I am still binging on Supernatural so I didn't get time to write. So, I just thought of writing a small Drabble. This is just a random light read. Hope you guys will like it.

Gauri walks to her seat when she notices a man sitting on one of the table.

"Good morning." He says noticing her.

"Good morning... You are Omkara, right?" Gauri asks confused seeing him in their section.

"Yes." Omkara replies as he stood up and extended his hand. "And you are?"

"Gauri." Gauri replies as she shook his hand and quickly let go. "You need something?" Gauri asks as she walked to her table.

"No... I am working here now." Omkara tells her.

"Here?" Gauri asks confused. "I thought you were Arjun's assistant." Gauri says, Arjun was the Finance head.

"I got reassigned. I am going to assist this team from now on." Omkara tells her.

"Oh... Ajay's assistant." Gauri nods as she sat down. Ajay was the Programming Head.

Seeing that Omkara also sits down.

"What about Richa? She was assisting him." Gauri asks confused.

"Maternity leave." Omkara informs her shocked, wondering how she didn't know that.

"Ah okay." Gauri nods her head. "Anyway, I've work. Ajay will take time to reach."

"Time? Office hours is in 5 minutes." Omkara says in confused.

"His timing is different." Gauri brushes it off and switched on her system.

Omkara sat by as Gauri got busy working on the coding.

Omkara had nothing to do, so he simply watched as Gauri frantically worked. After a while, he gets up and walks off to the pantry.

"Didn't know whether you were a coffee person or tea person." Omkara says as he offered her a cup of coffee and a cup of tea.

Gauri looks up at him in shock. "You didn't have to." Gauri says as she took the coffee. "Thank you."

"Assisting the team is my duty." Omkara reminds her with a smile as he walked to his desk.

"You are Ajay Sir's assistant." Gauri reminds him as she took a sip and signs in relief. "Thank you."

"You are welcome." Omkara replies smiling. "When is Ajay coming?"

"Ajay Sir." Gauri corrects him.

"Really?" Omkara asks surprised. "Arjun was cool with me calling his name."

"Ajay Sir is not." Gauri tells him. "He should come in a while."

"Okay. Do you need any help?"

"No, I am fine." Gauri replies as she got back to work. "Thanks for asking."

Omkara nods. Noticing Ridhima, he goes off to talk to her.

Seeing him walk off, Gauri curiously look up and sees him talking to the HR. They seemed to be friends with the way he was talking to her. Gauri shrugs it off and continues to work.

"Have you finished the second phase?" Ajay asks as he walked in.

"Not yet." Gauri replies as she looked up at him in worry.

"You were supposed to submit it today." Ajay furiously shouts at her.

"I'll do it today." Gauri promises him.

"You better get it done. What other work you have here? I am so close to firing you. You are just dead weight on the company." Ajay furiously says.

Gauri gulps worriedly hearing him, then noticing Ridhima and Omkara walking towards them, she nervously looks at them.

"Is there a problem here?" Ridhima asks Ajay with a frown.

"Nothing." Ajay says as he turned to her irately. "Just discussing work."

"You were shouting." Ridhima points out.

"Like I said we were discussing." Ajay tells her.

"All okay, Gauri?" Ridhima asks her.

"Yes... yes." Gauri replies.

"You get back to work." Ajay orders her. "I want the work done by the end of the day."

Gauri nods and gets back to work.

Ridhima frowns seeing that then she tells Ajay. "Anyway, meet Omkara. He will be substituting for Richa."

Ajay nods.

"Okay, you guys back get to work." Ridhima tells them and walk off.

"Get me a coffee." Ajay tells Omkara as he walked to his table.

"That is not part of my job profile." Omkara tells him frowning.

"What?" Ajay turns to him angrily.

Gauri look at them in shock.

"If you ask me politely then I might consider getting it for you." Omkara tells him.

"You are my assistant." Ajay tells him furiously.

"Yes, I am to assist the team in every administration work and to help in finishing the projects in time. Getting coffee is not part of that." Omkara tells him.

"Do you want to be fired?" Ajay asks angrily.

"For what? Refusing to serve coffee?" Omkara asks chuckling. "Let's see how the management justifies that."

"You will not be here for long." Ajay says furiously. Then turning he notices Gauri watching them. "What are you staring at? Get to work!"

Gauri quickly turns her gaze to the screen and gets back to work.

