Chapter 28 - Charleston
I was thinking of making another GB fanfiction. It would include changing Owen's past a little too. Does anyone know how old Owen was when his mother was killed? Basically, this is the idea:
The night that Owen's father killed his mother, several other things happened. His father attempted to go back and kill Owen to hide the evidence of his first murder. Owen was saved by his childhood friend, Sang, who was also being abused at home. She killed his father and the second gunshot had her father come over. Lastly, Sang's father took her from the scene of the crime and spirited her away.
Owen searched for his little darling for years, never being successful. He made a new family, never ever forgetting his little angel. The Blackbourne Team is now the most successful team in the history of the Academy. They take the most risky missions and always succeed.
Recently, they have just been given their hardest mission left. The details are classified, but it involves infiltrating the most violent, threatening mafia in the current world. Their cover is blown about a month into the operation by someone from their past.
They thought they would die, seeing no way out of it. No one expected Owen's little darling to pop in and get them out, much less for her to save them.
Who truly is Sang?
What has happened to her in the past years?
Would anyone be interested in reading this fanfic story? I probably will post another idea for a fanfic and pick one. I have several in my head.
Sang
It was time to head back to the place where it all started.
I sigh as a Ryder's people come into the room and order, "I need you to pack up this body and bring it to my jet. Get medical help for these men and get my children back in bed. We leave in five fours."
With those words, I spin on my heels and leave the room. I had to find Ryder. As I left, I saw the boys being taken out in stretchers and wheelchairs. It is easier. It might take longer than five hours to leave, but it is fine. I need to inform Ryder of what happened. He has to know in case he receives any backlash due to Volto.
I don't have to look long because Ryder is right outside the building. The little fucker probably showed my kids where I was. He doesn't understand how parenting works. He's like a crazy uncle. Can't say I don't relate, I'm the crazy aunt to Rocky and Chloe's kids.
I lean against the wall next to him, "You wouldn't happen to be involved in the fact of my kids showing up, would you?"
He mockingly looks offended, "Me! Never!"
I roll my eyes, "Mel killed Volto."
Ryder grins, "Good for her!"
I turn to him, "Volto is one of the head woman of the Academy. We are heading there now as soon as everyone is patched up."
He nods, "I saw this coming, just promise to visit soon."
I hug him, "Of course."
It didn't take long for my men to be fixed. Their injuries weren't that severe and they had all been drugged in order to be kidnapped. At the five hour mark, we weren't ready though. It took more than five extra hours to be ready. The kids had needed rest, the boys too and so did I. I took a power nap before making calls to everyone and my associates.
I informed Ace, Aleksandr, Agatha, Alec and everyone of everything. I also told them not to come to me with too many illegal things now, at least not the same amount as anymore. I don't think my family would appreciate it if they knew how much I have crossed the line. Not my fault. . . exactly.
Sean brought me out of my thoughts, "Is everyone ready?"
I turn to look at everyone before replying, "Yup, let's go!"
We were only like five hours later than I wanted to leave, but it's fine. The flight with a jet will only take three hours and a half. It's not like I want to go see the Academy Council. I don't know how they will react. I mean I did just kill a council member. Usually people don't take that well.
"Ready, Pookie?" asked Sean.
I tense at the nickname. It is a reminder of how goods things had been ten years ago and how different it is now, how I could never be Sean's Pookie. That isn't me anymore, I am not the scared little girl they rescued. I've killed and murdered and committed crimes that they hate.
Our relationship would never work, not now or in the future.
"Sang?" Sean's voice pulled me to reality.
I give him a tense fake smile, "Is everyone on the plane?"
He nods, "Just waiting on you."
I walk towards Ryder, "Give me a second, get on the plane and I will be right there."
Ryder walks forward to meet me half-way, "What's wrong, baby girl?
I chuckle, "You only call me that when you are worried."
He laughs, "It's true. Now what did you want to talk to me about?"
My eyes water, "I just wanted to warn you that I might need your help soon."
Ryder goes into over protective brother mode, "Why? Are those boys hurting you? I swear that I-"
I cut him off, "They are still in love with the old me."
He frowns, "Oh."
I nod, "They don't know who I am now and they won't love her the same way. The boys are too attached to let me go. I think I might let my kids have a year or two with their fathers while I disappear."
Ryder shakes his head, "I will help you get away from your men only if they do something. You can't leave the kids, it would break them."
I whisper, "But staying with their fathers might damn well break me."
"Oh, Sang," Ryder hugs me.
I talk into his shirt, "I just don't know what to do. Before I could focus ahead, I was only paying attention to saving my kids and their fathers. Now? I don't know what to do. I just got over my past. I can't relieve it again."
He pets my hair, "You have to figure out what your feelings are regarding them."
I let out a grim laugh, "I don't know. I still have not have closure about the fact that they left me in the hospital with no one. They knew my biggest insecurity was being left behind because I wasn't good enough."
