Chapter 4: Reunions
Yang paced the floor nervously as the clock ticked on, her and the rest of her friends all crammed into the hall outside. The hospital was quiet at this hour, but the staff had still been more than helpful when they brought Nix in. He had blacked out from exhaustion right in the girls arms and they rushed him over as quickly as they could, her worried cries waking both team RWBY and JNPR. When the Headmaster was notified that Nix had returned he had insisted that they take him here, rather than try to care for him in the schools med bay. They didn't know the extent of his injuries and Vales ER had better equipment.
Yang and the others had stayed with him as long as they could, the doctors eventually having them wait as they looked him over. Yangs footsteps echoed in the small hallway as she paced and the others waited eagerly, all wanting to know his condition. Weiss sat in one of the chairs with a sleeping Ruby in the other, the tired girls head on her shoulder. Nora and Blake talked lowly with Ren, while Pyrrha read up on recent Grimm activity. Jaune stayed silent, his arms folded as he leaned against the wall looking at the floor. His face was impassive and the scar on his eye gave him a stern look but his eyes where full of concern for his friend, no doubt thinking about all the different ways things could go. Their wait was put to an end when the doctor came out of the room, closing the door behind him. Yang quickly came up to him, her voice thick with worry.
"How is he? Is he going to be ok? Can we see him?" She bombarded him with questions and Jaune put a hand on her shoulder to stop her. "Yang, let the man talk."
The doctor smiled softly and cleaned his glasses. "Your friend will be fine. Miraculusly, his wounds are quite minor considering what he's been though, although he's sleeping now. We tried to wake him but he is unresponcive." Yangs eyes went wide and she went to question him again but the doctor continued. "We ran some tests and found that his brain activity is normal. He just needs to rest, so I'm sure he will wake up soon." He smiled at Yang and patted her hand. "Don't worry my dear, he is in our best care. But for now, you should go. Rest up yoursleves."
"The good doctor is right." Ozpins voice chimed in from down the hall. The students all rose to attention as he came over and the doctor took his leave. Weiss woke Ruby as she stood, the young huntress shaking off her sleep as she quickly got up. Ozpin looked at them all gentlly. "You have all been thorough a lot these this past month, I think its time you all rested easy."
Yang moved to protest and the Headmaster cut her off. "Please Ms. Long, we all know you need it. You can come back once classes are out for as long as you wish, but for now you all need to rest."
The students looked at each other and nodded, slowly filing out and leaving Ozipn alone in the hall. He beckoned the doctor back over and spoke in a low voice. "How is he really?"
The doctor sighed. "Its to earily to tell. His injurys are minimal but his sleep state may prove to be more difficult to handle. Nothing we have tried to wake him has shown results, so we have no idea when he will wake."
Ozpin nodded slowly as he listened. "What of his mental state?"
"He is surprisingly active, which is a good sign. The scans show that his mind is moving at a heavily active pace, similar to dreaming. But this one is moving...more, which suggests he is reliving memories."
The headmaster sighed. "It seems only time will tell then." He looked at the door. "I wonder what memories those are..." He nodded at the doctor and they parted ways, Ozpins cane clicking on the floor as he walked back, leaving the hall silent in the night.

-Then, one month ago-
Nix eyes shot open with a start, the roar of the Grimm tearing through his dream and waking him from his sleep. He looked around quickly, scanning for any possible threats. But this was no longer the forest, and his breathing slowed as he tried to identify where he was. "What the..?"
He was in a bedroom, a decent sized one at that. The decorm was clearly ment for a girl, with various clothing pieces and other accessories solidifying his assumption. There was an open window on the right hand side, the thin vanilla colored curtains blowing softly in the wind, sunshine spilling through into the room. Noises could be heard from outside so he knew he must be in a town of some sort. He moved back a little and looked at the bed he was in. The sheets and blanket where soft and red, with a small canopy over the top lined with the same thin curtains on the windows. Nix sat up slowly, his mind trying to piece together how he had gotten here when a sweet voice pulled him from his thoughts.
"Ah, you're finally awake."
Nix turned to the source but struggled to make out their features, the thin canopy veiled over the bed distorting his sight. "Who are you? Where am I?"
The figure giggled, a light female one. "All you need to know right now is that you are safe." The girl walked over and pulled a small rope, drawing the veil back. She was his age with a sweet smile and thick black hair that curled slightly around her shoulders. Her eyes were a deep purple and she wore a light blue jacket that exposed her mid drift. Her pants where a light cream color with a tight fit, and a thin black belt wrapped around her waist. The girl smiled at him. "It's a good think you're up, the Mistress was getting anxious." She lay a fresh shirt and his jeans out on the bed, both of which had been recently washed. "Get changed, I'll be waiting outside."
Nix looked at his clothes in confusion before realizing he was shirtless, his wounds wrapped in fresh bandages. He blushed slightly and covered himself with the blanket. "Uh..who changed my clothes?"
The girl simply giggled at him over her shoulder as she walked to the door. "Don't worry, I was sure to be careful. The freckle by your belly button's cute by the way." She giggled again and shut the door.
"Cute..right." He muttered as he slowly stood, his body still sore. He looked himself over to find bandages all over his upper body and a few on his legs. "At least I'm still in my boxers.." He carefully put on his pants and shirt and went to the door, slipping on his shoes that were sitting next to it. The girl was waiting for him, humming softly. "Ready? Follow me. The Mistress is so eager to see you."
There was that title again, Mistress. Nix pondered what kind of place this could be as they walked through the halls. The decorm was modern but had an older feel to it, the building itself more like a castle on the inside. The floor was adorned with a lavish carpet with lights that looked like torches lining the walls. They rounded the corner and came to a large door and the girl opened it, revealing a small reception room with another girl sitting at a desk.
The secretary looked up an smiled. "Ah! There you are. Our Mistress is expecting you, so go right in."
The other girl opened the door and motioned him inside, shutting it after him. The room was an executive suite that functioned as an office as well as a master bedroom. A large desk sat on one end with an ornate fireplace behind it while a large bed was placed at the other side of the room. A lone female again around his age stood looking out of the large window, the midday summer sun shining brightly outside. Her hair was long, a little past the shoulder and was a deep glossy black. Her posture was a very mature one as she stood with her back straight, giving off the vibe of a confident leader. She wore a light brown parka trimmed with black Grimm fur with a pair of tight fitting blue pants. A pair of light brown boots showed over her pants, coming up to her shin. She held a staff in her right hand, the shaft golden and topped with a large blue crystal. Nix felt something oddly familiar about her but couldnt put his finger on it, the similarity buried somewhere deep in his memory. He opened his mouth to speak but the girl addressed him first, not turning around.
"You're awake. Thats good." Her voice was sweet, but with a comanding tone to it, further showing her leader personality. There was something so familiure about her voice that made Nix's heart pound. "I've waited many years for this moment, you know. To be able to see you again."
Nix swallowed. "I'm sorry, but I dont understand what you mean."
The girl laughed as she turned to face him and Nix's blood ran cold. His eyes went wide in disbelief as memories flooded his brain. "I..I.."
The girl laughed lightly again, tears starting to form in her black eyes. The same eyes that he had.
"Hello Nixy." Iolite Spherule said warmly. "Your sister missed you."