Ajay walks off furiously while Omkara nonchalantly walked to his table.

"You shouldn't be back answering him." Gauri whispers to him.

"Why not? He is not the boss!" Omkara tells her shrugging. "Why are you so scared of him?"

"He is very close to boss."

"Really?" Omkara asks shocked. "With that attitude?"

"Shakti Sir is very fond of him." Gauri tells him.

"I wonder why." Omkara says shocked.

Gauri shrugs and then confused she asks him. "You got coffee for me."

"You didn't order me." Omkara cheekily points out.

"He is coming." Gauri whispers hurriedly noticing Ajay and gets back to work.

Omkara walks back in after lunch and sees Gauri still working.

"Didn't you go for lunch?" Omkara asks her surprised.

"I've some work." Gauri tells him as she continued to test run the program.

Omkara walks to his desk and asks curiously. "Where is he?"

"Lunch break." Gauri informs him.

"But he just got here an hour back." Omkara tells her confused.

Gauri shrugs and ignoring him, she continues to work.

"I'm bored, Gauri. Do you have any work for me?" Omkara asks her.

"Not right now."

Omkara sighs bored.

Omkara watched as Ajay packed up to leave office.

"Finish the work and mail me before you leave office today." Ajay tells Gauri.

"Sure, sir." Gauri replies.

After Ajay left, Omkara curiously asks Gauri. "What work did Richa do?"

"Whatever Ajay Sir gave her."

"Like?" Omkara asks her.

"Whatever work Ajay Sir wanted her done."

"Like?" Omkara asks her again.

"I don't know. Like pay his bills, book tickets etc."

"Like a personal secretary?"

"Aren't you that?"

"I am an admin assistant." Omkara points out to her.

Gauri shrugs. "You shouldn't fight with him. Next week Shakti Sir is coming. So, if he complains about you then your friendship with Ridhima is not going to help you."

"Friendship with Ridhima?" Omkara asks surprised. "What makes you say that?"

"I saw you guys talking. Looked like friends."

"I am a friendly guy."

Gauri looks at him then shrugging she gets back to work.

"Aren't you leaving?" Omkara asks when the office time got over.

"I've to finish this." Gauri tells him.

"Gauri, you didn't even take lunch break. Don't let him bully you like this." Omkara tells her frowning.

"This is my work." Gauri tells him as she continued to work.

Omkara watched as Gauri worked. He had been watching her for a few days now. She was working her ass off while Ajay came and went as he pleased.

"Can't you ask for more team members?" Omkara asks her.

"There isn't much work for another person here." Gauri informs him as she continued to work.

"You are doing three people's work, Gauri." Omkara informs her.

Gauri looks at Omkara then without saying anything she continues to work.

"Pay my electricity bill." Ajay tells Omkara as he walked in. "Log in details are in Richa's laptop."

"Are you talking to me?" Omkara asks him.

"Yes!" Ajay stops as he turned to glare at Omkara.

"I am noticing that this team really doesn't need an assistant. Maybe I should ask Ridhima to reassign me." Omkara tells him as he leaned back on his chair.

"You should! You are bloody dead weight to this team!" Ajay tells him.

"Yeah, even I kind of feel like that." Omkara agrees. "You and me, we both are dead weight to this team. We are neither of any use to the team or Gauri."

"What the hell?" Ajay asks furiously.

"It is Gauri who is single handedly doing all the work in this team. While you and me, we both are just wasting the company resources and money."

Ajay furiously glares at him then turning to Gauri, who was watching it all in shock, tells her furiously. "What are you staring at? Get to work. And pay my electricity bill."

"Gauri, if you use the company laptop and internet to do anybody's personal work then I'll complain." Omkara tells her.

Gauri worriedly looks at Omkara and then at Ajay.

murderously glaring at him, Ajay walks off.

"Why do you fight with him so much?" Gauri asks Omkara in shock.

"He pisses me off." Omkara tells her as he walked to her and pulled up a chair next to her.

Gauri looks at him in shock.

"Tell me what you are doing. Maybe I can help you." Omkara tells her.

"How?" Gauri asks him.

"I've learned a little bit of programming." Omkara tells her.

Gauri looks at him unsure. "Ajay Sir is going to get mad."

"He is hardly here."

Gauri looks at him and with a relieved smile, she tells him, "I really could use the help."

