Eighteen-year-old Scarlett Hatherley has just graduated from high school with her boyfriend of four years, Fritz Morceaux, but things are not all as they seem. At the graduation party, Scarlett catches Fritz with her greatest frenemy, Cassandra Bloomington, in a compromising position, and promptly breaks up with him. Sixteen-year-old Rose Radcliffe has it all: A nice house; decent spending money; parents who love her enough to buy her anything; an older brother, Luke, who would do anything to protect her; a best friend, Elizabeth, that she can tell anything to; and straight-A's.
