Chapter 1
It was a bright sunny day with clouds so white and fluffy bouncing up in the beautiful blue sky. The birds were chirping and everyone was spending their day like they normally do. Nature was what they believe that brought such weather to them. However, up in the universe where humans did not know, a place called Galax existed where people known as Galaxians were responsible for their lives and death, wellbeing and weather.
"In the past, Galaxians had it easy as there was a myth that an Angel, who would travel to the human world and bring back information about the situation, existed. Although the Angel had contributed a lot to the Galax, she was still considered an outsider. One day, that Angel caused an incident which killed on of the Galaxians. The entire story was not revealed to the public and continued to remain a mystery to all Galaxians"
A person in his 20s read out from his book. He was dressed in a black uniform from head to toe with the Sun-shaped logo on his chest. He sat in his chair with his leg crossed as he flipped the page of his book. A knock on the door was heard and he snapped his fingers. The door creaked open by itself. In Galax, magic was an ability all Galaxians had.
"Sir, we need you to check the weather"
Another person, who was wearing similar uniform as him, entered the room. He closed his book and followed that person to the control room which was connected to his office. He monitored the screen which showed the weather pattern of the human world. After observing it closely, he commanded the other Galaxians in his room to take actions. He had the highest rank in that room and he was none other than the Guardian of the Sun, Lucas Huang.
Guardians are the team leader for the different departments that existed in Galax. Being one of the youngest, the rest always had their eyes on him He was well-praised as he was the type to fulfill his tasks dutifully although he tends to make mistakes.
As usual, he was performing his tasks by bringing warm bright sunlight to the living world so that every living thing can enjoy their day to the fullest. Although his hard work was not always appreciated by the living beings due to the heat attached to it, it was because of him that they were able to complete their morning routine and face lesser environmental constraints.
"Louis, any other notifications?" he asked the man from before, who was standing beside him.
"Yes Sir. We received a notification from the Head of the Sky that the heat should be higher," Louis told him. Lucas whined as he received another order while monitoring the weather pattern. The weather was hot enough to cause heat wave yet it was suggested to increase even higher.
Although Galaxians play the main role in controlling the weather, nature still played a part. Due to deforestation by humans, there was lack of trees on the Planet Earth which led to damage in habitat. Still that temperature was torturous for living beings.
But then, he was ordered by the Head of the Sky. Heads are the ones who had the highest rank in Galax and the ones who make decisions. Lucas did not see any reason to complain as it was how things were meant to be. He sighed and pulled the switch that controlled the climate. After the hottest time was over, he cooled the temperature down and left the rest of his work to the members.

He walked back into his office, humming his favorite song like he always did. He was well-liked by his members for being energetic and bright. He was always in good mood, even when he had to shoulder a lot of responsibilities. He loved having fun and messing around but when it comes to work; he turns serious in completing them without complaining. That was what made him popular among his members.
Being a Guardian, he spent most of his time in his office which basically became his second home. He would only be free at night and by then he would be too exhausted to go out. Despite that, he was always willing to catch up with the other guardians during his free time.
Opposite to his work and personality, he enjoys quietness and soft music. His nights were usually spent in his room with a view of beautiful night sky. He loves looking at the night sky full of stars and beautiful round moon. In the galaxy, the night sky looked 10,000 times much prettier than on Earth. He always appreciated the view and wished to learn how it worked.
The main reason why he decided to apply for this job was to learn more about the Guardian of the Night, Leila Song. There was always something mysterious about her. Nobody had seen or interacted or talked about her. Furthermore, their duty timing was the direct opposite. The moment his duty ends, her duty starts.
He had never met Leila before since the gatherings were held at night and she never made it. He had always wanted to meet her and share all his interest about the night sky and how much he appreciated it. However, he never had the chance.
He returned to the control room when it was time for the Sun to set in planet Earth. He slowly lowered the heat and brightness while monitoring the screen. His job for the day had finally ended and it was time for him to get some rest. He made sure all the switches were off and greeted everyone goodbye before leaving.

He walked down the corridor instead of teleporting. He often took the longer route just to walk past a quiet room. It was the room where Galaxians were banned from entering. It was the office of the Guardian of the Night. He had always been curious of how things work inside there.
He noticed the air became cooler which meant that it was time for her duty. He looked through the window along the hallway and saw the bright blue sky darkened and slowing forming into art as the shining stars which were twinkling like diamonds filled in the space.
Lucas never knew how it worked as all he had to do was brighten the sky and play with the temperature. He walked to and fro in front of the door which was part of his daily routine as he always hesitate to either enter the office or head back to his room. He usually ended up back in his room because he knew it was wrong and he had too much to lose.
He imagined how things would be inside the mysterious office. It could be just like theirs but with more equipment or maybe like a magic lab or something. He mustered up his courage and faced the room. Just as he was about to knock the door, a gush of wind blew past him.
He turned towards the direction where the wind blew and saw a shadow of a lady. The lady held up her fingers and touched the air. Her fingers pointed to the window.
Being a curious person, her actions caused him to shift his view to the window. Upon her movements, the shimmering silver Moon rose up in the sky, completing the beautiful art. He was wide-eyed in astonishment and the moment he turned back, she was gone. He thought it was just his imagination and headed back to his room.

Another normal day was what Lucas thought until he received an invitation from Ryan Jung, the Freelancer Guardian who was responsible for the clouds in the sky. Ryan was one of Lucas's closet friends and worked directly under the Head of the Sky. He was the calm and patient type of person.
Lucas knew the letter was from the Head of the Sky the moment he took it from him. He read it which stated that all guardians were to gather at midnight. "Everyone will be there?" he asked while raising his eyebrow, signaling the question to Ryan as he read the invitation.
"Yes even the Guardian of Night will be there," Ryan answered emphasizing on the word 'Night'.
Shocked by the news, Lucas accidentally increased the brightness of the world making the human beings complain due to the sudden rise in temperature, sending off warning signs.
He snapped out and reduced the light as soon as he realized what he had done.
"But how is it possible? It's night time. Won't she have duty?"
Ryan knew exactly what he meant. It was unusual for her to actually attend the gathering. Even he was shocked when he was told that. Knowing Lucas, he would be extremely elated upon hearing the news so he went to tell him first.
"There is no Moon in the sky tonight so the Guardian of Night can attend," he explained to him.
Ryan wanted to stay longer and hang out with Lucas but then he realized that he still had to deliver the invitation to others. He looked at the monitor and excused himself before disappearing into thin air.
Lucas watched the weather patterns of the planet Earth on the screen and smiled.
"So this is the first time I'm meeting the Guardian of Night. I knew applying for this job was worth it!"