"Use me, then."

Gauri looks at him scandalized.

Omkara bites his tongue embarrassed. "Sorry, that didn't come out well."

Gauri smiles. "So, most of the IT work happens in the main Mumbai office. We are just a small wing."

"You mean a single wing." Omkara teases.

Gauri looks at him confused.

"I meant you." Omkara tells her.

"Oh." Gauri blushes.

Omkara smiles seeing her blush, she was so pretty.

From then onwards, Omkara started helping Gauri in her work. And they started becoming friends.

"Let's have lunch." Omkara tells Gauri feeling hungry.

"You've. I need to finish this." Gauri tells him.

"Gauri, the company is not going to collapse if you take a ten minute break for lunch." Omkara tells her shaking his head.

Gauri smiles. "Okay."

"Just bread and jam?" Omkara asks shocked seeing Gauri's lunch box.

"Easier to have while working." Gauri tells him.

"If you work like this then there won't be a Gauri for long." Omkara tells her exasperated.

Gauri chuckles.

"My food is here." Omkara says noticing the delivery man looking for him.

Omkara gets up and walks to him to collect his food.

"You keep that aside and have this." Omkara tells her as he walked back with his food.

"It's okay, I'll have this." Gauri tells him.

"We can share, Gauri." Omkara tells her as he kept her lunch box aside and opened his food packet.

Gauri smiles seeing his caring nature.

Seeing Ajay walk in, Omkara curiously looks up at him from his laptop.

"You come with me." Ajay tells him.

"Where?" Omkara asks him.

"Shakti Sir is here. We've to meet him." Ajay tells him.

Omkara stands up and curiously asks. "What about Gauri? Isn't it team meeting?"

Gauri looks at Ajay waiting to hear what he decides.

"Gauri is not needed. You come to take down the minutes." Ajay tells him.

"Why is Gauri not needed? She is part of the team."

"She has work. I don't have time to waste. Come fast." Ajay says and walks off.

*******

Omkara watches in astonishment as Ajay presented all that Gauri had been working hard for so many days and passed it off as his.

"As usual you are a magician, Ajay." Shakti says impressed.

Ajay politely smiles.

"You really should be working in the main office. You should come to Mumbai." Shakti tells him.

"No, Sir. I prefer here." Ajay says smiling.

Shakti smiles hearing that. "I'm really considering expanding the IT department here. The IT department here was the most efficient and successful one, but then along the years and I think my lack of concentration here, it got bad." Shakti says regretfully.

"We will bring it back to its glory." Ajay promises him.

"I am holding you to that promise." Shakti tells him.

"We will, sir."

"What all you need for the team, Ajay?" Shakti asks him.

Ajay thoughtfully looks at Omkara and says, "You can get back to work."

Omkara nods and leaves.

*******

"That moron is passing off your work as his!" Omkara informs her in exasperation.

"It is team's work." Gauri tells him.

"It is your work! That guy doesn't do any work here. You are the one working your ass off. He is passing off your sweat and blood as his own." Omkara tells her angrily.

Gauri shrugs.

"How can you be okay with it?" Omkara asks her shocked.

Gauri bites her lips as she thoughtfully looked at him.

"Why do you let him do this?"

"I can't do all those presentation and all." Gauri tells him awkwardly.

"You make the presentation!"

"Yeah, but I can't go up there and do it." Gauri tells him awkwardly.

Omkara looks at her in shock. "You have stage fright?"

Gauri embarrassedly looks away.

"Oh my God! You've stage fright and you are letting that asshole steal your work and present it at his own?" Omkara asks her shocked.

"I don't have that...." Gauri thinks for the word then she says, "Oomph factor. I can't go and fight with everyone asking them to recognize what I am doing."

Omkara shakes his head. "Gauri, you're throwing away your career and your hard work because you can't tell people what you do!"

"I get nervous when people look at me and I forget what I am supposed to say."

"You can't let him rob you like that."

"Let it go, Omkara."

"No, you're going to work on it!" Omkara declares angrily.

*******

"Mock presentation?" Gauri asks shocked.

"Yes!" Omkara tells her. "You do a few mock presentations till you build up your confidence and next time Big Boss is here, you can do the presentation."

"Ajay won't let me." Gauri says shaking her head.

