Chapter TWENTY SIX

"Hey, hey. Son. Wake up. Wake up, honey. You're here"

The area around him was peaceful. A light cast down onto the small pond and trees there, fish swimming around gently, little water ripples appearing when they peeped their eyes out to look at them.

The grass beneath him was so, so soft. It was so comfortable too. He didn't want to move, he just wanted to sleep.
But the tugging on his arm told him otherwise.
He was quite curious as to who was waking him, so he got up.
To his surprise, he saw a woman in the distance.

"Follow me, I have to show you something"
Harin followed the lady, his walking much more slower. But he didn't mind. He'd take his time. He wasn't in a rush, it was okay.

He looked around, seeing patterns upon patterns engrave into the walls of the mountain.
Butterflies fluttered around, landing on his ears, but he shook them away.
They came back, but that was okay too.

He spotted an owl, but.. it was dead.
Odd.
He ignored it, and kept following the Lady.

A few bunnies appeared, rushing past him, as if running - playing, more so.
He spotted wolves playing in the grass not too far away from himself. One was a pup while the other was an adult.

One was a black pup with yellow eyes, while the other was adorned with a beautiful silver coat.
It reminded him of something, but he couldn't pin point what exactly.

He moved on and saw his child hood plush.
It was a wolf plush, but it was missing a paw.
All of the pack members had their plush, a recreation of themselves. He loved the plush with all his life, and cared for it like it was a child of some sort.

He went over and picked it up tenderly, inspecting it for a little before putting it down against the bark of the tree again.

He kept on walking, when he saw the same exact plush, but now it had its paw.
Moving on, he saw the plush again. Its paw seemed to wither away, as if it was falling off. Bad stitching was done on that paw, he knew so.

Moving on again, he neared a fountain.
Looking in, he saw himself in the fountain.
However, he bore no scars. His face was as clear as a child's.
He looked at his hands, and they all were perfectly fine.

'Maybe this was some sort of recovery area?' He though to hinself,
'Maybe I've been nursed back to full health!'

Plodding on, he neared the woman, who stood with a candle.
The woman revealed to be his mom.

Stopping in his tracks, he felt tears gather in his eyes, hanging his head and dropping to his knees.
"Momma.. I'm so sorry, I should've stayed with you. Momma, forgive me. I would've never left if I knew what would have happened. Mom.. I miss you so much" He cried quietly, a hand resting on his shoulder.

"My dear son, please don't cry. You did nothing wrong. Your dad was the one to blame. He was the wrong do-er. You did nothing, my sweet baby. You did the right thing, I'm so proud"

She knelt down to hug him, and he wrapped his arms around her, nuzzling close to her.
All he wanted was a mother's embrace right now, nothing else.

He wanted it all to finish- but wait. His mother passed.. so does that?-

"My dear, you need to make a wise decision now. This will guide you on the right path, but you need to be fully awake and conscious"

He got up with her help, wiping his tears away and realizing a mirror was in front of him.

"You have two options.
You have no scars, no injuries, no wounds as of now. As you are here with me, in paradise. Hurt does not exist here. No emotional pain should exist, you broke that boundary a second ago. You are not completely aware of the rules here, but that's okay.

So tell me, dear. Would you prefer to rest, once and for all, with me, here by your side?
These scars won't pain any more. Regulus won't bother you here, you don't possess such a vile disease here. My dear, is this what you'd like?
Or"

The mirror flipped, to show him with tons of scars, a serious look on his face and a deadly look in his eyes.
He lifted his hands.
His arm had the staples on it from earlier, and his hands bore cuts from the thorns he had to push through.

"Would you like one more chance?
Regulus isn't a blessing. It's a curse. But it let's you have a chance. You can go back, be a brave warrior. Save them.
You will be in a lot of pain, I cannot guarantee your body will be able to put up with this pain. But I know you're strong, my child.

You've gone through so, so much. You're so brave.
You can choose this path, to redeem your title of the strongest Alpha in the area.
Become a hero, and finish your father once and for all.

Whatever you choose, son. It will be permanent. I will support you through both decisions"

He flipped the mirror to the other side, the heavy pain leaving almost automatically.
He let out a sigh of relief, hanging his head for a second, thinking.

Before he finally made up his mind.

He switched the mirror back over to his bloodied and bruised self. This was the body he knew, the one he ruined. But it was his body.

He was going to save them. And he was going to end his father.

"I'm going back, mom. I'll save them. I'll kill dad. He'll know what it's like to feel pain. He'll feel my anguish, he'll feel our burden. The amount of pain we went through with him. He'll learn it all. And I'll save them.. I'll save Yonghoon, I'll save Kanghyun. I'll save Dongmyeong, I'll save Cya. I'll save them all"

His mother smiled.

"You have chosen, but remember. Once you choose this, I don't know how long your body will hold on. You'll need a lot of nursing, my dear.
Your friends have decided to leave the area and flee to the reservoir. You need to hurry. Your father has Kanghyun, and the trees around you have started to burn. You must hurry. If anything happens, I'll be by waiting here. Go, finish him. Get them back"

Harin nodded, looking at his hand once more.

"I'll kill him. Oh, I'll kill him"
