Next Morning...

"Shaurya Beta thoda sa fruit juice pee lo. Mumma made this for you." Said Shehnaaz while running behind Shaurya who was also running away from her.

"Mumma I don't like fruit juice. I like coke." Said Shaurya.

"Beta subah subah kaun coke peeta hai? And fruit juice is healthy for your health. Try to understand."

"No I don't want to drink it."

While saying, Shaurya suddenly bumped into Sidharth and stopped.

"What happened?" Asked Sidharth.

"Dekho na Buddy. Mumma mujhe force kar rahi hai fruit juice peene ke liye. I don't like it." Said Shaurya to him.

Sidharth looked at her and said sternly, "Shehnaaz, why are you forcing him?"

Shehnaaz glared him and asked angrily, "And why are you talking to me with this attitude?"

Sidharth got scared and said giving a foolish smile, "Sorry Baby. Bacche ne bola toh thoda bhavnao mein beh gaya."

Shaurya giggled and said, "Buddy aap toh darpok nikle. Mumma se darr gaye? Hehehehe!"

Sidharth glared him but he didn't stop giggling. Meanwhile Shehnaaz nodded her head in disbelief seeing the cartoons.

Then suddenly her eyes fell on the clock.

"Mere office ka time ho raha. Sidharth, tum Shaurya ko yeh pila do please."

Saying that, Shehnaaz handed him the glass of fruit juice and went to her room.

"Shehnaaz main kaise...."

Before he could complete, Shehnaaz left from there.

Then he looked at Shaurya and said, "Pee le please."

"No way." Said Shaurya nodding in no.

Sidharth bent down and said, "Tujhe aaj bhi game khelna hai yaa nahi?"

"Buddy this is blackmailing."

"Not Blackmailing, this is an offer. Agar tune yeh fruit juice pee liya toh main tujhe aaj bhi apna game khelne dunga, yeh bhi sikhaunga ki games kaise design karte hai, aur toh aur Mumma ke jaane ke baad hum khub saari masti karenge aur main tujhe ice cream bhi khilaunga."

"But I can't eat ice cream. Uss mein milk hote hai na?" Said Shaurya sadly.

"I will bring non-dairy ice cream for you. Phir chalega?"

Shaurya started thinking.

"Soch le. Offer bohut accha hai. Sirf fruit juice peene ke badle itni saari chizein mil rahi hai tujhe. Mujhe koi aisa offer deta, main toh zaroor le leta."

"Ok fine." Said Shaurya finally. "I'll drink the fruit juice. Lekin pura nahi."

"Koi naa. Dono Buddy half half pee lenge." Said Sidharth making Shaurya happy.

Then Shaurya drank the half of the juice while making faces and Sidharth drank the rest half.

Soon Shehnaaz came back after getting ready and saw Sidharth and Shaurya sitting on the sofa while the former was showing the later something on his laptop. Shehnaaz then looked at the table on which the empty glass was kept.

"Sidharth! Pura ka pura fruit juice Shaurya ne khatam kiya?" Asked Shehnaaz frowning.

"Haan. Aur kaun karega? He is a good boy." Lied Sidharth saving Shaurya from his mother.

"Kamal hai." Said Shehnaaz in her mind being surprised.

"Accha main office jaa rahi hoon. Shaurya tujhe koi problem...."

Before she could complete, Shaurya said, "No problem Mumma. Main aur Buddy saath reh lenge. Aap aaram se office jaao. Aur agar aap late aaye toh bhi koi problem nahi hai."

Shehnaaz widened her eyes hearing his words.

"Toh main pakka jau?" She asked again.

"Bye, love you." Said Sidharth and Shaurya together without looking at her. Their whole concentration was on the laptop.

Shehnaaz laughed in her mind and left from there.

As soon as she left, Sidharth and Shaurya screamed together, "It's masti time!"

Then they high-fived.

After sometime they got bored and kept the laptop aside. Then they started playing in all the rooms turning the whole apartment into mess.

Soon Sidharth brought ice cream for Shaurya making him extremely happy.