"You won't give him your presentation. He won't have any option because he won't have any presentation to give if you won't give him your work." Omkara tells her.

"I don't think it is going to work." Gauri says feeling fainting at the possibility.

"Everyday, an hour after work, you and me are going to practice till you are confident."

"I'll never be." Gauri worriedly says.

*******

"I erm... I erm... I would like to.... Erm show..." Gauri nervously gulps.

"Gauri, it's just me." Omkara tells her.

They were in the conference room after office hours.

"I can't." Gauri says shaking her head nervously. "Even with just you, I can't talk." Gauri says as she walked around the room nervously.

"What are you scared of, Gauri?"

"I won't remember anything."

"Gauri, you did everything. You don't have to mug up. You just have to tell everyone what you did." Omkara tells her.

"That won't look professional."

"There is no professional way to say it all. There is only a confident way to say what you did. All that matters is the attitude that you do the presentation."

"I don't have attitude."

"That is what we are working on. Just do it, Gauri."

"I will forget what I am supposed to say." Gauri says shaking her head.

"You have the slides to remind you."

"I'll make a fool of myself." Gauri worriedly says.

"Then you make a fool of yourself than let someone else make one out of you." Omkara gently tells her.

"You're mad!"

Omkara sighs loudly.

"I've work to do, Omkara." Gauri tells him shaking her head.

"This is also a part of your work." Omkara tells her sternly.

Gauri helplessly looks at him.

"Forget everything else. Just look at me and do your presentation." Omkara encourages her.

Gauri nods and walks to the screen. Omkara sits down and watches her.

Gauri takes a deep breath, and looks at Omkara. Then looking at him, she starts talking about what she did and the slides she made.

Every time, she forgot something, he mouthed it to her and Gauri would pick it off and continue.

"*phew* how did I do?" Gauri asks finishing.

"Amazing." Omkara says proudly.

Gauri sighs in relief, feeling happy and takes the bottle and drinks the water.

"Next time, though, remember to change the slides." Omkara tells her.

Gauri looks at the screen and stops in shock seeing that the presentation was still on the first slide, she laughs realizing she had forgot to change it.

Omkara chuckles seeing her so happy and proud.

Gauri smiles happily at Omkara. "Thank you."

"You are welcome." Omkara says smiling as he stood up. "So, next time, you'll do the presentation?"

"I need more practice."

"I am here for that."

Gauri was washing her hands in the ladies toilet when she hears "Hey Gauri!"

Gauri curiously turns back and sees Ishana from Finance department.

"Hi." Gauri smiles.

"Saw you with Omkara. You and Omkara are friends?" Ishana asks her curiously.

"Yeah." Gauri replies smiling.

"So, is it true?" Ishana asks her eagerly.

"True? What?" Gauri asks confused.

Ishana looks at her shocked. "You didn't hear?"

"What?"

Ishana eagerly moves towards her to share the gossip. "Ridhima accidentally told Arjun that Omkara is Shivaay Sir's best friend."

"Shivaay Sir's?" Gauri asks shocked. Omkara was their Boss's only son's best friend?

"Yeah, Ajay tried to get him fired and Shakti Sir told him that Omkara is Shivaay Sir's recommendation as he is his best friend. The way he was transferred from one department to another, Arjun is guessing he is working under cover for them." Ishana tells her.

"He didn't tell me anything." Gauri replies shocked, though she couldn't help remember how he always back answered Ajay.

*******

"Are you Shivaay Sir's best friend?" Gauri asks Omkara in shock.

"Where did you hear that from?" Omkara asks surprised.

"There is an office rumor." Gauri tells him. "Is it true?"

"Really?" Omkara asks surprised. "How did they find that out?"

"So, you are?" Gauri asks him shocked.

"Yeah." Omkara says. "He is my best friend. He gave me this job."

"As undercover?" Gauri asks scandalized.

"Undercover?" Omkara asks shocked.

"To find out how all of us are working here."

Omkara laughs hearing that.

"So, are you?"

"If I am, I can't tell you that, right?" Omkara cheekily asks her.

Gauri looks at him frowning in confusion and feeling a little betrayed.

"I didn't want anyone to know that I am Shivaay's friend. That I have a connection right to the top. So, I didn't tell anyone. Just because I am Shivaay's friend doesn't mean I can't be your friend, right?" Omkara asks her.

Gauri nods smiling.

