Ever since that talk, [name] had been holding the charm close to his body. He would wrap bandages around his chest, keeping it wrapped up tight and secure.
You couldn't trust anyone these days.
Though [name] tried to avoid Slovenia as much as possible, the country would always come back clinging to him like a baby.
Slovenia's words made him second-guess the talk with Australia. [name] was tied. He didn't know who to believe, the Australian or the Slovenian. Without his previous memories, everything became a blur to him.
"Heya [name]!" Slovenia wrapped his arm around [name]'s shoulder, catching him off guard. "Holidays are coming soon and... do you plan on going back to your country?"
If [name] had to be honest, he didn't know where his country was on the map. His culture, locals, and food are all locked behind a barrier in his memories.
"Nahh, it's getting boring going back to my country, so I'm planning on staying here." The country wanted to save face, knowing how embarrassing it was to admit that you had forgotten where you came from, especially if you were the personification of that country.
"Do you wanna go with me? I promise it'll be fun! I can show you the mountains, caves... everything!" It felt like Slovenia's words were pulling him, rather than a request. The other country paused for a moment. "I can show you the world~"
"I'm fine, I gotta lock in for my studies next year.. I'm barely passing and that ain't good." [name] pushed Slovenia away from his personal space. What he said was partially true; due to late-night gaming, his performance in studies fluctuated.
But he couldn't really care less about his studies.
"Hmm? You ain't being yourself these past few days [name]." Slovenia poked the other's head, moving his body to look at [name] eye to eye. "By the way, your aura has been off, too. Are you okay?"
Right, he could see other's colours. He could tell straight away if anyone was lying. Not really a good thing for [name].
"Not really, but that's a personal matter that I will not disclose." [name] couldn't lie, so he would have to say partial truths. "Well, I've got to go now, see ya!"
And like that, the country dipped, disappearing within the waves of students leaving their classrooms.

The school library is where [name] goes to for an escape. Peaceful and quiet, a perfect place to study. Though, it was [name]'s first time ever stepping here.
Cold air brushed against his cheek once he entered the place, the library was bigger than he had imagined. It might be even bigger than public libraries.
Study desks, sofas, and a lounge area were scattered across the library. This is the dream library.
For once [name] bothered to pick up a book to read. He went to the section about countries and god, that's one big section dedicated to countries.
It was divided into continents and arranged in alphabetical order, making it easier for students to find their own country.
Well, since [name] forgot where his country was on the continent, he had to resort to searching through the shelves one by one with hundreds or thousands of books dedicated to one country.
What he could infer was that there is an insane amount of books about the United States of America after searching for a book about his country for ages.
"Do you require any assistance?" A hushed voice whispered behind him. The other noticed him hanging around the section for what seemed like hours, trying to find a book.
[name] took one good look at his flag, was it Germany? The flag looked off, he had never seen that country before.
"Err... I'm trying to find a book about my country." [name] whispered back to the German-looking country. He was relieved yet embarrassed for asking someone to find his own country for him.
"You're [name] right? The books should be around... here!" The other country pointed at an area a bit further from where [name] was looking after taking a quick glance at his face.
[name] muttered a thanks to the other, grabbing a book off the shelf quickly.
Compared to the number of books written about America, books written about him seemed miserable. 'Jeez... there's plenty enough books about her.. I think writers should pay more attention to countries not known to the world.'
He slumped against the cushioned chair, opening his book. It's about time to relearn his history and culture. "Oh my God. I hope I don't forget my language..."
Despite his memory, he could still read and listen to his language with understanding fortunately. Perhaps it was the years of using it that had gotten into his bloodstream.

The day that most students longed for finally came. Barely anyone was paying attention to the poor teacher's teaching and were rather chatting with each other during the lessons.
Even with the teacher's hardest efforts, they couldn't seem to draw the students' attention back to the board.
What even is there to listen to? The school year is ending soon anyways. [name] leaned back onto his wooden chair, glancing back and forth between his teacher and the clock.
He himself was ready to run off for his holidays with the rest.
At one moment, his teacher gave up teaching completely and let the students have a free period.
"Yo, what are you planning to do for the holidays?" [name] did not need to look up to know if it was his friend. His eyes stayed on his book under the table.
"Study."
"That's it? That's so boring! We literally do that every time!" Australia crossed his arms, glancing down at [name]. "Wait a minute... Are you using your phone in class?"
[name] pushed his book under his desk, hiding it from Australia's view. "It's a free period soo... what's wrong with that?"
"Folks these days... Always using their phones." Australia sighed loudly, making sure their classmates around them could hear that sigh. "Anyways! Since you're not going anywhere, why not just come with me?"
"Nahh... I'm gonna study, remember?" There's so much for [name] to learn during the holidays, within the past few days, he has become obsessed with reading books about his country.
"Yeesh.. okay, okay. Just don't become a sweat at studies okay?"
"I won't promise that, but I'll try."

[name] is at the library again, seeking new books. He had blitzed through multiple stories of himself within days since the holidays.
The library was empty as usual, with only a few students who refused to go back present.
He's back in the country section, squatting down as he looks for new books he hasn't touched. By now, he is a regular at this school library.
"Here again, [name]?" The staff country asked the other. [name] had known his name by now through his name tag. He was none other than East Germany. "At this rate, you're gonna finish the whole shelf by this week."
[name] couldn't help but chuckle at his words, he found it absurd that he himself would read through multiple books within a month, let alone touch a book with his free will.
"I guess I want the knowledge." He grinned, not bothering to keep his volume low with the number of students in the library.
"Shouldn't you know what's inside the book if you're the topic?"
"Well, let's just say school made me forget who I really am."
[name] picked out an unfamiliar book from the range of books. He lifted himself upright and walked to an empty table with the German following behind him.
"Honestly, I can somewhat understand it, since I have a sister maybe in the same year or a year higher than you." East Germany whispered to [name] out of habit. "She would always complain to me about the weight of studies along with her life."
'Germany is a girl? I always thought she was a man.' [name] was shocked, every time East Germany was to glaze his sibling, he made it sound like she was a man with her achievements.
"It must be stressful isn't it? Having to focus on schooling instead of what you like." The country continued on with [name] listening silently as he nodded along.
"It is, but if you juggle your happiness and studies around, maybe you won't feel as stressed." [name] commented as if he studied for hours straight without 15 breaks in between.
"Man, my sister is really awesome with handling her studies, personal life interests, and music altogether!" There the German goes, glazing his sister when he got the chance.
"Melodies are a wonderful thing! It helps shape stories! Isn't it true [name]?" [name] merely nodded at his words, listening intently as he continued talking.
"You ought to come to our performance sometime! It'll be really cool!" East Germany slid a ticket on the desk, finally being able to invite a friend to his concert. [name] took a quick glance at the date despite knowing that he'll forget it someday. "We'll be playing some classical tunes from well-known composers!"
He was practically beaming, containing his urge to boast about Germany's achievements again.
"I'll consider coming."
"Thank you! Hope to see you there!"
