I'm your girlfriend, its what I do

3rd person POV

Indiana hadn't gotten the chance to talk to Marcus about the academy since mia announced that he would be training them. she didn't know what to say to him, I mean "hey Marcus why wouldn't you tell me but you told your ex-girlfriend?" probably wouldn't go over well. Indiana wasn't avoiding him but she sure as hell wasn't trying to talk to him. she felt like she was at a crossroads and she didn't know what to do.

"Indi" someone called and she turned around to see becky walking towards her with bob and she smiled as she lifted her hand and she pet bob

"hey becks, whats up?" she asked and becky smiled at her and then she sighed

"are you and Marcus okay? i know that he didn't tell you about the academy and that probably hurt a lot but I wanted to check on you" becky asked and Indiana sighed as she looked at the ground and nodded.

"I'm trying to be okay becks but he told mia and not me which hurt me more then I thought it would" she said and becky nodded

"I understand and I'm here for you whenever you want to talk. nationals are a day away so good luck" she said and she ran her hand down indis arm before she walked away with bob and Indiana smiled at the sight of them. Bob couldn't ride and he couldn't train but he sure as hell could walk.

Becky was right, Nationals was a day away and in order for them to win, Indiana and Mac had to work together as did Zoe and Raven. Indiana knew she had to go about her day and that's what she was prepared to do.

"Dia" Marcus called and she turned to him as she smiled like everything was okay when it wasn't.

"last day of training, are you ready?" he asked and she nodded with a smile

"lets do this" she said and she walked to macs stall as she tacked him up and led him out into the field. she got on him and began to ride

"that's it, Dia. enjoy the ride and the rest will follow" he called and Indiana rode over as she looked at james talking to her boyfriend

"you know if you're threatened by the fact that bright fields has a better bond with Marcus then we did with you , you can say that" She spoke and James scoffed as he walked away and Indiana smiled at Marcus

"thanks I" he said and she shrugged

"I'm your girlfriend, its what I do" she stated and she got up from Mac as she smiled at Marcus and he smiled at her.

"i dont think that you and mac need anymore training, you two have this in the bag and i know you do. he understands you and you understand him" Marcus said and she looked down at Mac as he shook his head and she pet the side of his neck with a smile

"i can only hope so" she exclaimed and she got off of Mac as she watched zoe ride in Raven and nodded

"i guess you have to train her now, good luck" Indiana said and she kissed his cheek as she walked away with Mac and led him back into the stables. She walked him into his stall and she put his lead up and tied it

"team meeting in five" Mia said and Indiana nodded as she lifted her head and looked at mia

"ill be there soon" she stated and mia smiled as she left indiana and looked at Mac and nodded

"we'll be alright, ill be right back" she said and she kissed his nose as she smiled and left his stall and walked out to see becky and bob near the wall.

"Indi" Becky called and she walked over as she sat down next to becky and she smiled at her

"mia made me the mascot and i dont know what to do, she wants us to do some shopping after training and i dont know if i'm prepared to leave bob alone yet" she said and indiana nodded

"i get it but you are the heart of bright fields becks and im truly happy for you two. im here to support you no matter what" she said and becky smiled. they then went throughout the whole day and she smiled when she sat down in macs stall and she looked up at marcus

"im sorry" he started and she sighed

"why didnt you tell me?" she asked and he walked in as he sat down next to her and shrugged

"i didnt know how to, i thought you would be disappointed" he said and she sighed as she shook her head

"marcus i could never be disappointed, i thought you knew that you could come to me" she retorted and he nodded

"i didnt think Indi, im sorry" he said and she sighed and nodded

"yeah i am too" she said and she left the stables leaving marcus behind. she didnt want to be there with him in that moment. she knew she couldnt but the next day was nationals and she wasnt ready but she needed to be.

so the next morning, she woke up and she got dressed. she went to the stables and she looked at mac and sighed

"its you and me today, out there its us and no one else. we are all we need and we are all we will ever need. i know youre scared and i am too but trust me, we can do this and i know we can" she said and he huffed as she ran her hand over his mane and she put to the tack room, she led him out of the stall and into the yard. she grabbed the hose and she smiled as she sprayed him down and nodded as she washed him down and smiled

"us , just us" she said and she led him out to the trailers with the others and she put him in. That was until becky came over and handed indiana a jersey

"we're all wearing one" she said and she walked away as indiana put it on and went to the others. she stood next to marcus and mia as she listened to becky

"bright fields might not be the coolest or the grandest stables, but we're going to nationals and we're totally going to win. so look out, pony lovers, we are team bright fields. the little stables that roared" becky said and they all cheered for her

"those shirts are ridiculous" James stepped forward

"ridiculously awesome, i know.i am a trainer and this is my team and you wouldn't need trash talk if, deep down, you weren't scared that we're going to destroy you out there" Marcus said and indiana smiled

"he has been spending way too much time with you" Jade said to indiana and she smiled and nodded

"well he is my boyfriend, now lets go do this thing" she said and she looked at them

she was prepared and wanted to be happy but she knew that maybe deep down, she wasnt prepared or happy. she was scared out of her mind and the attention would be too much for her. they all knew that but the issue was what if she showed that.