"Aap sach mein ice cream le aaye?" He asked excitedly.

"Laana toh tha hi. After all it's your Buddy's promise." Said Sidharth lifting up his collar.

They they started having the ice cream together.

After finishing the ice cream, they started playing video games together.
At first, Sidharth won and showed Shaurya attitude.

"Sharam nahi aati? Bacche se jeet ke khush ho rahe ho." Said Shaurya making Sidharth quiet.

Shaurya was losing the next round as well. Suddenly he got an idea. He pinched on Sidharth's hand making him lose balance. And Shaurya won the round.

"Not fair Buddy. It was cheating." Said Sidharth objecting.

"Oh Buddy! Everything is fair in love and war." Said Shaurya with attitude.

Sidharth widened his eyes being surprised as he didn't expect to hear this from a 9 years old boy.

The whole day they both spent enjoying together. Slowly Sidharth and Shaurya's bond started growing. In spite of their age difference, they became best buddies. Shaurya used to share everything with Sidharth and also obey his words as he somehow managed to do it by using his tricks. They used to tease each other, leg pull each other, have fun with each other and also love each other a lot. Shehnaaz was happy seeing them bonding so well and every fear that was in her mind, faded away.

(Story to interrupt but aage badhne se pehle kis kis ne yeh song suna hai aur iss pe vibe kiya hai, please comment mein baata na 😄)

One night, Shehnaaz, Sidharth and Shaurya were having dinner together. As usual both Sidharth and Shaurya kept the salads aside and continued eating.

Shehnaaz nodded her head in disbelief and asked, "Tum dono ke good habits ka toh paata nahi lekin saare ke saare bad habits itne acche se kaise match karte hai?"

Sidharth and Shaurya looked at each other and gave stupid smiles.

But she didn't melt and said, "Eat the salads right now."

"Mumma please rehne do na." Said Shaurya making puppy face.

"Haan please." Said Sidharth also making puppy face.

Shehnaaz sighed and said, "Kuch nahi ho sakta tum dono ka."

After finishing the dinner, Shehnaaz got a call and went to attend it.

"Buddy aaj raat ko bhi hum game khelenge?" Asked Shaurya.

"Khel toh sakte hai. But what about your homeworks? Mumma ne kaha tha na karne ke liye?" Asked Sidharth.

"I'll do it later." Said Shaurya.

Sidharth was going to say something when Shehnaaz came there.

"So there is a good news. Guess what?" Said Shehnaaz. She seemed happy.

"What?" Asked Sidharth and Shaurya.

"Shaurya padso yaaha se nahi jaayega. Param ki business trip extend ho gayi hai aur Shaurya ke school mein bhi summer vacation chal rahi hai. So now he is staying with us for one month." Said Shehnaaz excitedly to which both Sidharth and Shaurya gave a huge smile.

"Matlab main itne din aap dono ke saath rahunga? Yahoooo!" Said Shaurya happily.

Sidharth and Shehnaaz chuckled seeing his happiness.

"Accha suno na Sidharth." Said Shehnaaz to which he looked at her. "Shaurya 1 week ke liye rehne wala tha isliye woh apne saath zyada kapde nahi leke aaya. Main soch rahi hoon kyu na iss Sunday hum teeno shopping pe jaa ke Shaurya ke liye kuch naye kapde kharid le?"

Sidharth nodded in yes and said, "Good idea."

"Phir hum amusement park bhi jaayenge aur waaha bohut masti karenge." Said Shaurya.

"No masti. Pehle homework dikha apna. I want to see kitna kiya hai." Said Shehnaaz.

Shaurya gulped his saliva and said, "Woh... Mumma... Actually...."

Shehnaaz understood the matter and asked, "Homework nahi kiya?"

Shaurya looked down in fear and nodded in no.

"This is not done, okay?" Said Shehnaaz showing anger. "Do your homework right now!"

"Jaane do na Shehnaaz." Said Sidharth immediately. "Chhuttiyan chal rahi hai uski. Kar lega homework. Daant ne ki kya zaroorat hai?"