"Anyway, tomorrow is your big day." Omkara reminds her.

Gauri nods. Shakti Sir and Shivaay Sir were coming for the quarterly year meeting, and each department had to present their department activity. She was going to do it.

"So, no working late today. Go home early and rest properly." Omkara tells her, knowing she would be nervous and worried.

"But one last practice before I leave." Gauri tells him.

"Okay." Omkara agrees smiling.

"Where is the presentation?" Ajay asks Gauri the next day angrily. "Why didn't you mail it to me yesterday?"

"I'll do the presentation." Gauri tells him.

"What?" Ajay looks at her in shock.

"I made it and I'll do it."

"You will do the presentation?" Ajay asks her angrily.

"Yes." Gauri replies gulping worriedly as she darted glances at Omkara.

Ajay follows her gaze and sees Omkara. "Are you showing attitude because you are friend's with Shivaay's friend? Just remember that Shakti Sir is in charge."

"I did the work, so I'll show it." Gauri tells him nervously. "If you want to present it then you make your own presentation."

"Fine." Ajay says furiously and walks off.

"Come." Omkara tells her.

"But he didn't call me." Gauri replies worriedly.

Omkara gives her an exasperated look. "It is team meeting, Gauri. Each team member is invited by the Boss. Didn't you get the memo from HR?"

"I did..." Gauri replies worriedly as she gathered her stuff.

"Gauri, can I ask you something?" Omkara asks her gently.

"When did you need permission?" Gauri asks him smiling.

Omkara chuckles. "Last quarterly, how much did you get bonus?"

"One month salary." Gauri tells him smiling happily.

"One month?" Omkara asks shocked.

"Yeah." Gauri tells him happily.

Omkara shakes his head in fury.

"What happened?" Gauri asks him confused.

"I asked Shivaay about the bonus. The way he is stealing your work, I was suspicious."

"And?" Gauri asks confused.

"Shivaay told me what the bonus was given for IT department."

"Oh... and?" Gauri asks feeling apprehensive.

"Unlike the main office, here the management isn't that strong. So, each department tells them what they did and how much money that department brought to company and what bonus they want based on that."

"Hmmm."

"The amount that was given to IT department, you should be getting three times your salary or maybe more." Omkara tells her.

"Oh." Gauri replies disappointed. Then confused she asks him. "How do you know my salary?"

"I worked in Finance department. I know everyone's salary." Omkara tells her.

"He really did loot me, right?" Gauri asks Omkara sadly.

"He did and you let him." Omkara tells her.

Gauri sadly looks down. "I was so honest in my work."

Omkara keeps his hand on her shoulder. "And your work will be honest to you. You just bring yourself to everyone's notice. Then I will tell Shivaay what is happening. I promise."

Gauri nods. Then taking a deep breath, she walks to the conference room.

"Ajay, why don't you start the presentation?" Shakti asks him smiling.

"I thought for a change, I'll let Gauri do the presentation." Ajay tells him smiling.

Omkara rolls his eyes hearing that.

"Okay, sure." Shakti nods. "You can start, Gauri."

"All the best." Omkara whispers to her.

Gauri nods as she nervously gulped and walked to the screen. She connects her presentation and she turns to face the people. Seeing everyone's gaze on her, Gauri nervously stares in shock.

"You can start." Ajay tells her smirking.

Gauri gulps, feeling scared and wanting to cry. "Er... Good... er good morning...er..."

Seeing Gauri so pale and almost ready to faint, Omkara quickly stands up.

Gauri nervously looks at Omkara, fighting her tears.

"What happened, Omkara?" Shivaay asks him confused.

"I can't see the screen, too much glare. I'll just dim the lights."

"It is already dim." Ajay tells Omkara.

"Then I'll turn it off because I can't see the screen." Omkara says as he switched off the lights.

As the room turned dark with just the light from the presentation screen, Gauri takes a sigh of relief. She closes her eyes and thought of the nights when it was just Omkara and her. She opens her eyes, and she couldn't see anyone, in her mind, it was just Omkara and her.

"Whenever you are ready, Gauri." Omkara's encouraging sound reaches her.

"Good morning everyone. The last quarter..." Gauri confidently starts the presentation.

The lights turn on, and Gauri hears claps. Gauri smiles feeling so proud of herself.

"Well done, Gauri." Omkara tells her proudly smiling at her.

