My Village Belle

Thanks to all for voting and commenting on the previous story. Here is the new story.

This story is highly inspired from Roja, mainly on Rishi-Roja. It is my tribute or rather my "plagiarized" version of that awesome love story.

P.S: My hindi is not that great, so I will be writing the dialogues in english but please assume that it is in hindi.

Omkara took in the serene beauty of the village where his parents were born as the SUV sped through. He turns to see how his mother was taking the drive and finds her sleeping; she might have been really tired from the travel, he thought as no one could sleep through this bumpy ride. He leans back on his seat as he closed his eyes with a happy smile on his face. This is the first time he was coming to his ancestral village, his parents had eloped to Mumbai and got married. He was born and raised in Mumbai but all his life he had heard about the beautiful Bareilly and it's people from his parents. Without even seeing the place, he had fallen in love with it and the people.

Last week when his mother had told him that it was time for him to get married and what kind of girl he wanted to marry, he had put forth only one demand, the girl should be from Bareilly. He smiles remembering his parents' joyous expression. His father had immediately tried contacting his old friend from village. It took him a few days to track him down, and was delighted to hear that he was still in Bareilly and had two daughters of marriageable age. When his father had put forth the proposal they were ecstatic. And now they were on their way to meet the girl.

Omkara smiles wondering how the girl would be, he was already in love with his village belle. Having been living in the modern society he somehow never found any interest in the city bred girls, his mind and heart filled with Bareilly and its people. Since long he knew if there was a girl for him he would find her in Bareilly. He knew she would have difficulty adjusting to his city life, she would even find communicating with people from his circle difficult, and there was a high chance she wouldn't even know English but it didn't matter to him, he knew he will help her with every step and both his parents were raised in Bareilly and they have adjusted to the city life very easily, and he had no worries.

"It has changed a lot."
Omkara hears his mother saying in wonder. Looks like his mother woke up from her sleep.
"That was what I was thinking. Lot of progress, since we left." Tej says amazed.
Jhanvi opens the window and inhales and says dramatically, "But smells the same."
Omkara chuckles hearing that. "Dad, do you want me to drive? You might be tired." Omkara says looking at his father worried.
"No, I am fine. You were driving since we left Mumbai. You rest now." Tej says as he continued driving as he took in the view.

By late evening they reach Tej's old house. Tej gets emotional seeing his younger brother and parents whom he had lost touch with when he had left years ago. They were equally happy to see them and welcomed them open heartedly, forgetting their anger. Jhanvi was also nostalgic seeing her family as she caught up with them. Tej and Jhanvi were neighbors and had fallen in love. Omkara visited both his paternal and maternal family. Much later, feeling tired he decided to call it a day. Tomorrow was his big day as he was going to see his village belle.

Next day morning, they all left for Sharma house. As Tej and Anand talked about their life and was catching up, Omkara impatiently waited for his village belle. Finally losing his patience, Omkara keeps looking at Tej and the moment Tej looks at him, Omkara glares at him.
Realizing he had forgot why he had come there in the first place he says, "It's been an hour we are here and we haven't met your daughter yet." Tej quickly says giving Omkara an apologetic look.
"Oh yes! I forgot! Seeing you after so long I just forgot the reason why you were here." Anand says and turns to Padmini and says, "Call Gayathri."
Padmini brings Gayathri out who was wearing a saree as she nervously walked in looking down.
"Come sit here." Jhanvi invites her near her and Gayathri sits next to her while Omkara slyly looks at her. She was a beautiful girl. "I got a gift for you." Jhanvi says as she handed her the saree she had got for her. Then turning to Padmini she asks, "Padu, where is your other daughter? Gauri."
"Gauriii..." Padmini calls her and Gauri comes out smiling happily and says Namaste. Then she turns to boldly look at Omkara. She looks him top to bottom and then smiles approvingly.
Omkara looks at her in shock. Her sister hadn't even looked at him once, but this Gauri had checked him out boldly and even approved him if he was to go by her bright smile.
"This is for you." Jhanvi says as she hands her a saree.
Gauri happily takes the saree and says "Taanku."
Omkara smiles hearing her, seeing him smiling at her she smiles proudly having said her English correctly. Gauri checks out the saree.
Seeing Gauri looking at the saree Jhanvi says smiling, "I hope you like it."
"You got it wrong, aunty."
"GAURI!" Anand scolds her.
"Yes?" Gauri turns to her father in polite interest ignoring the fact that he had just scolded her making Omkara grin.
"Why is it wrong?" Jhanvi asks to avoid any scene.
"You see, green suits di more and red suits me more." Gauri explains.
"Oh! I didn't know that." Jhanvi says disappointed.
"That's okay, aunty. We will exchange." Gayathri finally says.
Omkara's face falls as he had selected the red one for his village belle. Watches sadly as the sisters exchanged the sarees.

