I raised my head to the tall man in front of me. His face was strong and wise. He had dark eyebrows in a straight line above his cold blue eye. Midnight black hair draped over his left eye, along with a healthy, warm complexion.

He was stunning! He wasn't really my type, but I would change that if he wanted me to. He had enough muscle to be visibly strong, but not overly big. His posture was tall and confident. He wore a black sweater with the latter jeans, and it gave him an aesthetic I can't even name. He looked down at me, and I got red all over again. His cold blue eye color glared down at me, and it was breathtaking. He was so dreamy, it was dangerous. I breathed a bit shakily, letting his attractiveness sink in.

"Are you alright?" He asked once more.

"Gorgeous..." I muttered.

"Excuse me?" He kneeled down, bringing his flawless figure closer to mine.

"I-I mean- I'm fine! Fine!" I smiled nervously, shrinking into my shoulders. He examined my face, parting his smooth, light rose lips. I pressed my tongue to the roof of my mouth, avoiding the cold blue stare of the specimen in front of me.

"That's relieving. Are you my roommate?" He inquired, pulling me up by my slightly damp palms. I stepped back after he brought me to my feet, clasping my hands behind me.

"Ehe...yes...I believe so." I breathed, leaning into my heels. He nodded and stepped past me. I covered my eyes, cooling my face down before turning around.

"Your room's the first one down the hallway if you were wondering." He said, leaning on the countertop. I flashed an awkward smile before picking up my backpack from the pearly floor.

"A-alright. Thank you." I said.

"Wait." I whipped around to face him, still feeling red on my cheeks, "What's your name?"

"Er-Um...it's...uh...Alfredo-I mean Andren! My name's Andren Thompson!" I stuttered.

He turned his head to lay his strikingly blue eye on me. "Rin Azuma."

He sent chills through my spine. Rin. I remembered what Maya said. He's one of the five. But it could never be him. Maya made a mistake, didn't she? I mean, no troublemaker I've met can look so gorgeous without effort. Literally, you could probably get some sort of attack if you looked at him for too long.

I nodded and smiled anyway, acting normal. Rin didn't smile in return. Instead, he walked over and slid two bobby pins in my hair. They didn't hold my bangs up the way they had previously, but my face still became hot again.

"I noticed them on the ground, near the door. You might want to be a little more careful." Rin told me in his deep, sensual voice.

"U-uh-huh...got it! It was nice meeting you Rin!" I briskly replied before nodding a goodbye and walking to my room. I could almost feel that cold stare follow me until I went around the corner.

I reached the room and sighed, collapsing onto the cloud of a bed. I had no time to flaunter over how comfortable it was, I had to text Maya.

Andren: ...M?

I waited anxiously to see Maya's avatar pop up to show she read the message. The cute custom-made character looked almost exactly like her. It had Maya's warm caramel skin with her dark brown hair. Recently, she changed it so it had bangs for more accuracy. Maya wasn't too risky with her hair. She always kept it as soft as an angel's tear, and knot free. So I was shocked when she met at our favorite cafe, adorning freshly cut bangs. It looks stunning on her, obviously, but I never thought she'd do that. I stared at her avatar changing poses for a moment before giggling at myself.

"Ka-wa-ii..." I muttered. It seems a bit strange, but I tend to pick up random words in different languages. I know how to say 'Breathtakingly attractive' at least four different ways. Thank Maya, again. I can't tease her too much, my Spanish is pretty accurate because of her. Now I can hold a conversation with her family. They immigrated here from Spain after they had Maya's second oldest brother. Maya was born in Virginia, which is where her folks live now. Maya moved to N.Y.C at eighteen, to pursue her dreams of running a classy restaurant. I think she'll strive. She's so fun to talk to, and works so hard. I can only wish her the best.

Maya: Did you already get into trouble? Do I need to go knock some teeth outta someone?

Andren: Ack! Maya! No! Nonononono! I was just gonna ask something.

Maya: I'm messing with you Alfredo. What's the scoop?

Andren: ...more about Rin?

Maya: Ooh, digging! Juicy ;)

Andren: Maya!

Maya: Alright, alright. I couldn't get much on him. Everyone seems scared of him. Some guy told me he has a pretty nasty scar through his left eye though. He's like...6' 8", I think they said? Idk he doesn't seem too bad to me, but it might be better to avoid him.

"Of course. Of course! Now I'm roommates with a hot guy that I can't talk to!" I face smacked and looked back at our conversation.

Andren: 6' 8"...6' 10" sounds about right....

Maya: ...what

...

"WHAT!?" Maya screamed into her coffee, throwing her hands into the air.

"You mean to tell me you're roommate is Rin Azuma!? I gave you one job, Andren! One. Job!" She continued. People began to stare at our umbrella covered table, so I flushed an embarrassed red and sipped my banana smoothie. This was our favorite café, Rosey Mocha. We came here every day at the same time. It's a light pink building, with comforting colors inside, and the friendliest employees.

"I know, Maya! It's a problem!" I started,"But there's another thing..."

Maya gave me a look before pinching the bridge of her nose, "Oh god Andren, what?"

"He's. Gorgeous." I said. "Like, he's beautiful. You don't understand how freaking attractive he is! He's the definition of hot. It annoys me! Like, he's not even trying and he's literally one of hottest guys I have ever seen."

Maya rolled her eyes.

"He can't be that ho-" She stopped as a hand pressed against my shoulder. I trailed my eyes from the fingernails to his face. It was a boy. He was average in height, and blonde with an expensive looking style. His eyes were a sickening green, and his skin pale.

"Hey Andren." He said. I turned my look to a glare before responding.

"Hello, Paris."

"I heard you got into Juniper. Are you joining Delphine's partnership?" He asked. I nodded, pulling my smoothie closer to me.

