Chapter 9

I didn't know what to say. My head was screaming 'yes!' but I didn't feel comfortable telling him that. I swallowed hard and tried to come up with an excuse not to answer his question.

"Um..." I managed.

"Um?" he gave me a half smile.

"I don't know," I said, hoping that was a good enough answer.

He glanced down at my mouth a couple times and then met my eyes again."Do you wanna kiss me now...?" he whispered.

What the hell am I supposed to say to that?!

"I... um..." I mumbled.

I found myself looking at his lips and then back to his eyes. He leaned in closer.

"You can push me away..." he whispered.

I don't know why, but I didn't push him away. I didn't say anything. I didn't move. I didn't stop him at all. He looked to me one more time for assurance and then I felt our lips touch. Suddenly I was glad I didn't push him away. The kiss was slow and romantic. He pulled away and took a deep breath, looking at the ground.

"W-was that... okay?" he muttered, looking back to me.

I didn't answer. Instead, I rested one hand on his shoulder and another on his waist.

"Tyler..." I whispered and closed the gap between us.

This time the kiss was more needy and passionate. He pressed me harder against the door as our lips moved together in sync. I tangled my fingers in his hair. His hand slid down my side and rested on my hip. To say the least, I was in heaven here. Sparks, fireworks, atomic bombs, you name it, were going off in my head as we kissed. I didn't want it to end. Eventually he pulled away breathing heavy.

"That was more than okay," I smiled.

He returned the smile and then stepped back to open my door for me.The drive back to the city wasn't as long as the drive away this morning since there wasn't near as much traffic now that it was night and Tyler decided to speed more. I sat in the middle seat of the truck cuddled up to Tyler with his arm around me the whole time. I fell asleep on his shoulder and he nudged me awake when we pulled up to the hotel. I looked at the clock on the dash. It was just after 1AM. I looked up at Tyler and he gave me a loving smile.

"You fell asleep," he said, pushing my hair out of my face. "C'mon, let's get up."

I wrapped an arm around his stomach as he moved to open the door causing him to leave it shut. I gripped his shirt and cuddled against his body.

"I don't wanna go," I mumbled, breathing in the scent of his cologne.

"I know baby," he whispered, stroking my hair. "But we have to."

I was too tired to pester him about it so I followed him out of the truck and stayed cuddled into his side as we walked into the hotel. He kept his arm wrapped around me and I closed my eyes, letting his movements guide me to the elevators. I didn't open my eyes til we got off the elevator. The floor was silent and I figured everyone went to bed a couple hours ago. We walked back to my room and stood in front of the door just looking at each other.

"Thank you for today," I smiled. "I had a really great time."

"So did I. Maybe we can do it again sometime."

"Are you free tomorrow?" I suggested.

"Are you asking?" he smirked.

"If you want to..." I trailed off.

"I want to," he smiled and leaned in to kiss me.

It was a quick kiss but it was sweet. I didn't wanna stop kissing him but I was dead tired. We broke apart and he had a goofy grin on his face. He glanced down the hall and then pushed his bangs back.

"How's nine thirty sound?" he offered.

"Perfect," I smiled.

Naturally right then the door opened.

"You're late."

"Cameron..."

"Say goodnight," Cameron said in a stern voice.

"Um, I guess I should be going..." Tyler muttered. "See you tomorrow."

"Goodnight..." I said, watching him walk down the hall to his room.

I turned back to Cameron who didn't look very pleased. He closed the door behind us and walked back to bed.

"Anything you wanna tell me?" he asked, staring at the ceiling.

"No..."

"You were out passed one. You never answered my calls or texts. I was ready to send out a search party for you!"

"I'm sorry. I didn't even look at my phone today," I replied, climbing into bed. "I don't wanna fight tonight."

He breathed out. "Okay... I'm sorry." He rolled over to face me and gave me a half smile."I just really love you," he said, leaning down to kiss me.

That's when I realized I fucked up. Big time. I cheated on Cameron. Feelings of guilt and regret washed over me. I had to tell Tyler I couldn't be that close with him... no matter how badly I wanted to.

"I love you too," I whispered, choking back tears.

Cameron fell asleep within a few minutes and I just laid there thinking about the mess I'd created. It felt like forever until I finally started to doze off. Then all too soon I was awakened by yelling.

"Oh you've gotta be kidding! That wasn't even in the schedule!"