"We should let them talk alone." Tej tells Anand and Anand agrees and sends them outside but right under his watchful eyes. Omkara stood next to Gayathri as he thought of what to tell her when his eyes caught Gauri happily chattering with his mother. He smiles seeing her innocence. Then realizes that she was telling the truth that red suited her more when she models for his mother the saree he had picked.
"Your sister..." Omkara says chuckling.
Gayathri looks at her sister and says, "She is always like that."
Omkara nods and turns to look at Gayathri deciding he was wasting his time on Gauri unnecessarily as he was here to see Gayathri.
"I always wanted to marry someone from Bareilly." he tells her.
"I can't marry you. I am sorry. I love someone else." Gayathri tells him.
"What?" Omkara asks her shocked.
"Please tell them you didn't like me." Gayathri begs.
"I came here from Mumbai just to see you and you are saying that there is someone else? If that was the case, why did you let this go on till now?" Omkara asks in a furious whisper.
"I couldn't tell my parents. How can I tell them?" Gayathri asks helplessly.
Omkara looks at her for a while and says, "Fine, come with me. I will tell them."
"Please don't do that. If they find out that I asked you to back out they will never forgive me. Everyone here thinks that it is my fortune that a guy from the city is willing to marry me but I love another." Gayathri tells him in tears.
Omkara looks at her helplessly as he wondered what to do.

Omkara walks back in with Gayathri trailing behind him.
"So?" Tej asks excited.
"Did you like her?" Anand asks equally excited.
Omkara looks at his parents and sees them looking at him with excitement. He remembers their joy when he told them that he wanted to marry from Bareilly. He was wondering what to do when he hears a fervent chanting
"Say yes.. say yes.. say yes" Omkara turns to the whisper and sees Gauri chanting as she looked at him.
Omkara keeps watching her. Seeing him staring at her, Gauri stops her prayer and looks at him confused.
"Om?" Jhanvi gently says his name as she looked at him staring at Gauri.
Looking at Gauri, Omkara says "I liked Gauri."
He hears everyone gasping but he ignored them as he watched her looking at him in shock.
"Om?" Tej angrily says his name as he held his hand.
Omkara turns to look at Anand and says, "Let us know about Gauri's decision. We will take your leave now." Omkara turns to his parents and says, "Let's go." And he walks out without waiting for them.

As Omkara drove the car he filled in on his parents what had happened between Gayathri and him.
"You should have just told me the truth. I would have handled it some other way." Tej says worried that his son might have offended his friend and his family. "I don't know what Anand will do now." Tej worries.
"And what if they say yes?" Jhanvi asks.
"I will marry Gauri." Omkara answers before Tej could say anything. It had taken him a moment to realize that Gauri had managed to grab his attention away from Gayathri multiple times, so if he was to marry Anand uncle's daughter then it should be Gauri, not Gayathri.

Two days later, Anand had called saying it was a yes from their side. He had also informed him that Gayathri's marriage was fixed with their neighbor's son whom Jhanvi had later informed Omkara to be the man Gayathri was in love with. Omkara was happy for Gayathri and for himself.

