little amount of dust that had accumulated over the past three days. He slid his monitor over in front of his face, blocking Ron from his view with it.

His fingers typed away on the keyboard, looking up information in the hospital's documents. When he found what he needed, he turned the monitor around to the boy.

On the screen was a list of patients registered with Syville's hospital. On the middle of the screen, it read:

『    RANDELL  A. BURNICK, DECEASED

         VANESSA  C. BURNICK, DECEASED

RON P. BURNICK, ALIVE – ADOPTED

          UNDER KINBU R                                                                            』

"This is how I knew who you were, Ron," Syville told him with a serious face. "I made up none of this. You are the last hope. You are the chosen one, Ron,"