I laid in bed for an hour surfing the internet on my phone and listening to Cameron yelling at his band's tour manager over video chat. Apparently there was a schedule mix up and they might have to leave New York a day early to fly back to California for a couple shows. I didn't see what the big deal was. I had schedule mix ups all the time with my shows and I just said okay and rolled with it but for some reason he was super pissed.

It was getting close to time for Tyler to come get me and I couldn't stop thinking about last night. It was the most awkward thing for Cameron to open the door and see us standing out there basically flirting and I still felt extremely guilty about kissing Tyler. Sure he started it... but I didn't stop it. I had never ever cheated on anyone before. I never even thought about it! I didn't like the idea of cheating and I never in a million years would've thought I'd do it, especially to Cameron of all people. We've been discussing marriage for God sake! And I had to go and do this.

The biggest problem I had with the situation though was that when I was with Tyler yesterday, I completely forgot about Cameron. He never even crossed my mind until we got back to the hotel. I was so focused on how amazing Tyler is that I didn't even realize what I was doing or that I shouldn't be doing it. The worst part is... I didn't want it to stop.

"No, I don't want to! I don't care who pays for it! Do you not understand what a schedule kink means for me?! I have other things to do with my life you know!" Cameron shouted.

I decided I'd finally had enough of listening to this and figured I'd just go find Tyler. I thought at least I could avoid Cameron's pissed off ass and the sooner I see Tyler, the sooner I can tell him we can't be doing this. One thing I didn't understand was why Tyler made a move anyway. He knew I'm dating Cameron and he and Cameron are supposed to be friends. Maybe it just totally slipped his mind too. Maybe he just got caught up in the moment...

"Cam, I'm leaving!" I yelled, opening the door to leave.

"Okay," he said, not looking away from his computer.

"Love you!"

"Love you too."

I wandered down the hall til I found Tyler's room and knocked. I heard some rustling around and David yelling "just a sec!" A few seconds later David answered the door and a huge grin appeared on his face when he saw me. He gestured for me to step inside.

"Hey," he smiled. "What's up?"

"Just thought I'd come find Tyler since it's about time for us to go," I said. "I have nothing else to do."

"He's still in the shower I think," he said, leaning slightly to look at the bathroom door.

"Well I can just harass you then," I laughed.

He chuckled. "Yeah, well, I'd say sure but I've gotta meet up with the guys in the lobby. We're going sightseeing again. Otherwise, I'd love for you to harass me," he smiled, grabbing his jacket.

"Okay. Is it cool if I just chill here and wait for Tyler?" I asked, looking around the room at the big mess the boys had made.

"I don't see why not."

"Olivia?" I heard Tyler say as the bathroom door opened behind me.

I turned to see Tyler standing in the doorway with only a towel hanging low around his waist. His hair was soaked. His bangs were falling in his face and I couldn't help noticing the water droplets running down his chest and stomach. I unintentionally gave him a once over and mentally slapped myself for thinking he was hot. He just stood there leaning against the doorframe. David cleared his throat.

"Well," David laughed uncomfortably. "I'll be going then. See you dorks later!"

With that, he left the room and I stood there awkwardly trying to look anywhere but Tyler. It was kinda difficult. Tyler cleared his throat and walked back into the bathroom, closing the door halfway behind him. I wandered over to his bed and sat down trying to focus on the muted TV but I kept glancing back at the bathroom door. I heard the hair dryer sound off for a minute or two and then out walked Tyler, shirtless again, but at least this time he had jeans on and was dry.

"I thought I was supposed to go get you?" he said with a confused look, digging through his suitcase for a shirt.

I couldn't help staring at him since he was half naked. But then again, it was hard not to look at him no matter how he was dressed. He was just a damn good looking guy.

"Well Cameron's kinda pissed off this morning and I had nothing else to do so I figured I'd just come find you. I didn't expect you to be naked though," I laughed awkwardly.

"Yeah," he turned to face me with a smirk, pulling a shirt over his head. "What was that?"

"What was what?" I asked, not sure what he was talking about.

He nodded toward the bathroom. I cocked an eyebrow and he chuckled.

"What?" I laughed.

He leaned against the desk, still smirking. "You were totally checking me out."

"Oh shut up," I grinned, trying to act like it was nothing.

"You were," he smiled.

"I was not," I said, sticking my tongue out at him.

"I wouldn't do that if I were you," he said, looking to my mouth.

"Why?"

"Oh nothing," he winked and walked back into the bathroom.

