Chapter 15 I’m Sorry

Third person pov.

Harry sat on the bed he was given when he stayed at the Weasleys' household, “How long does it usually take for her to come back?” Hermione asks Ron who sat bleakley on his bed as he waits to find out when his little twin sister will be back to him. He shrugs his shoulders, “Sometimes she doesn't come back for weeks.”

Harry's throat tightens even more with that news. He could and couldn't wait hours to know if she was ok, now finding out he might have to wait weeks to find out made him worry even more. The fear in him was slowing building to something bigger and he doest know what will happen if it bursts.

Third person pov.

After trying for minutes and not being able to, Severus grips her jaw and prays her mouth open so he could start pouring them one by one before things turn bad.t.

Dawn feels warmish liquid fill her mouth, she didn't like it and her body didn't want it either. Her head shot forward and was ready to gag and spit it out but Severus was quick to place a hand over her mouth stopping her, “I’m sorry Dawn but you need to swallow them” he mumbles out.

He hates this, but he had to make sure she was taking her medicine.

Dawn gags as the potion seeps through slightly, she whispers out and shakes her painful hands as she struggles to swallow the potions that are supposed to help her. When the warmish potions went down her throat she stopped shaking her hands and pushed it onto his hand even harder to stop herself from throwing up. The only thought that was on her mind was how many more she had to take to help her.

When her hands dropped Severus was reaching for the other potion to pour in her mouth. Dawn didn't want another one and started to shake her head, no.

“I’m sorry Dawn but you have to take them” he mumbles out. “Bottoms up” he mumbles out and pours the second one in her mouth and does the same thing.

He knew in a few months or year, these potions won't be able to help her out and it pains him to know it.

Time skip. A few days later.

Third person pov.

“How is she doing?”

Molly takes a seat in one of Severus' green chairs. Arthur stood behind the chair holding his wife's shoulders waiting to hear the news about his first daughter. He was a patient man but to a point. “Just come straight out with it” Arthur semi snapped out.

Seveurs scuffs, “She will be ok. When she woke up it wasn't well. Her body was sweating and she had an extreme fever that I mastered to get down under a few hours of placing cold clothes on her head and making her drink her potions every three hour” he sighs and runs a hand over his forehead. “What happened has taken a lot out of energy out of her and damages something in her even more to now she will be having to take three potion ever morning now” he said tilting his head to the side, “They aren't the best tasting but it will help her so make sure she takes them”

Molly and Arthur nodded their heads sadly as they listened to him, “anything else?” Molly asks, “When can I see her?” she adds.

Severus sighs again and dreading this part, “I need to tell you another thing-”

“And what would that be? Stop taking your time!”

“Arthur!” Molly says snapping at him, “Calm down please, please continue… what else do you need to tell us?”

“This is the most important topic to talk about... “ he started slowly, nodding his head to the side and shifting his eyes slightly to his desk away from Dawn's parents. He didn't want to be the one to tell them this, but he had to. “her eyesight has gotten worse” he started this topic by saying that, “when she got separated from everyone, she must have fallen and hit her head… the reason why… her… head…” Severus sighs, “the reason why her head was bleeding that much was because she hit the left side of her head and left eye”

Molly covers her mouth as a small gasp escapes it, “She cut her left eye somehow and it was not a good cut… with the hit to the head and eye plus that cut she got it has left her eye to be now unable to be seen out of. I tried healing it… her eye first turned red, then back to her blue but” he shakes his head and continues, “after a bit a white haze has covered it now. The cut only healed so far, but not enough, I have wrapped both eyes for now and at one point you can change it to just her left eye covered” he said standing up from his chair.

He wave his hand to the side and continues, “But then again her sight was eventually going to vanish maybe this will help her cope when it happens”

Third person pov - with Dawn.

Dawn has been feeling down for the past few days, finding out that she would never be able to see out of her left eyes again caused her to fall back into her depression again, this time deeper.

She wasn't able to see out of her left eye again and with that and knowing that was one of her many fears that she never talked about came true-ish it has caused her to fall into her usual habit she gets into when she is like this. She was doubting herself and making herself feel useless, just like usually there was another probably to add onto her list of problems she has and the pity she will get with it too, she just wanted to scream. She just wanted to be normal.

But so far though, she has Severus who is ready to help her as much as he can. He would only let her lay in bed for so long until he would make her eat as much as she could, then get some fresh air in her, he would clean her cuts and she would slowly and carefully have a shower, alone of course. Severus would wait in his study for her to stumble out of the bathroom when she was done so he could patch her bad cuts up again, especially her left eye, then she would go back to the bed.

Severus would read to her, but he knew that she was numb and all he was doing was just not letting her be alone with her thoughts. He would make sure she was dead asleep before leaving her to rest, he would make sure he was up before her so he could make her breakfast, he then would go and wake her up and make her eat, drink her potions and once again check on her cuts to see how those are healing.

Liked said before she feared losing her sight and now she did with one eye and at one point her right eye will go and she would be left completely blind, but for now it's just one and when she does lose her sight completely she would probably fall back into this state she is in right now.

It will be hard, very hard for her the first few times when she gets sick like this and loses her sight because when her sight comes back only her right eye will only work and that would just crush her again. This whole thing is newish, it's going to be a struggle for her and her family to get used to it. Even though he did everything to help her out and it did help but to a point and not as much as he wished he could help her with, he couldn’t do that much for her anymore, now she needs to go back home to get ready to finally go to Hogwarts with her siblings.

Hogwarts wasn't even on her mind, Dawn thought about the pity guilty looks she got from her family before was bad this is going to be a hundred times worse.