Now his village belle had a name and a face. He replayed meeting Gauri constantly in his mind, her excited chatter, her checking him out and approving him, her taanku, and the fact that the saree he had picked for his village belle had ended up with her itself. He wanted to meet her and hear her endless chattering but he was forbidden to meet her before the wedding. The only consolation was that they were getting married in three days. Ever since he had decided that he wanted to marry Gauri, his mind and heart were filled with her.

Three days later, they were married so were Gayathri and her lover. Since Tej and Jhanvi wanted to stay with their families for a few more days, it was decided that they would stay in Bareilly for three more days before they leave to Mumbai. Omkara and Gauri were to stay in Tej's house.

Omkara excitedly walks into his bedroom. He was tired after the wedding but then today was his suhaag raat and he was excited too. He opens the door and enters it. He locks the door and walks to the bed to find Gauri already sleeping. He looks at her in shock as she slept on the edge of the bed curled up.
"Gauri..." Omkara calls her name gently as he got in the bed next to her.
When she didn't wake up Omkara sighs and lies back. She might have been tired from the wedding, it did go on forever. Omkara closes his eyes and tries to sleep as he tried forgetting his Gauri was lying next to him while Gauri opens her eyes and relaxes realizing he had gone to sleep.

Omkara wakes up to find Gauri missing. He was about to go look for her when the bathroom door opens and she comes out wiping her hair. He watches her as she continued to dry her hair in front of the mirror. She was looking so beautiful with her wet hair. Gauri dries her hair with the towel as she tried to ignore him. She was wearing her bangles when suddenly he grabbed and hugged her from behind. She starts struggling as he tightened his arms around her stomach. She was not used to being so close to a man, and this man she disliked was hugging her.
"You slept off on our suhaag raat." Omkara tells her as he kisses her on her neck.
Gauri closes her eyes as she struggled to free herself. Her heart started beating fast when he started nuzzling her neck. She liked it and hated it at the same time. She hated that he was touching her while what he was doing to her was exciting her. They hear someone knocking on the door Omkara gets distracted for a second and she manages to free herself. She was about to run to the door when he catches her again and pulls her towards him facing him now. "I will get you tonight." Omkara tells her and then he leans down and bites her gently on her neck.
Gauri gasps as she touched where he had bit her. She looks at him shocked and scared. They hear the knock on the door again and he walks to the bathroom whistling happily.

The rest of the day Gauri stuck to Jhanvi like glue trying to avoid Omkara. But he had caught up with her in the kitchen again. Jhanvi had stepped out of the kitchen for a second and Gauri was alone in the kitchen when she felt a hand snake through her stomach under her saree. She gasps and jumps up when Omkara tightens his hold on her, plants a quick kiss on her cheek. Gauri stares at him in wide eyed shock when he moves away and stand as if nothing had happened seeing Jhanvi coming back to the kitchen.
"You wanted something Om?" Jhanvi asks him.
"Tea." Omkara replies and walks out as he looked at Gauri.
Jhanvi shakes her head and says, "He is drinking tea all the time. Morning, noon, night he drinks tea. From now on, you take care of all his things." Jhanvi tells her smiling. "Why don't you make his tea?"
"But I don't know how he likes it." Gauri says hesitantly.
"I will tell you." Jhanvi says smiling.

Gauri walks into their room to find Omkara with his computer (laptop). She walks to him and offers him the tea. Omkara keeps away his laptop and takes the tea from her. She was about to walk back when he keeps the tea on the table and pulls her on to his lap.
"That day you were chattering away and now you are so silent. Why? Are you that shy?" Omkara asks her as he kissed her on her cheeks and then he slowly starts giving her tiny bites on her ear lobes.
Gauri feels Goosebumps all over her body. She hated herself for liking his touch. She starts breathing hard as he started kissing her from her ears traveling through her cheeks to her lips. He kisses her on the corner of her lips.
"Say something, Gauri. I just want to hear your voice." Omkara tells her.
He was about to kiss her on her lips when she looks away and says "I need to go down."
Omkara leans back as he studied her face. "You want to go down?"
Gauri nods her head.
"Okay." Omkara says releasing her.
She quickly gets up from his lap and was about to run down when he holds her hand and tells her, "Tonight you won't be able to escape so easily."
Omkara leaves her and Gauri hurries down as his words kept ringing in her ears. His words were scarring her to the core and also a part was getting excited hearing him say that.