Ryder interrupts, "Shut up Sang! You know damn well you are good enough."
I smile, "Thanks, Ryder. If I told anyone about our conversations, they will be shocked to learn that the ruthless mafia leader in LA has a heart."
He gives me a little push towards the plane, "Get your life together, Sang. I will always back you up."
I quickly get on the plane, avoiding the questioning looks everyone is giving me. I don't want to deal with this right. So, I will do what I do best: procrastinate.
I inform everyone while walking to a separate part of the plane, "I am going to go take a nap. Wake me when we are nearly there."

"Sang?" a voice shakes me out of my dreams, more nightmares.
I groggily get up, "Are we here?"
The voice I now know as Melody's says, "Landing in 15."
I yawn, "Be out in ten. I have to get dress."
I hear the door to the little cabin slam shut. I groan as I roll out of bed. Usually I am a morning person, but recently my sleeping schedule has been thrown off. I got kidnapped, then I didn't sleep for like 48 hours, took a power nap of about 5 hours, spent another 48 hours awake, took another power nap. This isn't good for my body. I need to be in top shape to face the Academy Council.
I quickly get dress and leave the small separate area, just seconds before the doors to exit off the plane opened. That's something I am really good at, arriving in just a nick of time. I watch over my men and my babies. Most of which are still suffering from their kidnappings. I shake my head, they should be resting not gallivanting across the country.
Owen speaks up first, "How are we getting to the Academy Hospital? That's where they set up the meeting."
Mel answers, "We will take the same cars Aleksandr gave us for our visit in America."
North grunts, "Is it safe?"
I roll my eyes, "If the Russian Mafia hasn't killed me in the past ten years, I doubt that they would kill us over borrowing their cars."
Silas defends his friend, "North is just being careful."
I grunt this time, "Hurry up!"
I walk over to the car and slide into the very far back. It's a limo actually, a rather spacious one. We all even fit into one car, obviously Aleksandr anticipated the fact that both my kids and their fathers would have to fit inside.
The car ride to the hospital was filled with noise. My babies were interacting with their fathers and it was heart-warming. I know that I was the one who kept the fathers and children apart, but I just wanted to keep them alive. I tried to do my best as a mother.
"Sang!" called out Silas, dragging me out of my thoughts.
Gabriel muttered, "I swear you daydream more than Luke and Leif."
I shove him in a playful manner, "I have had a tough past couple weeks."
Oliver rolls his eyes, "C'mon mom, everyone is already out of the car."
I roll my eyes like mother like son, "Fine, I'm coming."
I jump out of the car and walk forward. We immediately go to the Academy part of the hospital. Everyone stares at our group. At first, I am confused, but then I remember what my kids told me. They had first come here and held the place hostage. Obviously, word got around the Academy quickly. I chuckled quietly to myself, they were all like gossiping teenage girls. No one even dared approach our group. I guess we look intimidating with twenty people.
Suddenly, an older woman who I think I know rushes up to us, "What happened, Kota? Why didn't you tell me? I take one day off from the hospital and all the sudden, Sang has ten kids and the Academy is corrupt. You have no idea what people have been saying-"
She suddenly stops talking as she has finally noticed the presence of my kids and I. I don't blame her, all the guys are so tall and I am not. I know who the lady is, it's Erica, Kota's mom! She has changed some, but remains recognizable. Another younger girl ran up behind her. It seems that Jessica followed in her mother's footsteps and became a nurse too. Interesting.
Jessica says, "You have some explaining to do!"
I intervene, "I am aware everyone wants to know everything, but right now we are behind schedule. I have murder to commit and a body to hide, so excuse me."
I walked right past them with my children at my heels. I was trying my best not to laugh as it would ruin everything. Everyone stopped trying to pretend not to be listening to the conversation. In truth, I was serious and my kids knew it too. It didn't seem to be a bad idea to kill all of the Academy Council, the apparent reason for Volto. I could get away with it too and I am sure the kids would help.
Behind me, I hear Erica ask, "She wasn't serious, was she?"
Sean sighs, "She might be. We just took down Volto who has been threatening her and her kids. It was Maurine! She is on the Council and we are going to see them now. Sang hasn't had the easiest past ten years."
Jessica comments, "It wasn't easy for any of you either."
Kota defends me, "Harder for her. It had been Dr. Roberts who passed on Volto's message and threatened to kill her. She had recently discovered she was pregnant with decuplets too."
Erica says, "Poor soul. How did she survive?"
I hear pride when Owen answered, "Well, Sang made best friends with the Russian mafia, of course."
One of the people listening in choked on their drink and Erica seems shocked, "What?"
At this point, I am too far to hear anymore. But not even a second later, I have several footsteps behind me. It seems that my men have caught up with me. No, Bad Sang, they aren't your men, not anymore. But they could be! But they can't!
I shake my heads to get rid of these thoughts, "Hey, Owen, where is the meeting?"
He replies, "I'll show you the way."
It was time to face the Academy Council.