Gauri happily smiles at him, with a hint of tears in her eyes.

"I am surprised why she never came for any team meetings." Shakti asks confused.

Ajay awkwardly looks at Shakti. "We are always working around deadlines." Ajay says.

Shakti nods.

"But team meeting means the whole team." Shivaay points out frowning.

"Next meeting onwards she will be there." Ajay tells them.

"I have to say, I am mighty impressed that you two managed to do all that." Shivaay says.

Ajay proudly smiles.

Omkara looks at Gauri and she looks at him. He gestures her to speak up. But Gauri doesn't say anything.

"I don't understand why you didn't ask for more people in your team." Shivaay says.

"We are more than enough." Ajay says smiling.

Omkara furiously glares at Gauri but she doesn't say anything.

"We have plans for the IT department. We'll discuss them soon." Shivaay tells Ajay and Gauri.

Ajay and Gauri nods.

"Good work, Gauri." Shivaay tells her smiling.

"Thank you, Shivaay Sir." Gauri tells him smiling happily.

"Oh please, call me Shivaay." Shivaay says shocked. "Let the Sir calling end with his generation." Shivaay says pointing at Shakti.

Gauri chuckles hearing that. Shivaay was a sweet guy, no wonder he was Omkara's best friend.

Shakti rolls his eyes then smiling at Gauri, he says. "Nice presentation, Gauri."

"Thank you, Sir." Gauri smiles at him.

"Her presentation is just like how you do, Ajay. Detailed but still on point. You taught her well." Shakti says impressed.

"Thank you." Ajay says with fake politeness.

Hearing that, Gauri looks at Omkara and he rolls his eyes, giving up. Remembering how much he had worked and helped her for this presentation, she couldn't let Ajay take the credit.

"I made those presentations." Gauri informs him.

Omkara smiles proudly while Ajay looks at her in shock.

"What?" Shakti asks confused.

"I prepared all the presentations." Gauri informs him.

"Oh. I thought Ajay did." Shakti says confused.

"But if you did, why didn't you present it?" Shivaay asks confused.

"I've stage fright." Gauri tells them.

"But you were brilliant up there." Shakti says confused.

"Omkara helped me prepare and practice." Gauri tells them as she smiled at Omkara.

"he did?" Shivaay asks as he turned to look at Omkara in shock.

"She is my friend." Omkara tells Shivaay with a shrug.

"Good job, Omkara." Shakti says smiling.

Omkara blushes hearing that.

Gauri and Omkara waited as everyone left the room. The moment the last person left, they turn to each other.

"You were amazing." Omkara tells her smiling so proudly.

"Thank you!" Gauri tells him as she ran to him and hugged him.

Omkara hugs her happily.

"I never thought I could do it." Gauri tells him so happy and excited at her success.

"I always knew." Omkara tells her.

Hearing that, Gauri moves back to look at him. Seeing the way, he was so sweetly and proudly smiling at her, Gauri couldn't control herself and she moves towards him.

Seeing her moving towards him, Omkara without thinking, meets her halfway and takes her lips in his, and they kiss.

They part breathless. Omkara lovingly caresses her cheek as he smiled at her. Gauri happily smiles at him.

As they happily smiled at each other, Omkara came to his senses first. Realizing what he did, he steps back in shock.

"Shit." Omkara mutters in shock.

"What happened?" Gauri asks him in confusion.

"We shouldn't have." Omkara nervously says.

"Why?" Gauri asks him softly.

"It's office, Gauri." Omkara says as he moved back. "Shivaay is waiting for me." Omkara mutters and leaves.

He didn't come after that. Gauri had waited for him for a long while. Disappointed she had left office. The next day, she came early and waited for Omkara to come.

"Hey." Omkara says softly from the door.

Gauri looks up and seeing him, she sighs in relief and she hurries to him. "Where did you go yesterday?"

"I was with Shivaay. You know, catching up." Omkara tells her.

"Oh okay." Gauri smiles.

"Listen, Gauri..." Omkara nervously starts.

Seeing his hesitation, she asks him sadly, "you don't like me?"

"It's not that." Omkara says shaking his head.

"Then?" Gauri asks sadly.

"I just need some time." Omkara tells her.

"Why?"

"Please don't ask anything. I just need time. I'll explain everything later. I promise."