Thinking what was going to happen that night, Gauri started panicking and soon she had a pounding headache. Gauri was rubbing her head trying to ease her headache when Jhanvi asks her "What happened, Gauri?"
"Nothing. I am having a headache." Gauri replies.
"Why don't you have your dinner and sleep early?" Jhanvi asks.
When Gauri starts hesitating thinking if she goes to the room to sleep her husband would follow her.
"Come have your food." Jhanvi says as she serves her.
"But.." Gauri starts hesitating.
"I will give Om's food later when he is hungry." Jhanvi says assuming that was why Gauri was hesitating.
Gauri starts eating though in her nervousness she was not feeling hungry or getting any taste of the food. After having dinner she hurries to the room and relaxes seeing it empty. She quickly gets on the bed and closes her eyes.
A second later, she hears the door opening "Gauri, mom said you are not feeling well."
Gauri just couldn't act as if she didn't hear that like the previous night because of the worry in his voice. She sits up and tells him, "I am having a headache."
"Don't get up. Lie down." Omkara says as he got on the bed with her. He gently pushes her back on the bed and sits next to her. "Did you apply any balm?"
"No. I will be fine in the morning." Gauri replies.
"You sure?" he asks worried and not convinced.
"Yes."
"Okay. Then you sleep." Omkara tells her as he gently patted her on her head.
The whole day he had been talking about consummating. He didn't hide the fact that how much he wanted to sleep with her but now he has put aside his desires for her.
"Sleep, Gauri."
"You go have your dinner. I will sleep." Gauri tells him.
"After you sleep, I will go." Omkara says as he stretched out next to her and gently pressed her head.
Gauri looks at him as she saw the genuine concern for her on his face. She closes her eyes as tears stung her eyes. She was beginning to betray her sister; she was starting to like him.

Next day, Gauri wakes up early to find her husband sleeping next to her, hugging her. She quietly gets up without waking him up and hurries to the bathroom to shower. After shower she hurries to leave the room before he wakes up. She was about to open the door when he says her name, "Gauri."
Gauri turns back to look at him and find him sitting on the bed with his hair all messed up. She had the uncontrollable urge to pull his cheeks.
"How is your headache?"
"It's gone."
"Okay. Good." Omkara smiles at her. "I am going to sleep for some more time." Omkara tells her and goes back to sleep. Gauri heaves a sigh of relief and hurries out of the room.

Omkara, Tej, Tej's parents and his brother were eating while Gauri and Jhanvi were serving them.
"Mom, Gauri, sit and have food with us." Omkara tells them.
"You sit. I'll serve." Gauri tells Jhanvi.
"Everything is here. You also sit." Omkara tells her.
Jhanvi and Gauri sits. Gauri ignoring the chair next to Omkara, she sits on the chair opposite to him. She was eating when she felt his leg on her toes. She looks up in shock and sees him looking down at his plate as he ate. Slowly his leg creeps up her foot and under her saree. He starts feeling up her leg as he run his leg on hers. She tries to kick his leg off.
"What happened, Gauri?" Tej asks seeing her dancing around in the chair.
"Nothing." Gauri say quickly sitting still.
She angrily looks at her husband and he cheekily grins at her as his leg touched the underside of her knee. Gauri starts breathing faster as her heart started slamming against her chest. His touch was creating havoc on her senses and her body was getting excited. She willed herself to find repulsion to his touch but she couldn't. Not able to stand the excitement she quickly gets up from the table and runs off.
"What happened?" Jhanvi wonders out loud.
"Maybe she is done eating." Tej says shrugging.
"Mom, I was thinking after breakfast Gauri and I will go for a walk and she can show me around the place." Gauri hears her husband saying. "Okay." She heard the reply.

