How could have things gone so wrong?

The plan had worked, they had managed to keep their Ink in one place, long enough for their Error to copy the access codes to the Doodlesphere, but the moment that the codes were in their hands, the Ink just started to melt...

And then, he lost it.

He started to attack everyone around him, and they quickly started to run away... Cross thought that was a good idea.

Once the problem here has been fixed, now that they had a way to get their babybones back, maybe they could settle down here, and find a home. That would be nice...

Unfortunately, for them, that didn't happen...

When the Ink started to melt, he spotted Cross, hiding, and watching what was going on...

Cross hadn't listened to X and Epic, when they told them that they should stay hidden, until after Ink had been dealt with.

Cross had snuck out of the place that they had hidden them in, wanting to explore a little bit, and get some fresh air, when they accidently came across the battle, and Ink saw them...

Cross immediately started to run, dashing away from the battlefield, and searching for a safe place to hide.

The prior attacks from this Ink, had left numerous holes in the AU, holes that Cross had to leap over, or run around.

They had not figured out how to summon any bone attack, or constructs, yet, so they couldn't summon a Blaster to carry them over the holes, or defend themselves, from this Ink.

The scariest part of this, was that Cross didn't know if these holes were just holes in the ground, or actual holes in the AU itself.

They could either roll down a dirty slope, into a cavern, or they could fall into another AU, or the Void again, if they fell into one of these holes.

That was something that they did not want to happen...

They were starting to like this place, it didn't feel like home, but it felt like it could be a home, even if it would come with fussy, and protective adults, that would not leave the Babybones alone, for a few years...

They could learn how to deal with that... The only things that would be missing, would be the Fresh and Red from their original Multiverse, something that could easily be fixed with a little Multiversal travelling.

They yelped, when something that burned, suddenly wrapped itself around one of their ankles, causing them to trip over something, making them fall into one of the holes.

The fall caused the burning object to let go of their ankle, and Cross screamed, when they felt something in it, crack.

They heard more screams, as they fell, crashing into the darkness...