Gauri nods.

"I got transferred to marketing." Omkara tells her.

"Did you ask Shivaay for it?" Gauri asks him hurt.

Omkara nods. "I kind of did."

Gauri hurt looks away.

"I'll explain everything later."

"Why not now?" Gauri asks fighting her tears.

"Now, I can't."

Gauri nods and turns to walk back to her seat.

"Did Ajay say anything?" Omkara asks her.

"He was just glaring at me." Gauri replies without looking at him.

"Okay... I'll see you around." Omkara tells her.

Gauri nods.

After that day, Omkara didn't talk to her. She would see him around office but he didn't talk to her, so she also didn't talk to him or trouble him. Though her heart was broken, she held on to his request for time, hoping whatever the issue was, they would sort it out and get together one day.

2 weeks later.

Every staff was called for an emergency meeting. Gauri walks into the conference room with the rest of the staff and sees Omkara with Shakti and Shivaay.

"Is everyone here?" Shakti asks as he looked around the room.

"Yes, sir." Ridhima informs him.

Shakti looks at all and says, "I called you all here to make an announcement."

Everyone silently listened.

Shakti gently keeps his hand on Omkara's shoulder. "Omkara is no stranger to you all. But there is something that none of you know, it is that, Omkara owns this company and not me."

Gauri turns to look at Omkara in shock and sees him watching her. Hearing a gasp near her, Gauri curiously looks and sees Ajay staring at Omkara in shock, he was pale as a ghost.

"This was actually my brother's company. When he passed away, Omkara was small and I was entrusted with the responsibility of this company along with all of his other companies. Because of having to manage my companies, bhai Saab's other companies... this was a small company and since it was so far away from Mumbai, I couldn't give it the attention that it required. After Omkara finished his training with me, and when he noticed that a lot of mismanagement was happening here." Shakti guiltily stops and says, "because of my negligence, we thought to right it. So, Omkara joined here and worked in each department to personally find out what was the issues here, without telling you all who he is."

Gauri stares at Omkara in shock hearing that he was her boss, no wonder he had ended things with her. Gulping she looks down.

"Now, Omkara will be taking the responsibility of this company." Shakti says. "Omkara will speak to you all now."

"Hello everyone." Omkara says as he stepped forward. "I know, most of you will feel cheated but this was required and it was for the company. I was your friend, and I hope you will continue to treat me like one."

Gauri looks up at him and sees him looking at her, then he turns to look at everyone.

"One of the reasons I had come here..." Omkara stops then chuckling he says, "like many had suspected "undercover" was to decide whether I want to keep this company or not. I am happy to inform you all that this company has a lot of potential."

Everyone smiles proudly.

"But we need to make a lot of changes." Omkara says then getting into his Boss mode, he says, "Finance department. You guys are doing good but there are a two or three of you, that need to buck up. I'll be talking to you personally. Marketing department. Good job. I realize that you have lot of budget issues, we will work on that."

The marketing department smiles happily.

"Sales department. You were working on the old management policies which is not working that well for you or the company, we will sort it out. We need to bring those sales number up."

The sales teams smiles and nods.

Gauri and Ajay takes a nervous breath as they were the only team remaining.

"IT department."

Gauri gulps and looks at Ajay and sees that he was ready to faint, looking so scared.

"Amazing job." Omkara says.

Gauri and Ajay stares at Omkara in shock.

"For a one man army, Gauri you really did an amazing job." Omkara clarifies.

Gauri stares at Omkara in shock. Ajay nervously gulps.

"You are really short-handed. We'll recruit more people for your team and we will be expanding the IT department."

Gauri and Ajay nods.

"Ajay..." Omkara calls him.

"Er... yes?" Ajay steps forward.

"You are fired." Omkara tells him.

"But..." Ajay looks at Shakti for help.

"If it wasn't for Omkara, I would have never realized how you were fooling me and utilizing Gauri's hard work to show as your own." Shakti says in disgust.

Gauri felt a sense of relief rush through for having Shakti Sir acknowledge her hard work.

"Gauri..." Omkara calls her.

Gauri looks at him.

"From now on, you'll be heading the IT department." Omkara informs her.

Gauri still reeling from all the shocks of the day, shakes her head in yes.

Omkara shakes his head in disappointment. "I thought, I taught you well, Gauri. You got promoted and not even bothering to negotiate your new contract and salary?"

