"Do it, do it," cries the devil
"Take a bite and let me revel
In the crunch of apple meat
Forbidden fruit for us to eat"

"Please don't do it," begs the angel
"Forbidden life is short and painful
Though forbidden fruit tastes sweet
Just one bite admits defeat"

"Eat it, eat it," the devil pleads
"To satisfy our wants and needs
Life is indefinite, listen to me first:
Take a bite and quench our thirst"

"Don't eat the apple," The angel prays
"Your heart, this shiny fruit decays
Child, you've not yet seen the worst
Take a bite and you will be cursed"

She turns the apple in her hand
Wishing she could understand
The way the spirits fight within
Her very mind, her very skin

When she is done she walks away
No words will her faces betray
She runs to join her new cursed kin
As apple juice runs down her chin