"Sidharth you are not getting it. Padhai chhor ke saara din sirf uchhal kud karega toh bigad jaayega." Said Shehnaaz trying to make him understand.

"Nahi bigdega. Kaal main khud isko homework karwaunga, happy? Abhi isse sone do. Let's go Shaurya."

Saying that, Sidharth hold Shaurya's tiny hand and took him to his room.

"Aur game ka kya?" Asked Shaurya in a low voice.

"Mummy se maar khana hai? Chal chup chap." Said Sidharth in a low voice.

Going to his room, Shaurya sat on the bed and asked innocently, "Aap ne mujhe Mumma ki daant se kyu bachaya?"

"That's what Buddies are for. They are each others' saviours." Said Sidharth smiling.

"Toh aap sach mein mere Buddy ho. Mujhe pehle laga tha ki aap mere Step-Dad ho." Said Shaurya sadly.

Sidharth's face grew serious hearing that.

"What did you say? Step-Dad?" He asked.

Shaurya nodded in yes and said, "Paata hai humare ghar pe meri Step-Mom rehti thi. Woh humesha mujhe daant ti thi. Aur bohut maarti bhi thi. Papa ke daant se bachana toh dur, woh mujhe aur daant padhwati thi. She was very bad. She never treated me well. Mujhe laga tha aap bhi waise hi honge."

Sidharth felt bad hearing how this little kid suffered in his own house.

Then suddenly he thought something and asked, "Rehti thi matlab? Ab tumhari Step-Mom tumhare saath nahi rehti?"

"Nahi woh toh humein do-teen saal pehle hi chhor ke jaa chuki hai. Ab sirf main aur Papa saath mein rehte hai."

Sidharth smiled slightly and asked, "Tu khush hai unke saath?"

Shaurya smiled and nodded in yes.

Sidharth kissed his forehead and said, "Sleep Buddy! Good night!"

"Good night Buddy! I love you." Said Shaurya to which Sidharth smiled.

After making Shaurya sleep, Sidharth was about to leave when Shehnaaz entered the room.

"So gaya?" She asked in a low voice to which he nodded in yes.

"I have heard everything." She said sadly. "I wish I was there for him at that time. That woman mistreated my son and I couldn't even protect him. I failed as a mother Sidharth."

Shehnaaz started crying silently.

Sidharth lifted up her face by her chin and said wiping her tears, "You are a very good mother Shehnaaz. It is proved now. It was the situation which forced you to stay away from your son. Don't blame yourself all the time."

Shehnaaz smiled and said, "And you are a very good father. Jitna tum Shaurya ke liye kar rahe ho, utna sayad Param bhi nahi karta hoga."

"No Shehnaaz. I don't want to be his father. He is happy with his own father. He doesn't need another one. Main uska Buddy hi thik hoon."

Shehnaaz nodded and said, "You are his best Buddy. And I love this bond. I.... I love you."

She said looking at him with full of love.

Sidharth pulled her closer and said, "I love you too."

Then they were about to kiss when Shaurya suddenly sat up and said loudly, "And I love you both!"

Sidharth and Shehnaaz immediately moved away while Shaurya started giggling. They nodded their heads in disbelief and then laughed together.

Next Day...

Sidharth was finding some important pen drive when suddenly he noticed the ring box he bought to propose Shehnaaz. It was still there.

Sidharth sat on his bed holding the ring box.

"Itne din hogaye aur abhi tak tumhe yeh ring de ke propose karne ki himmat nahi hui Shehnaaz. Kaash aisa koi tarika hota jis se tum mere bina kuch bole hi sab kuch samajh jaati. Par aisa ho nahi sakta. Ab main karu toh kya karu? Kaise tumhe kahu that I want to marry you?" He uttered sadly looking at it.

"Yeh toh bohut badi problem hai."

Hearing that, he said, "Sach mein yaar. Bohut badi problem hai."

Suddenly he frowned and looked beside only to find Shaurya sitting beside him keeping his chin on his palm as if he was thinking something very deeply.

"T...t..tu yaaha k..kab se hai?" He asked stammering.