Gauri's mouth drops open hearing him.

"Very disappointed in you." Omkara tells her shaking his head with a grin.

Gauri couldn't help blush.

Guar didn't see Omkara after the meeting and she understood that he was busy meeting with other staff.

Gauri was reaching her house when she notices a car in front of her house. Seeing the expensive car, Gauri's heart skips a beat, as her heart instantly whispered that it was Omkara. Gauri runs to her home.

She comes to a stop in shock noticing Omkara, Shakti, Shivaay and Shakti's wife, Pinky with her parents.

Seeing her, her mother quickly hurries to her and taking her hand, she takes her to the bedroom.

"Why didn't you tell me they were coming?" Vasundhara asks her shocked.

"I didn't know they were coming." Gauri tells her reeling from the shock. "Why are they hear?" Gauri asks wanting to confirm before her heart jumped into any conclusions.

"They said that you and Omkara love each other and they wanted to talk about marriage." Vasundhara informs her.

"Love? Marriage?" Gauri asks shocked.

"You don't love him?" Vasundhara asks confused.

"I do... but we never talked about it." Gauri tells her lost in thoughts.

Vasundhara smiles and says "You freshen up and come."

"Gauri will come now." Vasundhara informs them as she sat down.

They nod.

"Gauri was saying that you both didn't talk about love and marriage." Vasundhara gently says.

Omkara nods. "We didn't get a chance to talk."

"When he told us that he loves her, we decided that, no dating and all... straight marriage." Pinky says as she glared at Shivaay.

"Oh." Harsh looks at them confused. "But why? Shouldn't they get to know each other?"

"Let's just say, we learned it the hard way." Shakti says glaring at Shivaay.

Vasundhara and Harsh curiously looks at Shivaay.

"I got married 5 months back." Shivaay informs them.

"Oh, why didn't your wife come?" Vasundhara asks curiously.

Embarrassed, Shivaay informs them, "Er... my wife is in her third trimester. She can't travel."

"Oh." Vasundhara's eyes widen scandalized.

Omkara looks down as he chuckled. Shivaay kicks him to stop him.

Hearing Gauri come, Omkara looks up. "I wanted to talk to Gauri."

They both walk outside. Gauri stops and turns to look at Omkara.

"Hi." Omkara says, as he extended his hand. "I'm Omkara Singh Oberoi. I own the company you work in."

"Why didn't you tell me? Did you think I would tell everyone?" Gauri asks him hurt.

"Chote Papa is like my father. And when he decided that I would go undercover and work, and no one was supposed to find out who I am. If anyone gets suspicious then the maximum I could tell them was that I am Shivaay's best friend and that is why I was getting so freedom there. He raised me Gauri, I couldn't go against his decision. That is why I didn't tell you. Not because I didn't trust you." Omkara explains.

"When you didn't talk to me I was so hurt." Gauri complains sadly.

"You thought I was someone else. If we started a relation then it would mean I cheated you. I couldn't do that to you, Gauri. I couldn't betray you like that. And if we started a relation then I couldn't and shouldn't hide who I am from you."

Gauri nods sadly.

"Can you forgive me?" Omkara asks her.

Gauri nods.

"I love you." Omkara tells her smiling happily.

"I know. Mama told me!" Gauri tells him glaring angrily at him. "You should have told me that. Not her."

"Aww I didn't know she would tell you before me." Omkara tells her smiling lovingly as he hugged her.

Gauri hugs him, feeling happily, relieved and loved. "i love you."

"Will you marry me?" Omkara asks her.

Gauri nods. "Yes."

"But there is something." Omkara tells her.

"What?" Gauri asks as she looked at him.

"Most of my work is in Mumbai. If you decide to work here then I will shift here but most of the time I will be traveling to Mumbai as I have to handle the companies there. If you don't mind joining the Mumbai office then we can stay there and come here only once or twice a month."

"You gave me promotion." Gauri reminds him.

"Because you deserved it. I had to acknowledge your contribution to the company. But whatever you decide we will work it out." Omkara promises her.

Gauri nods. "We'll talk it out and decide." Gauri tells him smiling.

Omkara smiles. "We'll." Omkara says as he took her lips in his and kissed her.

I know this story sucked big time with not much story and a very predictable story. I wanted to post a story and only this story I could come up with.
