As soon as Ravenblaze and Owlpatch walked into the island, Owlpatch went to his mate. As he left he cast a swift sheepish glance at Ravenblaze. Ravenblaze just shook his head, purring, and went over to the deputy's rock ledge. Echoshade was already there. Ravenblaze leaped up and lay down on his back on the cool flat stone, trying to act as lazy and relaxed as he normally was. "Hey, Ravenblaze." She formally greeted him. The fluffy grey she-cat was always formal. "Sup , Echoshade." Ravenblaze replied casually.  Then blazestar-the Flameclan leader- called out to all the cats. "It's time to begin the gathering! I'll start. Our clan is strong and we have new apprentices, Goldpaw, Maplepaw, and Duskpaw." She stepped down, finished.
Glacierstar took his place. "We have a queen at home kitting now, so we should have kits by the end of the night." She started. Ravenblaze never heard the rest of the speech, as he was racing out of the island. He had heard a scream from his home. He new who it was. Appleheart.