A few seconds later he came back into the room, buckling his belt and grabbing his phone. I don't know why watching him buckle his belt was attractive to me.

"Ready?" he smiled.

"For the past hour," I laughed and followed him out the door.

We ended up walking down the street from the hotel to a little Chinese restaurant that he said was really good. I didn't usually eat Chinese for breakfast but I hadn't had orange chicken in awhile and I was mega hungry. We mostly ate in silence. It was a comfortable silence though. I watched people walking by outside and tried to think of a cool place I hadn't been to in New York City. I really wasn't familiar with NYC. I had been all over the city and seen basically every aspect of the sightseeing category but I couldn't give you directions or anything. I didn't even know how to get to the highway or airport from our hotel.

"What are you thinking about?" Tyler asked, looking up from his almost finished food.

"Nothing," I shrugged. "Just trying to think of a place I haven't been to in New York. I wanna go sightseeing but I can't think of anything I haven't already seen."

Tyler frowned and put on his thinking face. "What if we just go shopping in Times Square or something?"

"Eh. I'm not really feeling like shopping today." I made a face.

"Okay..." he thought for a minute. "Wait. I've got it!"

"What?"

He smirked. "You'll see."

I gave him a weird look but didn't question it. We walked back to the hotel to get his truck and then hit the highway to wherever he had in mind. I wasn't going to tell him cause I didn't want him to feel bad, but I really hated when people wouldn't tell me where we're going or what we're doing. It was a big pet peeve of mine. That and when people misspell my name. Ugh. But I kept quiet.

He took an exit to a more narrow highway that seemed to wrap around the entire city in a big oval. We made a half circle around the never ending skyline until he turned onto a regular road. We drove for a few minutes and I noticed there weren't many people around this area of town. We were to the east of downtown and the road went up a hill where I could see a fantastic view of the ocean. I was never a fan of the beach around New York but I had to admit that was pretty. I really wasn't much of a beach person at all. I occasionally liked going to Santa Monica and Fort Myers but after last summer's vacation to Ireland, I just haven't cared for beaches in the US much anymore. I didn't think anything could compare to the beaches in Ireland. It was one of the most beautiful sights I'd ever seen.

Tyler drove off into the sand and parked under some trees.

"The beach?" I asked, opening my door.

He walked around the truck to meet me. "Not the beach you're thinking of."

I gave him a confused look and followed him through the line of trees and onto the beach. Looking around, I noticed there was literally no one out here. It was just us two and the waves. I'd never seen a beach around New York that wasn't loaded with people. This was surprising and really pretty. Tyler plopped down in the sand a few feet from the water and laid on his back. I sat down next to him and looked out over the water. It was beautiful. I realized why I wasn't such a fan of the other US beaches I'd been to. They were always crowded. This was relaxing and it was awesome to have the beach to ourselves. This obviously wasn't the regular beach that everyone went to. It was just a sliver hidden away behind the trees but it was perfect.

"You seem to have a knack for finding beautiful places to hang out," I said, smiling at the sight before me.

"I get tired of the city life. I spend too much time in Manhattan so when I get free time, I just wander around looking for something calm to get away from everything," he sighed, closing his eyes.

He started doing the motions of making a snow angel in the sand. I guess you'd call it a sand angel. I found it adorable the way he had a smile on his face and his eyes closed the whole time. He laid there still for a minute or two before sitting up and shaking the sand from his hair. He leaned over, drawing a smiley face in the sand and peaked up at me through his bangs with a lopsided grin.

"What?" I smiled.

"Nothing," he said, straightening up and crossing his legs.

I laid back against the sand and closed my eyes, enjoying the feeling of the warm sun on my face and the cool breeze off the ocean passing over me. I felt the sand to the side of me shift slightly as he laid back down next to me. Then I felt a hand on my stomach. I didn't open my eyes and I tried to hide the grin that was forcing it's way onto my face along with a strong urge to giggle. I could feel his finger drawing designs on my stomach and then he laughed lightly.

"You're a goof," I grinned, still keeping my eyes closed.

"Why do you say that?" he chuckled, moving slightly closer to me.

"You just are," I smiled. "You're adorable."

"Oh?"

I opened my eyes to see him laying on his side looking down at me with his hand resting on my stomach. I smiled up at him and he started laughing.

"What are you up to weirdo?" I laughed.

"Oh I'm a weirdo?" His grin got bigger.

"Yes," I smiled.

"Well you know what I think?" he smirked.

"What?"

That's when the tickle fight began.
