Quiet each time I remain,
too scared to voice myself,
and the world took me for a ride.

One fine day,
I finally snapped,
and spoke my mind with great pride.

Ever since then,
people no longer took me for granted,
and my diffidence ebbed away
with the flowing tide.

Life's now good,
not unlike a sweet berry,
even though a little exasperating
but still cool on the side.
