The man who I think is Nathan asks, "What did you mean by your big speech about betrayal and threats?"

I clasp my hands together. This was about to get interesting.

Recap over

I start, "I am going to start with Mom's story. As you may have guessed, our mom is Sang Sorenson."

Oliver picked up, "After the Volto attack, mom woke with no memory of her past, including you nine. Instead of explaining or anything, you chose to leave. Mom overheard a piece of your conversation and wished to remember. She then saw a rave at her window. This triggered a memory of Raven."

Dallas went on, "Over the next two weeks, she remembered everything. So, it hurt when Sean ignored her at the hospital and when she never saw you again. Mom was planning on leaving because she thought the Academy would use her because of her Ghostbird identity. Mom was scared that since they thought she forgot everything, they would believe that she is easy to manipulate."

Noah continued, "Mom decided to question Dr. Roberts because she also noticed how he was the driving force keeping you nine and her apart. Mom confronted him in the good, old Russian way with a gun to his forehead."

Dr. Roberts attempted to interrupt, but Samuel kept up the story, "He told her that the Academy Council thought that she would tear apart their best team who they didn't want to lose. Dr. Roberts told her she was pregnant and then threatened to kill her with her unborn babies if she went back to you."

Leif took the next part, "Mom chose our safety and fled to Raven's house. She stayed there for two weeks before discovering she was going to have ten kids. It was then that the rest of the Toma Team found out. But later she went to a special hospital for the whole duration of her pregnancy."

Vincent spoke up, "Turns out the hospital was also a safe place for the pregnant wives of gang or mafia leaders. There mom became friends with Agatha who is married to Aleksandr, leader of the Russian mafia in the north. Agatha invited mom to stay with her. As a good plus, there was a Alec, someone she met when she spent a month in Russia and her good friend."

Seb went next, "We were raised under the Russian mafia and stories of our fathers. Due to our unfortunate conditions, we were raised like the mafia heir Alexei. All of us were trained in weapons, self-defense, fighting and killing."

Gale picked up the storyline, "About five hours ago, Mom red-lined us. To us, it means that Volto has her and we are to go to the Toma Team. We followed her instructions and choose to take some creative license. We all wanted to say hi to the man who ruined our mom's life."

Neal continued, "In our family, we have one rule : If someone hurts mom, we hurt them. That is what we did. We would have left peacefully but the doctor hear tried to get us stopped because he recognized Melody as Sang. We do not have the time to be arrested, so we took out our weapons."

I finished the story, "Like our training dictates, any time we go into an unknown area, be armed to the teeth. It's wasn't like we were going to kill them. Just shoot them in a non-lethal place to get them to let us leave. Now, what is important now is getting mom back."

The Blackbourne and Toma team were shocked. Like they couldn't move or talk. The Toma Team had known some of it, but it had taken Mom about three years before she could really talk about it. 

I could see the moment when our words really sunk in and made sense to both teams. They all turned to Dr. Roberts who I think is feeling very out-numbered and glared. 

Sean said, "I can't believe you did this, Phil. I trusted you, you were my mentor, but you are why my Pookie ran."

Dr. Roberts blubbered, "Try to . . . understand from . . . from . . . my point of view. I got the orders. Don't kill the messenger."

I gave him one of my famous looks like 'stop-this-BS', "Dr. Roberts, my mother and my family have hacked into the Academy networks a while back. We know that you are a part of the Academy Council who made the decision. Don't play the innocent."

Vincent added, "Thanks for the original back door, Victor! It was well-hidden, but I knew where to look."

The look on Victor's face made me laugh. It was one of complete confusion and shock. We were all talented not to be cocky or anything. In our society, all of us were geniuses. 

Oliver took on the lead, "Dr. Roberts, we have seen the notes. We know that you are the one to shut down the Blackbourne Team's idea to hunt down and recruit the Rogue Ghostbird. You didn't want them too because the Rogue Ghostbird is Sang. You could have let them go, and it wouldn't have been your fault if they found out. No, you chose to be selfish and betray the values of the Academy."

Owen took on where his son had left off, "I agree with them, Dr. Roberts. We have been debt free for a while now. I no longer have any wish to be in a group where corruption appears to exist. Take these words as my letter of resignation. Turn the rest of our favors into money and put the Blackbourne Team as Retired. Do the others agree?"

"I am willing and I will obey," said in sync the members of the Blackbourne group.

Dallas added, "Since I assume you want to right your wrongs, Dr. Roberts, give us a full access to the Academy database for us to rescue our mother."

Dr. Roberts replied, "Yes, I am sorry about the past. I have one question before you go. How did Sang hide the fact she had ten children from the system?"

Leif gave him a smile, "We are ghosts. We do not exist in the eyes of any government. We are a group of children that no one can track and no one can defeat. You will spend the rest of your days regretting what you did to our mother. We never forgive and we never forget."

In unison, all of us said, "We are the Phantom Team."

With that, all of us turned on our heels and left the hospital. It had been Mom's idea to call us the Phantom Team, the team made of ghosts. I could hear everyone following us.

Mom always said that we were terrifying when we tried to do something together. We proved that statement to be true when at a mafia meeting, a visiting mafia leader tried to force himself on mom. We made the rest of his visit a living hell and made enough calls so he is now no longer a leader.

The message is that no one hurts our mother. 

We waited at the parking lot for everyone to come out. Raven gestured to two vans that his Team had brought. My family went in them, but I waited back a little.

I asked the assemble Blackbourne and Toma Team, "I think that my family needs to meet their fathers. Where would you like to meet? We will do it now because it is easier."

Owen answered, "My house. Axel has the address."

With an answer, I went into the van and Raven drove us to the Blackbourne residence. It was time to meet our fathers.