"Jab se aap iss ring box se baatein kar rahe ho." Said Shaurya looking at him.

"Matlab tune sab sun liya?"

"Nahi toh. Maine bilkool nahi suna ki aap Mumma ko propose karna chahte ho lekin darr ki wajah se nahi kar paa rahe."

Sidharth sighed and asked, "Chup rehne ke liye kya lega?"

"Are you mad? Main toh aap ki help karna chahta hoon. Mumma ko propose karne ke liye."

"Tu karega help?" Asked Sidharth with disbelief. "Kaise?"

"I have an idea. Hum Sunday ko shopping karne jaa rahe hai. Waha se amusement park ka programme cancel kar ke hum kisi restaurant mein chale jaayenge. Waha aap table pe khade hoke Mumma ko propose kar dena. Aap ki shakal dekh ke woh aap ko reject kar de iske chances hai. Lekin phir main rona suru kar dunga. Aur mera cute face dekh ke woh maan hi jaayengi. Hai na accha idea?"

"Nahi nahi. Yeh mujhse nahi hoga."

"Matlab aap darpok ho?"

"Arrey bilkool nahi."

"Then prove it."

Sidharth couldn't understand what to say.

Finally he gave up and said, "Ok I'll do it....And thank you for this idea."

Shaurya smiled and said, "Thank you se kaam nahi chalega. Meri wali ko set karne mein help karna hoga."

Sidharth widened his eyes and asked, "Teri wali?"

"Her name is Emily. Mere class mein study karti hai. Soch raha hoon iss summer vacation ke baad I'll ask her to be my girlfriend. And you will help me in this."

"Girlfriend? Height dekhi hai apni? Aaya bada girlfriend bana ne."

"Pyaar karne ke liye height nahi, dil bada hona chahiye. Right Buddy?" Said Shaurya dramatically.

Sidharth sighed and said laughing, "You are right."

"Waise Mumma ko iss baare mein mat baatana." Said Shaurya further.

Sidharth nodded and said, "I know it's a top secret."

Shaurya smiled and then left from there.

Sidharth again looked at the ring box and said, "Propose toh kar dunga. I hope she agrees."

On Sunday...

Sidharth, Shehnaaz and Shaurya went to the shopping mall to buy new clothes for Shaurya. But as soon as they entered there, Shehnaaz forgot everything and started doing her shopping non-stop.

"Mumma ki shopping toh khatam hi nahi ho rahi. Aise toh humara plan fail ho jaayega." Said Shaurya in a low voice.

"Teri Mumma ko shopping karne se rokna matlab maut ko invitation dena. No no I can't do it." Said Sidharth.

"Uff! Yeh bhi mujhe hi karna hoga."

Saying that, Shaurya went to Shehnaaz and said, "Mumma chalo na. Main bore ho raha hoon yaaha."

Suddenly Shehnaaz saw something and said, "Udhar kid's section mein chal. Tere liye naye shoes bhi kharid lungi."

"But...."

Shehnaaz didn't hear anything and forcefully took.Shaurya with herself.

"Ab toh yeh adhe ghante se pehle wapas nahi aane wale. Ek kaam karta hoon. Tab tak thodi practice kar leta hoon." Said Sidharth in his mind and started practising.

"Will you marry me Shehnaaz?....No this is very common.... Hey Shehnaaz, marry me please, I'll die without you.... Bhikh thodi maang raha hoon yaar? Attitude ke saath kehna hoga.... Shehnaaz, I think you should marry me.... What the hell am I saying?.... Dhat! Mujhse nahi hoga."

He was very much stressed when suddenly he heard a familiar voice.

"Sid!"

He looked at the person and became shocked. Some past memories came in front of his eyes. Kavya, the girl whom he once loved, the girl who hurted him the most, was now standing in front of him. He never expected to see her again. But after 8 long years, she was there right in front of his eyes. He couldn't understand how to react, how to feel.

Before he could say anything Kavya ran to him and hugged him tightly.

"Oh Sid! Finally I found you. I missed you so much my love." Said Kavya smiling, leaving Sidharth numb.