Paris smiled and took his hand off of my shoulder. He wiped it on his pant leg and walked over to the center of our table.

"Great. I hope you're in my division." Paris glared and walked off.

"Let's go to my dorm, Maya." I said, following Paris' overdramatic strut until I lost him in the New York crowd.

I walked with Maya back to Juniper, learning all of the latest gossip on my favorite celebrities. She seemed to get a bit anxious when we reached my room.

"Maya, one thing."

"Hm?" She said, glancing at me.

"If he's here, don't be weird. Okay?" I felt a bit desperate at this point. Maya nodded and slipped the key in its lock, kicking the door open. We stepped inside, making our way to the living room. I opened the red curtains to the sliding door, letting the peachy sunlight soak into my skin. Maya sat on the couch, crossing one leg over the other. She glanced at my half-filled smoothie cup.

"Can I have some of that?" She asked.

"Go ahead, I probably won't finish it." I sat, pulling my sweatshirt closer.

Soon enough, as we were in the middle of discussing Freya Riding's last concert, the one and only stepped into the room.

Rin.

I automatically felt my face heat, turning my head toward the coffee table.

"...Hello." He muttered in his honey-coated voice.

"Hey. I'm Maya, Andren's friend." Maya casually mentioned. Maya turns the attention to other people when she's nervous. She knew I was right. She knew it, but she didn't want to admit her defeat just yet.

"It's nice to meet you Maya. I'm Rin. I assume Andren already told you?" I shivered at Rin's mention of my name. He let it roll off his tongue like it was nothing, but it echoed in my mind. I slowly turned even more scarlet than I had been before.

This is an issue, obviously.

"Anywho, Andren, I was wondering if you would try an experiment of mine." Rin said, leaning into the couch to get closer to me. I shrunk into myself to get farther away.

"Go on Alfredo, he's been waiting for you." Maya said, taking a sip of the smoothie.

"O-okay..." I stood up, making sure to step on Maya's foot on my way back. She bit her tongue as I made my way to the kitchen. Rin set out a spoon and took a bowl from the kitchen. It had a dough-like substance in it, but it was colored beautifully. I watched his eyes trail over to the spoon and scoop up some of it.

"Are you allergic to anything, Andren?" Rin asked.

"No, I can eat anything." I responded. Rin nodded and held the spoon out for me. I decided I couldn't risk touching him and took my bite with the spoon still in his hand. Flavor exploded in my mouth like a passionate fire. It was sweet, yet cinnamon nipped at my tongue. My senses seemed to kick alive once I swallowed the treat.

"What is it?" I asked, looking into the bowl.

"It's a persimmon frosting, with cinnamon and a few drops of bourbon." Rin started, "I've never really used persimmon, so I decided to toy around with it."

"Interesting...can Maya try some?" I glanced at Rin. He nodded and Maya walked over. Rin offered another spoon, letting her take it. She muttered a thanks and tasted the frosting.

"Oh my god...muy bien Rin! This is great!" Maya gawked. Rin slid a piece of hair behind his ear and began to put the frosting away.

"Thank you both. I take the feedback to heart."

He also seems to take everyone else's heart with him. I'm trying to hold on, so he's kind of...dragging me along with it.

Sooner than later, Maya left (With my smoothie, may I add), and I was once again stuck with Rin Azuma. The silent, tall, sexy being.

"Andren?" I quickly jumped to attention.

"Y-yes!?" Rin looked at me with a look that made me feel as if I was melting.

"Was that girl a vampire? You said her name...Maya?" Rin asked.

I felt the urge to avoid the question, but shook my head nonetheless. "Nope, most of my friends are human."

Rin's face morphed into a confused stare. My hands began to shake, acknowledging the once again, attractive look.

"Then why do you smell like you've been near a vampire? You have a strong demon scent, and then on top of that, flowers. So I'm guessing that you are a demon, and you're wearing perfume?"

My eyes widened from shock. He was basically accurate! Although I didn't understand how he could smell it. I can smell blood types, but that doesn't evaluate the species. Blood is blood. However, I can differ personality types through blood. How someone acts can change a bitter tasting type sweet, and vise versa.

"Wow...you're good. But I'm a part vampire and demon. I really do like perfume as well. My favorite is 'Hidden Secret's' Pink Fade." Rin thought for a moment and nodded.

The room soon turned quite awkward with neither of us talking. I clasped my hands together, beginning to fidget. Rin looked at me.

"Andren?"

"Rin?" I bit my bottom lip, a bit anxious.

"Have we met before?"

Those words echoed in my mind. Of course we'd never met before, but the way he said it made it seem like I should say yes. I smiled and shook my head.

"N-no, I believe I'd remember someone like you." Rin weighed that thought and nodded. He gave me a small smile before walking into a separate room. My eyes followed him as he walked out and I started thinking about him. His smile seemed warm and friendly, even with his "dangerous" aspects. His body type mentioned he looked fast and able to lift things easily. Honestly, he could pursue any career with ease. He had the strength to be a phenomenal dancer. But would he have the stamina? He could join the military too. Not that I would want him too. I've heard the trauma of those experiences is unbearable. Nobody should have to have the kind of PTSD that I do.

Even with his physical aspects, what about his mental state? Or his personality? He seems like a sweet guy. But how would I know? Everyone seemed afraid of him, Maya said. I mean, I'm afraid of him, but I don't think it's for the same reason. I'm afraid if he touches me I'll get down and propose.

I went to my room and fell into the soft blanket. Yawning, I set an alarm for early the next morning. It was Sunday, but I wanted to explore campus a bit more.

I let the hoodie slide off my body and to the floor. Pulling the blankets over my shoulders, I soon felt sleep push me into Dreamland.