Gauri and Omkara were walking around as she showed him around the place.
"Take me to your favorite place here." Omkara tells her.
"My favorite place? Why?" Gauri asks frowning.
"Because I want to see." Omkara says smiling as he pulls her close to him.
Gauri sees two people coming from the opposite side and she quickly jumps away. Omkara chuckles seeing her shyness and they start walking again.
"This is the place." Gauri says as she took him to the water fall.
"WOW! This is so beautiful!" Omkara says as he took in the water fall. It was the most beautiful sight in the whole of Bareilly, obviously after his wife. "Does people get down in there?" Omkara asks her.
"Yes. People are taking a bath there all the time. Strangely no one is there now. Maybe because it is close to noon that is why." Gauri explains.
"Then come, we will take a bath there." Omkara says taking her hand as he started walking towards the water fall.
Gauri felt excitement run through her, ever since she had hit puberty her mother had forbidden her to come here and play in the waters. She used to love doing that and missed that terribly.
"Someone will come." Gauri says as she pulls him to stop.
"So? We are not going to be naked! We will just get into the fully dressed" Omkara says rolling his eyes. Omkara starts to walk again.
"Suniye ji." Gauri says holding his hand.
"Suniyeji?" Omkara says smiling.
"My name is Omkara." he tells her.
"I know." Gauri tells him.
"Then call me by my name." Omkara tells her.
Gauri shakes her head in no scandalized.
Omkara smiles seeing her reaction and says, "Okay, you can call me suniyeji or munnu ke papa.. whatever you want."
Gauri looks at him shocked hearing munnu ke papa.
"On second thoughts I don't want to name our kid Munnu... we will think of something else. Till then you call me Suniyeji." Omkara says chuckling.
Then he starts to walk towards the water fall again.
"Maa has told me not to play in the water anymore." Gauri tells him.
"Why?" Omkara asks frowning.
"Because I am not a kid anymore and it is not safe for a big girl to bath in the open." Gauri tells him.
"You are with me, Gauri. You will be safe with me." Omkara tells her as he pulled her and walked to the water fall.
The moment the cold water hits her Gauri shrieks in excitement. She starts jumping in joy, she had missed this. Seeing her excitement Omkara smiles happily, this was the girl he had met that day and fell in love with. He stood in the water as he watched her excitedly playing. He cups water in his hand and throws it on her face and she in her excitement retaliates forgetting everything. Soon they were throwing water at each other laughing.

Finally noticing how her saree clung to her body Omkara gets turned on. He moves close to her. Seeing him come close to her Gauri steps back and she kept moving back as he came closer to her. Then she hits a barrier. She looks at him wide eyed as he smiled seeing her pressed against the rock nowhere to go. Omkara moves closer to her keeps his hands on her side imprisoning her. He leans down and kisses her on her temple and she closes her eyes forgetting everything else but him. Omkara gently lifts up her face and with his thumb he gently pulls on her chin opening her mouth. He leans further down and takes her lips in his, he starts kissing her gently then urgently. He groans when she hugs him pulling him closer to her and kissed him back in equal vigor.

Slowly they part, and Omkara looked at her face smiling and she shyly smiles back at him.
"Aye gaon ki gori." Omkara calls her.
"Haan." Gauri smiles at him.
"English samaj mein aata hai?"
"Thoda thoda." Gauri tells him smiling.
"I love you." Omkara tells her smiling and Gauri happily smiles at him. Then her smile freezes on her face as she remembers his words "I liked Gauri." She finally comes to her sense as she realized what she did with him. She pushes him off and runs away crying. "Gauri, stop!" Omkara shouts at her as he watched her run.

Omkara hurries into his room to find Gauri cowering in the corner crying. "Gauri, what happened?" Omkara asks her as he knelt down in front of her. "Why are you crying?" he asks as he worriedly cups her face.
Gauri angrily pushes him away, "Don't touch me. You can't touch me. You shouldn't touch me!"
"I shouldn't? Goddammit I am your husband!" Omkara reminds her.
"You were not supposed to marry me. You were supposed to marry my di. How could you do it? What was wrong with my sister? Why did you reject her?" Gauri angrily asks him.
"I didn't reject your sister." Omkara tells her.
"You did! You said, I liked Gauri! You broke my sister's heart. Did you ever think what she might have gone through? And everyone blamed me for snatching away her fortune!" Gauri angrily says.
"I am sorry people feel like that. The truth is your sister rejected me." Omkara tells her.
"She didn't!"
"She told me she couldn't marry me as she was in love with someone else and asked me to back out of the wedding. She forbid me from telling your father the truth. And I couldn't break my parent's heart by refusing to marry his friend's daughter. So I said I liked you."
"It's not true."
"It is. And your sister did marry the man she loved." Omkara informs her.
Gauri looks at him shocked and asks "Why didn't you tell me this?"
"I don't know. Maybe I thought you knew about it. I don't know why I didn't talk about it to you. Maybe I forgot about the whole incident when I decided to marry you. Nothing else was in mind my other than you." Omkara tells her. "If you want you can believe me. If you want you can even ask your sister whether what I am saying is true." Omkara tells her.
"I believe you." Gauri tells him as she thought about it.
"Just so you know, even if I had said yes to your sister, I might have called off the wedding because from the moment I met you I was affected by you." Omkara tells her as he started to walk out of the door.
"I am sorry." Gauri tells him.
"its okay, Gauri. You were just being loyal to your sister." Omkara tells her.

Rest of the day, she didn't see him though she hoped he would come kiss her like the way he did the previous day. Suddenly she was missing him. Realizing that there is nothing wrong with liking him had made her happy and relieved as she admitted to herself that she liked him.

During dinner, Omkara politely smiled at her and then ignored her throughout the dinner. Later they went to room and Gauri's heart started beating in excitement and anticipation. Finally they were in their room and Gauri shyly looks at him.
"Good night, Gauri." Omkara says as he got on the bed and went to sleep.
Gauri sadly lay next to him.

Gauri woke up earlier than usual as she couldn't sleep the previous night. Worry was gripping her heart. She showers and comes out to find her husband still sleeping. She starts opening and closing the cupboards loudly in order to wake him up as she was scared to wake him up herself. Finally, he wakes up hearing all the racket she was making.
"What time is it?" Omkara asks frowning.
"5." "Why are you up so early?"
"I woke up early." Gauri says as she sat next to him on the bed.
"Today we are going back home, right? I will also get up." Omkara says and gets up from the bed.
Gauri nervously walked around the room as Omkara took his shower.

Finally, he comes out and starts getting ready while Gauri stood behind him to get his attention. Once ready he was about to leave when Gauri says "I said I am sorry."
"I forgave you, Gauri." Omkara replies looking at her.
"No, you didn't. You are still angry with me." Gauri says as she started crying.
"I am not angry with you." Omkara says as he walked towards her and wiped her tears lovingly.
"You don't love me anymore." Gauri says sadly.
"Why would you say that?" Omkara asks frowning.
"You didn't kiss me after that." Gauri says as she wailed.
"You want me to kiss you?" Omkara asks shocked.
Gauri continues to cry.
"When I realized that you were not happy with the marriage, I thought I should give you time before we got intimate." Omkara tells her.
"I don't want any time." Gauri replies as she cried.
Omkara lifts her face and she looks at him as tears streamed down her face. He gently wipes her tears as he smiled at her. "So you want me to kiss you." Omkara states.
Gauri looks away shyly.
"I want to do more than just kissing." Omkara tells her and hearing that she looks at him in wide eyed shock then blushes smiling. Seeing her blush was all the permission he needed and he slams his mouth on hers. She immediately wraps her arms around him as she kissed his back. Without breaking off the kiss Omkara starts removing her saree.

They lay on the bed content as they tried to catch their breath. She was lying on his chest.
"Suniye ji."
"Hmmm?"
"English samaj mein aati hai?" Gauri asks him as she blushed.
Omkara starts smiling happily realizing what she was going to say. "Thoda thoda." he replies imitating her.
"I lauvve yooou."
